  • Atheists and anti-Christians often mock and ridicule the Bible with straw man attacks. This is a passage where Paul deals with this sort of thing and teaches us how to handle it as well. We also learn some serious humility.

Mike its so amazing that we will probably NEVER even meet. I'm a stranger to you yet through Christ Jesus you are helping along with the Holy Spirit to change my life. Seriously you have had a great impact on me. Which has had a positive impact on my family and basically the people around me. When ever your feeling down or burnt out......remember what I just wrote. You have touched the hearts of perfect strangers that you will never know. YOU ARE INDEED A FISHER OF MEN and I thank you and above all GOD for that. God Bless

Never give up on them! People prayed for me for years. Finally, on the street in New Orleans God sent a stranger who led me to Jesus and changed my eternity. He was the answer to their prayers. That was 1984!! May the Lord continue to use you, and to pursue their hearts. May they see Jesus in you! ✌️🙏

The advantage of being born into a Jewish culture is that you are raised with the wisdom and teachings of God. However, none of it is of any advantage if it doesn't bring you to repentance before Jesus, who is God, and the only God.

I just watched this teaching. I am new to finding you on UA-cam. I loved how you taught that when Christians read the Bible they always look at it like the bad things that Paul wrote about is about others. But we need to look at it like it’s about us. We have all fallen short. Thanks for sharing!!!

Good word, Bro Mike. Still enjoying this series! After being saved on the street in New Orleans in '84, after years of the drug world and suicidal, I got into a singles' Bible study at my old church in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He took us thru the entire book of Romans every Tuesday night for over a year! He taught as long as you! Lol...it was awesome. Romans is perfect for a new believer. This is awesome, too!

Another superb teaching Mike. I am enjoying this series tremendously. I am thrilled that you are passionate about Israel and are not a part of the 'Replacement Theology Movement' that seems to be rampant in our churches. I also like that you love the work of Ray Comfort. I've been watching him for a few years now, have a couple of his videos and books and have learned A LOT about using the Law to witness to those who think they're good people - as I once did - even though I can't understand how I could possibly have believed that!!
I've passed your site onto my son and his wife and my home group leader and her husband. You are definitely helping us in our walk with Jesus. Thank so much. :)

I am so glad to stumble upon someone who adresses the issue with scoffers.
The problem with scoffers is their "crazy-making" tactics that serve no purpose, other than to drive the person talking to them... crazy.
The scoffers have absolutely NO DESIRE what-so-ever to learn anything.
    They don't WANT to learn.
Knowledge is not "valuable" to them. (Even if it's soul-saving knowledge.)
    They don't WANT to change.
They see NOTHING wrong with themselves.
They feel personally attacked or "victimized" when convicted by the gospel.
They try to manipulate and "create doubt" in the minds of people they view as a threat to their ego. (ego = sin-nature)
These are all traits and characteristics of "Narcissistic Personality Disorder."
(Which is indeed a "mental illness.")
And as we know, the bible mentions a connection between "Demons" and "Diseases."
And the word "Disease" is a vague term that can describe a LOT of things... even mental illness.
    Connect the dots.
    Waste NO time with scoffers.
If they ask questions about the gospel, answer truthfully to the best of your knowledge.
(Even if the question they ask is most likely just a sarcastic "joust" at you.)
But... be ready to plant the seed and "walk away" from them.
For Jesus spoke few words to the Pharisees when they challenged him about God's law, regarding the prostitute, and how sin (at that time) should be dealt with.
    And also keep in mind...
    God gave "free-will" to us.
To try and force the Gospel onto someone would be to undermine the very reason God created us in the first place.
(We share the message, but only God/Jesus can save the soul.)
You can't plant a seed and watch it bloom on the same day.

I find myself scoffing at people on occasion. When I do it takes me right back to an old “friend” in the world who turned scoffing into a science. When I get get called out on it, it’s hard not to blame him for it! LOL In a way it’s true that his attitude had an affect on me. But in reality it was my own fault for hanging around with him…..bad company really does corrupt good morals. Regardless of the influences in our lives, our Heavenly Father is not pleased with our foul play. When we sin, just own it and confess it. We must take it seriously when we do

Amazing teaching as always. I just wanted to point out that the tree falling in a forest is kind of a bad example though. If a tree falls but no one is there to hear, it wouldn't make a sound. It would vibrate the air but sound only exist once this vibration is transformed into sound information at the cochlea. Might be a futile distinction to you but I don't know, just wanted to point that out lol. Sound, like color, is something that is limited to an experience so it needs an "experiencer".

The entire reason I looked this up, what Romans 3:3 means, is because i happened to see jentezen Franklin on tv just now, saying he this is what his message for the day is. And he explained it as, and I’m paraphrasing here, that if God has given you a special word or a dream in your heart or something you have prayed for and others don’t believe it, so what! Who cares if others scoff at what God put in YOUR heart. I’m sorry but that sounds very wrong to me. BUT I’ve only been saved for 5 years so I’m still learning. I know I’ve barely scraped the surface so far because there is so so much to learn. I believe we can never learn everything, every lesson, every secret in the Bible. BUT, am I right that that has nothing to do with this verse? Is he making this another man centered message?

Scoffers are found everywhere. Some of them do so while saying they are Christian by choosing the negative in their interpretations of what was written in it instead. Like when the Corinthians were not welcoming saint Paul after his conversion by doing so. According to them somehow the Lord had already perfected their hearts and so they were not conscious about how unwelcoming they were being towards saint Paul while not valuing his contribution there too. Kind of like how some men false accuse their wives of cheating on them first before becoming joyful about the good news. Or instead how a wife who is guilty of doing so is then all afraid of accepting the only Jewish remedy that was available at the time to her to help prevent a kind of infection later while she was having no choice while participating herself too in the adultery. A kind of infection which often plagued women who were being put away by their hard hearted husbands through no fault of their own accord if they were not Jewish far more often.

Do you preach to pleas your audience or do you revel the real truth to them? What did Jesus say was the first commandment? How did he say we should pray? Are you the only minister of the gospel is true and what is false teachings? What is the will of God for Christians?

      @87048 6 років тому +5

the will of God is that we believe and be saved "for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." but, "he who believes in Him(Jesus) is not condemned; but he who does not believed is condemned already because he does not believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

The way you phrase your statements first spews blood on the other person first. And then you smear that same blood spewed. No one can win your argument. But God is LOVE. That immediately cleans out the dirty blood spewed. And your statement dies. Period.

@@kelventan9886 well, yes. we are ALL guilty. all of us. and then God sent Jesus to clean up the mess and pay our debt owed. His blood shed does clean us all up if we accept it. you pretty much summed it up :)

Levitican Law was unjust that's why Jesus stopped the stoning of the adulterous woman.

The law wasn’t unjust, later in Romans Paul says the Law is good. It’s God’s Word it can’t be unjust.

Muslims take Romans 3:7 out of context. They say Paul spread the Gospel through deceit.

You think there were atheists in the old testament. Nah, they just didn't believe in the God of Israel. They believed in their own gods. Science is the Advent of Atheism, it's a new thing.

      There must have been at least one atheist in antiquity;
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good.
In the pride of his face the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are, “There is no God.”

Mike, the person you describe at minute 24 is exactly why purgatory makes sense from a purely logical point of view.

Scripture says for we are appointed to die once and then there is judgement. Hebrews 9:27. No purgatory, its a false doctrine made up by the Catholic church.

"Stop building strawmen! 😢" Says the guy who five minutes earlier misrepresents Matt Dillahunty's position beyond recognition, puts words in his mouth (deliberately one must presume) while scoffing at him mockingly. The amount of hypocrisy in such a small amount of time is almost impressive.

Anton Ekstrand Glad you’re listening to his sermons at least! God is offering you eternal life through repentance of your sin and faith in Jesus Christ! Obey the gospel. It is truly good news.

Right, it's like he mentioned "strawmen" specifically, to trigger the scoffing spirit that indwells you.
You are powerless to the spirit that indwells you.
Humble yourself and know Christ. Jesus is waiting right now in his Word. He's waiting to intrduce himself to you. Seek him with a sincere heart.....
He isn't hard to find, if you actually look where he can be found. He'll introduce himself to you and it won't be possible to deny he exists. Personal confirmation....man can't prove Christ to you, but Christ can prove himself to you.
