Glad that this process helps you get some annoying tasks out of the way. :) I tend to only open youtube when I'm sitting down to chill so I didn't do anything at the same time lol. I very much relate to the whole putting things off until "after the thing that's coming up". I don't seem to have any brain bandwidth to start on / plan non-routine things if I have another routine-disrupting thing coming up in the near future that I'm stressing about. Often it's like travelling to see family (overseas) and I just make vague mental notes to start on things "after I get back". It's especially annoying when a thing is coming up with no known date/time, it feels like it puts life on hold entirely. Anyway, hope all goes well with the upcoming move, and your roommate doesn't give you too much shit in the meantime. :)
If you have autism and adhd you tend to have phases of not having energy then phases of keeping up with work then the deeper cleaning and a day or two of energy or doing it a bit at the time. I do what I have said. I’m more inclined to clean if I know people would judge it.
As you know I am ASD(and maybes ADHD too) and I live in a tiny 1 bedroom flat. I have to resist the urge to buy things like paperweights, DVDs and the like because I haven't got the room for it all. There is barely the room for my clothes and food as it is. I got a walk in cupboard(where the fuse box is) and it is crammed to the max with enough soya UHT milk to last a good 6 months and nearly 50 2 litre bottles of diet cola. My dad died 7 months ago. Still trying to sort out the stuff I brought from his house here. Some of it I have binned, some I gave to neighbours. Don't know what to do with it all.
Just in time, again. I too feel like my life gets on hold until I can muster the energy to get my room back in order. I can sometimes take weeks. Well I will try to do it today!
Yeah, I don't like that "autistic = clean and tidy" assumption either. I have never been tidy and even the idea that I "should" be tidy brings up a bunch of stress and self-comparison. I absolutely think messy living spaces are a thing for a lot of autistic folks.
Facebook market place is where I tend to sell my stuff and have made hundreds over the years. I'm newly diagnosed Autistic and some friends say your rooms always messy so you can't be autistic too. Mine is very organised it's just my friends dont realise it.
I need to do my room but I know it's going to take sooooo long so I've been putting it off for like a year or so now xD. When it comes to people commenting on you being autistic think of them as, they havn't taken the time to understand or research neurodivergency so they arn't engaging in good faith and there for not really worth acknowledging. Its helped me with people questioning my neurodivergency and transness, I just laugh at peoples small minded attempts now to put me down xD.

Video request: Do you think that the Government is doing enough to financially support struggling Autistic people?
no...they hate supporting us (USA)
I find music helps with the anxiety of cleaning...

Executive functioning is a problem in autism. That could lead to a messy room or house.
How many guitars you have??
Two! Only the acoustic is actually mine though, the electric is a friends that I’m just borrowing!
