Just got this one today and it's an awesome figure I'm trying to get all the original 1st season characters and brawn was a major one.Some of the joints are super tight, I thought I was gonna snap the hands off trying to break them free and fold them down the first time.
This was my final figure of 2023 and I'd say it's a good one to end on, it's really full of character! And I got it 50% off, so for once I don't mind how small he is for a deluxe :P
I hope they retool this into Outback in whatever the third & final part of Legacy is. Or then again, I may just hunt down the Titans Return Brawn to match up with the Power of the Primes Outback I already have. Unless there's some sorta preliminary art that shows Brawn gettin' hit somewhere else, I don't see how they can make a Dead Brawn, since it'd mean retooling the shoulder and a huge chunk of his back...which is probably where the transformation hinge is on the toy.
While I am not a fan of the character design, this looks like a really fine figure. My only question is: why did they do the chest panel in green plastic and then tinted it orange? Wouldn't it be easier to just mold it in orange plastic? It would prevent any issue of chipping especially when the plastic underneath is in a color that contrasts so much with the paint.
@@baltmatrix I probably don't know enough about the process but it seems like it would logically be cheaper to make it in different colors than just make one color and then paint it. Like make 2 runs: one with green and one with orange. Then you do an assembly line and take parts from each run.
@@davidm4566 We've seen this before. Apparently, it's cheaper to pain an entire piece a different color than to have an extra underused color. Doesn't make much sense to me either, but that's what I've understood.
@@baltmatrix Couldn't it also be that they wanted the colors to match with the underside of the green hood that is behind Brawn's head? One of the biggest complaints have been colors not matching in the past, and I can't see them being able to match a yellow-orange plastic and a yellow-orange paint very well.
The front wheel has to tab to the insert with the yellow tab on the inside. So in fact it's two tabs to keep it secure and not loose. Hope this helps. Mines is nice and tight.
actually spotted "dead" Ironhide and Prowl at my local target earlier today. Almost completely no Transformers toys on shelf but they had that 2 pack and a Toxitron. I passed on both and have been regretting it all day. Well not picking up Toxitron that is.

I like that when you split apart the legs, they wind up looking like the original Brawn's legs. 😆

My guess is due to budget. They have limited mold space with each figure, so they did it all in green and painted orange/yellow instead.

Probably will be an upgrade kit to fill in that chest cavity. Since it's not used to store any of the robot kibble in vehicle mode.
There is a buzzworthy 2 pack ss86 already revealed for next year and its obvious it will be dead brawn and ratchet
