One of the things I loved about Malta is that there is a free public toilet in nearly every city. And they are well maintained. Makes travelling much more enjoyable.

That's the most important thing i look for, now that i'm 70 yrs...toilets...it used to be looking for women, first. ( when i was a lot younger) ..now it's toilets first, food second and women third. lol

Every week you’ll find a couple of villages decked up with banners and lights, they would be celebrating the anniversary of their town ‘s patron saint feast! Usually with marching bands and slot of colorful fireworks!

Kudos for the music choices @ 2:43 and also @7:05. Perfect choices . Took it to another level in my opinion. I imagine with footage so beautiful you run the risk of F'N it up with the music choice. You nailed it on this vid. Well done...

Me too, I much prefer travelling alone.
      It’s the ultimate freedom.
Especially because I’m interested in history. It would bore people to stay in a museum or ancient site for hours.
Only downside, I can’t share the beautiful experience with someone on the ground.
Instead, Idrown my family & friends in pictures via Internet 😆

tip for pronouncing maltese place names:
    X makes a "sh" sound
    Z makes a "ts" sound
    Ż makes a "z" sound
    Ċ makes a "ch" sound
    Ġ makes a "j" sound
    J makes a "y" sound
    Ħ makes "h" sound
Għ and H are silent unless they are at the end of the word, in which case they are pronounced as "H" (the english "h")
    (great vid btw)

Hi Gabriel it's so nice seeing my country through the lens and perspective of a tourist. Glad you enjoyed your stay here. I have seen that you were interested in the decorations that you sometimes see on our streets. Every city, town and village have a saint as protector of that place and every church has it's own feast. They all are celebrated throughout the summer season and so every week we have more than one festa going on and those are the decorations you are seeing. You have visited us in the middle of the Festa season. ;-) We are colourful, friendly and quite loud as a nation (like all Mediterraneans I suppose) :-)

Nice to see such beauty throughout the various scenery. Kind of a bummer to see litter on the hillside before you found St. Perter's Pool, and to see that your destination was so crowded. Good work as usual, and kudos on finding a good, cheap, and peaceful lunch. The crowds really deter me. Cheers amigo.

Wow looks like July is better to travel to Malta. Buses are empty, even Marchaxlokk looks nice and empty in summer. I was last November there, buses were full, I had to wait 2 hours in Marschaxlokk for the bus, then came one so full of people that you couldn't go inside, and took a taxi (very hard to find) to Valetta. Those restaurants there were all full, you couldn't even find a seat to eat!!! So next time I travel in July, looks so peaceful and tranquil...enjoy!

The 'ribbons' you saw in Marsaxlokk are decorations (still being put up) for the village festa. We call those liedni or festuni. Every village/town/city in Malta has one, two or three feasts dedicated to their patron saint. Each parish is dedicated to a saint. They (feasts) used to be very religious back in the old days...but now... it's more of an alcohol fest/who decorates his town the better/who has the best fireworks display.

Gabriel has to deliberately put a lot of effort into making his videos. A viewer who is paying attention can realize the subtle but effective tricks he uses to create what turns out to be a kick ass mini film. It’s probably instinctual to him at this point of time but just pay attention to how he pans the landscape as he zooms in & out plus twisting ever so slightly the camera. If this isn’t planned by him but is accidental or ‘a fluke’ I would be surprised.

*@andy artin* ~If i recall my secondary school history and geography courses correctly ({; D , am pretty sure that Yalta is on the Crimean Peninsula actually, in 'deep-south' of Ukraine. Or maybe it's "officially Russian" now; am not quite certain ({: | /

Guess you were looking for St. Peter’s Pool, ha! Prince , oops, King Charles always went swimming there whenever the royals went to Malta! 👍

Awesome! Looks amazing. By the way I've just arrived at Sorrento near the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Any chance you're making your way there too? It's absolutely stunning.!

@@GabrielTravelerVideos I'm staying at the Seven Hostel in Sorrento, which is a reasonably priced base for exploring the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius. Even just staying for the rooftop terrace here is amazing.

Ireland doesn't usually get too very hot or very cold- while the rest of Europe is melting we are a pleasant, 18-20 c - but you might miss the predictable weather altogether, the weather here often changes multiple times a day.

Great content as usual, I always wondered if you ever got in trouble filming someone's face or something? Giving the fact people reacts differently when they see a camera. I wouldn't mind at all just saying :)
