Starting my LBSF adventure soon. Landed a blacktip with my dad when i was younger in Navarre. In tampa bay/st pete area now. Going to be picking up a 8k spinning combo to start out. Thanks for all the tips, it really helps us beginners out.

hey guys, after seeing you unhook several sharks by hand I wondered, do you crush the barbs or do barbed circles actually come out that easy most of the time?
@CoastalWorldwide1 thanks, probably gonna do the same, basically starting with the proper shark hooks first, then, who knows, maybe I'll trust barbless enough to make it the standard eventually

What is the light your using the green and black one ?
The lights on the rods are just deep drop swordfishing lights- we use them to see slack lines at night when the shark swims in with the bait

Go with the crowbar heavy if you plan on running 35-45lbs of drag- if you plan on 50-50lbs at strike- fish the towtruck

Oh for sure- technically should change topshot after every bigger fish- or every 5th trip if no catch- braid can rock for 1-3 years
