      Also a T-Mac with more healthy seasons. Instead of only about 3-4 peak or near peak T-Mac seasons imagine 6 or 7. You could argue him and Hill had about the same number of healthy great years but sadly they didn't coincide.

    • @Jon.A.Scholt
      @Jon.A.Scholt 3 роки тому +12

      Imagine a starting line up players who had their careers cut short because of injuries. You could have Yao up front, Grant Hill, T-Mac, at forwards and Penny and Derrick Rose at the guards. All 5 of these guys are HoF caliber. 3 are in there (Yao, T-Mac and Grant). I think Rose may get in since he was an MVP. Obviously if Penny was going to make it he would have years ago. But all of them were shoe-ins at their peak.
      I'd put Brandon Roy in as sixth man. He was All NBA twice, a second and third team and a three time all star in his first four seasons with no injuries after which he played only one more season. He maybe the most intriguing.
      Danny Granger is another who had an abrupt and after just taking off. He gets a seat on the bench too.
      I know I must be missing a couple, just can't think of them right now.

      It's his genetics and then his environment. Treadwell, East, Kingsbury, and the list of terrible (academically and violently) Memphis public schools got some major "ballers," so Penny plus playing pickup and high school/junior high versus some extremely athletic players made him already "Pro" at freshman year in college. I went to private all-White-boy school and we'd get stomped (steals everytime we ran down the court) by the larger public schools. I hated playing them, the hand-checking went uncalled. Every away game was a loud raucus affair, the smell of popcorn, the craziness of the night. We had a guy who had lampchop sideburns like Elvis and the crowd would make so much fun of him haha
