Honda Prologues will charge at Tesla Superchargers. Use the Tesla app and under vehicle details put Chevy Blazer EV. Took 30 to charge from 40% to 85%.
We just leased a Touring 2WD with $0 money down, $0 due at signing, 3 years with 12k/year, 2.09% APR (0.00087 money factor) for $360.00/mo. There are some INSANE lease deals going on right now for the Prologue
I decided to lease one when the lease deals got pretty good recently, to have a reliable/under warranty second car to drive around for the household. Mainly intended for local runs and short trips, of which I have many but not enough for the overall miles to pile up too quick. No interest in road-tripping with this car and playing games hunting for chargers away from home. Charging at home is pretty easy with a basic level 2 charger, I have only used public chargers a couple of times to test them out and my experience was that they were super easy to use. All-in-all it's been good so far and I like it.
I really love my Prologue. It's a very comfy car to drive. I found it more comfy than Tesla. I have no regrets, other than the network. Going out on a roadtrip was difficult. We found cut cables, charger communication issues, and very slow charges for some reason. For 98% of the time it's a local car, so no worries there. I still haven't driven my gas car yet, that's for the next road trip. And no, I didn't buy the Prologue, I leased it. I just don't think one should purchase an EV just yet.
I have been concerned already about the number and locations of recharge stations but the high percentage of 'out-of-service' charging stations is REALLY concerning. I'll stick to my hybrid Accord for now.
You said no one should purchase an EV yet and just left it as that. Tesla? Hello? If you want an EV get a Tesla. Tesla is not all EVs. I had no problem doing a Tesla road trip
You guys blow right past one of the most unique features of the interior. The wireless charger is located in the most convenient spot I’ve ever seen in a car, perfectly angling the phone so you can still see the top of it and easy to reach. Most cars you have to put the phone down low or inside of some sort of contraption to charge.
I just leased an elite and I tell yeah its enough power without getting yourself in trouble. I have it in black and its a head turner. I live in Las Vegas and no charging issues, i think if your city has a poor charging network your in trouble. Get the tesla adapter
The title seems unfair as the issue with charging is an issue any non tesla would have had in Southern California and who knows what the Tesla charging situation is in that area. They have a lot of Teslas down there. Also GM just got the ability to charge using Tesla chargers and that’s not mentioned in the videos and they should have know it was on the horizon. I’ve test driven this car in the top trip and an AWD Blazer EV. I prefer the Prologue. If you can get a good lease deal on it would be a very nice starter EV as it is very normal. It has normal car looks, normal door handles and nice buttons and switches. The infotainment doesn’t look as cool as the one in the Blazer EV but it has wireless Apple CarPlay and some may prefer the way it is designed. The instrument cluster is very nice and configurable. You can easily put the map in there with a press of the button. If you get the top trim of the Prologue you get everything Honda offers in the Prologue, nice and simple. Not so with the Blazers where you really need to do an investigation to figure out what each car gets. Honda enthusiasts are hard on this car because it’s a GM but my worry with buying this is more with Honda than GM. They are obviously not all in with EVs and I’d worry about long term maintenance as I’m not sure how long Honda will offer this car. Oh, and this is a big car, so that might appeal to some. It’s unusually large for an EV in the price point.
Indeed, a number of Tesla owners have now posted videos showing them successfully chagrined with a Tesla supercharger and a third-party NACS adapter. So the charging part of this video is already outdated.
What we really need, which I'm starting to see more in western Canada, is gas stations putting in EV chargers. They're already in the right places, and have bathrooms, snack, and "car stuff" like windshield cleaners. Just add some fast charger stalls, use the same payment system (no stupid apps), and adapt with the times for the betterment of all Sadly i actually road trip every month, basically, on a packed schedule, so EVs still aren't for me. But better charging or just massively bigger batteries will get me there, and i can't wait! (And yeah hopefully some EVs still have android auto once we're there 🙃)
Petro Canada does EV charging, and they're (in my opinion) intentionally terrible at it. They leave their stations in poor or broken states for literally years. I believe they have a vested interest in people buying gas, so anything they can do to make the EV experience worse, they'll do.
@@NomenClature-o8s Exactly. Being a Controls Engineer where I deal with numbers all day long, I did the math using the numbers you provided. So, if we use a large station like Loves or pilot. The kind of station you find along most freeways. If that station had 5 islands with 4 pumps (2 per side) for total of 20 pumps. At 5 min/vehicle each pump can do 12 cars/hour. That means the station can do 240 cars/hour. So, if the same station had 20 fast chargers, and the charge time was 30 min. The station could do 40 cars/hour.
I wonder how many of these chargers are down due to vandalism. Since so many of them are located in remote areas of shopping center parking lots, it seems that it would be difficult to prevent unwanted tampering. I would love to see more charging stations adopt the gas station model of having attendants and convenience stores. I feel like that would help prevent vandalism and keep users from accidentally breaking chargers due to not knowing how to properly use them.
There seem to be more vendors putting in DC fast chargers, which is better than 2-3 years ago when I had the Audi e-tron however, I tended to use Electrify America (free charge credits) and had to wait a couple of times when the chargers weren't delivering the max charge speeds, maybe due to heat (was a hot summer) or other issues. They need to build stations like they do for ICE cars to provide shade/rain protection, more charging points, along with convenience stores with food and restrooms. With the Chinese brands rolling out cars that can charge at 10.5 minutes at higher charge speeds, it's only a matter of time before these long waits become a thing of the past.
I love my Prologue Elite. It’s everything I was looking for. The Model Y is too small and low to the ground. This has an SUV feel, just like my old GMC Jimmy. It’s not as big as a Pilot, and bigger than a Passport, both good points. It is very comfortable and attractive. I looked at every EV out there and choose this because it’s not a Tesla, and, unlike any GM product, you get wireless Car Play, a big need in my family. Imagine spending this kind of money and being told no Car Play available. Well, that’s the problem with the Blazer, Equinox, Sierra, and Cadillac Lyriq. Also, there are a lot more Honda dealerships out there than Tesla stores. I’ve put almost 6,700 miles on it since July and it’s been great. I get 4.7-miles per kW range, which is about 354 miles at an 80% state of charge when the temperature is above 65 degrees. It’s in the mid-30’s in Denver now and my range is down about 10% but it’s more than adequate for our needs. I haven’t had any problems finding available chargers that work all over Colorado and I think your complaints about charging in SoCal are dumb in a review of the vehicle. The charging networks have nothing to do with the quality and performance of the vehicle. My biggest complaints are that the Honda dealers have not been adequately staffed and trained in both sales and service to deal with this EV, although that situation seems to be improving. My one suggestion would be do not accept the Honda portable or home wall charger. Both of them suck as evidenced by huge numbers of complaints from owners in FB Prologue groups and Reddit chats. Take the full $750 EVgo chargings and buy a Chargepoint Home Flex Level 2 charger. It and its app work flawlessly. Grizzl-E and Emporia Level 2 chargers work really well, too. And now, Ubiquity just came out with its own charger. I might buy one of those. Tesla has a new Universal Wall Connector charger that has a J1772 adapter built in, like a Magic Dock Supercharger. If you also have an EV with a NACS port, the Universal Wall Connector is perfect solution for charging both a J1772 and a NACS vehicle in the small garage. The availability of Level 2 home charging is the game changer. Charge at home whenever you can because during off-peak hours, you’ll get 5x the range per $1 spent for energy than with gasoline. I used to spend $375 a month in gas for my 2017 Subaru Outback. Now, I’m spending maybe $30 a month charging, not counting the money I get back from net metering my solar generation and free “fill ups” at free public EV chargers. Colorado is an EV friendly state and that suits me just fine.
So, with the adapter I could charge the Prologue with my existing Tesla wall charger? We are considering leasing one of these and this would be the only reason we wouldn’t if I can’t utilize my existing Tesla wall charger.
Tesla added the prologue now in their app. At this point when you do that you'll see the Gen 4 Tesla Chargers as available (I think we only have one of these in the whole state I'm in). You still, at this point, need to enter your car as a Blazor EV in order for the Gen 3 stations to additional show up to use (and we have tons of these in the state). The original tesla chargers don't work though (including the one closest to me). Just the newer ones ie the Gen 3 and 4 ones.
As long as you buy the ones approved by GM and Tesla, as it can void your warranty. There is a disclaimer about that in the app when you activate the feature. Pay a bit more, but don't void your battery warranty
10:48 The issue as is often the case is user error. He is touching the credit card for payment to the RFID reader which is for loyalty cards instead to the very obvious credit card terminal which is in the center bottom of the machine between the two handles. I find the confusion between RFID readers and credit card NFC tap to pay terminals is a common source of payment error that manufacturers of equipment need to do a better job of differentiating to users. For example if the charger detects an incorrect RFID input it should redirect the user to the credit card terminal for payment or better yet advise to insert chip into the credit card reader instead of trying to use tap to pay
Out on the East coast of Canada in the largest city East of Montreal we still only have 1 DC fast charger in the city that is available, and the next closest is about 100km away. Public AC charging is also mostly nonexistent. The fact you had multiple DC fast chargers within 9 miles astounds me, we are only now getting additional chargers built and even that is only in one city. We are so far behind.
We're pretty slow in NS for sure. Out of the 3 maritime provinces NB is the clear headliner and each city has multiple options for EV charging (regardless of the EV brand/charger type). Irving Oil are installing their own EV fast charging stations at Irving Gas Stations, so thats a good addition (PetroCan did too but they've dropped the ball and let their stations fall into disrepair). Hopefully things keep improving. I just got my first EV a month ago, no real challenges that I've run into in HRM or traveling to NB or PEI, but NS is still, noticeably, behind the curve.
I am actually genuinely shocked that a place with such extreme left wing politics like Montreal doesn’t have more chargers. I say that because as TFL found out for themselves, EVs ARE a political issue, at least in the United States.
@MichaelMiller-rg6or Montreal and most major parts of Quebec have excellent infrastructure it's just once you head East toward the maritime provinces that charging locations drop off drastically
No worries, if that charger is taken just drive up to Truro for the 200kw ones there! Just an hour each way. This was why, back in 2021, I got a PHEV. Gas and go on road trips. Top up for EV mode for all the daily city driving. It's really great for our area.
You must not be counting the various Flo 50kw chargers? Good news, a 6 bay 350kw electrify canada station will be opening shortly in Bedford Commons, and another 6 bay 350kw station just opened in amherst. Don't try to do the cabot trail though!!!
Southern California seems to have worse charging than any place else in the US because of the high EV to charger ratio and probably the number of people who rely primarily on DC Fast Charging. Out of Spec has a video on the issue. And, as they mentioned, EV drivers would be using Apps or their nav system to navigate to an available charger rather than driving around looking for one that's available.
I honestly think some of these videos have weaponized incompetence. Most if not all EV charging stations have online status that shows when they're in use and/or out of service. So driving up to a broken one and driving to a charging station where they're all in use is just dishonest.
Very surprising that you found So Cal so lacking in fast chargers. I charge at home now, but on a road trip up through the middle of the state (California 99) into Idaho I had some anxious moments but overall it was successful. I needed to use Google Maps on my phone as well as my Polestar's onboard Google Maps (they found different stations!). It was almost all Electrify America plus a couple of Shell chargers at their gas stations.
I think complaining about the Honda/GM partnership is being blown out of proportion. I have never owned a GM product or a Honda product. I leased a Prologue a couple of weeks ago. I love the car. I wouldn’t know a GM knob or a GM chime. These things are being over emphasized in most videos about this car. The question is is it a good car and not about the knobs or the chime.
As an avid skier I hit the hills nearly every weekend. Studded Hakkapeliita tires cost probably 15-20% range on the highway, my Thule ski box cost range, the typical westerly headwinds that are so common in winter months had a huge impact on range, naturally, the cold weather and the reality that the car had to sit outside nowhere near a full lug in for several days at times. Yeah, wasn’t for me, way too many compromises. Was awesome to use from work/home though!
ive eaten at the Knotts chicken house so many times its our family favorite last time i was there my pop had died and the whole family went to eat there after the funeral, we have had weddings parties, anniversaries, and birthdays there too
Back in May, my wife and I test drove the Prologue Touring. We were planning to replace our Pilot Touring, with the Prologue Elite. The Prologue is a suitable replacement for the Pilot but not at $60K and up. So we decided to explore the used market and purchased a 2022 BMW iX M50 with under 8K miles, instead. It was cheaper than the Prologue Elite and we got a lot more for our money... Viva La Depreciation.
BMW iX is a far more superior car with much longer range, comfort while cruising, space inside, in the luggage compartment. Once again no frunk whatsoever.
Thankyou Fellers for sharing your thoughts. Love the body lines, length and height of this vehicle. Too bad you can't get one with the Ridgeline's V6. AWD and lifted, even better. V6 Trailsport Prologue !!!! Make it happen Honda.
Well done you three that was crazy. Alex so phenomenal sir. ❤. Nate this is exactly why you need to come back home. Immediately The charging stations are dangerous. Especially in the winter ❄️.
I'm surprised that there aren't a few suppliers of the EV "skateboards" instead of each OEM spending billions on EV tech. Nice review. Like the conversation.
I drive my Bolt from DC to NYC often and I never have so much trouble finding a charger, if they are full I simply wait 10 minutes later someone always finishes and it's my turn. I've been pleasantly surprised that they aren't usually full. I ordered my Tesla converter yesterday who knows when it will show up, but it will be a nice back up.
I also have a BOLT ( 2015 VOLT too) 0:03 , which I mostly use for commuting. Did a 350 mile trip in December and that was the last one. The car is ok, but those chargers are a disaster. If I go a distance, I use the VOLT. No need to worry about this hassle.
I’ve seen a few Prologues driving around my area in Ohio and I like the styling and size (very wide rear). Saw a blacked out Prologue last night on the road and loved it. ❤
Depends on where you live and what you use the car for. The person that drives to work and back, charges at night, can care less if there is fast charging nearby. All he need to do is get to the first fast charger on the highways and he can travel anywhere.
Hopefully the opening of Tesla’s network to other manufacturers will help mitigate some of the issues we’re having today. But even then, we have a long way to go. For now plug in hybrids seem like the best of both worlds.
@@insainllama Or people who could be driving BEVs are being told hybrids are the way to go and that will slow the growth of the charging network. Even worse it has car companies investing in hybrid tech which will become obsoleted by BEV.
@@danharold3087 Naw. I've driven hybrids primarily for about 15 years. I switched to EV's 5 years ago and haven't looked back. It's like going from a flip phone to an iPhone. 🤷🏻♂
@@gildardo The dealer I went to was set on MSRP but did remove all add ons like window tint, ppf, door edge gaurds. They said there was $1500 off if I financed tho. Apparently Honda has squeezed dealers with less margins from what I've read. Less profit for dealers means fewer deals for us. Also there was a decent selection from the less expensive base model to the fancy trimmed out hybrid. All the CRVs they had were 2025s.
@@IronmanV5 In theory yes. I own a Cadillac Lyriq. I’ve tried several Tesla Superchargers with mixed results. EV’s are great commuter cars, for long trips I take one of my ICE vehicles.

Please please start mentioning whether the sunroofs open or not. Virtually nobody mentions that critical point on any channel anymore and it seems so fundamental. It appears most don't open anymore and that's a deal breaker for my family. Thank you.
@@Cloud30000 dude there's TONS of vehicles out now with "panoramic sunroofs" that don't open... And yes I'd say they're technically moonroofs if they're glass. Sunroofs are metal.
I don’t know who started this trend of non opening sunroofs but I hate it. It really seems to be the case with EVs. The entry Lucid is a nice car, especially at the price, but the lack of an opening roof is a deal killer.
I seem to remember when EV's started, every "expert" stated the infrastructure was way behind the car manufacturing industry and we are now seeing the results of that.
Sticker price is huge close to the cost of an Audi. But most dealers are discounting and also giving a 12k rebate from Honda so I leased mine for $300 per mo.
Problem is too many cheap free loaders use the free DC fast charging that comes with the car for local driving instead of charging at home. DCFC is only for long distance driving but it’s being clogged in California with too many free loaders. Hyundai and a few others need to get rid of the free charging plans ASAP
I checked one of these out last week and didn't actually drive it because after sitting in the car with the salesperson for ten or fifteen minutes the A/C wasn't even close to catching up. A friend's Lyriq, which I otherwise love, has weak A/C as well, but I had some hope for the Honda, at least in the front seat, as the A/C vents are much more conventional. Too bad for me, as there is currently a very compelling Prologue EX AWD lease deal.
Last week, Me and my wife shopped various manufacturers for similar EV’s. We test drove the Honda Prologue and we loved the vehicle, but there were so many quality issues we had to pass. We ended up going with the Mach-e and couldn’t be happier. Paired with the ability to charge at Tesla chargers, it was hard to pass.
Any thoughts on the Emporia charger that Honda now provides? Also reading that one has to choose between hardwiring or the NEMA plug. What are the pros and cons of each during installation? I just signed the lease paperwork for the Prologue and was told the Emporia charger will be delivered to the dealer.
Also curious if anyone has gone with additional surge protection during installation? I am reading that the Emporia Level 2 charger has basic surge protection but is enough to protect during bad weather days? No experience here so would love some commentary in this regard.
I bought a Prologue Touring. I've had it 3 months now. It's more of a family car or someone that wants a roomy, nice ride car. It is quicker than most ice cars but not as fast as most EVs, why do you need that any ways? Pretty much the same infotainment center as the Blazer, just not all the colorful icons. It has Apple Play and Google play which GM doesn't. I would recommend it to someone that wants an EV and can charge at home. Do people realize that the fast you charge your car, the worse it is on your Battery? It will degrade faster and not last as long?
The problem is, a lot of people can’t charge at home and if that doesn’t change by 2035, which it probably won’t, people will have no choice but to use fast chargers as their sole means of charging. Chargers need to get faster, and batteries need to be designed to withstand constant fast charging. Otherwise there is no way the great EV switch will ever work.
This vehicle is looking very well. The problem is the high price for an otherwise unremarkable EV. That is hard choice vs competition: average charging, handling, some plasticky parts inside for the price. This vehicle certainly has a more practical luggage compartment in the rear vs Tesla Model Y. And, I'm pretty sure the suspension parts are much much more reliable vs Tesla.
Can you check if it will charge on Tesla superchargers as a GM vehicle since it’s a GM vehicle under the skin and Tesla activated GM on the Tesla network today.
Not enough range for rural areas. I live in Central Missouri and it’s barely has enough range to visit my daughter in St. Louis and back home (that’s if you actually have a full charge with ideal weather).
The biggest issue with these broken chargers is that a lot of them were installed with federal and state grant money….We’re not getting a good return on our investment unless there is some accountability with overall functionality and general maintenance.
Here in Southeastern, PA I have not seen any EV chargers in my neighborhood. The only ones I have seen are at the retirement community where my mother lives.
Hey guys, you forgot to mention that this vehicle has the Onstar button, is it active even though is a “ honda ” vehicle? That’s another GM interior feature out from the few you mentioned.
But the gas stations on every corner? Still open and pumps available. And in California, the utility companies have the PUC in their pocket and they are constantly allowing the utility companies to raise rates. PG&E is on their second rate raise of the year of 25%. Electricity will soon pass gasoline in expense. Great job everyone!
Just wait till they start adding all the infrastructure taxes that are on gasoline. Electrical will end up costing significantly more than gas once the taxes get added.
@@trumpisastump9382 Fast charging an EV already costs almost as much as buying a tank of gas where I am, at least according to EV owners I have talked to so doing some quick math, no, it’s not just talking points. But then again, your screen name tells me all I need to know about your intelligence or lack thereof.
I owned a Chevrolet equinox ev for 10 days and sold it. I live in eastern Massachusetts, plenty of people. I did not have a home charger as I live in an apartment. The charging network is dismal, watching this video was reliving my nightmare, also when I found a fast charger it cost about $.50 kWh which is equivalent to a car getting 25 to 30 mpg at current gas prices.I learned a hard lesson, stay away from electric cars until we have a much better charging network. I would expect 10 years.
So you bought an EV without knowing where to charge and how much it costs to charge? Genius move right there. Did you take the time to look at the different charging brands? Many offer discounts and memberships that lower the price of charging significantly.
They really need to get on top of the infrastructure in the US if they want more uptake of EV’s. I’m going to be covering the best part of 350 miles in the UK tomorrow. In a car with a relatively tiny battery (52KWS) and a glacial charging curve. No anxiety whatsoever. Makes EV ownership very easy. Particularly if you have off street parking so you’re starting your journey with c200 miles in the “tank”
@@DaleWilly a very quick Google states there are only 11 states bigger than UK. Actually surprised me. Thought there’d be more. But, it feels our population density is higher which might make it easier. Distances between major populations smaller maybe? Again. No expert but could also help. Of course. That's why I always tell people that Marketing is a form of mind control. BUT, it's good for smart people. Get a used Blazer with less miles and pay less. Let the cult member spend their $$$. Queen Mary will get her raise.
We complain about piano black but then complain about different materials when they don't use it - what's the best material to see on a middle console area? Lol!
I helped a friend lease a Touring AWD for $1500 down, $0 due at signing, 3 years with 10k miles/year for $394/mo. 288hp AWD vs 212hp FWD was an important factor, but to mirror the comments above about great lease deals, they weren't kidding. This is for a vehicle that MSRPs for $57k. IMO that retail price is too much for a badge engineered Chevy, but their lease deals were great compared to the CRV Hybrid I was actually targeting. Just a hint: a day after telling us "$406 is our final offer" from a competing dealer, and telling them we had gotten it down into the $390s, the competing dealer then came back the next day with "ok, we'll do $375 at $1500 down" 🙄 ... mind you, this is the Touring AWD and their starting point was $2k down & $770/mo, so we can assume some customers who aren't negotiating are getting f-ed up their a$$ without lube. Don't be that customer, use the power of walking away. For reference, we leased our Touring AWD on Oct 26, 2024 in the Houston, TX area.
Just got a dealer quote, Prologue AWD EX. $1000 down includes first lease payment. $226/month, 36 month lease, 10,000 miles a year. Dealer takes the $7500 Federal EV Rebate. Same AWD 288hp as your friend.
Problems with charging infrastructure: 1. Not using the gas station model (no amenities, no one actually checking on the charger conditions) 2. Using premium parking spaces - so not only are they ICEed, there are other EV drivers that charge just to get a good spot. 3. None have the b.y.o. cable option like europe does. So if someone cuts the cable, it's toast.
Three broken or otherwise unusable chargers in a row and a struggle to find a working charger that isn’t occupied. But don’t worry guys, the EV charging infrastructure is just fine, totally ready to replace gas vehicles! I am not anti-EV but they really need to fix this broken charger problem, and as we saw in this video, its not just Electrify America.
Nice straw man argument. No one is arguing that the EV charging infrastructure is ready to replace gas. Just that it is expanding and improving quickly. Also, random stops around Knotts Berry Farm hardly constitute a comprehensive survey of that infrastructure in the U.S. If he had spent a few minutes waiting at that place with plenty of chargers that were occupied, he probably wouldʻve been able to charge more quickly than by going from place to place.
@@davidharada-stone8616 Actually, I have in fact heard plenty of EV enthusiasts say that EVs can replace gas cars. So no, not a strawman. The fact is, I actually like EVs and hope they eventually get there. They just aren’t yet.
Getting rid of the Caddy's Art & Science styling was a boon for this chassis. Just hope Honda/Acura doesn't end with the wrong of the General Motors reliability stick. It really looks the part of Honda EV SUV though.
whats the 0-60 and quarter mile times? For $10k more it needs to be better more Honda like and the Tech needs to be replaced. Charge times also need to be upgraded 150kwh is not enough speed.
For how much Toyota dealers are still marking up RAV4 Primes in Seattle I’m actually going to go test drive a Prologue since you can get it fully loaded for the price of a RAV4 Prime. Of course I’m not excited about GM though. Makes me laugh because I learned how to drive on a Oldsmobile Bravada… full circle 😂
I wanted to love it, but it was insanely uncomfortable for both my husband and me. I’m so glad Honda 86’d their partnership with GM. Hopefully their next EV will actually be a Honda.
Yes, I have the Prologue and i have an adapter and have used Tesla super charger without an issue. You do need to specify the vehicle as a Cheve Blazer though in the Tesla app.
If this is a rebadged GM product, did it get supercharger access today or does that not come with the badge? Kind of wonder if this video would be totally different if it was filmed a week from today.
My research so far says no. The Honda and Acura GM collaboration vehicles do not yet have access to Tesla chargers only the GM vehicles do at this point.
The charging network is really the only thing I hate about owning a Prologue, but its a big issue. If I could make my choice again, I would choose the CR-V hybrid. The world isn't EV friendly enough yet.
Nice looking honda. Any super cruise? I like the hondas exterior and color choices on the interior ... I do not like the Blaze which looks like 1980's sneaker I hate the blazer's charge port and its piano black gills on the outside near the charge port.. the honda looks cleaner and more like what I want to be in.. but I like supercruise. . Chevy optic seems like a nice choice.. Maybe when they make an electric buick it will be normal looking too and less money than a caddy
Not specific to the Prologue, but manufactures should make the charge port door open towards the rear since most pull in straight to chargers. Heck make it flip up!!
Yesterday I saw the new Chevy Blazer and I think it looks way better than this one. It looks a lot more upscale that than the Honda. The interior looks better in my opinion as well.
Had a test drive with this one and was...not impressed. I mean, this is a great vehicle, no doubt about it. But it's lacking flavour a tad. It does everything well, but nothing really great. Surprisingly, I ended up buying a BZ4X. Yes, I know: not the greatest range, not the greatest recharge capacity. But so comfortable, 8,6 in. of ground clearance for our harsh Québec winters, greatest seats i've ever had and awesome visibility. For what I need to do on a daily basis, this is much more than I actually need, when it comes to range. The 2024 updates make the car so much better, especially during winter time, when I can easily get 115 KW on a 180 KW charger, even when it's -15c. Granted, I leave the charging station 3-4 minutes after a Tesla that showed up at the same time as me. But hey, for all the discounts you get with the BZ4X in Québec, it's more than fine. But the Prologue? Man, the interest rates are up the wazoo, the price itself is way higher and I find it less usable than the BZ4X. Well, there you go. The BZ4X, the one people don't have hate, the one people own love.

I just don't think one should purchase an EV just yet.
that lease is a lot of money to not own
I have been concerned already about the number and locations of recharge stations but the high percentage of 'out-of-service' charging stations is REALLY concerning. I'll stick to my hybrid Accord for now.
You said no one should purchase an EV yet and just left it as that. Tesla? Hello? If you want an EV get a Tesla. Tesla is not all EVs. I had no problem doing a Tesla road trip
@@rylans.5365 tell me more please. The Range anxiety is holding me back.
GM can now charge on Tesla V3 superchargers, of which there are more than 17,000 of those. You need to order a $225 adapter from GM to do it.
Just don't drop anything metal in that spot! No change no keys etc phones only
I just leased an elite and I tell yeah its enough power without getting yourself in trouble.

Just add some fast charger stalls, use the same payment system (no stupid apps), and adapt with the times for the betterment of all
Sadly i actually road trip every month, basically, on a packed schedule, so EVs still aren't for me. But better charging or just massively bigger batteries will get me there, and i can't wait!
(And yeah hopefully some EVs still have android auto once we're there 🙃)
I’ve been saying this for years
no they want you to go to the back lot of a Wal-Mart to charge.
Petro Canada does EV charging, and they're (in my opinion) intentionally terrible at it. They leave their stations in poor or broken states for literally years.
I believe they have a vested interest in people buying gas, so anything they can do to make the EV experience worse, they'll do.
@@tarfeef101 The problem is space. Gas pumps cycle cars through about 5 minutes at a time. EV chargers are 20-45 minutes at a time. That’s a problem.
Oh, definitely especially considering the premium some of those stations charge for juice.
People vandalize them? WTF
I'm glade I have never seen that could you imagine a remote place somewhere and you can't get juiced
@@Jukebox4Jesus Very much guarantee it will work with Tesla AC wall charger.
The issues with not having enough chargers in Southern California is well chronicled and not necessarily the fault of the vehicle.
Yup, and I mentioned that.
The dashboard in the Blazer EV looks better. The screens are better integrated and it's less chopped up looking.
True, it just sucks GM took away carplay and android auto in their EV's
@@kenway103 That was a STOOPID move. If enough people put enough heat on them, they might change their mind. Just like with the BOLT.
Since GM got Tesla Supercharger access today I wonder if these can.
I think they were saying 2nd gen will have NACS charging ability.
Yes with a caveat. Got to label it as a Chevy blazer ev in Tesla app. There are videos.
Just the newer ones ie the Gen 3 and 4 ones.
they can but you have to tell the Tesla pp that it's a Chevy Blazer.
The Tesla Supercharger network is open to GM vehicles as of 9/18. All you need is the NACS adapter (doesn't have to be GM specific) and the Tesla app.
If charging was a disaster in the EV nirvana of California, what does this mean for EV owners everywhere else?
Southern California seems to have worse charging than any place else in the US because of the high EV to charger ratio and probably the number of people who rely primarily on DC Fast Charging. Out of Spec has a video on the issue. And, as they mentioned, EV drivers would be using Apps or their nav system to navigate to an available charger rather than driving around looking for one that's available.
I honestly think some of these videos have weaponized incompetence. Most if not all EV charging stations have online status that shows when they're in use and/or out of service. So driving up to a broken one and driving to a charging station where they're all in use is just dishonest.
Honestly it’s ridiculous that it doesn’t come standard with NACS, or at least a dongle.
Don't ask.
The question is is it a good car and not about the knobs or the chime.
what’s your lease deal?
Charging issues aside, my reason for offloading my EV were northern winters. My plug in hybrid is very satisfying in all respects.
What happened in winter?
As an avid skier I hit the hills nearly every weekend. Studded Hakkapeliita tires cost probably 15-20% range on the highway, my Thule ski box cost range, the typical westerly headwinds that are so common in winter months had a huge impact on range, naturally, the cold weather and the reality that the car had to sit outside nowhere near a full lug in for several days at times. Yeah, wasn’t for me, way too many compromises. Was awesome to use from work/home though!

Evs wont hit mainstream until charging isn't terrible
Depends on where you live and what you use the car for. The person that drives to work and back, charges at night, can care less if there is fast charging nearby. All he need to do is get to the first fast charger on the highways and he can travel anywhere.

I sat in one while looking at a used Model Y at a Honda dealership. It felt like a CX9 from 2019 on the inside. Much more roomy in the Y and EV6.
In my area, Li believe you first need to make an appointment to use the chargers. You have to be signed up with the service.
Last week, Me and my wife shopped various manufacturers for similar EV’s. We test drove the Honda Prologue and we loved the vehicle, but there were so many quality issues we had to pass. We ended up going with the Mach-e and couldn’t be happier. Paired with the ability to charge at Tesla chargers, it was hard to pass.
were the quality issues a result of incomplete pre-delivery prep or assemblyline oversights?

Just wait till they start adding all the infrastructure taxes that are on gasoline. Electrical will end up costing significantly more than gas once the taxes get added.

@rayh2808 the deals keep getting better! That's so cheap considering original sticker
He forgot to mention that he could not even raise his head completely while sitting in the second row or he would have hit the frame on the sunroof.
Problems with charging infrastructure:
1. Not using the gas station model (no amenities, no one actually checking on the charger conditions)
2. Using premium parking spaces - so not only are they ICEed, there are other EV drivers that charge just to get a good spot.
3. None have the b.y.o. cable option like europe does. So if someone cuts the cable, it's toast.
Can you get heated rear seats? I looked quick on the Honda Canada site but didn't see them available.
Tesla Supercharger Network is rock solid.
@@monaezytwo6513 I agree and hopefully them opening up the network to other EV brands will go a long way towards fixing the problem
Who is Nathan's camera operator?
Hopefully a bodyguard. Lol 😂
Think they said it was someone that used to work for tfl that moved to Cali awhile back. So he's working for them again.
Getting rid of the Caddy's Art & Science styling was a boon for this chassis. Just hope Honda/Acura doesn't end with the wrong of the General Motors reliability stick. It really looks the part of Honda EV SUV though.
How come no information regarding battery size and range was discussed
A spare tire.
Every vehicle needs one.
Like most things, public charging is better once you leave Socal.
It looks like he ended his roadtrip along the bluffs of Palos Verdes haha
whats the 0-60 and quarter mile times? For $10k more it needs to be better more Honda like and the Tech needs to be replaced. Charge times also need to be upgraded 150kwh is not enough speed.
Not going to lie, I was hoping it would be Knott's Berry Farm :)
Too expensive and it’s not even a real Honda ain’t no way .
I would say the Honda is the best looking between the Chevrolet, Cadillac, Acura, and Honda
Cadillac is the best looking
I agree. Honda did a great job.
Honda’s exterior is beautiful. But the Chevy Blazer EV’s interior is so much nicer.
@@cpierce803 It's a CHEVY BLAZER disguised as a Honda. So, how can Honda have done a good job.
I know they share the same platform with General motors, but I see more Prologue and Zdx in my area in Jersey
Obviously!!!! Many sheep fall for this marketing tactic.
155 kW peak! Charge curve matters. Or what duration between 10-80% can it hold that rate. Remains to be seen.
This is Hondas ev compliance car, at least it's nit a total disaster like toyotas bz4x
I wanted to love it, but it was insanely uncomfortable for both my husband and me. I’m so glad Honda 86’d their partnership with GM. Hopefully their next EV will actually be a Honda.
It's still in Production af Ramos in Mexico. Not sure where you got the info that they canceled the joint venture.
Since it is based on the GM platform, will it charge on Superchargers now that this is available to GM cars?
Yes, I have the Prologue and i have an adapter and have used Tesla super charger without an issue. You do need to specify the vehicle as a Cheve Blazer though in the Tesla app.
IF YOU HOOK THE CHARGER TO THE INTERIOR 110 PORT THEN TO THE CHARGE PORT OUTSIDE, YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TO WASTE TIME CHARGING.
If this is a rebadged GM product, did it get supercharger access today or does that not come with the badge? Kind of wonder if this video would be totally different if it was filmed a week from today.
Was wondering the exact same thing!
That charging plug won’t reach Tesla supercharger for road trips making it a city only car.
Not specific to the Prologue, but manufactures should make the charge port door open towards the rear since most pull in straight to chargers. Heck make it flip up!!
I bet the reason is because at 80 mph if the wind caught the door it would simply rip it off. Think mattress on your cars roof.
Yesterday I saw the new Chevy Blazer and I think it looks way better than this one. It looks a lot more upscale that than the Honda. The interior looks better in my opinion as well.
theme parks should install ev charging in their parking lots
I've never noticed Tommy's little tattoo before
Had a test drive with this one and was...not impressed.
Nobody is going to pay $60K for these so it don't matter if the charging stations don't work!
