We are now doing weekly aerial flyovers depending on the support that we get. Our cost range from pilot fees to rental fees of the Cessna 172 that is used for the flyovers over the sites.
We have an opening in our team for more experienced writers! If you have writing experience and would want to take part, feel free to join the discord and open a ticket to let the mods know!

Thanks for Watching! - Наука та технологія
Wow!!! Thanks for the wonderful words about me!!! I appreciate you all!!!
Best narrator so far! Accent isn't too thick since his diction is near perfect and the the timber of his voice is right in the sweet-spot for my ears. Granted, my ears are a bit older than some but that doesn't skew my opinion much. One vote for Geoff!!
We're happy you enjoyed it so much!
geoff did a great job! at times still sounds a little like he's reading from mauricio's script (same could be said for all narrators), perhaps letting them customize a bit so it sounds most natural for the speaker. loved the new business and competition analysis part of this video. space is a growth industry at the moment and fun to see how one thing ties into another
Bring back Mauricio. It's his video footage, his script, and his expertise. He was perfectly clear.
Geoff is great, very professional VO
Thanks @mrgriply. It was my first ever voiceover, enjoyed doing it and thank RGV for the opportunity.
@@geoffallan Agree, you did a great job!
Very ST:OS to have a Scottish accent explaining the space engineering.
Nice work Geoff, even if Indnstar is a fav of mine..
Mauricio -- You're beginning to sound like an Scotsman!😏 Perhaps it's from the high altitude flights?🌩 GREAT episode!
As an Irishman I think you’ll find Geoff is 100% Scottish
Ooooops! What was I thinking??!!@@mrgriply
@@Klaatu-ij9uz Quite alright, we Irish share a lot of DNA with our fellow Scots
That is not the voice of a Irishman, lilting and musical, that is a Scotsman voice able to grate cheese and polish steel! Geoff you did a good job.
These flyover episodes are great, thanks for all the efforts behind it! In my opinion the diversity of speakers on this channel was a plus and certainly not an issue. Geoff does an excellent job and so were Mauricio and Indnstar. Please continue to be different in such a nice way ;)
Oh man .... great voiceover on this one. Not too slow, not too fast,. Clear, lively, engaging, reading from a script but sounding mostly conversational.
Content, as usual, top notch and very informative.
My only gripe, and it's an ongoing one, is why the clickbait titles? Either just mention the most interesting observation, or actually take a swing at answering the question you pose.
"Launching Next WEEK?!"
"I uh oh"
Better, accurate, detailed. A hit!
I've always said it, Geoff has the best announcer voice ever!!! I'm not just talking about space related stuff. I mean EVER!!!! GREAT WORK!!!
Geoff did an amazing job this episode, I'm sure he appreciates the love!
BEST. EPISODE. EVER!!!! Nicely done Geoff & team!!! Keep it up!!!
Geoff needs to do audio books! I'd 'read' more.....🤣🤟
Holy crap, huge change in quality. Thank you, I'm back as a watcher. Very nice work
Huge quality improvement. Great voiceover. This is the first time for a few weeks that I have watched till the end
Arrgh!! So many videos! How can I keep up? Just kidding, you folks are awesome! Geoff, you did a great job narrating! Big big shout out to the folks that did the renders. They are so helpful in understanding what is going on and they are much appreciated.
You guys are a crucial part of understanding Starbase for all of us, thanks so much.
P.S. The slider is fun but basically useless in order to see differences for us since there is a hundred things to look at lol.. Its much more useful for us to pause it and use our arrows to go back and forth looking at the differences, but now the slider is just stuck in the middle of the screen when we do.
It would be a cool thing if we could control it from our end but on these its better to just have the two pics for a few seconds.
Thank you!
We actually started providing a slider for our patrons recently that is almost exactly like you describe! We had a brief showcase of it in Episode 17 at 6:01 if you want to check it out!
SCOTLAND!!!!!!!, Great episode!
It would be helpful if more than one one swipe of the slider were consecutively included. Perhaps also with highlighting or arrows indicating changes.
Such a powerful tool could be a much better communicator than is presently used.
More pleasant and completely enjoyable, professional quality content. Please never do anything less! :)
I love Geoff voice and Mauricio voice also !
No hate for other presenters but killer, if we don't have jack this is our best alternative
Great review as always. As a test, I played this video in a lift and it was able to recognise the accent and go to various floors without any bother. A braw addition to the voiceover team!
Eleven!!!
Great voice over! ❤
Best video yet!!!
Great episode - like the rotating narrators!
Nice nice job! Definitely improving your information narrative. Jeff, was delightful. Mauricio. You’re doing a great job, thank you!
Great updates, RGV !!! Keep em coming !!! 🤟
Payload bay size doesn't matter as much as cost of mass to orbit. Reusable second stage is the key. Look at Falcon nine's first stage. Pushing 20 launches. Amazing.
Agreed! Best yet, clear, informative and professional. Keep it up.
Thank you! We're happy the changes we're implementing have made such a positive impact!
Excellent Update! Geoff did a great job! This was the final pice that will will make this channel POP!
The upper floor of the new building at Massey has a good view of test sites. Looks like it will be the test control room. Probably an office below and a warehouse at the back for high value/fragile equipment
Awesome video and the narrator did a fantastic job. Thanks heaps.
Stretching Starship, will very likely require MecaZilla to be increased in height.
Those mystery pieces. Given what looks like a similar geometry to the base plate being constructed next door to them, I wonder if these aren't support legs that go underneath the finished base plate.
Plate on the ground, raptors go on the plate, plate gets lifted up into position from the outside edges, three legs (mystery pieces) fold down as a mechanical support to the platform.
Just a guess, based mainly in the shape and size of the pieces. I feel like the short flat end would align quite neatly with the inner cross beam of the platform.
Great work team!!
Thank you!
Many people think the two Mega-Bays means building 4 boosters at any given moment. I think that is wrong. I think it what we have here is 4 stations for a single rocket. For example, the first WHITE ring in Mega-Bay 1, to your left looking through door towards left is Station 1, White ring to the right of door is Station 2. From Station 2 a very short ride to Mega-Bay 2 (stations 3 & 4) is Station 3. SPTM drives straight in, overhead crane does a lift and places booster on station 3. From station 3 we get a quick lift by overhead crane to Station 4. Rollout for OLM testing and we have a rocket.
Thanks!
Thank you!
Thank you for the update
Nice one! Thanks
great content
Nice video RGV! They recently released NOTAMs for the 15th, I think.
So, what happened to Mauricio?
Cool 😎 👍
There is a limit to how much they can stretch the payload bay as the chopsticks can only go so high.
The limit is the upper support points. The stretch may still continue if the support points do not rise.
Did you guys kidnap Scott Manley? (sorry, Geoff)
Hahaha, but I pronounce my T's? lol
@@geoffallan Man, I just snort-laughed at your reply. My daughter was soooo confused.
any suggestions to rent a plane to fly over the sites?
I have been wondering about the payload capacity of starship for a while and if its really going to be as good as they advertise
For now it is 100+ tons, but with better Raptors that will increase. Also note that is the load for a returning ship. If it is a disposable one then 250 tons is possible. We are still in the prototyping stages, so much can change.
@@knowledgeisgood9645the capability of the engines is one thing... It's the geometry of the payload bay which is inefficient. I didn't realize how tiny the usable inside space was. They definitely need to stretch the starship.
@@Barthhhelona It depends on the type of cargo you want to launch. We already know of 6 different variants of Starships, before even having one reaching orbit. I am sure there will be many more as time goes on.
What the hell is that giant wall all about??
👍👍👍🇮🇳
I can hear the musk rats, yeh we learned a lot from this failure
And you bitter little haters and your constant predicting doom. Then again none of you are terribly bright.
Any failure creates a tremendous amount of data, especially with a prototype. But the main question is, are you from the future or have you ignored every other program developing a complex launch system? Understanding weakness makes you stronger. I'm still confused by your comment though. Where did Elon touch you to make you this way?
What happened to Mauricio? Vacation? Had to turn himself in?🤭🤭🤭
Sorry 😢I don't want to sound mean, but I disagree. It is hard for me to follow along when the narrators don't have a command of American English. We have another u-tube community that I have the same problem with. I appreciate the content and please don't stop what you are doing.
He's hard for you to follow? Wow.. well, those are your limits I guess.
I agree. I had to replay certain parts 3 or 4 times to make out what he was saying. But overall he's fine.
Lunching next week, of course. Sorry launching, no way, crashing for sure, their computer system. This thunderbird is going nowhere
Every human being on the planet wants to see this second test succeed.
