    Kit and Products in this detail:
    - Bilt Hamber Auto Foam amzn.to/3bPLbvJ
    - CarPro Reset amzn.to/3MRtEnk
    - Autobrite Direct Foam Lance
    - Nilfisk C130
    - Direct Hoses 15m hose and Short Gun

      I love CP Reset as a shampoo, absolutely mega. And the combination of Auto Foam first and then that...yup, nothing comes close. I've only had one experience of Lift and my impression was that it doesn't do anywhere near as good a job as autofoam, but some further testing is required before making a conclusion there, I could have got dilution ratio's wrong etc etc etc

    Full-time valeter here… BH Is great as a time-saver unless something stronger like citrus or TFR is really needed 👍
    Try rinsing your prewash off bottom to top though when there’s traffic film to remove - no doubt I’d get criticism from the weekend warriors for that but if you have an actually dirty vehicle then that’s the best way. Then a quick chase back down from the top with the jet wash ensures no grit left for the contact wash while ensuring as much traffic film as possible is removed

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  2 роки тому

      Can you explain the rationale behind rinsing bottom to top? I can't work that one out in terms of benefit; unless it's the idea that there's more water flowing over the bottom part so it's rinsing away more of the grime?
      Sorry, as I was typing it I was thinking that could well be the answer. Tricky when you're mobile too isn't it as you're balancing water usage from your tank.

      @@SuperchargedLlama firstly, you can see where you’ve been much easier
      Secondly, if you apply a prewash at your chosen dilution and start rinsing from the top then the solution at the bottom where it’s dirtiest is either being diluted or taken off the panels by the rinse water coming from above, rendering it next to useless

      I completely agree with the Surfex HD in the snowfoam suggestion. When I really need more power I pre-spray the panel with Surfex at 20:1. It's a similar story with putting Koch Chemie Green Star in with their Gentle Snow Foam isn't it?

    • @KiranPatel-fk1pg

      Bilt hamber AF is high alkaline so it's going to have more cleaning power. What some people don't realise is alkalines eat away and degrade rubber and plastic trim especially with frequent use. Hence why pH neutral foams and shampoos are ideal for regular use. It's not all about cleaning power but all safety for all exterior surfaces

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  3 роки тому +1

      @@KiranPatel-fk1pg you're right but it's not too much of an issue with AF as it's still a very mild solution at 4% PIR. I Just noticed I hadn't replied, apologies. You're absolutely right of course, but I was curious if a more potent shampoo could replace a snowfoam and therefore reduce the number of products you carry. Potentially I guess, but it'd be incredibly expensive to use Reset as a foam to get proper cleaning abilities. I wonder if Garage Therapy's Decon Shampoo fairs any better in that regard.
      I'm also keen to compare Lift to the new formulation of Gyeon's Foam too, and put that up against Auto Foam...and maybe Garage Therapy's own snow foam.

      @@JJS432 I know what you're getting at, I was just curious to see if a contact wash solution that cleans so well and can be applied by foam lance (which CarPro say is possible) meant it would work as a pre-wash too. As we can see, it's about as effective at that as Lift is (or Gyeon Foam) at adding any real cleaning power to the foaming process, so it'll just lift off any loose surface debris. Great at the moment when you've got a tonne of dust and pollen around, less useful in the winter I find.

      I definitely think there's a place for those products, if you're washing weekly and have a well protected car you very likely don't need the power of Autofoam...but then again I just run that at 2% PIR in those cases as it still helps clean a bit more.

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  3 роки тому +1

      Yup Autofoam is perfectly safe through a foam canon, just don't go above 4%, PIR and you'll be fine. If you're unsure then run it at 2 or 3%. CP Reset is a lovely shampoo in the bucket, loads of lubrication. And you don't need to use it every time either, most of the time you just want a pure shampoo like Gyeon Bathe (not Bathe+) or Bilt Hamber's Auto Wash. I've forgotten what CP's one is but tbh every brand seems to have one. And that would be where I'd go really, the best combination is the mildest one, and occasionally a deep clean of your coating using something like Reset.

      A manufacturer would most likely never make a bucket wash soap with heavy cleaning ability. Simply put, heavy cleaners require additional safety measures. Most people don't use rubber gloves/skin protection when they're doing something as simple as washing their car. Heavy cleaners are likely to cause serious skin irritation if you're constantly dunking your hand in the bucket. There's a reason why Bilt Hamber Auto foam isn't marketed as a bucket wash soap
