With the PotP fiogure now hitting about the same prices in the aftermarket, bigness, animation accuracy, and birb make the Legacy version much more attractive. Mostly birb, TBH, but the other bits too. It is too bad the buggy mode looks wonky, but for a type of vehicle that's generally handbuilt as a one off by some dude in a garage, it's not like that's too unrealistic as such.
New Perspective End video to pair with my morning coffee... Excellent. Your interjections from the future had me laughing. Also, now i feel like I need to get PotP Beachcomber.
I'm upset about Brawn's death, not so much that he was shot in the shoulder, but that he was killed by one blast from Megatron, whereas in one scene of the show (The only time Brawn got his chance to shine) he was able to tank shots from Megatron, Soundwave, and the Seekers, and walked away without even a scratch
Just got the brawn a few days ago, and yes actually feel ok paying full price cause it immediately made me happy to look at and transform. Every time i see beachcomber in stores it's like, meh. And I have the potp one. Great new video, thanks for giving us a 2 in one.
-Got my hands on Studio Series 86 Brawn last week. I can never get over how his helmet looks like a dutch boy haircut, but the figure is cool. I have him stored next to the Bumblebee movie cybertronian Brawn, the one with the superior helmet design. Hope for the mold to be used for new version of Outback in the Transformers toyline's future. -I haven't found Legacy Evolution Beachcomber yet. I honestly don't know if I should get him. As the Power of the Primes figure fits his anti-war personality, since he doesn't come with a weapon. But the Legacy figure does, and come with the Paradise Parakeet(I hope my copy does, sorry your copy doesn't) from the G1 Golden Lagoon episode that Beachcomber was famous for. Which also shows his love for nature personality. Guess I'm still deciding which one embodies the character more for my collection. -I agree. Iron Man 2, Thor: The Dark World, and Avengers: Age of Ultron weren't that good. However, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, is the best out of the superhero 2nds movie in the MCU list. Fight me.
Man, i’m really sorry you don’t enjoy the Beachcomber that much. For me, he’s well worth it as the most cartoon accurate version of my favorite character. His POTP toy was one of the first I got when I *really* got into collecting, along with RID15 Starscream and TR Hot Rod. I love that thing to death, I transformed it so much i eventually snapped off the pegs on the roll bars on the feet. But as much as I love that thing, the proportions always bothered me, it was never quite *perfect*, and now I have a perfect looking one. Fun fact I actually paid closer to 33 for it, not 25 because the week it came out i was in ireland where figures are more expensive. He has his flaws but I really enjoy him
I think it’s fair to say Legacy Evolution might just be the best Transformers Toyline in like the last 10 years Like thus far, zero actual stinkers, the only candidate for a “bad figure” is a reissue of a rare-ass exclusive from 2020, all others are either ok or great So you know whatever the designers are smoking is some GOOD SH*T
I got Beachcomber a few months ago and he’s easily one of my favourites I have. It took everything good about the beachcomber from PotP, upsized it and made it even better. Aside from the feet being a bit weird, mainly the heels, it’s basically perfect imo Brawn looks solid and I hope I can get him at some point Also, being really brave with that marvel take lmao
I bought the figure and like it, but the scale of the new beachcomber is BIG; I mean he looks bigger as Warpath! especially when comparing the buggy to Warpath's Tank mode!
I love brawn, he’s so much fun. I don’t have beachcomber yet, but everyone except for you is saying he’s peak. I have that old legends fig, and it’s very good. The new one is just so much more accurate size and scale wise. Actually having accessories this time around is great, as opposed to me just giving the potp one a Lego parrot. Overall give the review a universe hound/10.
Dude! Once again you perfectly captured my reaction to that Beachcomber... I like him but I immediately thought 'this isn't enough better'... And I got bird.
Actually, the Bumblebee movie kinda explains the helmet by making him have a more Dwarf-like design- and, it makes SO MUCH MORE SENSE why his helmet looks like that- he's a short, buff lil dude with a heart of gold! Hell, he might well be a miner before the war!
For legacy beachcomber: as always, I do find many of your points valid. However, you did tab the arm tabs into the wrong hole in the legs. The arm tabs on legacy beachcomber actually go into the middle slot, and then the legs drooped slightly downwards. This doesn't do much for looks or functionality, it just makes the legs work with you like 2.173% better. Also, with the leg panels, the knees actually go between 80 and 85 degrees depending on how you project the angle of the shin. The knees also dont go straight, stopping at 5 to 10 degrees depending on how you angle the shin, which means you have between 70 and 80 degrees of knee bend. I simply removed the shin panels off the friction joint and now the toy works with me about 17% better.
See the thing is, I tried to get them into the middle slots. One of the problems with them is that they like to go into the two end slots, and getting them in the right ones is a pain.
Brawn is such an awesome figure very accurate to his animation with a very clever hound like transformation to the point where I paid $12 over retail(WHICH I NEVER DO) to get him a little early.I usually wait until the price drops a little below retail before I buy a figure or goes on clearance but I don't think that's gonna happen with this figure. He was definitely one of my favorites and a major character in the first 2 seasons to the point where he didn't require his own episode like smokescreen, tracks, and beachcomber.
Brawn: My current stand-in on my Generations shelf are the Headmaster tread-cycle guy and the Universe '08 one, and while Studio Series Rufus would go on my Studio Series shelf, I still want him because he's an awesome little robot dwarf. Beachcomber: I had the POTP for a few years, I remember I got him for the Fourth of July that year, and he was also an awesome little hippie robot. Sadly, I lost him a trip to the coast last summer, and I miss that toy dearly. I'm on a very small fence about seeking the Legacy one, but maybe I'll wait for another chance at the previous, he was just more fun...
Who the heck is Tread-Cycle? The Legacy one is not a bad figure, if you lost your PotP one, it's only a very small step down, but it should be a big step up which it's not.
@@PerspectiveEnd That's just what I called the little Brawn from Titans Return, the one who was just a head. The tread-cycle is his mini-vehicle/weapon for big bots.
It's been a thing with my channel for the longest time, though I don't do it often because I'm not usually catching errors in the filming process like this. Weird there were so many errors with this one now.
Anyone else still kinda want a mini bot combiner? Idk why but them doing that (and somehow not screwing it up as per usual) but it would be hilarious if it was the shortest combiner of all time, looking like a bit taller leader

My buddy told me they have both of these guys at WalMart this morning, so let's hope that both of them (But ESPECIALLY Beachcomber bc I love that lil fucker), because I will 100% cop both of these guys as little birthday gifts to myself.
Might get Beachcomber cuz it looks like a ton of fun, but right now im more focused on SS Battletrap and Rhinox. Brawn just looks uninteresting, and the BB figure looks better in every way.
1:12 i felt the exact same way about this. The regular carbots are great but the minibots are so cute and unique they just complete the team IMO. The minibots add something to my collection that I haven't had and idk how to describe the feeling of satisfaction getting these two were. Can't wait for gears and the inevitable others
I have the Legacy Beachcomber and while I do think the POTP Beachcomber is better, I still like it. What I don’t like is how the Parakeet is made out of a rubber plastic, it feels like i’m going to tear it apart by mistake when unpegging it from the figure. As for the 86 Brawn, I don’t have him yet but I do plan on getting him at some point!!!
The Deluxe minibots: Earth mode Cliffjumper and Bumblebee: no. Warpath: Sublime. Though the poseability is a bit snuffed, this figure takes Warpath to new heights. G1 cartoon Warpath is damn hard to design. The fact that they got this close with Deluxe budget and still have an excellent transformation is amazing. Space Bumblebee: This isn't just the best Bumblebee. This is one of the best figures ever made. Period. One of the best in literally everything but having a wrist swivel. Huffer and Pipes: these could've been Micromasters and I'm not kidding. Ultra simple, but ultimately really good for the characters that they are. Beachcomber: Copied a Legends scale literally almost 1:1. Why? Brawn: Excellent. He doesn't exceed expectations but he's really good. It's exactly what I expected. Is it OK for Beachcomber to be the exact same size as Bumblebee? Is 23 bucks a good price for Legacy Elita?
The Warpath is definitely the best he's officially ever been for sure. I don't know if I'd go THAT far with Space Bumblebee, but he is Excellent None the less. They really could have. Could have been so much better. I expected a little worse from Brawn so I'm pleasantly surprised. 23 Dollars is typical price. It's not a figure that I'm in love with but it's not bad.
I absolutely love 86 brawn, The transformation is genius, especially the legs I don't really have a connection to brawn but something about he's ridiculous hair cut just resonated with me to the point I just bought the 86 version and let me tell you, I don't regret buying the turtle man thank you for this review!
Beachcomber and 86 brawn are really great mini bots in my opinion, because in all honesty I don’t remember the last time we ever got anything like this, when I first saw 86 brawn I though he would be ok and I was gonna pass on getting him, but I got him and he’s considered to be one of my favorite 86 figures of all time along side with 86 grimlock and 86 jazz, as for beachcomber he’s pretty good, I really enjoy on having him and his accessories are pretty cool, his gun I like and his bird yes I do have is pretty good, as for brawn’s accessories it’s pretty good to, and honestly 86 brawn’s transformation is really fun and it feels good, beachcomber even though his transformation is hard, it’s pretty decent, so overall I’m really happy on not only me on getting them, but for you on getting them, so I would consider them mini masterpieces, no pun intended, there great figures to just have.
It’s funny how I was messing with my g1 beachcomber last night and then I wake up to see you made a video on him (as well as brawn cause I have the g1 outback)
I picked up Brawn and I think hes pretty great im not a g1 fan but I thought the transformation looked really fun so I grabbed him, happy I did. I understand what you're talking about with the final step of the transformation I found if you apply pressure straight to the tabs in his torso where the legs attach instead of the front of the car it goes in a lot easier at least on my copy
Yo, I have that same legacy Beachcomber figure, as much as I do like him I'm also glad someone pointed out how awkward one step of his transformation steps were. That tabbing part at 9:03 to 9:07 was hella fustrating
First cliffjumper bumblebee warpath huffer and pipes Now cosmos brawn beachcomber and soon gears. Its definitely been some good years for mini bots Lets hope others like tailgate powerglide and seaspray get some love too
@@PerspectiveEndyeah true Hopefully if they ever make the other mini bots or mini cons let's just hope they turn out good And if they're going with MTMTI tailgate I hope they don't make some horrible take on it but I doubt they would. Though since they made tarn into the legacy line i bet it could happen
@@PerspectiveEndBrawn’s backpack had to fold up higher. That way it’d only sit on the back, and fix the headplate. Beachcomber is almost perfect but the back of the vehicle looks awful.
Fantastic review PerspectiveEnd!! I agree that SS86 Brawn is the greatest Brawn figure ever made, and that PotP Beachcomber is just as great, if not greater than Legacy Beachcomber. lol Keep on being amazing.
Hmm I got both of em this week myself and I actually think I like Beachcomber more than Brawn. A bit sad considering I was lookin forward to gettin the latter more than the former. Maybe it’s just my copy but my Brawn just feels loose from the knees down and his big backpack and lack of heels means he falls on his ass a lot. Beachcomber on the other hand feels a lot more solid and dare I say, brawnier. He just feels more substantial, especially with the rubber tires. I do agree about the tabs on his arms bein a bitch to get in for the alt mode tho. Shame you didn’t get the parrot with yours cuz even tho he is tiny, he adds so much as a cute lil buddy.
I wasn't intending to pick up Brawn, but did the other day as he was reduced to around £15 in my local Smyths so I figured, why not? No complaints at all, but it would have been a fun gimmick to have a swappable G1 head/face. Brawn's G1 Comic face was basically just the slit from the front of K.I.T.T off of Knight Rider, and looked so different from anything else.
Also, BASED AS FUCK for your take on Winter Soldier, while I enjoy that movie it is not a masterpiece like everyone claims it to be, to me it's like a 6/10 💀
Update: I got him! And...man I didn't luck out with the play doh factor. The right tire (his right my left) refuses to peg into the front grill without trying to unplug the leg, and even then it's a pitifully weak connection. I dunno what to do. Everything else is great but I can't even finish the transformation.
@@PerspectiveEndAfter playing around with it since then I'm not too bugged by it. I can get it to peg in just not completely flush, but it still works. Solid. Looks like Brawn. Good figure. Maybe if I got some extra cash I'll get another and see if it doesn't have this issue, but I don't really think I want to. I did call Hasbro about it and they said they'll out a random deluxe which, if it's something I either already have or aren't interested in I could always sell. Or send to you to review. Who knows. Curious how Gears will work considering his face was completely flat and had no actual head, if he IS a retool.
86 brawn looks good hes one of my favorite mini bots. Beachcomber is amazing since he has rubber tires which is really cool. Great review Mr. End (Did you read my email for the shoutout?)

Ok so can hasbro do opaque plastic for windows permanently. Especially for cartoon designs
I was planning on pointing that out more and forgot to.
My Legacy Beachcomber has the absolute hardest time standing up with the vehicle kibble that stores under the foot
It’s funny how I was messing with my g1 beachcomber last night and then I wake up to see you made a video on him (as well as brawn cause I have the g1 outback)
Someone else had a very similar experience today.
I think mine might be a little worse on the tolerances than most. The right side specifically loves to pop out way more than the other.
A painful reminder of how good cliffjumper could’ve been
Yo, I have that same legacy Beachcomber figure, as much as I do like him I'm also glad someone pointed out how awkward one step of his transformation steps were. That tabbing part at 9:03 to 9:07 was hella fustrating
First cliffjumper bumblebee warpath huffer and pipes
Now cosmos brawn beachcomber and soon gears. Its definitely been some good years for mini bots
Lets hope others like tailgate powerglide and seaspray get some love too
I mean they've gotten figures, but I don't know that I'd call most of them good Figures.
@@PerspectiveEndyeah true
Hopefully if they ever make the other mini bots or mini cons let's just hope they turn out good
And if they're going with MTMTI tailgate I hope they don't make some horrible take on it but I doubt they would.
Though since they made tarn into the legacy line i bet it could happen
The no paint on Rufus’s rear window irks me. I know it’s dumb to expect them doing it but it just looks incomplete at the back.
I was on the fences of the new Beachcomber, good thing I kept my POTP figure.
They are the same thing, with one having a worse transformation.
The first time I encountered a leg transformation like Brawn's, and by extension Kup, was in Animated Ultra Magnus. That was a genius design.
Let’s get this man his bird insert prettty bird scene from dumb and dumber
Oh no! Peety!
I never got the POTP beachcomber so I’m definitely excited for this! I love the deluxe scale minibots. Just need to find me a damn cosmos 😂
No one can get a Cosmos. NO ONE!!!
I’m watching this after the matpat retirement video because I needed comedy after that
I feel like this one isn't as funny as many of my others. I'm sorry to have failed you.
@@PerspectiveEnd no I love all of your videos even the og earthrise one
I really expected better from Beachcomber and Brawn, especially given their smaller scale
Do you have them? Cause I really like the brawn.
@@PerspectiveEndBrawn’s backpack had to fold up higher. That way it’d only sit on the back, and fix the headplate. Beachcomber is almost perfect but the back of the vehicle looks awful.
Finally I’ve been waiting for so long
For beachcomber and brawn
It says everywhere it’s in stock (not pre order) and then they took like a month and a half to come
Waiting for what?
Just got 86 Brawn last week. In my opinion, it’s ok. Not the best thing ever, but ok. Good but not good enough.
It's not amazing or anything, but it's pretty fun, and it looks great.
@@PerspectiveEnd I agree.
Im glad im not the only who accidently lost birb because i accidently knocked it off my table and lost it... forever
I never got the bird as well. I was so careful not to lose it and it never came in the box
A cruel fate we have suffered.
Congrats on 14k subs!
I am a Beachcomber fan. Got both figures. I love them both. The Legacy one is chef’s kiss.
I also love the Brawn.
I feel like he's beginning to care about paint...
7:17 explain the winter soldier hate please
That's funny, I didn't get the bird either. So Hasbro pulse sent me a whole new Beachcomber, instead of just the bird
Really? Same thing happened to me with Kingdom Rodimus, and BBTS also sent me a whole second figure.
Congratulations on 14k!
Also, BASED AS FUCK for your take on Winter Soldier, while I enjoy that movie it is not a masterpiece like everyone claims it to be, to me it's like a 6/10 💀
That movie is drowning in problems, like the fact that it forgot what it's own plot was half way through.
Brawn aka Rufus is my favorite minibot
Update: I got him! And...man I didn't luck out with the play doh factor. The right tire (his right my left) refuses to peg into the front grill without trying to unplug the leg, and even then it's a pitifully weak connection. I dunno what to do. Everything else is great but I can't even finish the transformation.
I find that you just gotta squeeze that part specifically like no tomorrow, and eventually it will fit.
I always thought brawn's head was meant to look like the juggernaut. Idk if I'm crazy, but his transformation reminds me of hound
Brawn its the only one capable of pulling that golen hair do.
You could use lego animal figures to fill the role of beachcomber's animal friends.
I think the legacy beachcomber looks great. Like so filled in a hollowless
Filled in a hollowless?
Its supposed to say its so filled in and hollowless (Without hollow)@@PerspectiveEnd
Awesome review
I still prefer Bumblebee movie Brawn. I swear I played with that toy more than most of the toys in my collection.
Also, if Beachcomber isn't retooled into Ruckus, I will swing into Hasbro's home office and unleash hot lead hell upon them.
Wouldn't that basically just be a different paint job, not a retooling?
@@PerspectiveEndHe's gonna need a new head, chest, the back cannons. Otherwise, yeah, just slap a new color scheme on him.
Yeah I forgot I even got Beachcomber, it's so much like the POTP figure I just sorta swapped them out on the shelf and forgot about it.
I prefer the Legacy Beachcomber to the POTP one because it scales better and isnt weirdly swole. Also bird.
No one said there weren't bad Marvel movies before Endgame.
Also Age of Ultron is good. Fight Me
I'm coming for you for the Winter Soldier slander.
86 brawn looks good hes one of my favorite mini bots. Beachcomber is amazing since he has rubber tires which is really cool. Great review Mr. End
(Did you read my email for the shoutout?)
I have not read the Email yet, I tend to only look at that once a month just before doing them, but I will do yours for sure. You sent all the needed info right?
I'm glad you liked the Rubber Tires so much.
@@PerspectiveEnd Yes I sent the needed information. The rubber tires are a welcome surprise I just hope they don't become unique to beachcomber
