Nice video, good stuff. That's how you learn trial and error when fishing solo. When I shark fish solo I just rope my leader around the weight and pull the rope much easier to control and way easier to pull the shark up especially if it a 6 to 7ft + shark. Keep up the good work.

Leave them alone shark finning is a sin against all nature and I don't like what your doing leave the sting Ray's alone as well. Maybe the lightning trying to tell you something. you do know playing a big fish for a long time can kill them they fill up with lactic acid and can and do die from it. Don't say we not on your side, take the hook stick in your cheek set it hard see how it feel's then try doing some reading about lactic acid ànd fish that's the outcome every minute it takes you longer and longer no the camera for you not her you don't really care if she lives or die's don't dare say she just fine, your beat right now poor baby how about the shark.

What an amazing shark in some unfavorable weather but glad to see you get it back with what looks like to be a tracker on its fins. Forgot my bolt cutters in the car amd had to wait while the wife ran to gran them a few trips ago. Hooked one of my biggest sharks to date and didnt get a single picture due to my mishap. Couldnt get the hook out and needed to cut the barb. The sharks time was running out so I took it in the water for 20-25 minutes trying to bring this shark back to life. The crowd thought I was insane but was extemely happy to see how much I cared about its life. At one point i thought it was dead and beached it before it showed me a little life again. Got it into a little deeper water and 15 minutes later the barb was cut and the shark was able to swim away on its own. Pumped my fist, gave a thumbs up and yelled something as the crowd cheered! About as close to death as it could get so I was as pumped for the release as ive ever been!

Anyone coming to the TX coast to fish, be VERY careful in the dunes. Rattlesnakes, cottonmouths, and even copperheads love them. Have run into all three multiple times in Galveston and Bolivar and had a friend got tagged by a rattlesnake near Corpus and have heard stories of people getting bit when they go into the dunes to go to the bathroom.
If we go fishing or exploring in the dunes and marshy areas I will actually wear snake boots a lot of times.
I know my boy here knows that, but for people not from around here or not used to fishing the Gulf Coast. Would bet money this would apply all around the Gulf from FL to TX.

Whenever you are fishing again, just rent a nice motel next to the beach areas, and yes, we all need someone to come with you to help out. 😐

Damn, that was a slog. You were getting really frustrated with both of you. I know what that exhausted emotional collapse feels like. It immediately floods in to replace the fast retreating adrenalin.

Depending on where you are, you can get good sharks on casting gear. I have a video coming out later this year (it's a long project and I've already filmed some of it) where I cast a bait for sharks near this area.

I kinda prefer the bull/tiger catch, most sharks aren’t an issue, but they are a “FISH”, catch it to meat I’m ok as long as their not endangered or anything, but USA, sharks are far from endangered!
North Western Killer Whales on other hand are. (Just random info!)
FYI, sharks are tough! Cut your line? The hook will rust off. I don’t grasp what he’s actually doing
Sport? Probably a species that isn’t legal
    Cut line
