What other action movies on Netflix do you think should've made this list? Please Note: Movie availability on Netflix is subject to change and differs from country to country.
6:14 “Why listen to critics?” Critics can be too rash or grow to like something that they initially didn't, yes, but saying “Screw the critics,” especially when it comes to a movie you admit is probably not going to stand the test of time, is folly, because people DO listen to critics.
Troll Hunter is a great example of why a huge budget isn't always necessary to make a great movie. They used what they had very well by going the "Blair Witch" route, and making it a faux- documentary. That, combined with the use of Norway's natural landscapes instead of a "set" somewhere, means the money they had would be reserved for the CGI trolls. A smart move, and one that paid off.
Shane Bryant well troll hunter is not fucking The Godfather, the movie is pretty dumb i guess but i love it. might be biased cause i'm norwegian soooo.
If you haven't seen, and love Big Trouble in Little China, the only valid excuse is that you died before it was made. I'm sure you can find a bushman living on the Serengeti plain and just say "Kurt Russell" to him. His response will be "Ahhhh Jack Burton, It's all in the reflexes!"
Lucky Number Slevin is by far one of my best hidden gems that nobody's seen. I love showing it to people and seeing their reaction to the awesome plot, characters and ending. It's super stylish and very witty.
Troll Hunter, The Hunter are great hidden gems, Slevin and The Last Knights are solid too. Finest Hours was really good, but 13 Assassins, wooo, loved that shit
Trollhunter was a filmed that I initially wasn't sure if I would like or not, but I absolutely love it. I've seen it at least a dozen times. Phenomenal special effects.
Though somde of the movies on here should always get hyped to the younger folk, if anyone over 30 doesnt know about 13 assassins already, let alone the cult classic Big Trouble in Little China...then this list is seriously in need of going viral. KEEP OG MOVIES ALIVE!
Alive is one of my all time favorites... It's weird to think that it's not more popular, anyone I know that's seen it says it's one of their favorite movies as well.
oh man, Deja Vu is such a good movie. Not sure why it wasn't a huge hit when it came out. Guess it was just another time the studio didn't support their own movie Alive is also excellent. I've seen it a few times
one that i'd recommend that wasn't on the list is Dead Snow. But make sure you watch the original one and not Dead Snow: red vs dead as they are totally different. They are both good but red vs dead is more of a comedy.
I refuse to believe there are still people who have not seen Big Trouble in Little China. Seriously, me and my brother wore out both the VHS and Beta as kids. In school, everyone knew about it too (90-2004).
"alive" is a must in my opinion "the crow" movie with Brandon Lee should have made the list. I have seen most of these and they are gd now I have to check out that troll movie
Quick note on those that haven't seen 'The Last Knights'. It is a pretty decent retelling of the classic '47 Ronin', in a medieval-fantasy genre. It's good enough to erase Keanu's '47 Ronin'. Thank God Keanu redeemed himself with the John Wick films.
I second Trollhunter. It's not triple-A, but is a pretty good movie on a small budget, and culturally interesting. Doesn't waste time with fluff either.
Last Knights is one of the greatest sword / dramatic movies of all time. I am forever convinced that ratings and comments are rigged. Pls watch that movie for yourself before allowing the critics to poison your well
Honestly I find looper better at suggesting Netflix movies than Netflix itself. On a sidenote is anyone besides me annoyed at how many shows that netflix does? I like so few of them, and truthfully many are actually not based on bad concepts at all. Thing is I think so many would just do better as just a movie than make a whole series out of it. I watched this one it was off a Marvel character it was called "Luke Cage". It wasn't a bad show I watched around 3 episodes of it. After that though it just became repetitive. I would have loved this show as a movie, but as a show I could care less.

Actually it would help if you had a proper education and weren't ignorant of other cultures.
Looper headhunters is awesome
Headshot just came out, its a fantastic Noir-Action-thriller starring Iko Uwais from The Raid.
You mention Tony Scott and don't mention True Romance? It's like you all are reading from a half-assed script....
highly recommend Trollhunter - it is brilliant
"The Hunter" was a great movie.
I saw Trollhunter a few years back happy to see it was on Netflix....pretty cool movie
I think you meant True Romance not True Lies when mentioning Tony Scott. James Cameron directed True Lies
troll hunter is amazing
its ok though studies show ppl who like these cheesey "bad" movies have higher intellect than others
Shane Bryant well troll hunter is not fucking The Godfather, the movie is pretty dumb i guess but i love it. might be biased cause i'm norwegian soooo.
i half expected to quite before the movie was over, but they did a good job of keeping you wanting for more
If you have never seen Big Trouble in Little China, you have bigger problems than finding a movie to watch.
It has been on free to air so many times . Any Kurt Russell fan who hasn't seen it must live in a cave .
Satsujinki1973 LOL
The greatest part about this movie is that except for one major accomplishment, the main character is a total screw up. I love this movie.
You leave Jack Burton alone! We are in his debt!
I don't know if the american netflix differs from the rest of the world but i could find ONE of these titles on netflix
Bob the mighty
It does.
Bob the mighty I'm from latin America
Bob the mighty yep it does. Canadian Netflix is terrible for this. I don't think any of these are on over here either.
yeah dude same here
Actually yeah netflix not only differs from country but what movies and tv shows you watch the most of
Saw Deja vu. Always seemed like I've seen it before.
Wow u said it
"Turbo Kid".........5 star 80's throwback action flick. Highly recommended!
Trollhunter was a filmed that I initially wasn't sure if I would like or not, but I absolutely love it. I've seen it at least a dozen times. Phenomenal special effects.
1:26 : Tony Scott is "the man behind "True Lies" "? I don't think so.
I heard that and thought, er, James Cameron.
lol I think they meant to say "True a Romance"
Ah, yes! :D
13 assassins is a great movie! I've watched it a few times still enjoy just as much each time.
Lol, the only one I can get is "Welcome to the Punch"...
Thanks for sharing all those films I can't see... 😂😂😂
Turbo Kid is a great one to mention here. So full of great 80s action movie nostalgia.
"Finest Hour" was a great real story! Loved it! Troll Hunter also really fun to watch!
Seen a few of these but gonna check out the other ones. We need more hidden gems on Netflix videos please!
13 Assassin's sound pretty impressive and I've seen "Alive" a few times before but not on Netflix, but now I know that I can.
Love these hidden netflix gems. I have over 400 movies and shows on my list with help from these
highly highly highly recommend 13 assassins and the last knights! amazing films!
The Last Knights is one of the best movies I found by mistake! That movie is gold. Watch it now!
Though somde of the movies on here should always get hyped to the younger folk, if anyone over 30 doesnt know about 13 assassins already, let alone the cult classic
Big Trouble in Little China...then this list is seriously in need of going viral. KEEP OG MOVIES ALIVE!
OH and I highly enjoyed LAst Knights, but people crapped on it...philestines.
Train to Busan?
Alive is one of my all time favorites... It's weird to think that it's not more popular, anyone I know that's seen it says it's one of their favorite movies as well.
Troll Hunter is GREAT. Highly recommend it to everyone.
13 Assassin's....EXCELLENT!!!
Big Trouble in Little China was awesome! Everyone should watch it.
oh man, Deja Vu is such a good movie. Not sure why it wasn't a huge hit when it came out. Guess it was just another time the studio didn't support their own movie
Alive is also excellent. I've seen it a few times
Troll hunter is awesome
13 Assassin and Troll hunter were badass.
Man I'm glad last Knights made it on here. Lots of criticism toward that movie. I thought it was pretty good. Thanks Looper!
Welcome To The Punch is awesome!!!! Big Trouble In Little China ia old but still a good movie.
I always find myself scrolling through Netflix only to end up watching pornhub
Ivor I'm fighting for a national pornhub day lol
same af
Pornhub is free?
bjpalm1994 and we shall be greatly appreciative of this lol
Amen 🙏 ha ha ha
13 Assassins was awesome!
thanks so much I needed some new material to watch
Watched almost all of those. All are very good. Haven't seen the beaver one yet though.
tollhunter has to be the best hidden gem movie on netflix for sure. Zombeavers is one of the funniest horror comedies ever too.
one that i'd recommend that wasn't on the list is Dead Snow. But make sure you watch the original one and not Dead Snow: red vs dead as they are totally different. They are both good but red vs dead is more of a comedy.
Okay so, I'm leaving this comment here so I can remember to watch Zombievers
I'm just commenting on your post to help you remember to watch it :)
ZomBiever Holla!
Love the theme song, and there's some nice boobage
I refuse to believe there are still people who have not seen Big Trouble in Little China. Seriously, me and my brother wore out both the VHS and Beta as kids. In school, everyone knew about it too (90-2004).
No no. I agree with almost all these picks except for Last Knights. It is guilty of the one thing an action movie cannot be, which is boring.
I would definitely recommend troll hunter it was a pretty good movie.
13 assassins is a bad ass movie!
For what is worth, I have seen Last Knights and found ti to be very good. Worth the watch if you like films like that.
As of this reply, 'Memento' is on Netflix. Worth a watch.
hey! that troll looks like barack obama... LOL!!!
Hey interesting list but you should've added Spectral to the list
Lucky Number Sleven is good stuff!
See "Troll Hunter". It's awesome. It's horror/found footage/dark humor and it's amazing.
opening statement is so true ,i have looked for something to watch for hours and found nothing lol
How is Alive an action film?!
cooldjdarktan same way a horror comedy is an action film
I saw Big trouble in little China on my mom's dvd and it was awesome
Troll hunter is awesome
highly recommend
Thanks, good stuff.
"alive" is a must in my opinion "the crow" movie with Brandon Lee should have made the list. I have seen most of these and they are gd now I have to check out that troll movie
when you know you've watched nearly all the movies the mentioned and begin to question what are you doing with you life! 🤔
Lucky number slevin was my favorite Netflix movie for a while
Super is one of my favorite movies. It's amazing.
I got a real kick out of it. IMHO Ellen Page stole the show, though.
More than a science or action film, The Hunter is a deeply touching nature conservation flix.
they filmed alive just up past the ski hill near my home town. great film
Tony Scoot the director behind True Lies??? It was Jame Cameron who wrote and directed it.
You know, whenever I see a list like this, I end up thinking "this is on Netflix!?"
Gunn's first superhero film was actually "The Specials".
I second Trollhunter. It's not triple-A, but is a pretty good movie on a small budget, and culturally interesting. Doesn't waste time with fluff either.
What, no Last Train to Busan? Probably one of the best recent zombie films out there.
Isn't there a certain hidden section you can only find on netflix if you have a certain code?
Mrs Bryan no way
Hassan Whiteside Headband you sure? I could've sworn someone told me that.
Mrs Bryan it's a hidden menu where you can see all the content they have, but you can't watch what's not available in your country
Antonio Ferrer how do I get to it?
Mrs Bryan it's codes to get you access to movies only available in specific regions and countries
1:25 - True Lies was directed by James Cameron, not Tony Scott
Tony Scott didn't direct True Lies, that was James Cameron. if anything you could have mentioned Crimson Tide, or even True Romance.
I was pleased with Troll Hunter . I thought it would be cheesey but it was actually a decent movie
I love big trouble in little china!!
The finest hours is a fantastic film.
hey ! ! attraction i guess amazing videt agree
Lucky Number Slevin is also known as "The Wrong Man." which is a better title for it.
Alive is a great movie!
Put jumper on Netflix please.
It was a great movie.
Dude.. that first movie doesn't just resemble 7S.. it looks like a well done re-boot.
Amazed how many of these I've already seen.
lucky numer slevin is awsome one of my favorite revenge movies
Some of these movies are currently on the cable network
"The place beyond the pines"
is a pretty badass movie
Troll Hunters was badass
What about kongfury! or Shaolin Soccer
kung fu hustle
LAST KNIGHTS IS "DVD ONLY" come on mang!
Last Knights is one of the greatest sword / dramatic movies of all time. I am forever convinced that ratings and comments are rigged. Pls watch that movie for yourself before allowing the critics to poison your well
Trollhunter isn't on my Netflix so is this the list for the American Netflix
Honestly I find looper better at suggesting Netflix movies than Netflix itself. On a sidenote is anyone besides me annoyed at how many shows that netflix does? ALL good MOVIE!!
Lucky number slevin, trollhunter or zombeaver are NOT available in the UK!!
You had me at Morgan Freeman
I would recommend utburd. A norwegian horror movie.
ive already watched like 4 of these movies
There is nothing "hidden gem" about Big Trouble In Little China... Everyone loves Big Trouble In Little China...
Tony Scott directed True Romance not True Lies that was James Cameron...
Last Knights: I demand a sequel!
Rain Wilson ?
Allen Page ?
Umm Daredevil ?
or Deadpool ?
DAFUQ
Last Knights is essentially a swords and sandals version of the 47 Ronin story
dragon blade starring jackie chan is pretty good, i enjoyed
Demi-Louella McDermott
shafa ullah songs
