      @Plasmastorm73_n5evv Make that 4 of us! I had to pause the video and jum on here in the comments section and tell him in detail what needed to be done to get the new led style digital flashers to work as well LOL... He didn't know the led digital ones will sometimes need the 2 pins flip-flopped in the orignal connector in order for the new led style flashers to work... His was one of those applications where the 2 wires were backwards... I even sent him a link to the United-Pacific brand led flashers that I buy and use all the time, that INCLUDE a polarity flipping adapter peice that makes that a plug and play job to flip-flop the 2 pins if they are opposite of what they should be for the led style flashers

    I haven't finished the video yet, I'm at the 33 minute mark where you're working on the turn signals and just found the two Thermal-flashers...
    You was asking for help in the comments, well I'm the man to talk to about that hahaha... I'm more than happy to help you there...
    First off, one will be for the turn-signals them selfs
    The 2nd one will be for when you pull out the 4-way emergency flasher switch on the steering column. That's why they are 2 separate flashers. Ones for the left/right signal lights, and one's for the 4-ways...
    Next off... You do have the correct style digital LED turn-signal flashers, but I didn't see the polarity switching adapters with the ones you bought... With the newer digital flashers like those, one leg will be the 12v + input (power when the key is on) and the other leg will feed up to the turn-signal left/right switch, then ultimately end up powering the bulbs... The thing is, their was never a standardized pin-out for old school turn signal flashers (the old metal thermal flasher ones)... Meaning some vehicles will have the 12v + coming in on one side, and the output to the bulbs on the other leg... while some vehicles will be the exsct opposite of that, where the pin that goes to the bulbs will be on the one side, and the 12v + power feeding into it will be on the other... With the old ones it didn't matter, but when dealing with the new digital LED flashers like you bought, they will only work one way... Some vehicles they may be plug and play (where the 12v + Pin is already in the matching slot) while some other vehicles the 12v + Pin will be in the slot for the output to the lights, meaning it's flip-flopped backwards where you just simply need to flip/flop the two wiring pins is all to get it to work perfectly...
    The ones I recommend and have been selling/installing for customers for years, look just like the digital ones you bought, but mine (from United Pacific brand) include a nice plug and play polarity adapter that will flip-flop the two pins for you if needed (completly plug and play for either style setup that way)...
    You'll see what I'm talking about when you click my Amazon link here for them... You'll see how the ones I use include the black plastic polarity flip-flopping adapter for them...
    www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001GF1A0M?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

    • @jeepjoe1996
      @jeepjoe1996 8 місяців тому +3

      So long story short, simply flip-flop/re-pin the 2 wires in the factory connector and you'll have working led turn signals with those led flashers you bought

    Old school, secret, Josh, throw those seals and races in the freezer for about an hour and then take your finger burner torch and warm up the metal on the hub. It will practically fall together and then as it cools it will seal perfectly. We do that on semi axles and trailer axles, my grandfather showed me that about 40 years ago same thing also applies on ball joints that you have to press in

    My work requires a lot of travel , so I live in my r.v. most of the year...
    I worked in the same city for a year , then hooked on to move about 6 hours away..
    I got about 20 miles down the road & my transmission went out ..
    Called a buddy who hooked on to my r.v. and a bout 20 miles further down the road a tire blew out . (On the rv).
    Put the spare on , 10 miles down the road the spare blew out & before we could get it off the road a third tire blew out...
    Murphy's law was workin o/t .
    Went to a Tractor supply & bough 5 new rims & tires , got back to the r.v. and the electric jack on the tongue would not work.
    Went back to tractor supple & bought two floor jacks & finally got all new tires on the r.v.
    And on my buddys hitch.
    It was 2 a.m. when we got to the r.v. park & I had to be at work at 7 a.m. via an Uber..
    I change all my r.v. tires every 2 yrs , needed or not .
    I read that the sun breaks them down , but the hardest thing on them is sitting for long periods..
    They get a flat spot , then overheat when you drive & that causes em to blow out ...
    Either way , Im not ever going thru another trip like that if I can help it..
    Ole Murphy will sucker punch you in the nads sometimes , so my advice is to prepare for the worst & pray for the best..

    There are two flasher relays on older vehicles, one for the turn signals and the other is for the emergency lights. As far as the left rear turn signal take hook it direct to a battery to see if the light itself is good. You may want to check the weather stripping on you walk in door on the RV. When you were on your drive, you can see a lot of day lite at the top of the door, and with all the work you guys have put into it I would hate to see it leak and cause damage. So nice to see your videos when they come out, but I do have to tell you that after I found your channel I went back a watched all your old videos and then I had to go from one video every day to one every week I had withdrawals, but I made it through without any professional help but it was a hard time in my life. God bless you and your family the way you and your family have blessed us.

    Steele Rubber makes good windshield gaskets, FYI. Drill into the wiper pivots & screw in zerk fittings. Fill it with boat trailer bearing grease. Lastly, replace the wiper drive arm bushings- when they go, it's at the worst time.

    Huge kutos to Marge for the excellent video work, she seems to get all the cute stuff. I'm sure you have checked but I had an issue with the trailer ball being the wrong size and the problem didn't arise until putting a car on the trailer and the trailer tried to eat my $1500 tail gate. Didn't know it was $1500 until after. Love to all ya all.!!!

    2 flashers on almost all cars / trucks by design in the 70's. , one was separate for 4 way emergency with separate power source / fuse. the other is blinkers with common use fuse shared sometimes with dome light or other items.

    When you told Marge you wished you hadn't shown her the seal kit she she was admiring the tiny seals, at least she didn't say, "Oooo! Hairbands!"😂😂 It's hard to know what caused all that rust in the diff. Reminds me of a story. I have a '72 F250 that my dad's cousin bought new. He used to tow a boat with it and take it to the Puget Sound often. After just a couple of years doing that, he started having brake issues. When he took it to the dealer to be checked, the brake hardware had rusted solid from dipping the rear axle into the salt water at the boat launch. The Ford dealer had to actually replace the entire backing plate assemblies because the hardware was so fused to the plates they couldn't even free it up. Loving the videos. I think you've become among the top 3 channels I watch when I have the time.

    You're right by adding grease to the bearings, you need to consider the initial first drive break in. It takes a while for the lube to reach the axle bearings, you don't want to run the bearings dry.

    • @eddiepearl536
      @eddiepearl536 8 місяців тому +3

      You do not want to put grease on the bearings it will prevent good oil flow which prevents cooling . T hose bearings are oil bathed that’s why oil come s out when you remove axle. I work on tractor trailers for a living change out wheel seals constantly.

    • @bigjobford1956
      @bigjobford1956 8 місяців тому +3

      @@eddiepearl536 yeah and it doesn’t hurt to make sure that you got oil to the new bearings. We always jack our trucks up on one side and let it go to each bearing and recheck and fill again.

    • @eddiepearl536
      @eddiepearl536 8 місяців тому +2

      You are correct we always rotate the drive axles. But not the trailer or steer tires as they have hub caps with sight glasses and fill hole. Also overfilling can and will cause axle seals to blow out as you know. Causes a lot of fires with heated brake drums. Haven’t had that issue with the new bendix disc brake applications 😊
