Pocket organizers definitely aren't for me, but one appealing idea is individual kits for respective occasions. Like one kit set up for work, one kit set up for carrying around the house on weekends, one kit for road trips, etc....
Just wanted to throw this out as an option but I bought a small nylon case that was labeled as a camera case from Walmart. The case has a divided main compartment and a side compartment both which zip shut. The small case fits in my dress pants as well as jeans without bulk (depending on what you carry) but I have no problem carrying a juice S2, mini Maglite with spare batteryt, bic lighter, and bandaids and still have room to spare. it only cost a few dollars.
My Fisher space pen bullet is like a boomerang... I've lost it probably 20 times over the years and it always comes up somewhere random like 3 months later
Good video - I am new to the pocket organizer world and this gave me a great, detailed view of the options and landscape. Well done - thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and experiences
Not tactical beads. 🤣🤣🤣 Combat Beads is a company. I will do a lanyard video to this one soon. Then dive deeper as time goes on. Now that the holidays are out of the way, it's going to be a free for all.
Taylor, I hope hope that you are having an excellent Christmas and New Year season as well. You've mentioned the Benchmade 940 Osborne a number of times, and I'd like to say that it is probably my most favorite EDC knife for the last year. I picked my knife up from REI with my dividend return and using their 20% off coupon. It greatly reduced the overall cost out of pocket. However, I think that you should find a dealer and hold the knife in your hand prior to purchase. The scales have a texture to them that I was not expecting when I first received my knife. It's not horrible, it just is unlike any other knife I've ever owned or felt. I hope this helps. BTW, what coffee are you drinking these days?
@@chrishyde7798 Thanks! And that's a solid idea on the purchase. I'll have my dividend soon enough! Currently, I'm drinking Pure Intentions because it's local (and I have a deal worked out with a local coffee shop exchanging photos for coffee). But Nightflyer (previously Parliament) is still my favorite.
Solid video...as always. I have been carrying a Runt 2.0 from Hitch and Timber. I carry it in my left front pocket and it has very little bulk in my jeans or even dress pants. In the front I carry a SAK Cadet, space pen, and Lumintop AAA TI...in the back I have a metal GO Comb, 2 business cards and a Pocket Tripod (about the size of 2 credit cards). The leather has formed well around everything and I cannot leave the house without it. Just today, Christmas, I used everything in there except for my business cards. I do wish I could use a Pioneer X instead of the Cadet but I don’t think it would fit well as the Cadet sits about even to the top of the leather. If anyone else is using the Pioneer X in the Runt, please let me know. Thanks again for the video and advise. Carry on!!
I realize this is totally not what I should take away from the video but the comment about having to readjust a knife back to vertical is super relatable and I’m glad I’m not crazy. None of my friends or family care and think I’m nuts but it drives me crazy.
pouches and organizers make a lot of sense in a bag even more than a pocket. I was carrying altoids cans with a small lighter, knife and flashlight, it worked but was a little bit of a pita. I liked my organizers but then i made my wallet with organizer for a mini maglight, a minisharpy and a small pen. the flashlight comes in handy a LOT and so does the sharpy.. at the zoo we wrote the kids names and phone number on their arm as well as marking drinks, xmas day the oldest gbrat used my sharpy to mark the batteries and remotes for the 2 rc cars he and his brother got, then it got used to mark leftover packages...not so sure about that whole stand up in the pocket thing but organizers do let you grab what you want from the other junk and change easily
I got the Olight Perun mini and i’m super satisfied by not only its tiny size but it’s brightness and build quality. Good battery life and good controls, but it doesn’t weigh down your pockets.
I understand why some people would benefit from this kind of thing, and I have thought about getting my youngest son one. but I have been carrying my same EDC set up ( with minor changes to specific gear) for over 25 years, and have really got things tuned in just how I like them. as you said, everyone has their own taste.
I also have a little pouch in my backpack to organize my daily tools. As i normally grab my backback evertime i go out, i have all i need. In my pockets i dont like to have a pocket organizer, it is too bulky. Like my wallet I would take it out everytime i sit. So i only put in my pocket the things i need when i am without a backpack, that means inside or around the house. Beside the smartphone and the keys, this is a mini flashlight on the keyring a victorinox mini champ in the fifth jeans pocket and a deejo edc knife with pocket clip. I dont need a pen with me, cause i normally dont write much manually when i can note everything on my smartphone.
@@FreeSalesTips Those are clearly not the same thing and you know it. You can buy most leather for pittance. I'm not bashing the craft, but it doesn't take a genius to make a leather pocket. These are clearly overpriced
@@neilorourke71 It is the same thing. The cost of goods sold is normally a tiny fraction of the market price. The cost of American labour is normally the bulk of the price. This is especially the case for states with minimum wage laws.
I agree with your point about the penknife in the pocket. However more important is making sure that it doesn't just fall out. So to put my mind at rest I have a loop of string threaded through the eyelet and then hitch the rest of the loop around my belt so that the penknife fits snugly in the little watch pocket of my jeans. If you tie the ends of the string loop as slip knots you can shorten or increase the size of the loop so you can adjust the length to suit; for wrapping around your belt or over your head. Quick & easy to get at & use but safe & secure at all times. Just one thing less to worry about losing.
You convinced me with the grab and go concept. I have 4 now. I had to get the last one because I created a copper/brass carry. Pilar copper Brass space pen Olight brass flashlight.
I get this. I usually have wallet keys pocket knife in my left and phone in right. I hate digging thru the left and pulling out the wrong thing. Especially when i already got my hands full
I think you said the key phrase that stops me from getting a organizer. I have a knife, light, pen and pad.. and being able to put them in different pockets allows me to stay slim without ruining the lines of my clothing etc. I don't want to be walking around on a date with an inch or inch and a half bulge in my front pocket.. can't put in the back.. can't sit on that thing. and in the front it's just going to draw attention and look goofy.
some of the leather organizers for the Leatherman are beautiful and allow you to carry the bits that fit into the Surge. Also a flashlight and a similar item too.
I used to carry my Swiss army knife and my flashlight on a belt loop organizer that my friend made for me. It was a great system and I really liked it and it kept clutter out of my pockets. However I stopped wearing belts and have switched to suspenders so there's not really a suspender based system that I found to replace it LOL I don't carry a pocket organizer for two reasons. The first one is that I don't like having all the weight and bulk in one spot. I keep a flashlight and a Swiss army knife in the watch pocket on my right hand side in my jeans, pen and phone in my left front pocket, notepad in my back left pocket, wallet in my back right pocket. It spreads it all out sort of evenly so I don't have excessive bulk in any one spot. The second reason is that I feel like it just kind of adds an extra step. Like if I want to use my pocket knife instead of just taking my pocket knife out of my pocket or off a belt thing, I have to take the organizer out, and then take the knife out of the organizer and it just kind of adds extra steps and I feel like I would end up fumbling around trying to figure out what to do with all the stuff in my hands. And now that you mention it I most definitely would leave my organizer somewhere and lose all of my gear at once which would be horribly unfortunate because I'm a broke son of a b**** and can't afford to go out and purchase replacement gear.
Thanks for this Taylor. I know you like ARC Co, grommets fell off of a product from them immediately upon using. They were extremely difficult to deal with, I ultimately ended up returning it, they begrudgingly approved my return. Needles to say, I'm out. Went with Hitch & Timer.... Fantastic!!!
I’d consider them. I don’t like clipping my knife or flashlight to my pocket, they’re usually tight and a hassle to keep clipping them back since both get used all day for me. But it is annoying when they skip sideways in my pocket also. I carry a rubber tipped Coast flashlight because as a mechanic it helps to have a light I can hold in my teeth and keep my hands free to work.
Hi. I carry all my gear in pocket organizers because l use different bags. One is for work and one is for personal use. It is much easier to transfer gear when you have your gear in organizers. I try not to carry anything in my pockets. Take care. Marry Christmas and happy New year.
Merry Christmas and thanks for the new video. I know you have tossed around the idea of opening up submission to pocket organizers and I would love it if you did! Women's jeans do not support phones in pockets let alone EDC gear so anything out of my usual work day comes in a pouch. Keep up the good work and look forward to more videos in the new year
I carry 2 phones a full Wallet in the rear and my charger in the other side. Then the leather man wave, xs knipex cobra, fenix e35, and a wera tool check plus. Bless a good belt
I've been using a cocoon grid it backpack organizer for my EDC that I dont use frequently like a flashlight multitool etc it makes it really easy for me just a suggestion
I like the tail end comment. If you spend your whole life edc-ing a certain way, then change it up... careful, then you're in the edc danger zone- i.e, losing, forgetting, misplacing etc. I know it from experience. Wise remark, thanks!
At times I feel like I've got enough stuff that I'd like to carry or have with me that would be the proverbial "Bat belt", and could use such a consolidated option, in fact would probably be a blessing to find the one (or two) multipurpose item.
My space pen sits right ext to my lighter in my "watch pocket" on my jeans(i wear jeans every day due to work). I may try one of these edc organizers for the weekends and such. Good video, new sub!
I'm weird and like to have quick access to my knife and flashlight. Probably not entirely necessary but it's my preference. A more practical issue is easy access to items. It's nice to be able to pull out a knife or flashlight easily with one hand (I work nights often and open a lot of boxes). I like the idea for pens, note pads and wallet stuff though.
Interesting. I carry my military retired ID and credit card in an ID display clip on a lanyard around my neck. One of those organizers with a grommet I could carry the same way but handle more things. I don't like having anything in my rear pockets. I ordered a lipstick-sized keychain flashlight based on your reviewing 'em. Looks like that could go into an organizer, too. I could adapt your lanyard idea for my EDC knife and the flashlight. I usually leave my S8+ phone in the car. It might fit in an organizer. I do have a belt-clip slip case for just the phone. Hmm... Some organizers clip onto a belt, too. Funny, when I used to carry a briefcase, I bought one made of ballistic cloth. I cut out a zippered pouch from the back compartment and "free-floated" it in the front of the briefcase as... an organizer. Only thing, it was just the one compartment. But, I had the concept down! Is there such a thing as an EDC Fidget Spinner?
We love to see a video about the chords and beads you put on your knives specifically the para 2 of yours and the proper thanks in advance. Loving your channel.
You really need to look at the Dewalt Smartphone holder. It carries so much more and just clips off your belt in one second. $20.00 at home depot. . I just cut a little Rubbermaid box to fit in the sleeve to deal with the cutouts. . After a year the turnable belt clip will get too loose so I just drill a tiny hole through that assembly and wire a paper clip through it to get a couple more years out of it.
Great vids! Super high production quality and awesome info. Liked and subbed. Keep up the great work!! That leather belt "holster" is a very cool idea, I just don't know that I have any more room on my belt for another holster beyond the one I already have and the mag pouch. May have to try one of those pocket organizers out though...
have you ever used / reviewed a drop leg bag? Im a welder and i EDC A LOT of gear including a 6 x 9 steno pad when im working a job. My wife went looking for a fanny pack as a joke but instead found loads of drop leg bags on amazon i cant shake the thought that would not be a bad idea... thoughts?
Nitro - I’m not a welder and did not know what a drop leg bag was until I looked it up just now, but I’ll throw in my two cents worth and say go for it. They are inexpensive, and if it makes your working life easier it’s worth every penny. Best wishes.
I lost a titanium Bit Bar filled with a bunch of Wiha bits. It was a sad day. The pocket clip on it is pretty bad. Poor retention and the exterior is just too slick. Maybe I would’ve gotten the FRN model
Never really needed a knife ever and now days a smart phone does everything. Little flashlight, notebook. Credit card and a bit of cash all in the case. Job done !
Steven Harper always carry a knife minimum for self defense. It’s not everyday that you’ll get attacked but in the off chance you do, you’ll be glad you have it. It’s not a big deal if I need a flashlight and don’t have it.
I hate having big ass chunks of stuff in my pockets. I already have a huge phone that takes up an entire pocket as to avoid screen issues, and a wad of keys in my other pocket. Adding any more to that is an issue for me. I decided to make a leather organizer/sheath to carry a clip less knife, small light and pen and it is carried scout style on my belt. That has been the best way to carry my knife/light as I just hate having a knife adding to my pocket bulk and most of the time the back pocket is out of the question as I sit in hard shitty chairs at work, and anything substantial in that pocket is annoying to sit on
I have the exact opposite approach: I can't stand a great big lump in my pocket and would rather have the weight spread out over multiple pockets. It also looks better not having a bulge. I'm fairly consistent in where I put things, so I'm not inclined to lose them.
The organizer you use yourself, on this video for the belt, will it fit in you back pocket if you fold the belt loops? It's pretty hard to find organizer in Germany... And this one you're using is one of the organizer I can find easyli
one of the reasons I have never carried a organizer for my EDC was the ability to get to it quickly, almost like Johnnie on the spot. my light and blade was the most important and them my pen.
I have a fairly large Swiss Army knife on one hip and want to carry a Leatherman Surge on the other one...on my belt. They mail some really nice ones these days. Some from Ivan.
I could see the holster one for work use. but don't see the point for pocket carry, just one more step to get my knaf out. maybe for a bag that doesn't have pockets but most do. I will say they look good all loaded out for I guess the purpose of pics?
Do you think putting a ONO fidget roller in the multi section part works? cuz I can't carry a multitool, since I'm a student but this EDC organizer is just badass.
I'm curious why you kept the pocket clip on the Para 2 if you have it in the leather sheath? Not criticism just curious, is it aesthetic or functional?
I carry an EDC pocket organizer as an excuse to carry more gear. I got one and instead of putting my existing EDC in it, put all new stuff so now my EDC has just doubled lmao.
At some point we as tough burly men should just accept that we need a sack with a shoulder sling. I blame cell phones. My beeper never took up a whole pocket.
@@elspoko so having a dick means we don't need something like a bag that holds thing we need? Man up and wear a "purse". Sad most are worried about damaging their fragile egos.
I carry more stuff than the average person for work. I was thinking about getting a belt organizer but wasn't sure since I would take it off after work anyways lol is it worth it?
I looked into different designs of EDC organizers and they don't fit my specific needs - quite expensive costing some $60-$100. So, I started designing them myself and made a couple of iterations. How about a video of people like me who make their own EDC organizers? I just waiting for my leather material to arrive to finally create the final iteration after 4 design experiments.
love getting a bit vault for Christmas leaving it in my living room for an hour while i take a nap and then comeback to get it realizing its broken and my mom said my sister was playing with it. Kill me
I know this is a sponsored video but I'm suprised that there is no mention of Maxpedition products for organizing. I have 2 that I carry in my edc bag and they have been around forever. Good videos as always thanks
I wish they made one to carry a knife and a key fob and some cards. I don't really think many people need to carry a pen but a key fob is becoming more common with push to start cars
For me, it doesn't make sense to use a PO for things that already have clips. And for my SAK that doesn't have a clip, I know where to find it. Right beneath my wallet, lying horizontally. So, either way, it takes the same number of movements to access my SAK with or without a PO. They look cool. But unless used as an organizer within a briefcase or bag/backpack, I don't find them to be helpful when used as a pocket within in the pockets of my pants. Thanks for taking the time.
I know you all love your EDC and I like flashlights knifes and pens but 1: I dont use them 2: I hate to carry things in my pockets! just my phone wallet and keys all my pockets are full and is so uncomfortable to put stuff in your back pockets specially when you sit down. are you gonna sit on your stuff?

I just use a molle mag pouch
I love that molle system so much
You really need to look at the Dewalt Smartphone holder.
The hitch an timber wallet works great
have you ever used / reviewed a drop leg bag? Im a welder and i EDC A LOT of gear including a 6 x 9 steno pad when im working a job. My wife went looking for a fanny pack as a joke but instead found loads of drop leg bags on amazon i cant shake the thought that would not be a bad idea... thoughts?
Nitro the only thing you need is a flashlight and a tungsten holder. You’re overthinking welding.
Nitro - I’m not a welder and did not know what a drop leg bag was until I looked it up just now, but I’ll throw in my two cents worth and say go for it. They are inexpensive, and if it makes your working life easier it’s worth every penny. Best wishes.
Dude. I totally got caught off guard and thought you were about to rap at 1:14 😂😂😂
I lost a titanium Bit Bar filled with a bunch of Wiha bits. It was a sad day. The pocket clip on it is pretty bad. Poor retention and the exterior is just too slick.
Maybe I would’ve gotten the FRN model
nothing is overkill. I edc a Leatherman surge simply because I like how robust and heavy duty it really is
I edc a h&t. It’s efficient and effective. Much more clean and nice. Mine holds my pen, flashlight, sak and cards.
Cheap little leather change purse works well too.
Nice video! You certainly have helped me get more organized. Thanks!
Love Hitch and Timber products! I’m rocking the Duz All in Brown Nut:)
I'm gonna try one on a lanyard around my neck. It's how I already carry my ID and credit card.
Or... how 'bout a shoulder holster!
Worth a try. I wouldn’t want it to get too heavy though.
I just lost a very nice flashlight and pen, so yeah. I need an organizer!
I can relate. I have found my pen or my light in sofa cushions or beside car seat countless times.
Nice side-by-side comparison video! Just subscribed to your channel. This helped me organize my EDC stuff in a better and more efficient way. 👍
I'm really tempted to learn how to leatherwork so I can make a custom EDC case for myself
I looked at hitch and timbers and it took like 2 minutes to find my perfect pocket organizer for how I like to carry my stuff
Do you think putting a ONO fidget roller in the multi section part works? cuz I can't carry a multitool, since I'm a student but this EDC organizer is just badass.
Hey brother, what camera do you use to film this video?
I should submit one day i think you will like the leather wallet organizer that i've made myself since the hitch and timber doesn't fit french IDs
I'm curious why you kept the pocket clip on the Para 2 if you have it in the leather sheath? Not criticism just curious, is it aesthetic or functional?
I loved this vid! You've earned a new sub!
Why do you need a flashlight for everyday use? Or a notepad? Both of thise things on on cellphones. What do you guys do all day
Aloha, good show Brother. I hope you had a great Christmas.
Lol he said something about the fisher space pen bullet and I carry one everyday and I haven't lost it in the 1 year I've had it lol
I don't used, bat I think I should try it
Thanks for this video
I’ve love watching your videos Taylor ✊🏾 Been a fan since the original MOD days. Would it be possible to see a “7 reasons you should” playlist?
I carry an EDC pocket organizer as an excuse to carry more gear. I got one and instead of putting my existing EDC in it, put all new stuff so now my EDC has just doubled lmao.
At some point we as tough burly men should just accept that we need a sack with a shoulder sling. I blame cell phones. My beeper never took up a whole pocket.
You mean a purse?
Spock a man bag.
Pocket organizer. I use them in my backpack, car, and very rarely on my belt.
Just ordered my second organiser from drop. Loving them. These sound nice but hard to get here in Australia
Is that an Olight S2R baton in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
I try to carry as less as possible I just can't justify adding something else in my pocket ... but I do like the belt organizer
Just got the yellow birch outfitters pocket pro
love getting a bit vault for Christmas leaving it in my living room for an hour while i take a nap and then comeback to get it realizing its broken and my mom said my sister was playing with it. Kill me
So you're saying it's not durable?
I know this is a sponsored video but I'm suprised that there is no mention of Maxpedition products for organizing. I have 2 that I carry in my edc bag and they have been around forever. Good videos as always thanks
I did mention them no just don't have any on hand.
Merry Christmas sir, I’m getting a Hitch and Timber when I decide which one I want.
I use an Alpaka admin pouch in my sporran for my EDC.
Nice love the leather. As always be safe wishing you a Merry Christmas
I know you all love your EDC and I like flashlights knifes and pens but 1: I dont use them
2: I hate to carry things in my pockets! just my phone wallet and keys all my pockets are full and is so uncomfortable to put stuff in your back pockets specially when you sit down. are you gonna sit on your stuff?
Paul Rojas always carry a knife minimum for self defense
I like that belt organizer!
I find usefull the wazoo cache belt to carry small items around your waist. It works for me. I would suggest to check it out.
Great vid. Thanks for the info 👍
