In all fairness, the Vinfast VF8 does okay in some areas and above average in many other areas. This, coupled with the NHTSA 4-5 Star Safety Rating, I think it is overall a competitive brand-new EV on the road and a promising one.

Thank you for your attention. It is also worth evaluating a car in terms of the car company's speed in handling problems and the level of listening to users. In Vietnam, the company updates continuously and fixes most errors after the first 6 months. Currently, the 2024 version is very stable and replacing the suspension system, it is much smoother and more comfortable, suitable for USA.
So many Vinfast bots/shills in these comments saying “the 2024 fixes all the issues”. Astroturfing doesn’t work when it’s so obvious. That said, it does look like Vinfast has put in the work over the last year to overcome the initial issues, and now it feels like the VF8 is a competent EV, comparable to a Toyota bz4x or similar. An acceptable commuter/city car with _occasional_ road-trip chops. Honestly, it seems like their biggest problem is their anemic dealer/service network, and the price has to come down significantly. But the product itself is acceptable now. And unlike Fisker, Vingroup has some staying power.
I think we should give them more time, anyway look at Tesla's early years when they first made the car, their problems were more than this car. Now, Tesla cars are selling very well. Give them another 3 - 5 years and they may no longer exist or they will truly develop into a reputable brand with good quality. However, this 2024 version also proves that they have improved and listened to customers' opinions. row. In the near future, I heard that in the last quarter of this year they will sell their VF9 car in the US. According to information, I know that this car has much better quality because the company has invested heavily in it. The problem I think is the least attractive of the car is the price. Importing from Vietnam and not receiving subsidies from the US government causes the price of the car to increase quite a lot, making it stand at the price of a segment. different cars, but nonetheless their lease is much more attractive than Tesla's.

Tommy's Hyundai comparison is flawed. Hyundai launched Excel @ $4,995. Then offered 10 year warranty. They gave reasons to buy Hyundai. Vinfast has given no single reason to buy.
@@damilolaakanniyou're proving your own point. To this day plenty of people (mainly Americans) still refuse to believe that Hyundai's are generally very reliable. Comparable to Japanese brands.
Hyundai was selling cars for 12 years in the US before offering the 10yr powertrain warranty. Hyundai sold purely on price for over a decade before throwing in that warranty to further entice buyers. I bought a Hyundai new in 2010 and owned it for 5 years. The warranty was worthless. Unless there was a CEL or other light on, they wouldn't even investigate issues. I gave Hyundai a chance and will never buy another regardless of price/warranty.
I think for the current lease deals I am seeing for $199 with $999 up front, might be compelling enough. Maybe. $199 a month is less than three tanks of gas in my older Navigator.
Cybertruck is either Love or Hate. Everyone feels strongly about it one way or the other, but at leat everyone feels strongly about it. The Vinfast is just... somewhere between bad and meh at best, which I'd argue is an even greater sin, especially in such a competitive market segment with no standout features or price
The only thing that matters in corporate America is stock price. Happy customers and top quality is secondary. I prefer Japanese cars and trucks over US ones. Toyota is going astray, but I’m sure they’ll figure it out.
I doubt Tesla's really worried about Vinfast. The VF8's charging speed is slower, it's less efficient on a bigger battery than its competitors, and the software improved, but it still needs further revisions. Besides, I dont think the hundreds of thousands of people ordering new Teslas care if a panel is only off by a millimeter.
If fast charging at, say, 120-150kW is optional - should the manufacturer say so? The Ford Mach-e only preconditions battery for fast charging when Ford Navigation option is active. $80/year to fast charge? Sheeesh

I can't think of a consumer EV that lets you fully disable the traction control. An electric motor is basically an on/off switch if no current control is in place. No matter what you need to have some amount of traction control in place. Otherwise you get a result like this where you have 100% of the torque immediately and you end up with an uncontrolled situation. As much as I love a good burn out, I would say this is a dangerous design. It's totally uncontrollable. Vinfast really should patch that.
It's obvious that this guy has a preconceive bias against the VF8 and was trying his best not to let his bias come through. His main complaint seems to be that VF8 is a well put together car but not the best. Tickle me silly with that logic.
Sorry Tesla fans, but the interior of this car is nicer than the interior of a Tesla. In this car, the shape of the headrest together with the seat is more beautiful. Actually, to answer that question, you have to answer the question of how long it takes for a car company to get its capital back after investing in factories, stores, test drives and cooperation everywhere in the US. In all fairness, the Vinfast VF8 does okay in some areas and above average in many other areas. This, coupled with the NHTSA 4-5 Star Safety Rating, I think it is overall a competitive brand-new EV on the road and a promising one. This positive review on the VF8 fit & finish is consistent with what I thought when I first test drove it in early 2023.
I was wondering if you were using her car, now that I know, don't break her car,😄. Been looking at what Vinfast is doing and they have a few nice looking EVs coming, don't how well it will sell, but I do like the look of the VF7 and VF6. I tried VF7 before. Surely, you will love it. The acceleration is amazing and the stable of the car is more than what you expected. You should try the VF7 Plus someday..
The driver monitoring system is a requirement for the EU. It has to turn on again after every new start.
Yes, it does. And Francie, vf8 owner, is complaining about its. Alway be return active mode when she unlocks the cars. But it is rules.
It's just software. They should be able to use GPS to determine if the car is in an EU country & have EU specs. Many of the problems Francie has had with Springroll are due to the software problems from Vinfast. In the EV world, software is key.
@@michaelterrazas1325 yes it is the core, but with a new company I don't expect it to be as good as the iOS operating system is as good as the iPhone, let's see if they can still stand in 3-5 years, if they are still there I think in Americans' car buying list will have a new name to consider.

Thank you for your attention. It is also worth evaluating a car in terms of the car company's speed in handling problems and the level of listening to users.

In the near future, I heard that in the last quarter of this year they will sell their VF9 car in the US. Importing from Vietnam and not receiving subsidies from the US government causes the price of the car to increase quite a lot, making it stand at the price of a segment. different cars, but nonetheless their lease is much more attractive than Tesla's.

By reviewers, yes.
Tesla should be embarrassed that this brand new car from a brand new brand has a much better build quality than them.
The only thing that matters in corporate America is stock price. Happy customers and top quality is secondary. I prefer Japanese cars and trucks over US ones. Toyota is going astray, but I’m sure they’ll figure it out.
Tesla maybe not the best choice yet but still far better than this new brand. Period
I doubt Tesla's really worried about Vinfast. The VF8's charging speed is slower, it's less efficient on a bigger battery than its competitors, and the software improved, but it still needs further revisions.

Actually, to answer that question, you have to answer the question of how long it takes for a car company to get its capital back after investing in factories, stores, test drives and cooperation everywhere in the US. You will only do one thing when it is truly profitable, otherwise, after just one year, you should scale down your operations. Look at the company and you'll see.
