========================
In this video, I, a game developer using Unity, jump into the creation process of my horror game. I am inspired by beloved titles like Lethal Company, Choo Choo Charles, Fears To Fathom, Poppy Playtime, and Garten Of Banban. Watching streamers and content creators such as HorrorScoped, RTGame, xQc, Forsen, Jacksepticeye, and Markiplier tackle these games fuels my passion for game development even more.
My work is influenced by talented developers like Dani (creator of Karlson), Two Star (maker of Choo Choo Charles), and Pontypants (recently known for A Difficult Game About Climbing), who use their creativity to entertain others. This devlog offers insights into the creation of Halte, my latest horror game, catering to those interested in game development and gaming enthusiasts alike.
Unlike "Making A Game In 24 Hours" or "Making a Game in 1 Week" challenges, this video focuses on the in-depth process of game development rather than quick projects. It's not a game jam video but an engaging look into the development of Halte, promising an entertaining, but insightful experience for you all.

Dude you are crazy underrated it’s actually unfair to see such talented people fly under the radar. I wish you and your channel nothing but the best
Thank you! I appreciate that :)))
Really cool Devlog!
I like that you plan to focus the horror element on the passengers, that has a lot of potential. Also nice attention to detail with the tram sounds. It seems like you got all the priorities to making a good horror games right.
Looking forward to your next Devlogs!
Thank you! :)) I already updated the sounds of the tram and they're now even better. I'll show them in the next part!
Charles would be proud
Don't be surprised if, in the middle of the game, it all just turns in a massive rip-off of choo choo charles
Very well-made video, can't wait for the next one!
Thank you! :))
this is looking really cool, ive been learning unity and programming to try make a ps1 horror game myself
Cool! Good luck with that! :))
This is one of the best horror devlogs I've seen (and I've watched a lot). I might be biased because you name dropped a few of my favourite indie horrors, a your inspiration, but I'm really looking forward to seeing how this project progresses!
Also, have you looked into Deferred Rendering? The lighting issue you showed looks very similar to what happens when you reach the limit for active light sources in the Forward Rendering path. I might be saying stuff you already know anyway, but Deferred lighting looks to be perfect for your game since it calculates lighting per-pixel, meaning you'll save resources if your game is dark.
Hey, thanks for the tips! I think I changed to deferred already, but I have to doublecheck that again, because I changed the quallity settings A LOT! haha
Crazy start ngl, I can't wait to see where this goes, looks like an interesting game already!
Thanks! :))
This is such a good start! Keep up the good work! Also, if you want to add "voices" to your game, I suggest an Automatic Mouth software similar to BetterSam. They could add to the unnerving/unreal atmosphere (just a suggestion, though). I'm excited to see where this project goes! :]
Yooo, that's a great idea! Thanks for the tip!
Stumbled upon this vid, game idea is near, hope to see more. Plz make a pt 2
Thanks! Part 2 is going smoothly!
@@luxodev how much time until u make it?
@@slaveggs1058 mhmm, everything together takes quite a long time to make, so probably in the next couple of weeks
I CANNOT WAIT TO PLAY THIS, I LOVE DEVLOGS!
Love the new video!!

I've been wanting to make exactly this type of game lately. I think this is my sign to start. Also, great editing!
I believe in you! Just keep grinding! :))

Thank you, big man!
De lijn... You creating nightmares.. Awesome video tho ! Didn't expect another belgian dev on youtube i feel like its pretty rare
Yoooo, Belgium represent!
yo thats amazing! im working on a somewhat similar game but instead u drive a train in the forest, yours is a really cool concept!
Yoooo, good luck with yours!!
Great video man. Please continue this project😊

Keep on grinding dude, I'm rooting for you💪

Thank you! Good luck with your game! :))
I don't know if you've realized this yet, but I have 100% confidence that you're about to blow up.
Yooo, I appreciate it! Let's hope so haha
Great progress so far. Excited to see how this horror game will progress, like which metrics constitute winning the game and what is the gameplay loop that runs that progression.
Thank you!
extremely underrated, u will get to 1k in no time, subbed
Thank you! Let's hope haha
So underrated, loved the video, keep it up! 💝
Much appreciated! :)))
Can't wait to try the game!
Good stuff! Definitely gonna keep an eye on this project going forward.
Keep up the good work. c:
Thanks! Much appreciated! :))
The video was amazing! Can't wait for part 2 😉
Yooo, much appreciated! :))
We are in te exact same position 😂 Nice video, I'm excited to see where this project goes (:
Thanks! Good luck with your project! :))
I'm not a huge fan of horror games, but this one looks incredibly exciting to play. It feels like the low budget version of Choo-choo Charles, but it's a tram instead of a train. I'm excited to see how the game will turn out, whether it'll be an indie success or still a project to look forward to.
I wish you the best of luck to create this project successfully, from one game developer to another.
Thanks! Glad you like it! :))
This is awesome i can't wait for part 2
Thanks! :))
This looks so good
Thanks! :))
i will be here to watch it all
haha thanks!
how tf do you only have 500 subs?!
Dude, your crazy underrated 🗿🍷
Thanks! 🗿🍺
🗿☕@@luxodev
Acturly hiped for da game
Yooo, thanks!
Good video bro❤
Thank youuu!
Peak :p I don’t use unity cuz I don’t wanna compete with big companies I use Roblox studio but gl and I subbed
Oh yeah, that's pretty fair! Thanks for subbing! :))
I LIKE TRAINSSSSSSS
I just know you've never had 183802 delays before
Love this video
Thank you! :))
honestly you can still allow the player to walk around in the train while its moving, mechanically it would feel a lot better
Yup, that's exactly what I did. But don't mind it when the player glitches through the tram for the tenth time :))
@@luxodev couldnt you set the player as a child object of the train, and clear parent when he jumps off using on trigger stay function
@@AKiCK.Studios Yes, it's what I'm currently doing. I think, the glitching is caused by transitioning to the dashboard and back. I probably messed up some localPosition code, should be an easy fix
@@luxodev Alrighty then, looking forward to it.
Good luck!
Nice
I would try lowering the resolution instead of using distortion
Currently doing that as well! The lens distortion is only for that fisheye look :))
Hi there, I'm Michael. Just came across this and I love how devoted you are to getting the visuals looking just right. Enjoyed the video!
SELF-PROMOTION TIME:
If you're looking for music for the game, or any other game, I'm a video game composer! If you're interested, I'd love to chat!
Thank you! I'm not really looking for music atm, but I'll keep it in mind :))
I got a concept.sometimes,a npc tries to fight you for "money",if you lose the fight.you lose some money, the money is for the tram's maintenance.if the money runs out and the tram turns dusty, smelly and dirty.you are met with a screen saying "you are fired!" With a disturbing face.to collect money, try to pick up customers and drop them, sometimes.they will run away without paying.how is the concept?you can simplify it or....make the whole thing into the game which is going to be worth the wait.oh mah gawd, did i use ORIGINAL IDDDEEEASSSSSSSS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Sounds cool!
@@luxodev and oh,you can also use the broom to clean the tram but the broom would break randomly.ANOTHER ORIGINAL IDDDEEEEAAAAAAA!!!!!
yooo great stuff really nice and if u have time can u make a tut for the dialog like the text sounds typewriting and everything i think its pretty awesome
Thanks, I actually use a tool for that, with the text sounds included! It's called "Dialogue System for Unity" and really worth it when it's on sale :))
@@luxodev ty bro i really apriciate it i will chrck it out
Could you please try making the videos longer!
I'm the 251st subscriber
You're the greatest 251st subscriber I've ever seen!
Amogus in thumbnail
Pretty sus huh
The game looks GOOD.well it have mobile support or not?(a stupid question).i can't wait for the train's final version!(i might be a bit impatient and demanding.)
Hahah, thank you! Idk about a mobile version.. Probably not, because it doesn't really fit the audience that much
@@luxodev respectful decision.
You should make it look like a old gopro.
Yoo, not a bad idea! Just have to see if it's not overwhelming tho
Ok
*Obtained +1 Subcriber*
let's goooo
Ok
Why are th textures all bush?
ok.
YOUR ARE MAKING A WORSE CHOO CHOO CHARLES
Exactly what I was going for
you will make a better character model right?
haha yes, this is just a placeholder
so this video mainly focused on scripting and lighting/shaders?
yes
Too much shaders
Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep that in mind!
USE UNREAL UNITY MAKES YOU PAY WHEN YOU UPLOAD psl switch
If I remember correctly, the new royalties only apply for 2024 versions and above. Thanks for the heads up, though!
Belgian tram schedules are scary fr. Looking forward to the process 🙌
I could just place a picture of a schedule somewhere and it'll be the biggest jumpscare of the game haha
@@luxodev You could add a labor strike as a halloween event 💀
thats crazy sick dude
Thanks! :))
