Excellent video pan! I used the carpro lift for the1st time yesterday on 3 vehicles that were heavily covered in salt & Canadian road grime. After letting the product dwell for approximately 10 minutes, i hit it with a 3500 psi pressure washer and the results were outstanding. 👌
Snow foam performs better without a pre rinse by allowing the product to cling to the surface in order to soften debris and traffic film. Applying to a wet surface just makes it run off before it even has time to work. It’s all about the high pressure rinsing of the loosened contaminates once it’s had time to dwell.
With a ceramic coated car the water would sheet off pretty quick, leaving only a small amount of water on the panel. Plus you're mixing it with water through the foam cannon so you're diluting it there. I've tried it both ways and haven't seen where it didn't work one way or the other. It seemed to work on Pan's brothers car from what I could tell.

Good Morning Pan and Thank You! Really helps us to understand when to use certain product(s) and their performance. Right Tools for the job in front of you.
It is safe for use on full blown ceramic and graphene coatings that are in those glass bottles. I wouldn't recommend it for use on spray products, or liquid waxes or sealants.
@@PanTheOrganizer good day Pan. What would your goto snow foam be for a foam cannon ?? Iam going to be buying a 6litre kwazar orion and want to purchase a bottle of soap
Good video, thanks... As for the pre-rinse before snow foam, I just don't get it... I would do a good snow foam loosens dirt and grime and then rinse. Not sure why pre-wash and foam. That being said, never done a snow foam yet except at a local car wash this winter with a manual snow foam. Looking forward to trying it with my pressure washer in the spring-summer.
There are two different schools of thought on that. I like to pre-rinse, foam and rinse. Some go straight to foaming a dry surface, then rinse. What ever works best in your world. But I prefer knocking out what ever loose dirt and debris I can first, then spraying the foam to let it dwell and pickup things that it might had missed should there have been looser stuff on top... That routine works fantastic for me, so I stick with it until someone can prove there is a better method. ;)
We have CarPro lift here in Australia works really well. Great to see the comparison between these two as Ethos products review highly. Thanks Panasonic 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Great comparison, Pan!!!! You turned me into a Turtle Wax Flex user for my 2021 CX-5 (which is absolutely awesome) and so I'm wondering if CarPro Lift is safe to use on a TW Flex treated surface? Thank you!!!! Always love your videos!!
Yes it's safe for use on Flex. Maybe not as resistant as a full blown coating, but it should hold up for a wash with Lift every now and then. Worse comes to worse, you can always spray and rinse a fresh coat if you see hydrophobics diminish.
@@PanTheOrganizer oh ok, there cleaning products are some of the most powerful we have here in the UK. Hopefully they make there way over to you so you can do some of ur reviews on them.
Yes. But if you have a regular wax or sealant, Lift will break that down and potentially strip it, as they don’t have the same chemical resistance as ceramic coatings.
Morning coffee.. and vids!!! Great video here. Seems lift definitely did a better job in terms of pre cleaning 👍 I need to try that stuff!! I looove Ethos foam party!!! Great foam smell is insane haha. Both great products here.
What’s up, Pan? Good morning. Another fine video to watch as I have My car looked at. You can never have too many detailing products. 😃. I think the Ethos would be better to Me. The CarPro product is a little runnier. I still like Adam’s Mega Foam a lot. Preference/choices!!!
Mega Foam still produces more foam, and it can be used on top of waxes, sealants and coatings. But CarPro has more cleaning power and a higher pH level, but can only be used on ceramic coated cars. You'll have to wait until my 2021 awards video to find out which one I prefer. But both are top tier snow foams for sure.
Just FYI Note that Carpro Lift contains the punch of an all purpose cleaner unless you heavily dilute it. It will strip waxes and some sealants from vehicles if used at a 1:10 ratio.
Hey pan first up great review, funny thing I just got my carpro lift delivered this morning guess this is ok to use on my car iv got meguairs ceramic spray wax on it.Keep To the 1-10 ratio. All the very best stay safe 🏴🏴🏴👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the vid Pan 👍 I’ve used Foam Party and just yesterday Lift, and my honest opinion is Lift is stronger and left my paint cleaner. The thing with Lift to me though is I’m not sure I’d use it on a weekly basis because it is a stronger product. Again, thank you for the vid, I really enjoy them.
Fantastic video Pan, great job! I feel like out of the Ethos and the Carpro I would personally pick the Carpro. Although both of them are great products.
Can you foam a car, let it sit, rinse, then foam and contact wash just rinsing the mitt along the way? Basically replacing the step of applying soap from bucket with thicker soap from cannon...
Great video, appreciate your insight. Recently picked up both Reset and Lift for my ceramic coated vehicle. Would using Lift on a weekly/biweekly basis for quick touchless washes be fine? Would like to minimize traffic film leading up to a contact wash with Reset as to avoid scratches, swirl marks, etc. when the time comes.
Pan something else, I do not have or want ceramic tiles ... I use colliniti wax, sometimes seal in shane, other times another type of wax applied by hand or there is a machine .... My question is, Will the wash reset also remove waxes and sealants from the paint ?! I did an experiment and put in the Reset foam cannon with 1:10 dilution, I liked what I saw, do you think if I do the prewash with reset and then the wash with reset would remove the wax or sealant applied ?!
@@PanTheOrganizer so what would be the ideal shampoo for washing and pre-washing ?! I was seeing the Koch Chemie Gentle Snow Foam - 1L but its pH is 7.5 the reset shampo has ph 7 how to remove the waxes ?! if the PH are identical ?!
@@PanTheOrganizer Pan, I can't find this product here in Portugal ... Yes, I can use the Koch Chemie Gentle Snow Foam shampoo, do you think it is safe for washing and pre-washing ?! Do not remove waxes and sealants ?!
I've used the the ethos foam and really liked it. If I'm going to use a higher alkaline cleaner I would use a purple power vehicle and boat super cheap.. still carpro looks like a really good product too...great review pan
What's up Pan!!! another great video👍👍⚠️⚠️. I definitely prefer Carpro Lift and after contact washing Lithium Double Tap as you told me excellent product great result Thank you very much friend like always greetings from Panama City👌👌👌🇵🇦🇵🇦🇵🇦
I have found the thicker the foam, the longer it takes to rinse off, as you demonstrated, especially from the panel gaps and around the doors and trunks. A good video for your viewers to decide on which type of foam thickness to use. Ozz
It comes down to what is the purpose of the prewash and therefore foam. To me, it's to remove as much dirt and grime prior to the contact portion to minimize scratching the surface. Otherwise your spraying foam for the sake of spraying foam and you like the way it looks. The Ethos seems to provide little value other than it looks cool which has become the case with so many snow foams now a days. Foam in of itself is not going to pull too much dirt outside of big loose dirt and sand which you could do by simply spraying the vehicle first. Pan your video clearly shows that Lift did its actual intended job.
Pan, given Lift can remove waxes and sealants, will it also breakdown ceramic toppers like Reload or others like Reload? I was just about to buy Lift and now have concerns. Perhaps only use Lift every once in a while? My cars are ceramic coated.
Hi, Pan. I don’t know whether you get to respond on reviews a few months old, but I’ll try anyway. First of all, on my last post I commented on how expensive this product is. You responded that in spite of the cost, Reset is a “superior” product. On your recommendation alone, I went ahead and purchased a bottle of 34oz. I actually used it a couple of weeks ago and let me tell you, it is worth every penny. If you are interested in foam, buy other products; if you are interested in a clean car, well reset is the best. Even the drying process is better. No streaks. No water spots. I used a leaf blower and a towel afterwards. I noticed when I used the leaf blower to dry the washed car, the water just slid some much easier than when I used other sudsier/foamier products. I like it so much, it will my product of choice. Now, if only you could provide a discount code to use when I buy it directly from Carpro. I think I’ll give Carpro Lift a try as well as a prewash. Anyway, my apologies. I should never question the wisdom of the great Pan, the Organizer.
very nice comparison👍I have a question . your washing water is softened .. at what level of hardness have you set your softener .. thank you for your answer😀
I don't set the hardness levels of my water. The softener just does its thing. In my previous home, I also had a water softener and had done water hardness levels analysis through a local water treatment specialist. You can see the before and after results here: ua-cam.com/video/G66IR8kS0uQ/v-deo.html
@@PanTheOrganizer Would it be okay on an unprotected vehicle you want to strip wash, though? At present I use Meguiar's Wash Plus after Purple Power Vehicle & Boat Wash in the foam canon for a strip wash... not always very effective...
I always pre-wash yes, 99% of the time, if I'm in no hurry. I wash my car twice weekly. I made a video called "Wash & Talk" where I go through my wash routine with my car here: ua-cam.com/video/OfA6We4Mvak/v-deo.html
Hey Pan - is the Lift safe to use with reset as a weekly maintenance wash on a matte finish. The only reason I ask is that Lift is not ph neutral. I just used Lift and Descale and I can definitely see more hydrophobic properties return to my matte finished!
I wouldn't use Lift every week. Once a month perhaps. And for Descale, only use when needed. Perhaps a few times a year for a more thorough decon, like in my ultimate spring detailing tutorial here: ua-cam.com/video/oTaFE_p2OAw/v-deo.html For weekly washes, CarPro Reset as a shampoo is the best, and a pH neutral snow foam like Koch Chemie Gsf is all you need.
Fun video. Question. Maybe for an episode. How can you determine if a vehicle has a ceramic coating? Most detailers do not put a sticker in the door jam containing the info. 2nd. How can you safely remove a ceramic coating if someone has done a poor job? Is it always harsh when removing it?
To see if a car has a ceramic coating try sliding across the hood. If a coating a been applied improperly it will usually wash off or wash off in sections. If you’re talking about high spots you’ll have to machine them off.
@pan or anyone: so a good rule of thumb is higher ph or alkaline soaps and foams are GOOD/reccomended for ceramic coated vehicles. Higher ph or alkaline soaps and foams are NOT a good choice or reccomended for basic waxed vehicles? A ph neutral soap or foam is good for both ceramic vehicles AND non ceramic vehicles?
More or less yes. Not all high pH soaps are recommended for use on coatings neither though. Use shampoos developed from coating brands, like this CarPro Lift. They are formulated to be compatible with coatings. As another rule of thumb, you can also use pH neutral car shampoos to clean all types of protections, waxes, sealants and coatings. That removes the guesswork if you don't know exactly what will work or not.
Thanks! I can spend up to four hours daily replying to UA-cam comments personally, which no other big channel does. So I’m glad to see that my community appreciates my efforts. I won’t lie though, as I get thousands of messages daily as you can imagine from 800,000 subscribers and millions watching so it gets overwhelming at times, and less family time for me. But I try my best to stay connected with my audience.
Great video Pan. I love it. By the way seeking your expert help what is the best ratio to dialute CarPro Lift & water if I want to use garden water hose foam gun. Thanks.
People have to stop saying that. Higher alkaline soaps and snow foams can start "breaking down" older waxes and sealants, but can't fully remove them 100%. Machine polishing is still the only way to ensure 100% removal of previous protection. Lift won't strip freshly applied waxes or sealants, it will start breaking them down though.
eii pan sorry for the question again. The reset shampoo applies to cars with ceramic protection, but there is also ceramic protection in Spray, is it the same thing ?! Ceramic spray can not be used reset right ?
Yes it's safe on PPF. Only scenarios where I wouldn't recommend it is for car protected with regular waxes/sealants. This is meant for ceramic coated cars.
Thank you Pan for this another amazing test video ! I just purchased a similar product: Adam’s mega foam, can’t wait to test it ! Cheers !
Thanks! I reviewed Mega Foam in this video: ua-cam.com/video/K2jvbG2H2pg/v-deo.html
If you like foam, you will get that in spades!
@@PanTheOrganizer good day Pan. What would your goto snow foam be for a foam cannon ?? Iam going to be buying a 6litre kwazar orion and want to purchase a bottle of soap
Great practical evidence as product qualities 👍👍 water sheeting do overs, easy to see the difference/finish product
Thanks for watching Matthew!
I like the Etos Foam party better as it is very sudsy and has a pH neutral element to it. Great review Pan.
@@PanTheOrganizer Thank you, Pan!!!
Never seen you use any bilt-hamber products . One of the best snow foams out there.

I haven't seen them available in Canada yet unfortunately.

Not everyone has a pressure washer at the ready when they wash their car. Have you done or can you do a review of the best hose attached foam gun?
try to save money to buy pressure washer. hose foam cannons are gimmick
No, as foam guns don’t produce the same levels of foam. It’s more of a soupy mess.
Cheers Pan, a good way to start a weekend
You bet!
Can Lift safely be used on cars that aren’t ceramic coated, but that have tons of dirt, grime, loads of bugs, and visible paint contaminants??
Yes. But if you have a regular wax or sealant, Lift will break that down and potentially strip it, as they don’t have the same chemical resistance as ceramic coatings.

Happy Carpro fan boy here 👍👍 , I will have to get some of that to try out
I prefer the Carpro Lift SF, because my car is ceramic coatet 🤟🏻 Thx for your Video
Thanks Bas! How did you discover my channel by the way?
Wanting to try the carpro lift now, but I wonder if it's better than Adams mega foam? Since that one won the award for the 2020 awards
Yes. I only recommend Lift for ceramic coated vehicles.
Hey pan first up great review, funny thing I just got my carpro lift delivered this morning guess this is ok to use on my car iv got meguairs ceramic spray wax on it.Keep
To the 1-10 ratio. All the very best stay safe 🏴🏴🏴👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I wouldn't recommend Lift to be used on regular waxes/sealants on ceramic sprays like Meguiar's...
On a ceramic coated car, absolutely no problem to use it often.
@@PanTheOrganizer what product is not to strong but is good to use daily?
Fantastic video Pan, great job! I feel like out of the Ethos and the Carpro I would personally pick the Carpro. Although both of them are great products.
When you are showing the rear quarter panel you should do a side by side comparison and edit that in so we can see them and compare them
Can you foam a car, let it sit, rinse, then foam and contact wash just rinsing the mitt along the way? Basically replacing the step of applying soap from bucket with thicker soap from cannon...
You certainly can, as long as your bucket also has soap in it, in case the foam runs off.
Lift dilution.
20 ounces of water for 2 ounces of lift is that it?
thanks
Don't use Reset or Lift on cars protected with regular waxes or sealants. Those two products are only meant for use on ceramic coated cars.

I really like Ethos Ceramic Shampoo in my foam cannon. Unbelievable foam thickness.
Hey Pan GREAT! Video - also from my understanding Lift can also be used as decon as well.
As a decon? This doesn't have iron removing capabilities.
Carpro lift Precautions: Test the product on an inconspicuous area before use. I have never seen a snow foam or car soap say this before.
Are you thinking it may be too strong and stain trim or maybe damage wax, sealant or coatings?
It can start breaking down older waxes and sealants yes. It's meant for use on ceramic coated cars.
Love these battles. I still think the Griot's Garage foams are the best you've tested so far.
Glad you like them!
I have found the thicker the foam, the longer it takes to rinse off, as you demonstrated, especially from the panel gaps and around the doors and trunks. A good video for your viewers to decide on which type of foam thickness to use. Ozz
Carpro lift can I use it on my ceramic coated car
It comes down to what is the purpose of the prewash and therefore foam. To me, it's to remove as much dirt and grime prior to the contact portion to minimize scratching the surface. Otherwise your spraying foam for the sake of spraying foam and you like the way it looks. The Ethos seems to provide little value other than it looks cool which has become the case with so many snow foams now a days. Foam in of itself is not going to pull too much dirt outside of big loose dirt and sand which you could do by simply spraying the vehicle first. Pan your video clearly shows that Lift did its actual intended job.
Thanks for watching Rodrigo. I hope you had a great Christmas!
Un autre bon vidéo Pan, merci.

@@lordjaashin translation: another great video Pan, thanks!
I saw that Sprayway has an SiO2 wax that is in a spray can. It looks pretty cheap. Maybe you should do a video on that.
What a coincident on snow foams. I ordered the Carpro Lift last week.
Pan, given Lift can remove waxes and sealants, will it also breakdown ceramic toppers like Reload or others like Reload? I was just about to buy Lift and now have concerns. Perhaps only use Lift every once in a while? My cars are ceramic coated.
Legend is back 🇨🇦
Great comparison test and both are great products to use. The ph scale tells me which product to use for ceramic coated or waxed vehicle.
Thank you!
Hi Pan, off topic what’s the best way to rustproof a car? Have you thought of doing a video in that for us Canadians ??
Hehe yeah Reset is still my favourite shampoo for ceramic coated vehicles.
I’m considering purchasing that Car Pro Lift.

Foam cannon: bit.ly/3sDJFmt
very nice comparison👍I have a question . your washing water is softened .. at what level of hardness have you set your softener .. thank you for your answer😀
I don't set the hardness levels of my water. The softener just does its thing. In my previous home, I also had a water softener and had done water hardness levels analysis through a local water treatment specialist. You can see the before and after results here: ua-cam.com/video/G66IR8kS0uQ/v-deo.html
Carpro Lift was the better of the two, but not all cars are ceramic coated. Is the Carpro product ok for non coated cars?
I wouldn't recommend using Lift on cars protected with regular waxes/sealants. This is meant for ceramic coated vehicles.
@@PanTheOrganizer Would it be okay on an unprotected vehicle you want to strip wash, though? At present I use Meguiar's Wash Plus after Purple Power Vehicle & Boat Wash in the foam canon for a strip wash... not always very effective...
Do you always use a pre wash? What do you use on a weekly basis for your 1 2 punch combo for a ceramic coated car.
I always pre-wash yes, 99% of the time, if I'm in no hurry. I wash my car twice weekly. I made a video called "Wash & Talk" where I go through my wash routine with my car here: ua-cam.com/video/OfA6We4Mvak/v-deo.html
@@PanTheOrganizer my brilliant finish foam Cannon keeps rusting at the metal ball does yours do that to?
Hey Pan - is the Lift safe to use with reset as a weekly maintenance wash on a matte finish. The only reason I ask is that Lift is not ph neutral. I just used Lift and Descale and I can definitely see more hydrophobic properties return to my matte finished!
I wouldn't use Lift every week. Once a month perhaps. And for Descale, only use when needed. Perhaps a few times a year for a more thorough decon, like in my ultimate spring detailing tutorial here: ua-cam.com/video/oTaFE_p2OAw/v-deo.html
For weekly washes, CarPro Reset as a shampoo is the best, and a pH neutral snow foam like Koch Chemie Gsf is all you need.
Fun video.

Great video Pan. I love it. By the way seeking your expert help what is the best ratio to dialute CarPro Lift & water if I want to use garden water hose foam gun. Thanks.
I don’t use foam guns unfortunately, so you’ll have to play with dilution ratios and adjust accordingly to your setup and conditions.
can I use CarPro Reset in my foam cannon for a maintenance wash?
You certainly could.
The more into detailing I get, the more I realise you can't go wrong with CarPro!
I agree!
Great video, Pan! Would the Carpro Lift be safe to use on a vehicle with Turtle Wax Ceramic + Graphene wax or would it remove the protection??
Yes that would be ok
So does lyft and reset strip old waxes and sealants off?
People have to stop saying that. Higher alkaline soaps and snow foams can start "breaking down" older waxes and sealants, but can't fully remove them 100%. Machine polishing is still the only way to ensure 100% removal of previous protection. Lift won't strip freshly applied waxes or sealants, it will start breaking them down though.
eii pan sorry for the question again.
The reset shampoo applies to cars with ceramic protection, but there is also ceramic protection in Spray, is it the same thing ?! Ceramic spray can not be used reset right ?
Reset can be used on cars protected with ceramic spray yes.
@@PanTheOrganizer if it is not ceramic, it is not recommended to wash over waxes and common sprays like waxes in carnauba paste is not it?
Only info missing is whether or not it is safe on PPF??
Yes it's safe on PPF. Only scenarios where I wouldn't recommend it is for car protected with regular waxes/sealants. This is meant for ceramic coated cars.
