Was cool talking with ya. Wish I could’ve accommodated you with higher altitude a little sooner! Say hello next time! 😃
It was my pleasure and thanks for your help. A few minutes of smooth IMC is always welcomed. May be back in the area in august. Give me a shoutout if you hear my tail number.
Thank o
Great video again...you had your work cut out for you on that flight. good job and great SIC of course...she has gotten so accomplished and is asking all the right questions for someone developing a deep love of aviation. It's a real pleasure to watch you both! thanks once again!
Great to see Kim back, she is as lovely as ever.
Nice flight, 20 miles out over the water single engine even with vest and a raft I'd say no to that. Wouldn't have picked my way through that stuff either. For me and my Comanche that'd be a land short and wait it out. sometimes a twin comes is really handy.
The look on Kim's face when that right engine started - priceless. I think she's missed flying. Awesome video and glad to see you guys in the air again.
Welcome to HOtlanta. Can’t believe AOPA didn’t list you as an influential youtuber in their magazine. You certainly influenced me to take to the skies. Thanks. Keep them coming.
I’m glad I was able to influence you. Be sure to let AOPA know how you feel!
PBI ATCT SAVES DAY again nice job to my ATC colleague and pilot Jeff Goodmanson .
20 miles off shore is when you are glad to be a twin. “Picking your way thru a storm front” is not a good plan for sure even with radar. Either deviate or land.
Robert Thrailkill picking thru a storm is reality sometimes and it’s not unsafe just because it’s a scary phrase. Inexperienced and over confident pilots should avoid it, but for a conscientious experienced pilot, it can be a viable option. I can tell you, in the days before all this fancy avionics, it was a necessary skill here in the northwest...lol
I did let AOPA know they missed the mark!
Spectacular Flying and Pilot decision
Cool being recognized, it shows you are doing good.
...Kim Cam...yes...
Did you see Steveo's episode of his friend Valerie flying a turbo version of your Baron? Are we talking mucho crazy more dollars?
I love your girlfriend. So friendly and happy!
So sweet thank you😘
Oh that Kim! What a great copilot. I love your risk management. I learned a long time ago, set your personal minimums and stick to them no matter what. Never be tempted to take unnecessary risks.
Thanks. In the words of Clint Eastwood “A man needs to know his limitations” lol
@@BaronPilot "Endeavor to persever."
Great video the controllers did an awesome job to get you around the weather
They always do!! 👍🏼
I enjoy hearing you and Kim talk through the different options and the weather conditions, it adds a lot more color to the overall situation
Loved the video as always great decision making process. Those views of the thunderheads were absolutely amazing! Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
Beautiful views. Thanks for sharing! Stay healthy! May 27, 2020
Time for ATC Controllers to have call-signs and UA-cam channels....so we can tell them how famous they are...
It’s always better with Kim in the plane.
Agreed
"are you famous?" " yes i have a youtube channel baron pilot" lol! that was terrific!
That was so cool and an honor to be recognized. 😊
Good Risk Management...good to have a Twin. Good to have a Kim as SIC.
Thank you and I agree with both 😎
That’s a lot of whisky before a departure. 😎
Great video as always. Fantastic view of aeronautical decision making (on the fly so to speak). Great for new low hour pilots such as myself. Thank you.
I don't know why, but I just like the added stress that comes with navigating around those big storms. PDK is in my 'hood. Hope you both had a pleasant time in the ATL.
Beautiful to see you leaving ATL, even on a stormy day! Love seeing my city from above, thanks for sharing!
Great stuff as always and a little different. Can always rely on you two to make the UK Lockdown more fun!!! Keith
The weather always wins...staying humble keeps you alive. great video of flight management.
Remember "High Flight"..I read it at my Father's funeral. He was an Avenger pilot in WW2
dude, next time you are at PDK, Holla at me... live just a few minutes from there
Well Done. Hats off to the FL controllers, and yourself for staying ahead of the airplane and the flight. KJNX salutes you
That was a great video to follow with your thought process on the weather.
Thanks. I really like when I can share weather related flights.
Nice video. Happy Memorial Day Weekend. Weather in N.J. sucks so good day to hangout & watch some videos.
What's the black "device" mounted on the ceiling? Any thoughts to upgrading those analog gauges to the Garmin GI 275's? They look pretty sharp for direct panel replacement.
It's too bad Sun n Fun was cancelled this year, although understandable, hope to see y'all there next year!
I love the options of multi-engine. I also love flying complex aircraft. Gear doors are the coolest!
Greetings from Jacksonville. Another great episode. I love them all. I am another graduate from Tamiami and Burnside Ott from 1971! I really need to start flying again.
Ahhhh - The snacks are back aboard.
Best way to start my Sunday!!!! Hope you guys are staying safe!!!!!
So easy when you know how. Brilliant teamwork. Magic guys!! Home 🏡
Great video, loved going for the ride with you around the weather. Great flying!!
Excellent IMC vid Kris! Handled it like a boss. Enjoyed it.
I learned to fly from TMB in the early 70's... Love that airport! Now flying in Wisconsin.
Yahooee ! I soloed at New Tamiami in 1970 (Burnside Ott). Failed my 1st Private Pilot's exam, but retired in 2000, rated DC-8 and B727 Captain, F/O on the DC-10, Rated in the DC-3 and B-1900D. Thanks for the ride guys!! A dream that came true from the age of 6.
Very cool look at using the system and equipment to find a way through the weather. Love the mutual respect between you and the controllers! Keep up the great work!
Always good videos; this one had gilt edging
My favorite Airport ktmb i did my private and instrument i remember going to roof of my school with my friends when the sun was set in and look at the GA planes landing i missed those days
I notice that Kim is wearing a brace on her arm did she hurt her arm some how
yes she broke her arm in another video riding one of those skateboard things.
Thoroughly enjoyed your IFR flight down to Florida. I've many other comments saying that Florida ATC are awesome! On the apron at Tamiami at 29:25 is a PAC750 (N750SS) made down here in New Zealand! They're designed for STOL operations in the bush and for dropping meat bombs (as we call them down here!)
I learned at American Aviation KTMB in the 70's and Lease-a-plane for rentals to build up time. It was home field for Pitts aerobatic ace Mary Gaffney. I saw Bob Hoover fly there in his Aero-Commander at an airshow and a DC-8 made a low-pass. I worked at the Exxon on 107th and used my earnings to get my private. Miami is big aviation and basically, with Juan Trippe at Pan Am, is the birthplace of the airline industry. There are some who suggest that the high-bypass turbofan was invented at George T. Baker School of Aviation at MIA. That's what I remember.
At 9:30, the water pool on the flaps. Time for Gap Seals, Kris!
www.d-shannon-aviation.com/upgrades/gap-seal-kits-solution.html
Okay, where have you been for SIX weeks in the middle of a lockdown?
What RADAR system are you going to install? I mean, I can only think of Bendix/King and Garmin as the only two GA systems on the market. Who else has one?
Discretion is the better part of valor, but that one guy who wanted to try and pick his way through those clouds might have been better suited to land and wait it out, but I'm not in his airplane, so I don't know for sure. But, heading out over the open ocean in a single, if that's what's he was flying, I can understand not wanting to do that.
Tamiami is where I learned to fly, early 70’s @ Burnside Ot.
Mike Brown I’m got my license there too. Currently Istrument training there now.
Kermit Weeks used to have his museum there, before creating Fantasy of Flight in Polk City.
Happy Memorial day Kim and Kris remember our Veterans my dad was in the united states Navy
Should have told him he was live and on the air....lol
Really enjoy your channel. I’m a sailor but have learned a lot from you and Steveo.
Can’t wait for this shutdown to be over with so we start getting more videos from the Fantastic Four. Baron,Premier 1, Citation Max and Steveo1kinevo
@kdharley07 don’t forget 310 pilot with the new paint job.
Woah, woah, woah! You forgot LewDix Aviation and Zero Three Delta 😉😂
@@glossamano1899 Don't forget his lovely Mrs Jamie
Anybody else here the ELT at 13:16? Too much CAP training.
Stepping into the WayBack machine -- I remember when Tamiami was surrounded by cornfields and truck farms...
Ahhh....the "New" Tamiami Airport!!!! I also started my flying there back in the early 80's.....I do miss it sometimes! Is Jet Center still there???
Just here for your co-pilot 😍....lol
Aww hope you’re here for some flying too as we go hand in hand😘
There's nothing like breaking out of the clouds - that feeling of being free of earth's gravity - the beautiful clarity of everything insight. 🛩
Flying in Florida looks challenging! Don't get many storms like that here in SoCal.
That was a very interesting video I learned a loot about decision making and how to use ATC to help you...
nice how to deal with the weather vid! great job!
Ah it might just be me, but I think they're tuning in for your copilot.
Great job on the route selection, I hope that controller was taking notes. Looked like a fun flight to be on, thanks for the ride Kris and Kim!!! ;-)
The cloud formations look incredible Kris n Kim
Excellent Vid. Great example of smart flying.
I enjoy y'all very much coming from Soddy Daisy Tn
I enjoy y'all very much coming from Soddy Daisy Tn
just sying Kim has beautiful hands
TMB is my home airport... Love it!!! Great video!
Please god let there be turbulence.... lol
Mr Kris . Ms Kim Is a good lady for you so sweet great co pilot have fun glad to see the both of you in the air
Licensed in 1973 at TAMIAMI airport. Do you remember "Old Tamiami Airport"? Can't believe all the buildings! Used to dove hunt that area!
did i hear an ELT at 13:20 during controller clearance? great video,, shows the decisions you have to be able to make as situations change, thanks
I’d have to go back and check. Thanks, things are a constant change and adapting to the changes are vital.
Hi Baron pilot.
Greatings from Portugal. Another great video.
Sad to see Kim still not yet completly recoverd from whatever problem (I hope a minor one though) in her arm.
Hope she`ll get rid of that soon.
Happy landings
Nerve damage. May never completely go away.
Tell me about WX, I planned 2 weeks of IFR Training flying, but Charlotte area has been magnet for 300-700 overcast for too many days now. Glad I have youtube to get my flying fix. How do you like the Audi?
We love it!
Nice job working the weather. Obvisously due to the convection almost daily in Florida during the summer you've learned a lot about making smart decisions piloting around the weather. Great job on the video and content, nice way to start this day. Tell Kim Keli and I said hello!
You landed at my home airport. I learned to fly at KTMB. Currently Intrument training there now.
Interesting...nice job getting around the storm.
How to watch Baron Pilot: Hit the like button then watch!
Kris, you have a great co-pilot in Kim. Nice to see her confidence grow with each flight.
Best part for me is memories of boating in that area in the 80's and 90's cruising through Stiltsville, etc. Lots more houses then.
Nice flight through some potentially bad weather. Cooperative ATC is a real help in trying times.
You should have been in the AOPA article on flying You Tubers, they missed Patey also. The best left incognito.
Thanks for sharing.
Haha you’re the best!!! Stiltsville is still so cool and sad at the same time. Btw you should let AOPA know how you feel. They seem to focus on a few and missed out on some really good youtubers.
Thank you for sharing. Great video and super flight!
Yet another awesome flight with excellent decision making.... Seeing Stiltsville brought back mega-memories for me....
Nice one, thanks !!! 😎👍
I did all my flight training in TMB on those C172s you did B Roll on (behind the guy in the Scooter) Great airport, decent weather most of the time. Did my 10hs of Complex on that N4MS PA28R Brings me memories.
That’s why I fly VFR as much as possible. Takeoff or land IFR if needed. Dont need ATC trying to fly my airplane
I'd do the copilot
I have mentioned before that I love your panel. As I understand it, you have subscriptions for updates, for the displays. If that is correct, what are your thoughts on the value of going display over gauges, and how does Avidyne compare cost wise to Garmin, or any others (those are the two I am familiar with)? How much of what is on the display can be replicated with Foreflight?
Still no ring wtf
I learned to fly in Reno, NV where we had about 300 days of sunshine a year. Thermal turbulence and mountain wave activity galore, but seldom weather as you have in Florida. All through my Private, Instrument, and Commercial ground schools, I struggled with the weather aspects. Seeing "the real world" in video and your thought processes, plus the interaction with ATC has given me a perspective that 40 years of flying haven't. Great job!
You don't have too many obstacles flying offshore. I think all checkrides should include low level or terrain flight. Circling approaches require this skill especially if you shoot an approach to minimums.
Love the videos, educational & entertaining. So much so I’ve subscribed but can’t ‘ring the bell’ as your vids are classed as made for children. Don’t want to miss out.
My channel is not classified as “Made for Children”
Great video BP! You were at my home airport PDK. Great WX avoidance and ADM! When was this filmed?
Curious about what would occur if you inadvertently had your gear lever selected to the 'up' position while on your run-up. Would your gear retract upon lift-off?
This was one great video. Better than most.👍
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Amazed they allow external cameras on aircraft. If one falls off and kills someone on the ground, that would not be good.
Was Kim not doing comms. due to the weather?
I was occasionally off camera but the next video you’re in for a treat!
Hope you had a nice stop at PDK. My home airport.
Was there for work but we did enjoy it.
