- Malta is the quintessential Mediterranean culture made up of every major maritime power that has sailed that sea. Each leaving behind a mark; some larger, some smaller. In a tiny, dense urban sprawl carved into thick limestone, Malta reveals itself as a strategic David amongst the sea’s Goliaths.

#malta #visitmalta
I must address this: this is how I felt and saw Malta. I don’t live there. My goal was to talk about a few aspects of Maltese culture, not try and find what’s horrible about the country.
To all of you who keep commenting about the lack of shots with cranes: I’m from Miami. I’m immune to this since my city grows at a rapid pace. Cranes equal development and I address that issue in the interview with Mr. Spiteri. Also, since I see them everywhere in my city, they become an afterthought, so why would I take a shot of an ugly crane I barely notice?
It's easy to nitpick when you're a local; you live and breath your city/country's problems every day. How can you expect a guy who comes for a few days to truly see what you see unless it's blatantly apparent like say Detroit? I've seen a lot of fluff travel vloggers that go around posting videos with mindless drone shots, tropical house music and who walk around on selfie-cam mode blabbering no knowledge or even an attempt to understand Malta, yet ironically, they don't get this spew of negative comments. Yet here I am interviewing Maltese people and trying to learn the culture and I get a bunch of self-hating Maltese commenting that this isn't real.
I strongly believe that disliking a video because it doesn’t depict YOUR lifestyle and ignoring the effort in producing this episode and trying to emulate the experience of the country in my eyes, falls under the category of trolling.
If your experience or life in Malta sucks and you hate your country, make an episode about that and talk about cranes and dead birds, but quit hating and telling me this is all fluff because I’m just showing the Malta I know to the world.
You seem to have missed the point totally. You are not getting to know the Maltese people or the culture. You are promoting the good things and points about it only so saying you are trying to get to know the culture and people is a bit of a lie.
Either its a holiday promotion video which is what it looks like or it is a video trying to get to know the actually island, culture and people. Cannot be both.
@@mradamcass Ironically, you missed the point. I'm not "promoting" anything here; wrong channel. What I do is discover a place and talk to locals about it to broadcast that to UA-cam. If I wanted to promote something, I would gush over things and say how awesome everything is; something that isn't done in this episode.
I ask questions and try to learn as best I can about what makes a place tick, this is why I bother to interview a chef and ask about Maltese cuisine's past, present and future. This is why I sat down with Paul and discuss development, rents, football, etc.
Mitchell, you should ignore those comments and not engage at all. You are doing yt videos on a channel and the more the viewers the more the people who don't agree with something or don't like something. It seems some people don't understand what a "travel" video is. I am Sicilian, never been to Malta and your video gave me a good glance on what to expect if I decide to go to visit Malta.
@@maxharrow much appreciated for understanding what this episode is about. Cheers!
Adam Cassano he did a really good job, yep its nice to show the nice bits, of which there is
I like the fact that he went the extra mile to add Maltese music the songs for the background.
Thank you for noticing, Pierre. I tend to always incorporate local music in every episode
@@MitchellTravels Incredible video! Do you happen to have a list of the Maltese songs you included?
@@andrewm5297 The first song is called Tlett Ghazenin written and sung by my brother Fredu Abela il Bamboccu. My other brother Renald also sings with him. Glad you chose this song as a background to this video.
It's paradise on earth for me. I've visited twice and can't wait to return. Watching this nearly brings me to tears. From the architecture, especially all the old churches, the small towns, the scenery, the food, and the cultural activities, the history, the tours, and most importantly the people. If I won the lottery, I'd move straight to Malta. It's my favourite place in the world.
The quality of this video is impeccable!
I am maltese and for all of the maltese people I say thank you because you are telling people about our country
Viva Malta!!!!!
Hello Madam, kindly be informed that I have tried a lot to reach Malta, unfortunately, every agent is asking payment and not giving proper guidance. I do have masters degree and 18yrs experience
welcom to MOROCCO

Very beautiful video about Malta. I hope you enjoyed your stay here. Thank you for sharing.
This is one of the best filmed and produced Malta travel shows I've seen on UA-cam. Fantastic sir!
Excellently done! Malta is so unique unlike anywhere else although unfortunately becoming overcrowded. I'm half Maltese and half English and feel very connected to my Maltese roots. The Maltese are the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met.
The best quality video ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I went a few years back with family and friends. Beautiful island, amazing time, incredible food, a place I will never forget!
I love this video, I will definitely travel to Malta, thanks Mitchell, you got me excited to see this place

Maltese American here! My mom was born in Malta and immigrated to the US and started a family in Southern California where I was born! Thanks for making this! Growing up Maltese American I always got “What’s Maltese” now I can just send them this video! I visited the islands a few years ago and they are definitely underrated. I was just there at the end of May. I stayed in St. Julian's Bay, but I visited Valetta, Mdina, etc. I would recommend it to people visiting Italy because it is just a short flight. Love the history of Malta!
Love it! Will visit there SOON!
Beautifully shared

Fascinating
Sitting here in the backwoods of northeastern Vermont USA and this has me stoked to go to Malta asap. Beautifully shot and presented.

Fantastic video! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Very nice video you have shown us a very different aspect of Malta which rest of other UA-camr didn't I really appreciate your efforts and give value to it keep it up
This is an excellent video. Great production values. You deserve far more subscribers.
iiiiThank you Brother for this amazing video. Me encantan sus travesías alrededor de increíbles lugares, la fuente me pareció espectacular. Congratulations Brother, I send you greetings and a hug from Yakima!!!!
Gracias por siempre estar ahí para los vídeos hermano!
Just discovered your channel by accident. I love it! It's clear, crisp, and unpretentious. Keep up the good work! There might be some small improvements to imbibe however, it's totality is awesome. Subscribed! :)
very nice video, thanx!!
You are one of the only people who actually connected to locals. In quarantine I have been discovering new countries, and there are a bunch of vlogers who go to tourist restaurants and don't tell you anything about the city. I love the camera skills and editing as well. I'm your new fan.
Most excellent!
Loved your beautiful Malta video! Thank you! I was trying to make up my mind as to fly from Rome to Dubrovnik or Malta, so thanks to you, I chose Malta.Omg! The water color is soo azure! Cant wait to be there o April 8th.
Thanks! Cheers from Brazil
Love your videos so cool
loving your videos :) what story-telling!
Thank you kindly!!
Hi. Excellent video. Best photography of Malta I have seen yet. I am a Maltese born woman living in Australia and have spent a total of 8 months there so I know it well. Malta is kinder to tourist than those who live there but its often the case. Thanks. Jovanna
The best compliment I can give is: this video gave me that "Anthony Bourdain" feeling... Awesome narration and content. Subscribed!
Beautiful video!! Loved the information you gave and the shots and lighting and mood. Sooo well shot!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much!!
Never knew about this place but now I'm curious!
Maltese Islands are the most beautiful islands in Europe .... I may been sounding very biased since I'm Maltese myself who happens to be living in Malta my whole life. I describe Malta as a country that it is the most parts are just stopped in time with the old buildings and arcitectures.
Great video!
This place is definitely on my list .
I DISCOVERED YOUR CHANNEL WATCHING THIS VIDEO. INCREDIBLE JOB. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏I CANNOT WAIT TO VISIT MALTA 🇲🇹
How nice Job, thx ♥️
You're like a poet Mitchell also love the back shots.
Thank you, Quayde!
One of the most underrated and best channels on UA-cam! Bdw... I've relatives living in Boca Raton, Florida! .. Keep making videos! U're naturally talented in this! Love the cinematography! SUBSCRIBED! Love from Kolkata, India💫👌
Loved the video, subbed!
Awesome video.
Waw.. looks so cool but in the same time peacefully .. if I could I would teleport my self to there now
I spent 10 months in Malta on Erasmus and it is safe to say it was the best experience in my life, I've loved every moment spent on this beautiful island which became my home. Thank you for this amazing video which reminded me of my time there and made me even more nostalgic than I was before haha
Doing the same thing this year! Anything you can tell me
@@pl9995 are you staying at the residence or not? Because it is incredible to live there! Thursdays are the best to go Paceville (free bus organised every week at 10.30pm). Be sure to order your tallinja card (for buses) before arriving online so that you don't have to wait 3weeks pnce you are in Malta. Don't forget to pack your swimsuit! And you will have the time of your life I can promise you of that!
@@wibutterfly8352 yeah planning on staying at the residence. Was a little unsure about it as ive read its a little run down. Also looks a bit out of town. However having said that think it'd be good fun to live in an erasmus community and it'd be a very good place to be socially.
I'm glad you enjoyed my country!!!! You are always welcome to return to pay a visit 🥰
I'm planning on doing an internsip in Malta in February! Any tips and things I should know about the Erasmus program and living there?
I love Malta 😍
Beautiful content, keep it up!
Thanks, for your honest review of malta. As a maltese fellow i like it here i don't see myself living in another country, although it's a bit crowded and jammed with traffic. The video was amazing and hope you visit us again 😀
I would love to travel to malta next year I need some guide for tourists
I love malta is beautyfull I love the beach and sand the country climate all good
Your video is always high quality
Hey, thanks a lot for this great video, of course every destination has its good and bad
and you just found the best way to talk about this little underrated island.
Plus the quality is perfect !!!
I was wondering if the credits to the musics were available ?!
This Island is so, so beautiful. One of my dreams in this life is to visit Malta one day
Wow damn dude!! Never knew how beautiful Malta was
It truly is
That's the perfect word WAS
to my surprise I have learned so much about Malta watching these edits I left Malta at the end of nineteen fifty certainly opened my eyes.
Really enjoyed your video on Malta. Want to go now. From a fellow South Floridian (FLL)
Hi Mitchell, I take it you want your viewers to stop and smell the local aromas of each place you visit. What each takes away from it is the open book of illustrating your footage. 🤩
Wow! I m seeing a familiar scenery... :) I came across your channel while looking for Borneo videos and I found Malta among your posts! I ve been living in Malta for 16 years, so nice to see such a beautiful video about my second home! :)
I’m glad I was able to cover two points of interest for you haha! Have a Gozo & Comino episode coming later on!
@@MitchellTravels oh, Miami would be 3d point of my ( and not only mine ) interest. :) Very well noted about upcoming episodes about Gozo & Comino!
Soon I am coming to Malta! (Cant wait) 🙊💕

Thanks for depicting my home island so beautifully. You captured the essence of what makes us Maltese.
