I never expected to see my hometown somewhat showcased in a bordeaux vid but here we are!
Some context:
Harker Heights and Killeen, Texas are two interconnected cities just a few miles off I-35 in Central Texas. They’re both heavy military towns due to being right next to Fort Cavazos (formerly known as Fort Hood). There’s five high schools in the area: Killeen, Shoemaker, C. E. Ellison, Harker Heights, and Gateway. Due to the proximity of all the schools, each share a heavy and distinct rivalry with the others. This is compounded by the fact that all the football teams played their home games at the same place, Leo Buckley Stadium, which is located on the Killeen High School campus. So when we played each other, it was basically a home game for both teams. As a former student at Ellison (Go Eagles), we absolutely HATED the Harker Heights Knights. It didnt matter how bad either of the teams were (Most of the time, both were pretty bad), there was a huge turnout at the games. Thanks for another great video Bordeaux!
Also yes, Duncanville is one of if not the best high school teams in Texas. Ellison played them in the first round of the playoffs my senior year and we lost 62-0 and did not even get the ball past the 50.

As someone from Texas who played Texas football, it's amazing seeing all these towns in the game. Katy, Rockwall, Cedar Hill, and Duncanville were the top schools my team ever played. 2018 state champs baby 🤠

Conroe and the Woodlands are right beside eachother. Shadow Creek is absolutely a great football school. Southlake Carrol has been a top team in the nation multiple times. Duncanville is absolutely insane as well. Duncanville, DeSoto were top dogs this year. Aledo had their own tv show called Title Town. And the painted decal in the end zone you saw was Killeen ISD. It’s pronounced Kilēēn. Texas HS Football is big here in DFW area.

Being a former football player in Katy ISD (Cinco Ranch H.S.) crazy to see Katy H.S. Featured! That was OUR rival every year (Our is capitalized since we never won against them and they sure didn’t consider Cinco Ranch as a rival) but the stadium would be PACKED!!! What a time to be alive seeing something like this!

1. Starter & Division - Easily should be able to get QB1 alongside playing in the Mt. West Conf. Gives you a good starting experience, and able to take the reigns up. Alongside, the competition starting to get more better with Boise State and San Diego frequently ranked in the Top 24, although sure it ain't on the level of the Power 5 it has potential to reach it.
2. Playbooks & Program - Although it ain't a big program, it's playbooks fit very well for your 'pass-happy' offense', usually focus on short quick passes with spread on the field, tons of RPO plays alongside with a fast paced tempo.
3. Rivals & Matchups - Go against Ashton Jeanty, Tory Horton, Ahmed Hassaein, Jalen Roads, Jack Howell, Mohamed Kamara, Ike Larsen, Jackson Woddard, Malachi Nelson, Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, Ricky White, Fabian Ross, Corey Foreman, Jalen Catalon, and Marquez Cooper. With how the passionate, and competitive the programs are in the Mt. West Conf. you'll be getting a lot of heated games, and especially in Boise State's Blue out, Air Force's Falcon Stadium Flyover, Fresno's Red Wave, and New Mexico's Howl at the Moon.

Harker heights is literally a 45 min drive from my hometown. Killeen is right nearby and the ISD stands for “Independent School District”. Every school district in Texas has ISD at the end of it. It looks weird seeing round rock and cedar park in this game knowing that’s not far from me

What you’re seeing in the endzone is Killeen ISD (Independent School District). Harker Heights is in Killeen. It’s right by Fort Hood about an hour or so north of Austin.
