@LateKickwithJoshPate bro EA said in the announcement all the rankings came with help from Pro Football Focus! Not them alone. I’m not saying the rankings are good. Maybe you could discuss PFF’s metrics for their rankings
VIRGINIA TECH ENTER THE SANDMAN WOW!!
And Clemson !!!! Clemson ! Colorado!!!!! Are you serious !!! Stevie wonder made this list and I love Stevie but … some body blind lol
I bet James Pierce jr. want be in the top 25 overall
This is made from individual talent rankings and PFF. NOT by the merits of last year.
With that said, CU MOLLY WHOPPED Nebraskas 13th ranked defense and you're complaining that CUs offense is too high and NEBRASKA is too low? Can't have it both ways man, pick a struggle 😂😂
Tennessee not on the list for top offenses or stadiums... What the hell are we doing EA
"USC couldn't stop molasses in December last year." Freaking killed me 😂😂😂😂
At the same time, USC wasn't in the top 10 for offense which is insane. But Miami is?
@@benjaminunanaowo2929 And how Iowa wasn't top ten rated defense? Whoever made these lists, I need their drugs 😂
@@garrysonmcafee8530 Agreed! However, I am curious to see how Iowa's defense holds up with the addition of USC, Oregon, Wash, and UCLA who tend to have offensive firepower at QB & WR closer to Ohio State who's torched Iowa for years. Over the next few seasons we will see if B10 defenses were that good or the offenses made them look that good.
The entire premise of these rankings was clearly engagement farming. Even EA doesn't believe these rankings, but they are hungry for money, and they want this game being talked about as much as possible. Stop rewarding it.

Tennessee not even in top 25 of offenses. That is a crime.
Tennessee can't be. The colors of the outfits are over a quarterback. His name Condredge Holloway. His nickname was The Artful Dodger. That's Oliver Twist. Tennessee holds heavy shields for Scotland, Bavarian, Geneva. Tennessee has sent the most players to Detroit. There was a football player who expired in the 70s. He played for the Lions. The NFL didn't stop the game. The Midwest has the most sundown towns and Knoxville has the world's fair in 1982. We're not leaving Pat Summitt. The WNBA she played a huge part in.

As a Miami fan Tennessee should be right where we are. If we are 7 they should be 6 or 8. Colorado is purely up there for hype and to get money
Having 5 teams tied for 3rd in defense is laziness.
They don’t actually rank the teams. They just rate the individual players and this is how it shook out. It doesn’t make sense to go back and tweak a few player ratings just to avoid having a tie. Then they’d just be tied with a different team
@@QuiteAMouthfull this what people not understanding
yeah I don't think you understand how the rankings work...
@@chadchadderton I understand perfectly. I also understand they have final say and they can very easily adjust the number by 1 or 2 to avoid having like 57 teams tied
@@Janthdanl That's just disingenuous... they don't sit there and debate which team is ranked 1 through 10 etc etc, it's just calculated by what the players are ranked. Changing the team rankings and not player rankings doesn't make sense nor does changing player rankings because of team ranking.
The biggest snub on offense, was Tennessee not even in the top 25!! In the 3 years Heupel has been at Tennessee, the worst the offense finished was 19th, the other 2 years was 7th and 1st!! Yet some how that averages to outside the top 25??
Similar issue with Nebraska defensively, they are just trying to promote teams they want to be popular.
This is for this next year not the past three
@@caney_1489yea next year… the only year we’ve had a 5 star QB and arguably the best QB in that class. To think that next season we won’t be at least top 19 to match last is laughable
@caney_1489 you mean the year Tennessee has a 5* QB who was ranked as the #1 overall prospect in his class? 4 returning receivers and the addition of Brazzell? A rushing attack that has CONSISTENTLY averaged around 200 YPG? Landing the #1 TE prospect in the transfer portal? And an offensive line that many are ranking as top 10 in the nation?

As a Bama fan, your assessment of Bryant-Denny is spot on.
Was coming in here to say this. Top 12 for sure. But 2ND?!?! lol
Same. BDS design isnt conducive to maximizing sound. No matter how loud the crowd gets.
But remember it’s not loudest stadiums, it’s toughest places to play. BDS has the mystique, yes there is noise but you have to walk past the statues and the flags listing all the titles and hear Bear Bryant’s voice coming out of the loud speaker like the voice of God. Tennessee not in top25 is a complete EMBARRASSMENT
They have Virginia tech ahead of Tennessee what a joke
I think it actually is meant as joke
Virginia Tech averaged 32.1 PPG in conference games, 2nd in the ACC. Tennessee average 24.4 PPG in conference ranking 11th in the SEC.
Iowa not being in the top 10 for defense is atrocious. I know they were at 13, but cmon. They return mostly everyone besides DeJean. They are a top 10 defense almost every year for the last 8 years. Nebraska is a top 15 defense. Sure, they had a bad year again, but if it wasn't for their defense, they would have won 2 maybe 3 games last year.
LSU without question. And I'm not a fan. I went to a game there back in the early 2000s. It definitely deserves to be high on the list.
Absolutely. Hate the SEC but it’s LSU, PSU, and Florida for me.
1-LSU
2-The Swamp
3-PSU.
4-Michigan
Those are by far the hardest places to play in my opinion.
TN is also right up there. top 10 for sure. pretty sure Neyland has the highest decibel record (136)
The fact Michigan isn't top 5 and Iowa isnt top 10 is crazy work 🤦🏿♂️

Im just saying, WVU had the best rushing stats in the power 5 last year, they return almost the entire offense, the entire backfield mind you, and WVU is not listed. what makes it worse is that Virginia Tech is weirdly on this list for some reason.
I think people need to have a little context for Colorado. Shedeur Sanders played in 11 games at Colorado last season. He was good, but 17 of 27 touchdowns last season(63%) and 50% of his yards came in 4 games played against defenses ranked 100 or worse. His QBR dropped by an average of 20 points when playing a defense in the top 100. The stats may be artificially inflating the skill of their offense a little.

Oklahoma's stadium can get insanely loud and rowdy. The problem is the big 12 for so many years has scheduled so many 11:00 a.m. games and all they've been able to play is people like Kansas and Baylor and Iowa State, there's just no other marquee programs in that conference and it was so boring as a fan to have to be stuck in that conference because there were no good atmospheres to play in. I haven't been keeping up, so y'all correct me if I'm wrong. But if the offense, defense and overall ratings are based just on talent, that might not be a problem. In NCAA 14, if your head coach and assistant coaches were of a high enough level, you'd see significant overall boosts to the players. Enough to turn an 86 overall team into an 89 overall team. As long as Colorado and USC and other team's coaching staffs are rated properly, in dynasty mode, Colorado will not perform as well as these ratings suggest. But I also don't know if that system carried over into this game fully.

As a Tennessee fan I’m not surprised but what absolutely struck me sideways was Iowa wasn’t in the top 10 on defense at all. And Florida being at 10 on toughest places to play was an absolute joke, and Kyle field harder to play than tiger stadium (not digging at A&M) is just like he said factually wrong. The top three depending on record throughout the season is Neyland, Tiger Standium and Ben Griffin when it comes to stadium performance. Colorado was 4-8 and 1-8 conference that doesn’t deserve top 25 in any sort of power ranking in total defensive and offensive production they didn’t even crack top 50. If it’s a marketing tactic good on them it’s working if it’s not they need to take a DEEP look on who’s deciding overalls and rankings because you have so many sources for ranking like the talent composite, stats from last season, returning production, strength of schedule, and so so many more data points to be accurate with.
All those stadiums in the top 25 had a case to be there, just somewhat bad order. The defense rankings kinda the same thing (minus Colorado and USC).
Offensive rankings had a little too much to drink
Mizzou not being in the top 25 is criminal work.
From a person who actually watches Oregon football:
Stadiums: Top 5.

Winning in the last decade at Alabama has been very difficult. The Crimson Tide are 67-2 at home since the 2013 season, including a 13-1 record against ranked opponents. Only 2019 National Champion LSU has won in Title Town since 2013.

For the team rankings, they were never that accurate because the overall team stats don’t have anything to do with it. They just rate the individual players let the chips fall where they fall. Probably relying too much on recruiting ratings for a lot of the players. So stars like Shedeur and Travis Hunter who are probably close to 99 make up for the deficiencies at OL for Colorado and since Tennessee is starting a redshirt freshman first year starter at QB he’s probably mid to low 80s. And idk maybe the qb is weighed more in their rankings since you’ll actually control him most plays

The toughest places to play is strongly tied to winning. It's more of a dynasty mode feature and if it's not tied to winning then the location would never change. Florida wouldn't be up high because that's my team and we down right suck at the moment. So I cut EA some slack on that.
I love the buffs, but they should be about 75 to 80. The only high ratings belong to Travis and Shedeur. Everyone else will have to be dynamically rated. Travis should be 97 and Shedeur 88 to 90. The transfer D-linemen should average 74…the O-linemen should be about the same.
Wisconsin can be a tough place to play and the stadium does get rocking for big games. However I do think 7 is way to high for us I would have is 15-20 range
So, Oklahoma fan here. Born and raised.
Stadium: Tough and loud. Better than Oregon? FSU? Clemson? I don’t know…
Offense: OU has consistently been an offensive juggernaut for 10 years. CO, Miami, Clemson? Better than Oklahoma? WILD!
Defense: 12th? I’ll take it. Needs to be seen, but I think fair with the returning talent. They should be a top 15 defense this season.
He pointed out usc on defense being ranked 16, which He should. But refused to speak on how the world is a Lincoln Riley offense at Usc not ranked in the top 7-10
Probably because his one playmaker on the entire team that literally won games by playing backyard football But still lost almost every single game in their second half of the season and now they're going into a conference five times as hard with much better defenses and no one knows what that team is going to look like this year. Because Lincoln Riley took the job and I just got progressively worse and worse every year.
@@TheBenzwangerhe has 3 of the last 7 heisman winners. The backup qb threw 6 td’s in his first start in their bowl game. You don’t think he deserves some credit?

Everyone is complaining about these ratings I’d say they definitely adjust them
A lot of these teams are ranked this way simply because they don't lose at home. Stats don't lie. If it's about outcomes, it's probably statistically accurate even though those teams typically play inferior competition.
What's crazy to me about Josh and many of the comments are that they don't have much logic. Why the hell should Auburn or Tennessee be considered a top 5 venue over others when they average multiple losses per season at home?? If you're always mid in the case of Auburn (5 or more losses in 15 of the last 17 seasons) why the hell would I rank your venue as a top 10, let alone a top 5 venue??? New Mexico State just went into Auburn and boatraced them. EVEN, if the teams are even on paper, if your venue is so tough, how the hell are you losing toss up games then? The venue is suppose to be the tiebreaker right? Fake outrage. Auburn is loud when they're playing Alabama, Georgia or a top 25 team. Oh, like most CFB team fanbases. Cry me a river.
You sound ignorant
For years even when Tenn was down players Neyland was the loudest place they played and I mean years - over 100k at night time
I'm an Ohio State fan and for real, we only get hype for one game.
