Before the War for Cybertron, there was a golden age of peace. Before he was the leader of the Autobots, he was a dock worker name Orion Pax. Heavily injured by Megatron during the Decepticon takeover, he was brought to Alpha Trion, by a group of future flying Autobots that was trapped in the past. Sensing a strong spirit within the young Orion Pax's spark, Alpha Trion rebuild him into the first of Cybertron's new defenders... Optimus Prime.
-Got the "A Hero Is Born" box set, I've seen what's inside. Orion Pax and Alpha Trion looks cool. Vector Sigma and it's key are cool. Will keep in collector storage, as it's an interesting piece of Optimus Prime's history. And the box art itself is great. Makes me wish we got a display backdrop of Alpha Trion's repair shop.
We can Rebuild him, We ARE the Technology.
I wish I'd mentioned the box more.
Great
I only knew about the POTP Orion like a year or two ago and when I first saw it, I was blown away by the figure. Their Prime almost looked like an MP figure. Like MP 10 with better proportions. It also has a cool gimmick even though I think the alt-mode looks like crap.
I'd love to see a review of the POTP if you ever have the time. Don't make this a priority or anything.
100%, that was my reaction when I first got it. I hoped it would be like 50% as good as the MP 10, but it wound up being like 80% as good. It poses almost exactly as well, and it's way cooler looking. Plus it's just more fun.
Back then I wanted to start a Channel and tell people to get it as a Budget MP, before Micro Masterpiece was floating around.
Didn't I just do that thought?
@@PerspectiveEnd potp Optimus has one big kibble on his back. I'm not sure how anyone can call it good.
@@mechgouki7999 my issue for Optimus kibble wasn't the back, like I could live with that. But the fucking arms holding parts of the trailer killed it for me that I just sold it, I did enjoy everything else it gave to me though but I'd rather wise I got nemesis prime bc the kibble is less noticeable, it's what also killed my wants to get siege Optimus even if it makes for a arm gun
old man does mysterious things to construction worker
You make it sound like a Dirty film.
I can see why they made Orion a Kup retool. It's so you can recreate the scene where he gets killed by ripping him to pieces!
I mean it's more that he gets a Giant Hole through his chest. But Potatoe, Dismembero.
It's more like they made him a Kup retool because the original G1 toy was a Kup repaint - inexplicably the Targetmaster Kup version, but a Kup repaint nonetheless. Could be worse: they could've done Dion as a repaint of Titans Return or SS86 Wheelie instead of another Kup retool (because the G1 Dion was inexplicably a repaint of Wheelie).
fun fact: a shipment of HasLab Star Sabers were heavily damaged during delivery, and the backers of those were given this 2-pack (and a refund) as a replacement
Well that's at least something. Unfortunate though.
I'll just leave Orion on alt mode and never transform him ever again. A RED figure but the other way around.
I mean I feel like that's really it's worst mode cause it's not like anything. Just an Ugly version of the mode I keep the 86 Kup in.
Odd
RED but for alt modes is honestly not a bad idea
@@CrummTheDumm I have so many thoughts about that but ultimately, I’d buy some
@@CrummTheDumm I remember hot wheels did something like that for the movies...or it could have been another company, but it was the hot-wheel sized die-cast cars. It does give some precedence and cross-compatability with other toys.
And there it is, my entire day made whole after hearing the term "tiny mouse people prayers". (Seriously though Hasbro, a little care in the QC department couldn't hurt.) I personally still like the Thrilling 30 Orion Pax and Titans Return Alpha Trion, buuuut to be fair, those are both older figures with worse poseability and don't look like their G1 counterparts. I just enjoy the alternative aesthetic, but to each their own. 👌
Yeah the TR one definitely has a Vibe.
And I'm happy to hear that, I wracked my brain to come up with a new "It was held on by X thing that won't hold" and I was VERY proud of the result.
@@PerspectiveEnd Definitely keep that one holstered, cap'n. 😆👍
god i love the colors on those, even if everything else sucks the paintjob is beautiful imo
That aspect is quite well handled.

"You were the chosen one! It was said that you would destroy the decepticons not join them!"
I expected that to be linking me to when he got shot. When I saw what it actually went to I got a good laugh.
Mold degradation: the box set
That is definitely a good title for this video. I may steal that later in the day.
The jokes in this video were so on point I didn’t expect to laugh at a Peter Griffin falling and getting hurt joke but I did and the anarchist shin was so funny
Shinarchy
I'm glad that people really enjoyed the little skits I did in this one, I've been feeling more inspired of late, probably because of the reduced schedule giving me some extra time to think and work.
I bet someone already made this joke when I type it: the QC is so bad that it caused Orion Pax to need to become Siege Optimus Prime.
No one's made that joke, but why is it Siege Optimus Prime?
@@PerspectiveEnd as Siege prime is a cybertronian mode of G1 prime form the same era.
Prefer potp orion pax but this one's also quite good, alpha trion is pretty amazing too imo. Thanks for the review perspectiveend!
You are welcome, and I prefer the PotP as well.
2:18 What kind of damage did Megatron do to him this time? Pulled a Bay Prime on him?
Like he Pulled a "What Megatron did to him in RotF" or he pulled a "What Optimus does to everyone else in Bayverse"?
@@PerspectiveEnd Probably the second option
huh, I was not expecting to care about power of the primes orion pax today but sure, also congrats on 11.1k, the 1st time I subscribed you were just in 100 so yeah good on you man
You have been around so long man, I'm happy to have kept you interested. But what do you mean the First time?
@@PerspectiveEnd tbh I kinda unsubbed for a while, was have account issues, but I can back
Thank you for defending the Prime Wars trilogy figures, I actually quite enjoy the vast majority of what those lines had to offer. Even Combiner Wars’ retool palooza was a fun little game of “what can we use this for”
My favorite Orion figure is the IDW style T30 figure. It got me back into collecting after a slump and while not cartoon accurate since it’s not trying to be, it’s a really great design for a proto Optimus and poses up there with today’s contender
Yeah, CW was easily the worst, and it had some merit. Some of those figures were really cool. And PotP had more Bangers than Failures, though it it did have some BIG failures. Looking at you Starscream.
Lot of people really like that T30 Figure. It's funny how specific figures can be keys to getting back into the fandom.
This is a great review, very fun and informative!
I'm happy to hear it. I feel like the 2 videos a week Schedule is really improving the videos.
I love how he was just reviewing this set but then pulled the power of the primes Orion pax into the review as well during the articulation section
It showed up earlier than that. But yes, I thought it would be funny to do that.
Feel ya there on POTP. Sure, there were duds like Starscream and the entirety of the Dinobots, but that didn’t mean we couldn’t have winners like Beachcomber, the Terrorcons, Orion/Optimus, Hot Rod/Rodimus (better than SS86 and Kingdom; fight me), and the Dreadwind/Darkwing duo.
You forgot Battletrap, which I thought was the way of the future for Legends, but they never really went any where with.
For anyone wanting to have fun with the set without worry of QC if a joint is too loose use something like super glue on the joint and constantly move it to prevent it from getting stuck in olace therefore tightening the joint or connection and if too tight just slughtly lube that area carefully until you get the desired strength
I learned from our lord and savior JobbyTheHong himself
Actually you don't want to use Super Glue, some times that will work, but there are 2 problems with it. It can be too strong, or worse, Super Glue Bonds with some types of plastic which leaches out some of the molecular structure of the plastic, leading it to turn Brittle.
Stuff like Kiki's joint tightener which Jobby also uses is far less risky on your joints.
It was weird when I got these two. while nothing falls off that's not supposed to, they do have some shit tolerances. One arm on Pax is so tight that unpegs the transformation joint at the shoulder while the other is so lose it feels like a small breeze could move it. Alpha Trion isn't as bad, but out of the box one of his shoulders had come undone and when I pressed it into place it would just pop right out again like the tabs were squishing together rather than hooking onto each other. Took a lot of force followed by some precise movement and even putting a rubber band on him for a while before it found a comfortable place to sit, even being able to move the arm without unpegging it but now I don't want to transform him for fear I can't get him back into a bot with a shoulder hanging off.
Yeah that's the crazy thing about the QC, it's not consistent at all. Like it's bad, but people don't have the same badness.
I always love when you upload
FREE ENGAGEMENT WOOOOH!!!
I always feel Alpha Trion looks like he's watching a 3D film in the 50s.
You aren't wrong, that's exactly what I was thinking while making this.
I think that the conceptions of the Prime Wars stuff being "low effort" comes, at least imho, from the deluxes not looking the best and voyagers just feeling "stretched up" (sure, they were big, but more hollow). And when WFC and it's attempts at 'accuracy above most stuff' came, people got blinded a bit by it and were more forgiving to the worse stuff (all the discourse around Earthrise, basically).
I just remember walking past the stuff from that era (whatever got to my country), seeing figures like Jazz, and thinking "is this where we're at?" Then, Siege got my interest with Starscream and the rest is history.
Well I mean obviously some of the figures were Pretty Stinky, like Jazz, and Starscream, but there were a lot of Bangers in there. And I don't think Hungeerr felt hollow.
I have the PoTP Nemesis Prime.
GOD THE MOULD LOOKS SO AMAZING IN THAT DECO
I got both, and yeah, the retooling they did on the nemesis version is SUPER cool.
I think Beast Era fans could be happy with Vector Sigma, because of how the Oracle is basically an evolved version of Vector Sigma.
Hey I like it, so you might have a point.
Mine 86 Kup has the exact same problem with his right shoulder specifically. Over the time i just started to untab it after i swivel his arm for transformation, that way it doesn't come off
The arm has popped off my kup at the shoulder before, but it's not as easy to do as the Pax.
Remember?
I feel you gotten more animated. Dig it
Of Course.
And thank you, it's the new Scheadule. I've got time to do Skits, and Rescripts because I'm not so strapped.
I didn’t know this was out yet.
I didn't really realize either.
I'm glad the only issues I got with my copy of this set was slightly splotchy paint on Alpha Trion's abdomen and Orion Pax's backpack never fully pegging in somehow. Whats really weird to me is the fact Orion Pax is color-matched to the cel shaded walmart exclusive siege Optimus so he looks weird next to literally any other release of Prime as an evolution.
EDIT: When talking about alpha trion options other than this there's also the botcon exclusive alpha trion, yet ANOTHER convention exclusive alpha trion (yes this set that included a character people wanted a proper figure of their g1 appearance for an affordable price for YEARS was intended as a one time only convention exclusive but it didn't immediately sell out like other ones did surprisingly.)
Man I got that version of Optimus, and gave it away because the colors were so ugly.
Yeah, I guess there are a few more Trions than I implied, but they are all like Limited Run Special editions.
@@PerspectiveEnd Ironically that version of Siege Optimus is my favorite variant color wise as insane as it is, probably mildly influenced by the fact it came out around the same time as the 500 dollar nightmare MP Optimus and achieves what thats going for at a fraction of the price, albeit with an inaccurate vehicle mode and a slab of red meat hanging from it's back and arms in robot mode. $30 vs $500 is such a massive price gap for figures made by the same company going for the exact same aesthetic.
You know what's really weird about siege prime? They clearly meant to retool the top of it at some point for Earthrise, I've seen mods that remove the cybertron-ish bits from it and it'd only require some extremely mild retooling to have a normal g1 optimus. I can never bring myself to carve up the backpack though. The fact they didn't retool it for that specifically g1 animation homage is still wild to me a few years after the fact. That and the fact there were TWO VARIANTS of the thing out there somehow and I never once saw the slightly better looking "white faceplate variant" before the unannounced running change in my region due to distribution being a complete joke.
I kinda wonder if the cel shaded siege Optimus ended up the way it did with no slight mold changes and that weird unnecessary running change to try and goad people into just paying for the more expensive prime. A little conspiracy-theory-ish but it also wouldn't be the first time weird company stuff like that's happened.
I wasn’t expecting this to be a stealth review of the POTP Pax but neat! Trion is absolutely the reason I’d get this pack and obviously he’s the better figure. The Vector Sigma and Key of are pretty neat.
Yeah, I thought it was a funny little joke to sneak that in there.
For alpha Trion, the wing pieces need to carefully go on over the collar pieces at a weird angle to properly transform
You are correct, but I think you've probably seen that part by now.
My Qc is perfect. Tolerances are smooth and nothing falls off or unpegs without me trying to unpeg or pull it off. Must’ve used all my luck on the Qc.
I mean where have you been unlucky outside of that?
Yknow.. The more i look at Sentinel prime from Dark of the moon, the more I think that he was SUPPOSED to be Alpha trion and maybe Hasbro didnt have the trade mark for Alph trion at the time DOTM was in production and they KIND OF share character traits such as Optimus' old mentor back on cybertron. Either that or it's just a HUGE COINCEDENCE
Oh that's what I've been saying for ever. It's 100% Trion, and they changed his name because they just WERE NOT ALLOWED to have characters be named the characters they were.
ill never get this set cause i dont have any affection for either design or either toy mold but lmao the peter griffin joke nearly made me spit out my boba in laughter, I hope youre happy!
I am very happy. I was very proud of that moment. Glad it landed so hard for so many.
I found is funny at 2:16 you made Orion a quadriplegic as if that's how badly Megatron shot him. Alpha trion looks pretty well for a retool.
Oh PE I got a question I kept forgetting to ask this but since rise of the beast is coming will you buy some of ROTB toyline and SS?
Yes, I was planning on picking up the Rise of the Beasts and Studios Series Rise of the Beasts figures... Except for Airazor. Cause it's just Airazor again but uglier.
One of the reasons for Power of the Primes reputation is probably it genuinely being a worse line than what came before and after with Titans Return and Siege.
The other reason is probably the fact that so many figures in the line had shitty stickers instead of paint.
There are those two factors, and I will say that stuff like the Dinobots in it was an unfortunate disappointment. But it had one of the All Time Chug Optimus's in it, and it had Abominus, and a line that gave us those two things, can't be all bad.
My copy of Orion has a tiny paint chip on the back panel, revealing it was cast in blue. I don't know if that goes for all copies or not
It 99.999% likely means that all of them are actually cast in blue. So the light piping is just for the juice box.
Don’t know if you’ve noticed when shopping for other figures or ever knew of this figures existence, but I’m definitely curious to hear any thoughts you have on the master made version of devastator. Both sdt-08 and sdt-09 demolisher
I actually own that. I wanted to do a WTB Devastator a long time ago, and that was going to feature, but it just never wound up happening.
Sad to say it's crap. It's one of the cheapest feeling figures I've ever handled. It's made out of Trash Plastic. Stuff that should have been glued wasn't. Parts fall off all the time.
It's just Garbage, and it's absurdly expensive for what it is. Still better than the Toyworld one though.
Oh Endy, looks like we need to discuss the Old Caped Man & the Big Lipped Worker.
I'm surprised you haven't already had this talk.
I blame your parents.
... The Big Lipped Worker?
@@PerspectiveEnd Look at Pax's face, man. Could screw bolts in place with those well developed mouth sausages.
You are a weird man my friend, but you did give me a good laugh with that.
@@PerspectiveEnd I'm just saying, Overlord is envious of him. That's why he started giving himself botox injections when he thought nobody was watching.
I lucked out in QC I guess, I had 0 problems experienced here, like my Alpha Trion easily could be closed up flush in vehicle mode, the only thing my set shares is that the key to Vector Sigma is hard to remove if fully plugged in
Well I did figure out what was wrong with Trion. It's not making sure I close the wings after they clear the collar piece.
I have a feeling that when you eventually do the WTB optimus prime 2 it is gonna be even longer than the grimlock video
I mean I do plan to do that, but I also plan for it to not be as long as that. Grimlock is the Opus.
LMAO that i must be free is killing me 🤣🤣
I'm happy to hear that part really got you.
i got this for trion scourge was probably the best mold to reuse for him but the pax now makes me want to get an er prime repaint so i can display his transformation into optimus because seige and er used gray instead of white
Why would ER Prime make sense as Pax?
@@PerspectiveEnd because funny enough in the episode pax appeared in the g1 on cartoon they didn't draw him in his cybertronion form (if he had one in the first place i only remember seeing bumblebee and wheeljack with alien ult modes) they drew him in his earth form.
Why!!!??? The qc ,plastic, and the joints suck on Pax!!!
Indeed they do. Trion is better, but I've even had commenters today, saying I got lucky with Pax having it only be as bad as it is.
Hehe "digivolving" Orion
No one can come up with a better term for what's happening there.
Isn't the potp one getting a re release soon? Could be a smart idea to do a more in depth review close to its release although the focus on orion pax In this video was very appreciated as he seems to get glossed over by alot of people, makes me wanna go home and mess with kup, if only I wasn't at work right now😂
I hadn’t heard that… is it true. Id love to snag a copy.
I think that might be star convoy
I don't think he's getting rereleased soon. I think you might have heard of the Evolution Optimus Prime coming out soon, but they don't mean THIS Evolution Optimus, they mean Legacy Evolution.
@@PerspectiveEnd I did a quick Google and he is definitely getting a re release but apparently only in the Asian Market unfortunately
Interesting, I will have to look into if there's a way to bring those to other countries so people in the community can get some if they want.
On mine the pegs on orions legs have no friction the only thing keeping them on is gravity. If I pick him up they fall off it's Impossible to keep them on. Not even the super glue trick works bc there's not enough room in the hole to fix the friction.
However kups legs to fit on him just fine.
That's both Hilarious, and Depressing. On mine the legs are on there better than the Normal Kup ones, but still not as well as I would like.
Orion Pax double review! FT. Alpha Trion who's sometimes in it.
Yer damn rihgt!
Ah yes vector sigma, a things that despite serving the same purpose as the allspark rarely gets used for some reason
Yeah it is a bit weird.
@@PerspectiveEndyou’d think the idea that there is a object that can turn organic matter into cybernetic would be used more often in this franchise
I got the set a while ago - mine doesn’t have QC issues for the most part, but I found myself really just hating the Orion Pax. I don’t like Kup’s mold and Pax made it look so much worse. I really like Alpha Trion though and now he’s basically joining my Thirteen Shelf as the new Trion. He looks awesome.
Also I still theorize that Vector Sigma is literally a core that contains The Omega Lock and the Planet Keys (The Keys to Vector Sigma and Plasma Energy Chamber are actually Cyber Planet Keys which just took those forms just like how they did on the colony worlds to hide away. Also it explains why Vector Sigma doesn’t exist in the UT continuity - The Transformers somehow had opened Vector Sigma up and found the Omega Lock and Keys. Since the Core of Vector Sigma has been long dispatched, it’s been offline ever since.)
Who was the Old Trion?
I mean that is some EXTREME Fanon for it to be holding the Omega Keys.
@@PerspectiveEnd TR Alpha Trion.
And no, The “Omega Keys” in Prime aren’t the same. (Prime really screwed up the entire concept of the Omega Lock and the Cyber Planet Keys). In Cybertron it’s actually noted that the Cyber Planet Keys actually have a lot of power on their own. It was even mentioned that they can modify Worlds and Transformers to their power. Something oddly enough that The Key of Vector Sigma also has - being able to turn organic material to metal. Also the Keys themselves have crazy amounts of power to the point of giving abilities or enhancing the capabilities of Transformers - and that power and shape changing (yes I know in G1 it’s an animation error but interestingly enough that being an ability that the Keys from Cybertron has makes it very interesting and makes a very interesting connection) but it makes sense that the Key could overpower a starship and throw it out into space. Also remembering that the Omega Lock is made to unlock Primus’ robot mode and power, it makes sense the Keys would be used to lock away or access various extreme powerful parts of Primus’ body (Cybertron).
Prime depicted a lot of things pretty badly, namely a lot of S2 and the concept of Unicron was done pretty bad IMO.
All this did was make me want the t-30 orion pax, even if it's not cartoon accurate, also I'm still not big on turning mono-formers into repaints like alpha Trion and nightbird (to be fair, nightbird isnt even a transformer)
This is what the RED line could have been good for, but no, it just keeps sucking away in the corner.
As someone who owns the original SS86 Kup I can confirm that red painted section of Orion's backpack IS clear plastic.
Also thank you for reaffirming my need to NOT get this two pack since I already don't like the SS86 Scourge and Kup moulds as it is, mainly cause I've owned them for like 2 years now so I'm LONG past the honeymoon phase and I can see them for what they really are. Funny thing though, for the first year I owned Kup I didn't know his legs and arms could pop off.
Someone else just told me that it was actually BLUE plastic on this new figure?
Man you are lucky, cause mine do the popping all the time. And yeah, it's just not a very fun figure.
“Bad heel brigade” lol that’s great
Yeah, they all wanted to fall over in this video.
There was a Cyberverse Alpha Trion too, who almost transformed (more like he lies down and flips the knees over) into a spaceship like Cad Bane's from the Star Wars 3d animated TV series only as a capital ship rather than a fighter. He is SUPER SWOLE GAINS GRANDPA in that one, but has, like, 90 degree elbows and 20-30 of shoulder-out shrug action only, and some kind of spring loaded gimmick on the out-rigger guns that I have somehow completely repressed the details of. Static display only, basically, not a toy you fiddle with for fun, but you can legitimately believe this guy was second in command of kicking the Quintesson's levitation-beam-spewing slaver butts off Cybertron with Beta, and/or one of thirteen living gods (THE MACHINE GOD OF GYM MACHINES HAS BLESSED YOUR TOY SHELF!) and/or would have tied that Unicron pansy in a knot if he hadn't had to sacrifice himself half a season before so the Aerialbots could exist and pull Optimus and friends' skidplates out of the smelter. Great job there, team :P
I said on Emgo's review of it that I had completely forgotten, " He's got great articulation, for his age. He's a first generation Autobot, after all! Seriously, in G1 this guy would have been half or 3/4 the size and both elbows and knees AND hip rotation would have made him one of the more mobile figures." Also true, when you look at it in that context, and I'll definitely keep the BBCA version so he can go super-sayajin and take the Unicron on the left while TF:Cybertron Primus takes the Unicron on the right :D (I'mm'a call it like I see it, roight, and the BBCA version is all 'roided up, with longer and spikier beard and crest, angry eyebrows, and a super slabtastic ship mode with four slag-off-huge cannons. so I know just what I'm a-seein' there.)
Yeah, I've seen that thing, it's weird for the character but kind of cool in it's own way. It's just too bad the toy line was so lame and that the figures were never good till wait too late.
BBCA?
@@PerspectiveEnd BumbleBee Cyberverse Adventures, to differentiate from the bayformer Cyberverse subline, even if the "Bumblebee" was only tacked onto the ttitle later like Legacy and Legacy Evo. There's so many damn TF lines and sublines and so on after nigh on forty years that it takes a three or four letter acronym to specify without typing the whole thing out.
I got them for a flat 50 bucks from a local store which considering how much modern deluxes and voyagers cost I’d say it was a steal
Yeah, if you can get it for that price, it's totally Werf.
Got this and gave the pax to my brother who liked the figure and now I'm awaiting for the thrilling 30 pax
That's one way to make good use of this set.
Y'know what? Yeah, I'm rather nostalgic for the Power of the Primes line, especially as a direct sequel to one of my favorite lines Titans Return. In fact those Prime Masters were easily my favorite part, how now you got these little power armors that any Titan Master can fit into, adding greatly to the miniature playset vib of the TR line. It was like, on top of having a G.I.Joe vehicle and figures to go with it, now you had this cool mech armor adding further play value to your previous playset, and then that mech can turn into a gun to mount on your vehicle. Yes I'm basically saying Titans Return was all the fun and appeal of G.I.Joe in more affordable mini form XD
But I digress. The little combiner fists that all PotP deluxes came with were a huge step up from Combiner Wars, while I appreciate being able to serve as both hands and feat the CW ones were not all that great as feet. Abominus is easily my favorite combiner of that toyline trilogy. Volcanicus wasn't all that great but hey I now have the five classic G1 Dinobots with a little extra play value. And I don't care what anyone says, PotP Optimal Optimus was a dream come true for someone who never got to even hold that original Beast Wars beefcake XD
I never really thought of the Prime Armors like that.
Interesting. When I finally got my first CW hand Foot Gun, I was actually blown away by how much more I liked it than the PotP version because the Thumb felt way more useful.
Outstanding review PerspectiveEnd!!! I agree the PotP version of Orion Pax is the best version, at least in robot mode. lol This is the best version of Alpha Trion ever made, despite its flaws. The closest figure prior to this one that tries to look like G1 Alpha Trion is the Cyberverse Alpha Trion figure. Vector Sigma is a great inclusion to this Hascon exclusive set. Keep on being amazing.
There was the TR one which looked about right. Bit more Regal.
@@PerspectiveEnd I have that figure, I placed TR Optimus Prime's head on it and have been using it as Titans Return Leo Prime. ha ha
My Warpath's legs are also inconsistent like the Alpha Trion. Both copies.
The right legs man. When they go forward they're comfortably tight. When they go backward they feel loose.
Broke the first one cause I glued the arms with cyanoacrylate glue.
The same thing I used to fix one of Triggerhappy's wingtips.
I bought TR Blitzwing, and I love it so much. Robot mode's the weakest mode by far. The tank mode is an awesome and rad cyber tank and the jet mode is just great. Looks a bit cyber stylized but it's a very realistic looking plane.
Is 23 bucks a good price for 86 Hot Rod?
Is 30 bucks a good price for Legacy IDW Blurr? He's pretty hard to find now.
You Broke your Warpath? Man I'm so sorry to hear that. Why'd you try gluing him?
And the Transformations on that are super fun too. And yeah the Robot mode is a little weak, but it's not a bad one, just the weakest of his modes.
And 23 is about normal deluxe price. It's a fun figure, though mines really loose in the everything, got a good transformation. I don't think you will be unhappy with the purchase of a Hoatrod for that pirce.
I will say that no 30 bucks is a little expensive. You might still enjoy that one, but it's not something you NEED, not for that price at least.
@@PerspectiveEnd the Hot Rod I meant was the 86 one, not the TR.
Oh yeah, then 23 is great for that thing.
Question: when you make a better Kingdom, will you do a legacy show pitch?
I hadn't really considered doing a Legacy pitch. But not it's at least on my mind.
Well if it shelf warms long enough and finds its way to clearance I think I'll pick it up. I'm not going to feel like I missed out though if I don't get this.
It’s online only
@@noelvanbrocklin6748 glad I don't have local shops that buy online only items... But good to know where I would want to keep an eye out.
On clearance it would be good. I'm also hearing they are showing up places like Gamestop.
These figures were probably designed by someone who cares, but Hasbro didn't so they didn't put in any effort in quality.
Anyway, I got a question. I remember seeing a video about how you think Dinobot and Rattrap aren't a good ship. If you don't mind me asking, what beast wars ships do you do like, and others you don't on a 1 - 10 (never ship them to gold standard relationship) and give a little insight.
I give a list since there's not THAT many characters
Airazor x Tigatron
Silverbolt x Blackarachnia
Cheetor x Blackarachnia
Optimus x Megatron
Optimus x Rhinox
Skold x Razorbeast
Dinobot x Megatron
Megatron x inferno
Botanica x Rattrap
Transmutate x Rampage
Nyx x Cheetor
Depthcharge x Rampage
Dinobot x Nyx
That's all the ships that I've seen, if you have more that you seen, do tell

7 But I don't know that I'd qualify it as a ship, more just kindred spirits.
1
3 Eh. I don't hate this one, but I don't know that the two wide eyed characters NEED to be the pair.
1 They hate each other, nothing loving about it.
6 It's a decent one, though feels unnecessary.
Not a huge fan of Ships.
@@PerspectiveEnd understandable
Honestly, I really wanna get these, since there aren’t many figures out there of Orion and Alpha Trion. And also because they scale really well, and I’m a major scale nut.
I get that, me, I like Scale but it's not make or break for me.
Also I think the “Evolution” Super mode combine gimmick was the best idea that POTP had. Then again I’m a huge sucker for that gimmick in general so obviously I’d like it
When you said Evolution, I thought you were talking about the Legacy figure so I was confused for a minute.
@@PerspectiveEnd lol
Is it wrong for me to say I like the Thrilling 30 Orion Pax alot more than the Legacy one?
I mean I know he's suppose to look "G1 accurate" but he looked alittle too much like Kup imo lol.
The T30 version is supposed to look like the Early IDW Comic version.
The left eye on my Orion pax isn’t properly painted so it’s like the transformers equivalent to having a lazy eye
Ouch. That sucks. Sorry. Is it generally better on the QC outside of that or the same.
Great Stuff.
Thank you!

The clock's run out, time's up, over, blaow!
Snap back to reality
Oh, there goes gravity
Oh, there goes Rabbit, he choked
He's so mad, but he won't give up that easy, no
He won't have it, he knows his whole back's to these ropes
It don't matter, he's dope
He knows that but he's broke
He's so stagnant, he knows when he goes back to his mobile home, that's when it's
Back to the lab again, yo
This whole rhapsody
He better go capture this moment and hope it don't pass him
You better lose yourself in the music, the moment

I was playing in the beginning, the mood all changed
I've been chewed up and spit out and booed off stage

Best believe somebody's paying the pied piper
All the pain inside amplified by the fact
That I can't get by with my 9-to-5

'Cause man, these goddamn food stamps don't buy diapers
And it's no movie, there's no Mekhi Phifer, this is my life
And these times are so hard, and it's getting even harder
Trying to feed and water my seed, plus
Teeter totter caught up between being a father and a prima donna
Baby mama drama's screaming on and

You can do anything you set your mind to, man
Did this mans really just Moms Spaghetti me?
I always hated Orion Pax’s design, how did this loser become quite possibly the most popular, loved and well know character in pop-culture
Well lets be clear as far as Audiences are concerned he started as Prime and that was just his backstory.
I mean how did Luke become a Jedi Master, it's part of his journey that he started as a dumb kid.
I own the PotP Optimus and I just got to say, it is my favorite figure
He's so much FUN isn't he! People Slept on that thing so hard.
Ngl, I have the shoulder joint popping out on my scourge copy
Like when it untransforms, or the joint is comming all the way off?
When I got my 86 sweep (yes that's literally what it's called) the gun was missing and the blast effect was gone too
Were they stolen or just forgotten?
@@PerspectiveEnd I think they were stolen because it was in the old 86 box with the plastic window so my guess is that they were stolen and they weren't in the box when I got it
I had picked up that Optimus Prime Origins pack back when it was still being sold and I can agree that the truck mode for the Orion Pax using Titians Return Kup is far better then this thing hell I even prefer the look of my Orion Pax to this sets one.
And boy howdy, is that transformation way more fun.
I got this a while ago, and I think it's pretty good. The Alpha Trion is a blast to look at, and using the Scourge mold for him was brilliant, though anticipated. It has its ups and downs, but getting a show-accurate Alpha Trion is more than worth it. The TR one was just kinda off to me.
The Orion Pax was pretty good too. I actually find myself liking this one more than the POTP one. The POTP one was still good, but part of me feels like it was hindered by the Prime Master gimmick. This one is hindered by his own gimmicks, and the paint does seem kinda off to me, but hey, it's a mainline Orion to scale with Siege. That's somethin' I consider noteworthy.
Plus Vector Sigma.
Overall, the set isn't as good as last year's Ravage set, but it's pretty good.
What Prime master Gimmick on the PotP?
Vector Sigma is a great get with this.
Yeah the Ravage Set was really cool.
@@PerspectiveEnd Sorry, I meant the "Evolution" gimmick. I mixed up the terminologies in my head because Evolution is a line now. My bad.
Can you eventually do a what's the best on starscream. I really just want to see what you think of the er screamer. I personally see it as an almost complete downgrade to the siege mold
I mean eventually, but I don't think I have enough Starscreams for that.
Random question: what is freturnacons?
The Fraternacons is the reaction show I used to do with my Brothers? What made you ask that here?
@@PerspectiveEnd I wondered if I would enjoy it
I bet the legacy wave 3 figures are like: “wave 3 is good, wave 3 is your friend. Please respect us!1!1!1”
I mean two of them seem to be.
I also own this set and... I agree with you 100%
Yeah, I wish you didn't have to.
Considering Alpha Trion doesn't transform once in the G1 cartoon, you'd think he would be perfect for the RED line. Then again, if I had to choose between RED and this, I'd take the latter in a heartbeat.
Overall, I'm personally not interested in this set. Though it's existence gives me hope that one day, we'll also get figures of Ariel and Dion.
Speaking of the latter, do you believe Dion became Ultra Magnus?
Edit: We got 'em! Ariel and Dion wooo!
I've never really put much stock in any of the Theories, but if not then who is it? That intentional red Herring Magnum?
And yeah the Red Line was exactly what this should have been used on.
Was tempted to get this but ultimate skipped it. Seems like I made the right choice based on the QC. I must’ve got real lucky with my dead end
Yeah, people are even telling me that I got lucky with Pax only being as bad as he is.
I'm still not sure if you got a bad copy of Kup or if I got a good copy of Kup, but mine doesn't fall apart.
I hear mine is relatively typical.
.... stupid idea, how cool would it be if they had an extra excesory but its hidden in vector sigma and the key opens it up to reveal the matrix of leadership?
I wouldn't call that a Stupid Idea at all. That would be really cool. Though not another Matrix Please!
@@PerspectiveEnd we need more cereal bowls of matrixes
I uh just got this and an idea popped into my head.
Alpha trion is the most pure hearted autobot and a powerful wizard
Tarn is the most evil decepticon and the most well, if u know tarn u know what he is capiable of
What im saying is i wanna see an alpha trion vs tarn fight
That would be cool, or at least I'd love to see them Argue.
It's probably more the hate for the accompanying show bleeding over with regards to PotP, honestly. Still find it funny that characters like Alpha Trion, who we never saw transform and in some canons predate cybertronians discovering the ability has never been considered for the RED line. Not sure if that's a mockable coincidence or a blessing, given RED.
It's incredible that they can't make ONE good decision with the RED line.
And you could be right the PotP show sucks, but so does the WFC, yet that hasn't tainted those figures.
6:19
That’s satisfying right there
It is yes. I was glad I could get it that centered on the table.
The right leg on my Orion pax is super tight in every direction and his backpack doesn't tab in either. Alpha trion however has no issues. Overall its a decent set minus pax with QC. Definitely not $66 worth though.
Yeah, but at least it sounds like your set is better than mine in terms of QC in general.
Have you seen the voyager version of mp 10 knock off
Heard Tale of it. Never seen it in person.
I don’t own one but watching reviews of it and finding out it also has a trailer for it is not that bad
oh my goooood.
Que Passa?
Dang, I had high hopes for this set
It's not awful, it's just the QC is bad, and it's uninspiring.
What happened to POTP primes smokestack?
What do you mean? They are there?
Oops. They transform, and I had one flipped down.
@@PerspectiveEnd oooh alright. I was unaware
By the way, I just got TM2 megatron. He is by far the best beast wars figure yet. (I say this as someone who was every mold, and every repaint except T-wrecks)
I'm happy everyone gets to enjoy that thing but me.
Oh gosh I want that Vector Sigma and Key.
Yeah the accessories are really the best part of the set.
@@PerspectiveEnd yeah. Tho I do like Alpha Trions toy, I mean the idea of it being the same as Scourge fits him.
Is it just me or does it look like Alpha Trion is wearing a Gundam’s helmet behind the mask
I totally feel you on that.
I still think the best Orion Pax figure is the thrilling 30 one, followed by the POTP one
Depends. the T30 is based on IDW, so if that's what you are looking for, then yes that is the best one.
@@PerspectiveEnd yeah, IDW and Prime’s versions of Orion Pax are my favorite version of Optimus before he became a Prime. And I also have nostalgia for it as it came out when I was in elementary school
I've got them both but I do sat the potp Orion pax is great in robot mode...alt mode is horrible but his digivolved optimus is also pretty good. I enjoy the alpha Trion set too and hey I got a vector sigma which is awesome. We are really getting allot of transformers lore ancient items of late the matrix, the all spark, vector sigma, the golden discs.. cool stuff indeed.
Yeah, you know I didn't really think of that till now, but there is a lot of lore Accessories coming out lately.
@@PerspectiveEnd just need enigma of combination (unless you're counting those potp blocks) and the omega lock now lol.
i love this orion but i also have an unhealthy affinity for the Kup mold
That would help make it make sense.
This is a mixed bag for me, I like trion cause it’s a good and obtainable version of the figure but then Orion is a take it or leave it. The vector sigma is nice and has some display options with menasor/Superion but I wouldn’t get this pack just for that
Maybe if you get it you could just sell the Pax on Ebay.
Great figure fucked by QC, where have I heard this one before?
Also, man I wish there was an easy fix for the SS86 Kup gimmick nobody wanted. The only thing I can think of is somehow installing earth magnets, but that requires far more work than I am ever willing to put into a toy.
You basically have to replace the whole hip and thigh section to fix the legs which sucks, and the arms you have to do the same thing for.
@@PerspectiveEnd the reason I mentioned Earth Magnets is that they would solve the issue and allow the articulation to function, but you'd need a drill and precise placement with super glue on hand. it's easy to fuck up and not get it flush.
@@PerspectiveEnd hence why I mentioned the magnets. you could probably drill a hole and fill it with the magnet and glue it into the hole to keep the function, but I do not trust myself with a drill. I'd fuck the toy up irreparably if I did that.
Funny enough, I just got the evolutiop orion and optimus 2 pack not too long ago and was planning to send it for an orion vid. Lol.
Like send it to me? Why did you want me to do a video so bad? If it was to me you know.
@@PerspectiveEnd I just had the thought a few days ago for it.
I love the alpha trion figure im lucky had no QC issues with him
Glad to hear that, better when I'm the guy who has the problems rather than you guys.
