Love Malta. We first visited in 1981 and we have returned 7 times since. It's like being in a huge museum! As for driving , on my first visit I asked a maltese gentleman which side of the road they drive on. His reply" in the shade" !! Loved the place eversince.

You're right! That small island nation is packing a lot of history. Without your trip, I would have never been exposed to it. Even though Malta 🇲🇹 is a long flight from where I live, it must be included on my travel bucket list. Thank you for taking the time to travel to Malta and visiting these historic sites...👍🏻👍🏻

Great Job, Mr. Traveller. My son and I made a simillar tour a couple of years back. Was awesome. Your video is well done indeed and brings back some great memories. I'm thinking of returning with my wife in the Autumn this year for a surprise, as she hasn't visited at all. We adore history. There are so many cool sites there and just wandering around and bumping into things is bliss.

i also think it would be cool if somewhere in this series on malta you could capture the ambient noise of people speaking maltese so we could hear a glimpse of it. that would be sort of cool to me to hear. the best thing would be to go there, but i might have to wait a minute for that.

I am from the UK and been to Malta many times, I love it. It has a marvellous history. Look out for coloured doors at the Waterfront the colours depicted Grain, Fish etc and the old coloured buses that sadly no longer run that depicted the towns as people could not read so colours gave them the information. I've visited all these places in your Malta vlogs. Whilst driving just keep turning left or right, Airport signs will take you south if in the north and follow signs for Gozo if you want to go north from the south and Mdina is in the middle. If you get lost remember you're still in Malta!

The prison from the movie midnight express is located in Malta. I read that the oldest structure is in Malta...10,500 years old.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO MALTA BUT IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT WOULD BE A PLACE I WOULD ENJOY WALKING AROUND SINCE I DON'T DO TOO WELL ON THE UP AND DOWN STREETS AND TRAILS. AFTER 4 BACK SURGERIES I HAVE LEARNED THE HARD WAY TO TRY TO STAY WITH THE MORE FLAT KIND OF GROUND.

I got married there in 2006. Love the islands, loads of history, lovely restaurants, top hotels. The only down side is others have found out about this gem, it’s a lot busier😩, definitely more cars.

I remember the island before it signed up to the silly society, the lira was king, and prices were really cheap, unlike now.

@@EDH-kp6xi economy has improved ten fold since then, I think we can confidently say it has improved thanks to the 'silly' society (of course it has its downsides, higher rent etc) but still

Haha, I think that's a little different.
You could have paid the same price of the first hotel with breakfast in a less touristy place. Also, that smoke in the fields under Mdina is bad grass and weeds that occupy the fields. The farmers put them in one big pile and put it on fire to make space for new plants. You could have also visited one of the many feasts we have around the island during the summer.

I have lived in gozo and malta for ten years,i havn't seen half the places you have visited,so found it very interesting,the only thing than concerns me is that you actually got on to an empty bus to the airport,i think it was a prop
Hi Gabriel, Amazing views of those Catacombs. I don't much of the history of Malta but If I'm not mistaken
St Paul shipwrecked on the Island while preaching around Europe was imprisoned for two years in Malta. They also made an old movie called The Maltese Falcon with Humphrey Bogart about the famous small statue of a black falcon from Malta worth a fortune. I don't know if there's any truth to this.

In kenya car rental for 5 fiveseater is 30$ , 7 seater is 50$ per day inclusive . Hotel which is of good standard is 50$ if you have a connecting flight of 8- 24 hrs you can visit elephant orphanage or nairobi national park entrance is 30 $

Pity you missed the beach next to Golden Bay - Riviera Beach - which is usually less crowded and far more beautiful. There's also Gnejna Bay accessible through Mgarr.

I highly recommend you visit the chapel of annunciation , in zurrieq , a medieval Romania Catholic Church which is an extremely old church.
I also recommend you visit the St Paul's cocathedral with arts of Caravaggio and Mattia Preti known as one of the most beautiful temples in the world.

I have to admit, I do like Gabriel's T-shirts and shirts !! The designs are fantastic, especially the Singha one at the first minute of the video. I'm guessing they're must have been bought in the USA. Perhaps a Gabriel Traveler merchandise T-shirt or hoodie in the future !!
Most of my shirts were bought in different places around the world. Pretty sure I got the Singha one in Thailand, it's a popular beer there.

Been to Malta three times going back again in two month's time for the fourth.
I agree with you 100%: Malta is a small island jam packed with history, beaches, many churches and old buildings etc. They have a good transport system and very relax lifestyle. Valetta has plenty to offer too but I love the island of Gozo and Mellieha Beach etc.
In the past five years or so, there's been hotels and building developments everywhere and loads of them! Cranes and diggers etc are all over the place. Some Old Historic Buildings are compromised for a modern contemporary artworks and buildings etc. It will only be A MATTER OF TIME before Malta is changed forever IMHO.

Unfortunately prices vary from shop to shop (I live in Fgura, Malta) and be warned shops do take advantage of tourists. I look like my late Scottish Father so touristy shops and kiosks asked alot, thinking I didn't know any better, but since I live here I know where the bargains are and what you should expect to pay.

Malta is a really expensive place compared to past years! The reason is cause bunch of tourists are living in Malta and prices get higher.
