bluemoon9uk The Sound is from the Album "Live Cult" recorded at the same Show. The sound from this Vid is clearly muted and the performance is in sync with the recording from the Album.
soeffingwhat Incidentally IMO their double album; 'Live Cult - Marquee London MCMXCI' is The Cult's greatest live work eva. And I have listened to heaps of their live gigs. There was just something special about that concert at The Marquee in London on 27 November 1991. Only sayin.
Blackscorpion1963 I think I would agree with you. After that Marquee show they played in Dublin and I really wanted to go to that, but I was in School and there were not many Concerts allowed during Term Time (especially since my Grades weren't great) but there were some exceptions, like Guns N Roses the following Year. I have a few tracks from Live Cult - Marquee London MCMXCI on my Ipod as well as an Audio Tape Recording of their 1989 Wembley Show.
soeffingwhat I would say (not that I was there) their 1989 gig at Wembley Stadium would have kicked some butt. When I was in London on my O.E. from here in New Zealand 1988, aged 24, I got to see Pink Floyd play Wembley Stadium on Aug 6th. I have never forgotten it and I was sober & straight. Best gig I have eva been to in my life.
RIP Michael Lee is right. This is amazing footage to see. Thanks for uploading. I have this live album and I never thought I'd see video of it. Got any more? - Peace.
Perfeito. Ian Astbury. Billy duffy. Kinley Wolf. Michael lee. John sinclair. Esse ao vivo é oficial Da banda e tenho ele na coleção, vale muito a pena. The cult é show, vida longa! Di3go Kost3l@... 🤟😎🎹🎵🎸🖤
Where's the rest of this show? I've been looking for footage from this show for years. Can you post the rest of the rest including the intro? The intro from this show is amazing too. Please please please!
I was and I guess still a member of a Cult forum and someone said they would send me footage but I never followed up on it. I am so glad I thought of looking this footage up late night, because I was curious if someone had finally posted something here on YT. And yes! someone did and I am happy to see it first hand. Wow! what a performance! I need to see more please. Cheers!
Best sounding show I ever seen was Cult at Irvine Meadows Ca. Absolutely blown away at overall sound - guitar was perfect! And I've seen a lot of shows over going back to '75. 2nd best guitar sound was Michael Schenker UFO Cristal clear leads, absolute perfection the entire night, could cut glass.
@@bolo5340 😥 But its painful to hear Ian straining his voice here. His voice is breaking up, and he sounds hoarse, like he's got nodules on his vocal cords. In the first 1/3 of the song, it sounds as if he's been singing his ass off night after night, and its finally caught up with him. It's painful to hear. It's a shame he couldn't have taken a few weeks off to recover before this show. I'm assuming he recovered and went back to singing normally. Singers NEED the services of vocal coaches to teach them how to sing without damaging their voices. Look up what happened to Cinderella's lead singer Tom Keifer. He unknowingly destroyed his vocal cords, because he sung HARD night after night, causing literal paralysis of his left vocal cord in the early 90s! I'm not a big Cinderella fan, but I feel really bad for him. He had to stop singing for quite a long time, and go through surgeries. A few years ago he did like a duet with Lizzy Hale of Halestorm. People were saying that "Tom's back! He's got his singing voice back again". The sad reality was that he only had a fraction of his former voice back.
'91 was a very transitional and tough time for them - the 'grunge' revolution was trying to wash away anything that was considered heavy / hard pop rock from the late 80's - esp. the "hair metal" bands - which Cult was often improperly lumped in with.
He certainly does. It all depends on the sounds techs. Ian’s, on fire live. Billy is just the ultimate professional rock solid guitar player. As always.
im a Very Long time Cult fan, but its always been a real shame to me that he didnt know how to preserve his Kick Ass voice. Either didnt know how or didnt try.

Yep. Fuckin spot on. Some people, I love it, have that, 'Fuck-you-I'm-NEVER-gonna-give-up' attitude. Ian, Billy....
This show defines what rock n' roll is. Period.
Couldn't agree more.
@@dextermorgan8334 Fuck Yes!!!
Amen
RAWR!
Uh yeah....I can't believe only so many views? Wtf people
Michael Lee (RIP) was a badass drummer. This is where he really shined. Perfect fit in The Cult
I wish he would have played the drum solos like the album - those fills were fire.

My band ❤ ..........great song
This line up is the heaviest the cult ever got LONG LIVE THE CULT
The drummer is so freakin on it!!! What a version
For me the best British 80s band isn't U2 but the Cult. Love is an incredible effort
U2 are an Irish. As an example you wouldn't say Led Zeppelin were an Irish band.
Outrageously good. Listened to this live CD back in the day so many times, i could not count.
Michael Lee - what a great musician!! RIP
Just to see Michael Lee Spectacular❤️❤️❤️❤️
THIS THE GIG! THIS IS THE CULT!
This is sooo badass! Duffy absolutely shredded that one!!
Peak form here!! Heavy, loaded, and with tons of swagger!
Ian & Billy 🎸🎵🎶 Fire!!!!

I had the chance to see them live in '92 and it was awesome!!! Billy is still fire! 😍
Michael Lee amazing drummer!
this CuLT band is completely awesome real tight & in the pocket also the sound is splended!
Oh fuck! Saw them at Portsmouth Guildhall in 87 - this clip brings back some awesome memories! Especially that wall of sound from Billy's guitar!
This is fucking incredible, cements the Cults legacy!

1st song I ever heard by them!
I bet you have most of their records now
love !
The bass line tho
amazingl!!! love the cult!!! : D
This is simply ridiculous in a good way…
Wow, just fucking Wow!
I'm bold. In my wildest dreams, me being Ian in this video.
'91 was a very transitional and tough time for them - the 'grunge' revolution was trying to wash away anything that was considered heavy / hard pop rock from the late 80's - esp. the "hair metal" bands - which Cult was often improperly lumped in with.
Dumb
Ooh they tried to lump them in with anything all the time, but it never fit. They are a genre in themselves!
No idea why they got called hair metal. They were too rough for that.
a really great moment of real rock :)
Ian’s Headbanging On Point
amazing footage! great job with the sync do you have any more from this show?
Why are they not in the rock and roll hall of fame
🖤🖤🖤
Billy's guitar is awesome, but dat bassline....
BlackLabelMF pardon me for asking, but who is this tremendous bass player performing with The CuLT please?
Kinley Wolfe.
Easily their best song.
"We are just punk rockers with long hair, that's all"!
WAIL!
I could not go to this gig because my girlfriend at the time had a mood on 🤯
Such a pity Ian has no live voice. For the rest this is f-ing great. Especially Billy is on fire.
You can't blame Ian on this. Sound tech needed to pot the vocals up...Billy is on fire though
He certainly does. It all depends on the sounds techs. Ian’s, on fire live. Billy is just the ultimate professional rock solid guitar player. As always.
No Ian can’t sing live!!
why did they publish this in official LP with ian obviously having damaged voice?
im a Very Long time Cult fan, but its always been a real shame to me that he didnt know how to preserve his Kick Ass voice. Either didnt know how or didnt try.
He smokes
😂
Fuck this shit. From Love as a high plane spiralling fast downward.
Nay, dude the f/× on the guitar = missing. F?"?k the bass on the album drives this vehicle = missing.. not even a good cover mate
Hilarious guitar wank
Muppet
This is so f****ng cool! The Cult is one of the best rock bands ever!! And Ian one of the best frontmen ever! CFFC!
