OMGsh this is awesome! I've been wanting to learn how to crochet a skirt with vertical stitches. T, you are a gift for this! Thank you so much for posting it. I thought I spotted a cute matching top in the thumbnail. I hope you post the pattern for that one next! Such a cute set. As for my breakfast, I have practically the same every day. A yummy PB yogurt breakfast bowl with seasonal fruit (blueberries and strawberries lately) topped with PB granola and honey. During the cooler months, I love oatmeal topped with different fall yummies. It's still pretty warm here so I'm going to keep up the yogurt for a while and my summer-themed crochet projects!

Oh that sounds like a great idea! It would be pretty simple, thinking about it. Id make them similar to these pockets: ua-cam.com/video/9HTuvnYywrM/v-deo.html Leave a slit the side of pocket you want, finish the skirt and sew in the pockets at the end. 😊
Thanks for your nice tutorial. I started to make a skirt but I find difficult to do slip stitch on band section so iIdecided to do single crochet at back loop instead of slip stitch. Hope the result will be okay.
So glad to hear you like it! And I have a tutorial for the crop top in the thumbnail photo. Here is the tutorial link: ua-cam.com/video/bZSb6z9Sf0U/v-deo.html 😊
Is very cute and nice too I love it but please show me whether there must be two seams or I should continue doing the rows until I have my preferred number of rows.Kindly show me the way
Hi! There is a prep chain to do first to know how many rows to do, then you continue with the row sequence till you have the amount of rows you need (it'll show you how many rows to do within the pattern. 😊
This is such a great pattern! I was wondering if when we single croxhet before starting the band, is it suppised to be the circumference of our waist or will the band make it shrink more to fit?
Thank you for the video. When you get to the waist band and the sc. Does it have to be the waist circumference? For me it's almost twice as wide. Do the slip stitch make it even smaller? I would be very grateful for an answer. Kind regards
Glad you like the video! Thank you. ☺️ The single crochet row that went along the top of the skirt should have cynched it up quite a bit since we're decreasing for that row. Then the slip stitch row will help shrink it a lite bit more. ☺️
@@TCDDIYIt was really tight enough. The waist band has actually been reduced in half thanks to the slip stitches. Now it really fits perfectly. I wish you a wonderful week.
Hi wanted to ask: i want to make a dress with the skirt part of the dress like this. how do i attach it? or do i just create the skirt first and then continue to top? so the waistband is like the top? thanks!
Hiya! Thanks so much for reaching out! You'd make the Slip Stitch row connected to your top then the length of the skirt after that! You can actually follow this tutorial for extra guidance! ua-cam.com/video/MTSRRgVTIk0/v-deo.html
Hey, I know this might be a dumb question but I'm on my 25th row and I'm thinking that the length of the skirt looks reallyyy short 😅 and I'm wondering how that is gonna increase after my 180th row bcs I think that will only increase the width. And how did the length increase for you because even your length looked super tiny in the beginning around 8:43 😭 pls help I'm so confused
No worries! The chain the I made is the length of the skirt that I wanted. If you prefer the length to be longer i'd suggest to make the initial chain as long as you want the skirt to be. It wont mess with the integrity of the skirt, so have at it! 😊
Of course! Here is the tutorial link: ua-cam.com/video/bZSb6z9Sf0U/v-deo.html and the PDF pattern link is in the description! Thanks for the interest! 😁
Would you be willing to do a video(s) on your process for designing a garment? How do you decide what technique is best? How to convert an idea into a wearable garment?
Hi! Would loveeee to, we've been actually planning on doing something similar along with an FAQ for a few months now.. just haven't found the time 😅 Hopefully we can soon though!!
Very beginner friendly tutorial. Please I don’t quite understand what the first long pre chain was used for and how it was incorporated with the length chain
The first thing we made was the waistband but it was just to see how many rows you need for the skirt so you can frog that later and the next part, you chain the length you want the skirt to be like if you want it to go to your knees, or a bit lower
Hi. This may be a silly question but how do I adjust this for a larger size? I definitely do not fit in a small 😂 and would love to make it in a larger size. It will be the first clothing item I will attempt to make. TIA
Hi. I doubt you still need me to answer the question 2 months later but I decided maybe I can help someone else who might want to adjust the size. So instead of just counting the stitches or measurements she uses measure your own body at the widest part of your hips. That will be the length of the prep chain. But make sure your chain is an even number. For example I chained 160 Then measure from the length you want for your skirt from the same spot you just measured since there will be a waistband as well. This way you can make the skirt knee length or longer if you want. Just measure out an even number of chains like before
any one else do this but end up loosing stiches as you go along. i put them into all the gaps and went from 70 to 56 and ive only done 57 rows. i have re started 3 times and have spent literal days on this but i just cant figure out what im doing wrong.
Hey I’ve been crocheting for a while and sometimes you can miss the last stitch when you’re going down. I recommend just checking the ends for a stitch when you get to the ends. Hope this helps ❤
Hey does anybody know what the first prep chain is for? Because I’ve skimmed through the video several time and each “new chain” is made from scratch. I’m just like really confused and I feel like this is kind of a stupid question, like I’m missing something??
Hey I’ve been crocheting for a while and sometimes you can miss the last stitch when you’re going down. I recommend just checking the ends for a stitch when you get to the ends. Hope this helps ❤
You have to join the two ends with a sc seam . Then turn it right side out and do a sc in the DC side and a dec in the two miss stitches side so cinch up the skirt. Then after finishing that round, ch1 and cut the yarn. Change the colour for the band if you want. Sc in all the stitches, sl st into the 1st sc . Chain 13 or how thick you want the wast band + ch 1 inset the hook in the second chain from the hook and do slip stitches (sl st) till the base, sl st the next stitch flip it and sl st in the back loop only till the end . Ch 1 flip. Back loop only sl st , repeat till the band is done. Then to join it insert the hook in the front loop and back loop of the other band and sl st till the end
We have subtitles! Please click the gear on the bottom right of the video, there will be a pop up and you can chose your subtitles, then next to the gear click the CC button activate it! 😊
This is a cute skirt but as a beginner looking for “friendly beginner tutorial “ you lost me because you started with a chain but what did you do with the chain? How did you incorporate the chain into the pattern? Also you went from a few rows and then the video jumped to attaching two panels but you didn’t explain. I’m sorry you lost me when you did that but after reviewing the video I understood why it’s because we have to buy the pattern to go into detail and explaining how to do the skirt. I understand it’s not “beginner friendly “ .
Hi Norma, thanks for reaching out! You definitely don't need to buy any of our patterns to complete our tutorials as many people have completed this and other just from the tutorials. 😊 The initial Chain is is just to figure out how many rows for the skirt to do, that wont be incorporated into the piece at all. The time stamp is from 2:15-2:40. And yes, It's a 3 row repeat for the skirt, but we did 6 rows on camera just to make sure we got it down and kept repeating those 3 rows off camera till we had the amount of rows we needed and that math is mentioned at 9:20. 😊 Le me know if you have any more trouble would love to help out. 💕
So i tried to make the skirt… got to the point of making the band and followed the instructions exactly as she said and the skirt became HUGE no joke.. i dont have bigger size yarn or bigger hook Spent half a month to make a fucking bag 😤 if you are gonna make it check it on yourself many times guys The measurements are so off its not even funny

How do we crochet the top for this skirt?
Hello, do you have the pattern for the top?
O. M. G super cutee 😍 this is definitely on my to do list. 📝 awesome job sis, keep up the good work 💖👍
Thank you so much!!! 🤗 We really appreciate it!
Nice! But little more length to the knee.😁🤗
😁😁 just add more to the initial Chain and you're good to go. 😊

Very beginner friendly tutorial. Please I don’t quite understand what the first long pre chain was used for and how it was incorporated with the length chain
The prep Chain is so you know how many rows to do for the skirt portion to get a proper ruffle. 😊
Yeah that still doesn’t explain exactly what that chain was for and how you incorporated in the skirt.
I'm really confused, what is the prep chain for? Is it for the waist band or the skirt??
For example I chained 160
Then measure from the length you want for your skirt from the same spot you just measured since there will be a waistband as well. This way you can make the skirt knee length or longer if you want.
Just measure out an even number of chains like before
I'm gonna make this with......black yarn ..I hope I don't give up midway 😅
any one else do this but end up loosing stiches as you go along. i put them into all the gaps and went from 70 to 56 and ive only done 57 rows. i have re started 3 times and have spent literal days on this but i just cant figure out what im doing wrong.
I thought it was supposed to be an example for how big it’s going to be
I‘m making this right now, but somehow the amount of chains in each row seems to get less for me, am I doing something wrong?

I got lost at 10 minutes. Can u plsss help me ??

@@TCDDIYdidn't you use the first chains for the drawstring?
So i tried to make the skirt… got to the point of making the band and followed the instructions exactly as she said and the skirt became HUGE no joke.. i dont have bigger size yarn or bigger hook
Spent half a month to make a fucking bag 😤 if you are gonna make it check it on yourself many times guys
The measurements are so off its not even funny
Hi, thanks for reaching out. My apologies for such a late reply. Were you able to get the band finished? I'd love to help out if you still have the project. 💞 let me know.
