      I cried like a little bitch at the end, when the buff guy died, and when that asshole threw the girl into the zombie and she chomped on the guys neck while he was crying.

    • @thesmackdragon
      @thesmackdragon 7 років тому +5

      That buff dude was like the Superman of zombie movies! I loved his character. When they were taking cracks at each other in the bathroom stall over phones/ringtones while waiting to run for it. I hated he died, bring him back!

    Train to Busan had me crying by the end, I was very invested in most of the main characters. It's definitely one of my top if not most favorite zombie movie.

    Train To Busan in my opinion the best Zombie movie ever! The action was great, the acting was great, the directing was great. And usually horror movies never catch me emotionally but this movie surprisingly had me emotionally envested in all characters. The Koreans really know how to do horror, can't wait to see more from the director.

      Van Dinh I put all of my money on foreign for Zombie movies, the [REC] series from Spain, Rammbock Berlin Undead from Germany, 28 weeks / days Later from England and a few others too. Americas movies for the most part are just copies of the last movie before them... or in some cases (quarantine, ring, countless other Japanese horror movies)

      For a zombie movie it's alright. It was too cringy for me because they are over dramatic and takes a while for them to take action. Although that short dude was a piss off, glad he died but wasn't too happy that he lasted the entire movie while everyone else died because of him. That made me cringe even more.
      Try watching Pandora if you like Korean/Japanese movies!

    Truth be told Train to Busan is only one worth your time,
    other ones are scraping of the barrel.
    Sure, Train to Busan is pretty much everything you've already seen in Romero's Dead series,
    but it is really well done, well acted, well paced movie experience. .

    • @Dembilaja
      @Dembilaja 7 років тому +2

      While "We are still here" is a movie I certainly wouldn't recommend,
      I appreciate it, it is a tribute to older horror movies, it is even set in 80s.
      It is well done despite small budget, but story is same old, same old.
      As for "Midnight Meat Train", first and last time I've watched it was when it came out, and it was ok to me, but that isn't saying much, since ten years ago I was a teen, back then any trash could impress me.

    • @GusdeShazbit
      @GusdeShazbit 7 років тому +12

      Likewise here. This is how I describe Netflix these days: B movies and shitty documentaries. Of course, that's a slight exaggeration. But, when you see what they have in the States compared to here, how many more good movies they have in particular that we do not have here, there's a tiny bit of truth to that description.

    • @thesmackdragon
      @thesmackdragon 7 років тому +1

      People might categorize it as such, maybe because of the brutal/slasher nature? IDK what genres really are what anymore. Wouldn't call myself an expert. I see tons of 'horror' movies and I'm never scared anymore. Probably getting desensitized lol
      I agree with CW gaming though, that it's not an underappreciated movie. It has a huge cult following.
      And... I might just happen to appreciate the actors. One of which played Light in "Death Note" *whistles innocently* I'm not obsessed.

    I think American Mary is a contender for this list. American Mary is a 2012 Canadian horror film starring Katharine Isabelle, Antonio Cupo, and Tristan Risk and written and directed by Jen and Sylvia Soska. Isabelle plays a medical student desperate for money who begins taking clients from the extreme body modification community in an effort to solve her financial troubles.

    Also...Fans of The Neon Demon would probably like Starry Eyes. Sci-fi horror fans (e.g., Ex Machina) would like Evolution;under 90 min too. Another shorter film is Creep. Gross-out fans might dig Contracted parts 1&2. The Invitation is ideal for fans of claustrophobic horror (e.g., 10 Cloverfield). Comforting skin is kinda cool for something different (Canadian indie). Lotsa good stuff if u know where to look.

    Vinnie Jones was the "star power" that drew me to want to see the Midnight Meat Train. That and the fact I love most anything based on Clive Barker tales. It Follows is on Netflix right now and I highly recommend it. Also:
      The Babadook if you haven't seen it yet. Last Shift was very good for low budget. People like Hush, if you're into slasher/suspense.
      And so is The Den for that genre, if it's still on there.

      Movies on Netflix. Horror category.
      The Babadook. Didnt like it much. I hear a lot of people liked it & I also hear a lot of people didnt. So I guess it's at least been watched a ton. Lol. I thought the boy was annoying. I wouldn't say it was horrible. But wouldn't say I liked it either
      Last Shift. really good. Creepy. And kept me engaged.
      IT Follows. really good
      Abattoir. Another good horror movie. That I don't hear anyone talking about. And idk if its cause people haven't seen it or what. But I really liked it. I want to hear what others thought of it.
      Dream House. Just a good movie. Nice twist.
      The Midnight Meat Train. I liked it
      John Dies at the End. Low expectations but was good
      Viral. Newer selection on Netflix. I liked it
      Dark was the Night
      Deep in the Darkness
      Circle. low budget but I liked it
      TrollHunter. Low expectations going in. But was pretty good
      Haunter. A decent movie
      Stake Land. I liked it. Haven't seen 2 yet
      I have to watch Dead Silence soon. I haven't yet

    Midnight Meat Train was based off of a short story by Clive Barker that can be located in the Books of Blood short story collection (and you should absolutely give it a read, it's great.) I personally didn't like the movie but there is a part towards the beginning that I enjoyed quite a bit. You know when the main character firsts goes to the art gallery? All the paintings on the walls? Works by Clive Barker. Pretty cool, right?
