Howdy from Houston, TX 🇺🇸🇨🇱 and My cousins former college I was serving in the NAVY at the time overseas deployed im retired nowadays served 7 yrs 2007-2014 ?! I was very heartbroken for my older cousin Ryan his former college Texas Western (UTEP) He was on full 5 yrs scholarship for Business Administration class of ‘04, he had a hard time getting over this heartbreaking loss that year. And apparently soon after that Memphis fans from Memphis send a disturbing message on the news saying that only real American 🇺🇸 colleges make it to the Big Dance not Mexico Taco Colleges like UTEP and at the time nothing came of it, but the athletic Director of UTEP and the President of UTEP at that time wanted to sue $$ University of Memphis for that but nothing came of it. It was completely ignored by the media and Tennessee news

That was typed before the StL game. The Tigers had been, for the 7 games prior, very unselfish. But you have to give a lot of credit to StL. They mucked that game up and it frustrated us bad. Hell, they took MSU down to the wire. Not a bad team.

Nothing like seeing 41 winking at the crowd after hitting two 3's to put UTEP up 12, then seeing Randy Culpepper get his sorry ass COMPLETELY taken to school TWICE by Joe Jackson for the hoop and 1. And if that wasn't enough, ol' Randy whined like a candyass schoolgirl after trying to goad Barton into a fight, then he misses the front end of a 1-and-1 free throw. Nice to see him and all his punk friends crying on the bench after the final horn.
UTEP has had 2 years to prove it belongs in the upper echelon of CUSA while Memphis has been rebuilding. Both years they couldn't get the job done. Year 1, they go 15-1 in CUSA, then flame out in the tournament finals. Year 2, they have the tournament in their own building, and with an NCAA bid on the line, choke the game in the last 6 minutes, then flame out in round 1 of the NIT. Time for the Miner pretenders to take their place at the back of the pack, cuz the Tigers gonna roll in 2011!

You broke the record in our house when we were in a rebuilding season. Big whoop. Again, you went 15-1 that season, but still couldn't win the conference tournament. Come talk to me when UTEP has won the conference 4 years in a row without losing a single CUSA regular season or tournament game. Hint: it ain't ever gonna happen.
Talk about the perfect revenge. Utep is so sorry. How you play the tournament in your arena and beat Memphis by 30+ in the regular season points and lose this championship? LOL
Not really, while Barton's really talented, he plays for himself. You saw him in the st louis game, he never passed and just went up the middle each time and threw up a prayer.
Memphis is always the same under Pastner: very athletic, but not disciplined. Memphis can't beat anyone good that plays with patience (i.e. Georgetown, St.Louis, etc.). It's easy to get blinded by the raw talent and the potential, but the whole is rarely the sum of its parts.
