Big Gabe’s narrative P.O.V is much more dialed than down Harold, as he explores paradises and keeps to himself while not blasting locals into his projections unwillingly lol.

I always tell people Malta is very underrated. Not only because of the mix of cultures (Northern Africa, Italian and some British influence), but primarily the architecture and vibe. It feels like the oldest city I've been to in Europe and doesn't resemble any other country. To me it felt like walking through a small city made of multiple ancient castles and fortresses. I like that there are multiple levels everywhere too, just makes it very interesting.

Malta was huge during WW2 and after the siege the island was awarded the George Cross for the bravery shown. Key supply island and Valetta harbour was the focal point of bombing to try and stop supplies from the ships doing the Med convoys. Underground tunnels saved many - tours must be great. Looks a great place to visit.

Hi Gabriel, my understanding is that most of the structures that you see were built by the Knights of Malta. The Knights of Malta (also referred to as the Order of Saint John) ruled the Maltese islands for centuries and left a strong mark. The Knights of Malta were a religious (Roman Catholic) and military order under its own Papal charter, which was established in the 11th century.
The Knights’ main mission was to defend the Holy Land and provide care for the injured. They built several forts and estates in the area to support that mission.

Your first trip to Malta inspired me to go there. I booked a flight the next week for my bday vacation. I loved Malta! That food market you almost went into is great.
Helpful tip: Malta has an app for their bus services. It helped me explore the island on a budget. Search Malta Bus and should come up.

Also, the small archeological museum about 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the main gate is a wonderful way to see some of Malta's historical past. Lastly, staying in Sliema can give you a great view of Valletta, especially at night. Cheers!

17:31- There's a reason why Maltese (or as they call it Malti) doesn't 'look like the other European languages'. It's largely based on Arabic from the time it was ruled by the Arabs from 870 AD to 1091AD and it has the distinction of being the only Semitic language that uses the Roman alphabet (adding a few unique letters). Of course, over the centuries Maltese has added Italian, French and English terminology to its vocabulary making it somewhat a hybrid spoken language! Regardless, Valletta and Malta are spectacular places and I appreciate you sharing your time there with us!

There is this place in the Valleta called the drunken dumpling oh my it's good, very small really inexpensive with large portions. Folks oh Malta is well known saw 3 large cruise ships make port different days during the week off loading hundreds of tourist.

Gabe I’m sorry for the random question but I’ve been meaning to ask after just watching your list of 40 islands in Greece visited and wanted to know if you have been or plan on going to Lampedusa and or Pantelleria? I’ve heard interesting things about both and was curious, thanks!

I understand that the layout is intended to be 3 defenders abreast in every pathway, but it makes old cities cramped! Car parking should be solved somehow.

Do the people there enjoy being called Maltese? I had a Maltese years ago and it was a real cutie.
