My EDC pocket knife is a Kershaw 1920 Select Fire. It has a very nice and beefy blade with no serrations. It holds a great edge and sharpens fairly readily. But it fits this video because it has a swing out arm with a 1/4" socket driver. 4 bits are in spring secured, swing out bit holders. It comes with two flat and two Phillips bits, but it'll work with any single ended bits. There's a very short ruler on the swing arm, and the recess it closes into is a bottle opener. Costs about $35, and has a nice strong pocket clip. I'm trying to find a good field knife sharpener. I've tried several. So far, the Work Sharp Field Sharpener is good for my needs. It has two diamond plates, coarse 220 and fine 600. There's a large ceramic rod that rotates to show a coarser and finer surface for honing. There's a very small ceramic rod for sharpening serrations. But the best part is the narrow but serviceable leather strop pre-saturated with green stropping compound. The whole thing is lightweight and compact, and works great on just about anything. I have and carry that Titanium tape measure on a shot bead chain around my neck asking with a tiny 550 lumen RovyVon flashlight with a glow in the dark blue case. One of the light modes is a UV blacklight that makes a good night light that doesn't destroy your night vision. I always have a small Fresnel lens in my wallet for emergency fire starting. If I have my bag, though, I have several fire starting tools and kinds of tinder. I have an odd EDC tools, a Covert Companion lockpick set. I'm a sport lockpicker, so it's fun. But if I must get through a lock, I have the tools. Instead of the bit vault, I have the Budi stick. Holds 6 microSD cards, two phone SIM cards, a short data and charge cable, with a full set of adapters, a microSD reader/writer, and a SIM tray tool. The other end is a small phone stand. It's a little longer than that bit vault, but it has more features.
6:20, that's not a bit holder, the "dewalt one" that is a quarter inch hex driver. It will marginally hold onto a hex shank for a 1/4" drive, but it isn't a bit holder, nor is a bit holder a quarter driver, though there is some overlap where they will perform tasks meant for the other.
I realize this video is a year old, and I'm behind the curve here, but my EDC is a Milwaukee Fastback with the screwdriver end. I'm an electrician, and a knife of some sort is almost mandatory, the screwdriver end is a nice bonus for when I climb up a ladder and forget my Klein screwdriver, I just pull out the knife and open the junction box or whatever instead of having to go back down to my tool cart. I found this video because I was looking for tactical pens, a concept I only recently discovered and now I'm intrigued. I may get one, may not, not sure yet. So far I'm leaning toward the Atomic Bear, because it has a built-in flashlight, and as an electrician, I frequently find myself working in the dark. I'm also just an enthusiast of flashlights in general, and have dozens. Hardhat lights, penlights, magnetic work lights, etc. Lights that double as a phone charging bank, you name it, if you want me to just throw money at you and give me a product, put a light on it. One of my favorites is the newish Klein flashlight with built-in laser pointer, my only complaint with it is that the pocket clip is a bit weak, it gets ripped off my side by ductwork hangers and other typical things in a construction environment. It's a bit too bulky to be described as a pocket light, I can't really put it in a shirt pocket, and it often gets left on my truck dashboard even though I like it in theory and spent around $50 on it. I also had some lights I bought at either Harbor Freight or Tractor Supply, I forget which, that I quite liked but weren't very durable. They were these multi-function lights with a yellow plastic body, found them on clearance for like $7, discounted from an original price in the 20s. I loved them when I started using them, because they had a strong magnetic base, could stick them to I-beams, ductwork, sprinkler pipes, whatever to see what I was doing. The first time I dropped one, it held up, and I was pleasantly surprised, even though the battery percentage display got cockeyed. The second time I dropped one, it fell apart. It is technically still usable, the light still works, but the body is in 3 pieces with the internal wires dangling out.
I love the rip spool, but as for the tinderZip, I would rather get some Titan Survivor Cord and a bag of those end clamps to make my own zipper pulls with even more options inside. Just my opinion.
I think that's a really cool idea! Though I can't find what you're referring to when you say "bag of those end clamps". Can you share a better phrase that will yield appropriate Amazon or Google results?
I got a few of those pen light/lighters and just threw them in a drawer somewhere because the instructions weren’t in English and I didn’t even know it was called to search online for demo. I’ll have to find them and try them out now thanks for sharing.
I have that pill opener and I love it. It comes in handier than I expected. It keeps gunk off your keys from opening tape. I hung it on my dog for a while when I couldn’t find a ring for his rabies tag. I’d be like “come, I need to open a box! Come here boy!”
I have the bit vault. I bought it because of your original video and I just toss it on my belt still today. I just carry edc medicine in it, Tylenol, allergy meds, etc. definitely has come in handy fairly often.
"Thumbs up" earned with the SICK SMOKE RING off that Wazoo fire starter! And at 2:00 on the money! Noice! I, myself, have the sharpening stone necklace, and it is BEAUTIFUL. It looks and feels SO CLASSY, yet it is so functional at around 600-800 grit. I LOVE IT.
Stuff like the tape measure isn't necessarily key-ring material, but key rings don't have to be the only thing you might attach small tools to. Rather than having a box or pouch for small tools that you keep in a backpack, it strikes me that having a ring for your small tools, perhaps with short cable extensions on some of them, would be a good way to make sure you can't easily lose individual tools just because you've opened their container. You could even attach the ring to your belt (loop) or a backpack strap and use the jangling to forewarn bears and such when out on a trail.
The carribiner hiding spot would be a great place to stash a nitro pill 💊 for people with heart problems or some other kind of emergency pill 💊 😆, but yeah it’s pretty gimmicky. Awesome content. Thanks for the post.
I’ve had a Swiss Qlip on my Tinker (funnily enough) for about a year now and love it. Don’t get my wrong it’s bulky and ugly but works and until I get a pocket slip this is perfect.
At first I thought it was a Hamilton Intramatic panda chrono. But the lugs are different. Then I thought about the Seagull 1963 Sugess panda...no again.
You know those little stash containers you can put a little bit of gun lube and bore cleaner in for your edc side arm or you can wrap a little cotton balls in vasoline and put them in plastic and then stuff them down there as a fire starter to start with your lighter. Honestly the possibilities are endless
I like the idea of such a small ferro rod. My first thought was for that size you could attach it to a lanyard hole on a knife or sheath. Loop it though like a zipper pull so you can take it off easily and strike it with your knife spine.
That CC mini driver was in my pocket every day for years when I worked at a car dealership. Perfect for always having something to take plates on and off with. Mine is beat to crap and have been waiting for them to come back in stock.

It will marginally hold onto a hex shank for a 1/4" drive, but it isn't a bit holder, nor is a bit holder a quarter driver, though there is some overlap where they will perform tasks meant for the other.
for the carabiner, you can put a password in the "secret" compartment so you can remember the code for a lock or some stuff like that.
My man is that a Herman Slim? Very nice sir, I actually have mine in my pocket today.
22:20 "I lost all mine..." If that ain't me! 😂😂
Looking slim. Keep it up. I need to get on it myself. 💪😎
Cool vid, nice coverage.
Hey! Nice Herman knife. I've wanted one of those for a long time.
the MecArmy S7X, i might just buy that for a key chain, weed and lighter mix. literally perfect
I have the whetstone pendant and can vouch for it. Really nice quality and will touch up an edge nicely in the field
😳
"Thumbs up" earned with the SICK SMOKE RING off that Wazoo fire starter! And at 2:00 on the money! Noice! I, myself, have the sharpening stone necklace, and it is BEAUTIFUL. It looks and feels SO CLASSY, yet it is so functional at around 600-800 grit. I LOVE IT.
The firestarter necklace is striked easier by wrapping the rod around your finger so you can strike the whole length
What's the watch you are wearing? Looks really cool
At first I thought it was a Hamilton intramatic panda chrono, but the lugs are different. Then I thought it was a Seagull 1963 sugess, but no again.
That a lorier Gemini ? Nice ! They make great watches, waiting on my falcon 3
Looking good dude!
I'm curious on the flinch striker(?) on 21:21 but you didn't include the link on your description. Where is it from? I tried googling without result
The Gemini is my favorite out of all the gizmos.
I actually have both of the necklaces. I love them both. Haven't used them yet. But it's always good to have on "just in case".
Looking cut AF bro. You’re motivating me! Great video as always!
I totally know what you mean about allergy medicine, I dropped sugar from my diet and now I have a whole lot more space in my everyday carry
Lookin good, great job on the weight loss!
21:22 what does he call the fire starter? mecarmy flint striker? what is the name of that exact one he shows
Stuff like the tape measure isn't necessarily key-ring material, but key rings don't have to be the only thing you might attach small tools to.
@2:02 The wazoo should definitely do keychain versions of their necklace.
tudor panda!!!!! thats a cool watch man
Great and fun vid! Would love to see more.
Yoooo my man is lookin fit!!!
Curious observation question- What's the watch bracelet?
At first I thought it was a Hamilton Intramatic panda chrono. But the lugs are different. Then I thought about the Seagull 1963 Sugess panda...no again.
As someone new to prepping the one i like is the whet stone necklace
where can I get the mech army flint striker you mentioned during the lever gear bitvault?
If I can't think of a gift for someone, Wazoo has been a great fallback. Love the site
I like these. Plus I like your honest review of whether it is gimmicky or not. Take a look at the Kershaw Kapsul, manual OTF.
That smoke ring warranted a like
8:37 what kind of a baking pan is that?
You know those little stash containers you can put a little bit of gun lube and bore cleaner in for your edc side arm or you can wrap a little cotton balls in vasoline and put them in plastic and then stuff them down there as a fire starter to start with your lighter. Honestly the possibilities are endless
Thanks, great video
I like the idea of such a small ferro rod. My first thought was for that size you could attach it to a lanyard hole on a knife or sheath. Loop it though like a zipper pull so you can take it off easily and strike it with your knife spine.
That lever gear look great if you are a knife guy soy you can carry your bits and other little tools for any emergency great recommendation 👍
Love that room brother! And you're okay too.
Also wonder if the double sided bit @6:00 would work in the gear vault @20:00 and help save room in there.
I have a fire starter pendant I made. I love gimmicks and fun edc, but it does add weight 😅
What is that screwdriver at 13:39?
What’s up with the blisters on back of hand? Must be a cool story attached to it? Do tell. Cheers!
Was wondering the same thing myself.
Attacked by a giant spider, obviously
the look of pure joy and woonderment when that fire starter popped a smoke ring :) its the simple things in life eh
Congratulations on the weight loss bro, looking good
That CC mini driver was in my pocket every day for years when I worked at a car dealership. Perfect for always having something to take plates on and off with.
Mine is beat to crap and have been waiting for them to come back in stock.
You can sharpen your knife with the ceramic on the wazoo fire starter necklace
The Dangler type clip is a much better choice.
