What a blessing these 3 youngsters are. Working together as a family. Learning from mom & dad. Having fun. Injoy your blessings together. Much blessings from Clyde Texas
I hope you're going to restore the body .. then you will have something... I am 66 yrs old, back in high school the postal service was retiring these 3 wheel carts, it became a super trend in South Florida where I'm from, the kids old enough to drive was buying these left and right to fix up and make them look cool, if you drove one to school you were cool...

I love how you don’t push your youngest child to be a mechanic. I can see how much your family loves eachother. God bless yall
47 yrs in machining business, a few things to keep in mind on a lathe. Make sure your tooling is on center with the center line of the chuck. ei. cutting tool point in line with center of work piece. Also be sure when grinding a tool bit the front and sides of the tool hve clearance so not to rube any surface youre machining. Run the spindle slower for bigger diameters to reduce tool wear and heat. Try to find a you tube channel on basic machining. With just the basics you will be able to do alot on a lathe
No need for coolant when turning cast iron, the graphite in the material does that job. Just get the tooling clearances correct and it cuts. 100% correct on your speed comment. It's all about speeds and feeds.

5 hours for that hub isn’t bad for a first project. My Dad was a machinist by trade until he retired. Bought an old used lathe and never set it up in the 4 years he had it before he passed away. It was all Greek to me but I finally found a young man interested in learning the trade enough to fix his own mistakes.

I know you get a lot of comments but I’ve restored 3 of these Cushman’s. First was a 65 3 wheel Truckster. Second was a 76 4 wheel dump truck. Hydraulic dump bed. I wished I would have kept it. The key to get a tool to cut on a lathe is getting it on on center vertically. When you change cutting tools that are different thickness you need to bring the tool up or down to get it back on center. ( pro tip)
You guys are SO much fun. !!! Ralph's quiet the machines. Was is mechanic-ing lots too. I was worried the heat ratio might be too tall with those casings, but fun, fun, fun.

A rubber donut from bmw or Mercedes drive shaft may fit your flange. I don't think straight bolts will hold together very long.. vibration will be crazy. Ask me how I know. Lol
@itsmephil2255 because I did it already. It was hard to find more flanges after I destroyed them using bolts and spacers. I wish I can remember exactly which donut I used after I got flanges. It was probably bmw. Because I had a bmw shop at the time.
@@axleratio we always called it a donut . Lol. It wasn't a center support bearing. It's a vibration damper for the driveshaft. Mostly German cars used them. Some cars only had one and some had 2. They work good if you don't boost the car to much. My 64 CSA used to blow them when I drag raced. Finally fixed it by putting 735i donut in it.
I was a machinist for quite a while. Have ol Ralph do some homework about getting tools on center. When your tool is on center things cut easier, tools last longer, and surface finish improves

woohooooo 👏This sleeperdude-saturday-episode is definitely one i almost can't wait for to see !
Seeing Ralphie learning and Josh teaching hem as i look into the thumbnaill makes me so happy, cause he's learning from the best .
Josh is(to me) a true mechanical wizzard and a awsome dad !
I know this one episode is gonna be a awsome epic one.
Hopefully also seeing wrenching on the cars and seeing the animals !
As always God bless you and I ❤️ y'all.

👏🫡🙏🏻🚘🔧🇺🇲
Thank you
I really thought that this rig was just too far gone. But leave it to the sleeperdude family to figure it out and get her back to running and driving. Thanks guys! Loved this video. God bless!
Thank you
Ralphie is growing up to be a jack of all trades and Wawa is becoming a good mechanic for a female or a tom boy and squeezy is also be coming a very good artist and Josh and Marge are teaching good values and teaching others things that can use in later in life
That was just the most fun I have had yet watching your videos! You guys are just the cutest family ever! A ton of work over a couple of videos... the payoff was getting it dialed in and ripping around the property with those big smiles and laughter! I agree with the comments about fixin' er up nice. She deserves it after all that work!
Thank you
I think the most fascinating part of this video is you guys remembering how the pieces go back together. Especially since different parts were removed by different people.
It's been so fun to be a part of your children's growing up years. Wow! what memories you have created. Ralph is sure growing up. All of your children are soooo talented!! God bless you and keep all of you well and we thank you for sharing your wonderful trips with us. We love them. Merry Christmas Sleeperdude family.
Thank you for sticking around
Sleeper dude I got to say you're living the American dream most people only dream if being able to work at home and work with their family extend as much time with your family as you get to and that's all dude the good hard work that you do and them anyway just wanted to put that out there because I am a fan I think I've been watching you probably since you first video
Absolutely thanks for watching
I love how wawa helps her brother out working on his cushman, oh and josh does a great job as well, great to see Ralphie smile and laugh.
Awesome to see it back running
Awesome video
God bless you and your family.
Thanks! We appreciate it!
Wow!!! This was one of your funniest videos yet. Great job all around .❤
I’d love to have a bench lathe like that. I wish I could have showed y’all some things about it. Looks like yall are doing pretty good. Just please be safe and respect that thing.
Thank you
Speedy Delivery!! 😆🛞💨📨 Good work guys!! That's awesome!!! It sounds kinda like a Beetle to be honest, with those pipes.....maybe some chrome tips. 😎😁 Thanks for sharing! God bless you guys!
Thanks for watching!
WOOOOOOO MIKE THE NEIGHBOUR IN THE HOUSE
Awesome build guys, definitely need to sort that drive joint though 👌🏼
You all were having so much fun driving around the Postal Tri-Truck!!! Awesome video!!!
Josh, next time use cutting oil such as Rapid Tap to save your cutting tools.
Brings back memories of my childhood. Our mailman drove one of these. Congrats on another project running. Good call Ralphie.
Very cool
Sleeperdude family working like a well oiled machine. Everyone doing a job on the same small vehicle getting things done. Ralphie’s fabrication skill are so impressive. Wawas mechanical skills are best yet, she loved getting dirty. Squeezy’s continues to advance in her art. Mom is always using her management skill with family and animals. The young sleeperdude’s are getting the best hands on education by dad passing on his experiences. This is such a joy to watch.
Jamal loves his Daddy, awwww. Amazing the way you figured out the timing rod was out of adjustment. I learned something today! That's one fast Post Office delivery Van!!!!! WaWa and Ralphie are taking on more jobs for Dad, Dad's a great teacher and Mom too.
Its a pleasure to se WaWA unmounting the tank and Ralphie working the lathe.
Thank you
@@SleeperdudeI got an 18 yr (19th dec) daughter who wants to help me with cars but I dont have a lot of space. But in the summer house we have an old Chris Craft boat with a small block V8 thats gonna be fixed, so i need the help 😂
That thing is just awesome , so glad you got it running , to bad you were not in Canada , I have lost of new parts , have a generator with same engine , good luck with all your projects your family show is just great ,thanks for all the entertainment .
Excellent, even Squeezy gave it her seal of approval!
Ive been waiting for this video! Great job as always guys! Ralphie was so funny when Josh jumped out 😂 But he drove it like an old pro!💪
It's good to see the kids working on a vehicle together that's kind of neat and also you can also practice your welding if you just get some aluminum or steel and make yourself a gas tank
Thank you
Good Afternoon Family , I am so glad to see you again today and I hope you are doing well and having a fantastic weekend Beautiful Lady ! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to your whole family, friends and your enemies !
A rubber donut from bmw or Mercedes drive shaft may fit your flange. I don't think straight bolts will hold together very long.. vibration will be crazy. Ask me how I know. Lol
Ok thanks
How do you know 😊
It was called usually a Guibo coupler and was used as a center support for driveshafts.
There is definitely a learning curve for machine work ,looks like Ralphie has a good start.
Fun for the whole family !!!!
Thanks
That timing find/fix ... Bravo 👍
I don't think I would have ever thought of that rod.
I was a machinist for quite a while. Have ol Ralph do some homework about getting tools on center. When your tool is on center things cut easier, tools last longer, and surface finish improves
Ok thanks
Great fun vid, 2 hours of sit back and relax, so looking forward to the model T project too. Man you have a wonderful way of showing fixes and failures. Best sent wishes for you and your talented family!
Any video that starts talking 3 on the tree!
It's good in my book!!!
Cammon!
That’s right
That's so cool, like a VW 3wheeler.
Yall, Squeeze could sell her paintings in it at the events!
After years of saying “stops on a dime”. This is the first time hearing “and giving you 8 cents change “. I like it. Of coarse I liked seeing Gary way more.
Definitely the hardest working family on UA-cam. You are instilling priceless worthwhile knowledge onto your kids and they are running with it. Great job y'all. This is what makes this channel successful and appealing to the masses just seeing kids turning and burning these projects out is building their confidence in their own problem solving skills. Wawa is a funny and amazingly talented young lady and she is going to be a very impressive adult soon. It always surprises me just how quickly kids grow up and these kids are growing like weeds and soaking up so much knowledge that will be helpful in their future endeavors putting them in a much better situation than 95%of there piers. You are raising these kids right. Keep up the amazing work sleeperdude family.
It’s noon Saturday that can only mean one thing Sleeperdude drop🎉
Yes!
The smiles in this video say it all! Fun to watch.
That hat suits Ralphie perfectly ❤
I remembered when you picked this one up thinking “there is no way this will ever run”. It’s is really incredible how far you have taken this vehicle. Congrats! It deserves to be dressed up!,,,and I remember Vennia as a little piglet…Super cute!
PS-Mike really liked this one!
I was definitely wrong
Dude wants to sandblast that thing down and give it beautiful paint job
👍
Y’all are the best! We look forward to watching you every week. Ralphie is certainly growing up and taking after you Josh. You and “”Marge” are great parents and teaching your children good values . Loved watching Ralphie driving his d😢delivery truck. See you next week .
Thank you
It's time to work on Ralphie's go cart. Ralphie if you have a problem with it call wawa.
🤣
Those smiles are priceless. Sleeperdude and family! Love it!
