Artest was actually horrible for the lakers. Keeping ariza wouldve been better. This and the game 7 three redeemed him a little bit but in the long run he was part of their downfall.
@@123FUG33you are correct, Lakers do not win Game 7 without Artest, but I also have to agree that if Ariza’s agent didn’t try to walk his baby nuts into every meeting with the Lakers and just took the deal that Artest happily accepted, Lakers don’t need 7 games to beat the Celtics. Boston would have been lucky to get it to 6. Heavy minutes from Radmanovic and Walton are what gifted Pierce the Finals MVP in 08. Like Artest, Ariza solved that problem, but he was also more accurate from 3, tons more athletic and could slash into the lane.
Suns had momentum up to that point they would of won in overtime and the Lakers couldn't stop the pick and roll that game but it was all richardsons fault for not boxing out : next game kobe adjusted and said eff that im taking over
I remember seeing this game and being mad at Artest the whole game for playing like 💩 but this shot made us forget all about that and jump in joy for him! 😭
Damn memories, I had no idea about basketball back then and I remember it growing on me since we watched this whole season and playoffs they taught me a lot sad to know I'm the only one that keeps up with basketball now that lakers haven't been doing good
A year before, Kobe and Ron were bitter rivals, now they become great teammates! The Lakers was the best team that suited Ron! Laker fans were glad to that this team gave him the chance to redeem himself and it paid off!

Ron Artest was the X FACTOR on that 2010 Lakers team. He won't have his jersey retired, but he should have a place of honor somewhere in the Lakers org, same as Pau Gasol

I must be the only person in the world who didn't think Ron Artest's two previous shots were bad decisions. You're only up 3... you need to keep scoring and he's wide open.
I remember hoping to God that the replay will show Artest not releasing the ball on time just so the Suns could win. That game 5 and 6 were some of the most heartbreaking games I've watched being a Nash fan.
I always give Steve Nash a nickname called "ULOAT", unluckiest player of all time. Seriously, who can be more unlucky than him. Everytime it feeels like Steve Nash's team was poised for a breakthrough, his opponent will do some crazy insane things which all you can do is to sit back in awe. Ron Artest's gamewinner is just a example, go look at what Tim Duncan did to Nash's team in 2008. Round 1, game 1, at the end of the 1st OT, when Phoenix led by 3, Duncan attempted the first 3 point shot he ever tried in the season and hit it. And that shot just completely demoralized Phoenix the rest of the series. Imagine forcing Kobe into a airball just to let a role player it a gamewinner, it is just unbelievable.
@@carsinabraham4954 you’re proving his point lmao. Ray Allen always gets brought up, but Ron arrest never does. Why? Is it because everyone knows how great lebron is and so they set very high expectations for him?

This was big actually to win the chip that year too because that was game five and if lakers loss they would've been down by 3-2 and may not have come back 8n the series.
An insanely underrated playoff buzzer beater rarely mentioned. Artest was great for the Lakers.
