Way too much reality, darn near made me cry. The big corporate interests are definitely ruining the sport. The most obvious example is Sanders and Colorado. All hype no substance. The greed heads in California destroyed the PAC. In an effort to bring down the SEC it is now a super conference. Rivalries don’t mean anything anymore, and loyalty is just not a virtue. All so true and sad at the same time. Conference realignment, NIL and the transfer portal has killed college football for a lot of the fan base and I surely don't think it'll ever be the all-consuming past time for a lot of us that it's been in the past. It's going to be different (and perhaps a bit of a relief at the same time) to be able to go camping, hunting and fishing in the fall without consulting the college football schedule.
God that hurt to hear. But it is all so true.
Nailed it again! And ya did it in less then 4 minutes!!! Nice job!!!
Always amusing, Matt. Marvelous acting.
As someone who doesn't follow college football, I followed most of the references. I had to look up Urban Meyers ...
As do most fans too
This is true of every aspect of our culture.
I’d argue that not paying college athletes is just as much if not more corporate greed than the situation we’re in now. The difference is that it’s so much more visible now that the ncaa doesn’t need to hide it anymore.
Still a horrifying state
“Yea that won’t be happening…” urban Myers situation 😂😂
that ending is wild💀💀
MATT'S BACK!!! 🎉🎉🔥❤️😎
Dude just explained the demise of college football better than anybody ever has. Summed that shi+ up perfectly.
I wonder when Vegas will start having portal odds 🧐
Matt went off on college football. No survivors.
Money ruined college football. Nearly a century ago.
Grew up on Big 8 & Southwest Conference football. Miss That.
This video got me fs not even the caption but Matt love the energy
College football is turning into to the NFL
And we don’t like them professionalizing our sport
Spot on Matt. Love the ending, I'm gonna go Pac12 myself 😂
Losing long standing college rivalries makes me sick.🤮
There's at least one tradition that remains. University of Miami can still sell beer at the games. They've never had a stadium on campus.
While college football was always the minor leagues for the NFL...it now really feels like a subsidiary of the NFL...not as fun
And meanwhile the _actual_ minor leagues, in baseball, are still as much good fun as they always were. I wish college football was more like that!
This is probably the best sport skit EVER! 😂
Bro funny is not the word for this. Im rolling man. You’re big easting my rn
The kids already get paid and should never get a cent of their new found wealth until after graduation. I’ll always be a true Alabama fan but it’s starting to lose what made it so great.
Awesome video Matt!
I do hope they don't ruin the "Red River Showdown". Some things should not be touched!
I see what you did there.
You mean the Red River Shootout? Don't know of this "Showdown" you speak of...
Texas and OU extended their Cotton Bowl deal through 2036, thank goodness it's not moving to Arlington
@@crazydude5825 It goes by several different names - I have heard Showdown, Shootout, Classic, Rivalry - as long as I can watch UT and OU I am happy.
@@acelm8437 Good to hear! It's just not the State Fair without the Texas and OU fans. And it seems like we hit the State Fair on that Saturday every other year - usually because it's beginning to cool down about then.
🙌 leave it to us to break something that was working just fine.
I understood literally none of these references and I still enjoyed this video. ❤
Ea didn’t ruin it they are the only good thing to come out of the whole NIL stuff
At least in the new game we can re-arrange conferences so they can make sense again 🥲
The current state of college football is the predictable result of the changes that were made. It's just a worse version of the NFL now, which is also just a worse version of itself compared to 15 years ago.
This was AMAZING.... I couldn't have started my morning off in a better way. Can't wait for the season to start now!
My man doesn’t miss
I can’t wait for this game!!!
Yup! The devs for NCAA were always better and more creative than the Maddens. Plus, this game is showing so much creativity
Matt, you really hit the nail on the head here. College football has always been better than professional football imo, but it really seems to have become a semi-pro league. which is funny because we now have the UFL/XFL merger league which is somehow a tier below college. I worry all the time about how the pageantry might be a thing of the past.
So ...how is this EA's fault? I love dumping on EA all day and night, but what happened to College Football is not the responsibility of EA. That's the NCAA, conference commissioners, TV executives and lawyers fault.
I wouldn't say it's entirely EA's fault. Those parties you named certainly had a part, but Ed O'Bannon's lawsuit lit the match.
