  • Living out the 8 character traits in Romans 12:9-11 is how you can be more like Jesus. We are constantly being called to live a more Christ-like life and to allow God to transform our attitudes and actions. In preparing this Bible study I found that my own life was changed and it made me really excited to share these wonderful truths with you!
    Romans 12:9-11 has a very serious character challenge for us. It reminds us of what kind of person Jesus really was and what type of person a Christian is supposed to be.
    If you want to do Bible study, verse by verse through the whole book of Romans then just follow this link. • Book of Romans Overview

    Wow Mike this hit me hard to the core! In all my 63 years I've noticed that sin is usually skimmed over other than the preachers pet peeve. Thank you for this powerful teaching as per usual. I listen to you daily because you are a rare teacher who is honest compassionate and not afraid to really get to the truth of the matter, that is hard thing to do in this politically correct world we live in . I appreciate you teaching what we truly need to hear whether we want to hear it or not because we really need to hear it! God bless you and your ministry.

    Heart changing video Brother Mike.
    I love you mike
    I'm not as righteous as you and none of us is as righteous as Christ but brother I'm troubled.
    I pray abba father conforms us in to the image of his son the Lord Jesus and we please and do the will of the father and cling to him just like Jesus and always be glorifying Christ unceasingly.
    Mike I'm troubled brother but I love you thank you for this video praise God I needed to see this.

      In all honesty and without any false humility I can tell you that I fall so far short of the full calling of God upon my own life. But I still press on toward the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. What cheers me and sets me constantly on the path to following Jesus better is the sure knowledge of the abundant grace of Christ. He saved a wretch like me! If you are troubled then I pray its the kind of troubling that brings you swiftly to a remembrance of God's grace and back on your feet following Jesus with a clean conscience. God bless you.

      Mike Winger I understand brother,
      I know this is odd to tell you why I'm troubled in a comment section but I've seen the love of Christ in you and maybe you can voice your thoughts on this.
      If not no problem brother, you as a brother to me no matter what you do is always a joy to my heart.
      I'm troubled because of spiritual attacks brother Mike,
      I love praying to the Lord and the more I pray the more severe the attacks like: troubling thoughts anxiety, temptation, fear, distress all at the same time.
      Nevertheless praise God with every ounce of us he created
      Joy and love always be to the Lord.
      And my love I send to you Mike always
      God bless.

    I like to think of the Golden Calf story as one of adultery: Imagine working hard for your wife, and putting up with her unlikable tendencies. Then she gets another man, and says "this is the man who's provided for me" and decides to lay with him.
    Imagine how angry or upset you'd get after all you've done for her, and she just takes another and not only gives him the credit, but "worships" to that degree.

    What are we expected to believe of Jesus, Cole? Will he forgive our, but only if we believe in him? Adding conditions to love is not an expression of love but the handing out of favour to those who bend the knee, True love sets no conditions it is freely expressed.

    • @michellejohnsen912
      @michellejohnsen912 3 роки тому

      There's mercy and justice, not just mercy. To love is to not wish anyone ill, not to let them act evil without justice. Justice is love and so is mercy. Not one without the other. That wouldn't be true love. We all have impacted others around us in negative ways sometimes. Not necessarily on purpose but should we just act like we have no accountability for our actions because we are "loved". That view of love is not based in reality. It's like the heretical hyper grace teaching. When we grieve the holy spirit and choose to do evil, the holy spirit is not supposed to flee? If I am repulsed by something, do I not want to run away from it? The love is not lacking on my part or anyone else’s, including God. God hates sin. I hope this was helpful.

    • @PistachioChicken
      @PistachioChicken 6 років тому +4

      What is your point James Avery? I can offer a rebuttal to what I think you're suggesting. Remember that Truth is a person - His name is Jesus Christ. (John 14:6) We are capable of being deceived by anything else - including 'straw man' attacks on the Word of God. I also hear the contrived argument that - because the word 'Rapture' is not in the Bible (they are ignorant of the Latin Vulgate - and isn't ignorance so often the issue?), it is a false doctrine. The particular word doesn't matter if the concept is there, for goodness sake. The concept of the Rapture is all over Scripture, OT and NT. IMHO, people who attack a concept by attacking a specific word are offering a fallacious argument for the purpose of casting doubt on all of Scripture. What does it matter if the word in Greek is 'cross' or 'stake'? Jesus hung on it, died and rose again to pay the price for your sins and mine, so that we wouldn't have to. And BTW, Truth is not "arrived at" by answering difficult questions through the application of our own fallible human understanding.
      My kids used to say to me, from time to time, "Hey! That's not fair!". I would always respond (kidding, and not): "
      Hey! You tell me who told you that life was fair - and I'll go beat them up!"
      I would give the same response to you James (not JAH) Avery regarding your concept of how you arrive at truth...

    • @jamesjahavey1681
      @jamesjahavey1681 6 років тому

      I do not arrive at truth by getting wild over a matter I arrive at truth by looking at the facts set before me for example the Hebrew sais in this case cursed is the man hung on a tree, and in the Greek it sais 'storos' a single piece of wood. Jesus name is spelt with an X in Greek 'Xristos' ok That is why the Pope has an X and the keys of Peter on his robe, but he adopted the other cross so that those worshipers of Tammuz would feal commutable with the New form of Christianity that he was inventing for Christians, do you still do Christmas?

To get back a chance at what was lost, eternal life, Jesus (God with us) came to be the ransom for all mankind by His perfect sacrifice on the cross. Hello Michelle, I have actually read the Bible and my study of the written word differs quite substantially from your own. It cannot be accepted by any measure of fair play that an innocent person should suffer punishment for another persons offence. Punishment should not be carried down as a burden to rest on the shoulders of the innocent to carry.For that is not justice but a travesty of justice. If there was ever a sin committed in the Garden then who was the sinner? Who placed temptation before the two naive fledglings Adam and Eve? The answer is of course God. He placed temptation in the form of a tree and took Adam and Eve to view it. God was the instigator of curiosity and of sin. Curiously you make mention of Satan as a presence in the Garden and of Lying to Eve. However, there is no mention of Satan in the story of the Garden. And while there another presence in the Garden it was a being referred to only as the Serpent-and it spoke no lie! God had warned the Couple that on the day they partook of the fruit of the Tree they would die.But they did not as the Serpent correctly informed them.
      May I add that I am somewhat bemused by your “Jesus came to be the ransom for all mankind by His perfect sacrifice on the cross.”
      A ransom is a sum of money paid to a captor in order to obtain the release of a captive. Jesus on the other hand was arrested and executed for an offence against Rome.

      @@edwardlongfellow5819 Good morning Edward, there's alot to cover here, so this won't be as short as I would like.
      Revelation 12:9 gives light to who the serpent is. Also words can have nuance and not just one rigid interpretation. There are many different writing styles contained in the Bible. Some of it is poetry or symbolic for example. Most of it is literal, although fantastic, it's still literal.
      Ransom is not always in regards to money. Money is paper we place value on.
      Gold and silver are of different value. Human life is far more "expensive " than can be covered with paper money. Especially when it is including ALL human life. It is not unjust to be holy and have holy standards. Jesus made a free will choice to become that ransom because He had the sufficient worth to do so. A hero chooses to put their own life in jeopardy to save another human life. This is in no way unjust. It's one of the most beautiful things in existence. No one can deny the selfless act of a hero as being the pinnacle of character a human can have. Mankind literally had no hope to regain relationship with God the Father or His intended eternal life for us. Jesus as part of the God head, understood this completely. Due to His love, He chose to provide a new covenant in His blood. A free gift of eternal life offered again for those who choose to be part of the new covenant.
      To "test " or "prove" something or someone, is not unjust. If I created a smart phone and wanted it to be waterproof to a certain depth and timeframe, would I need to test it to make the claim of it's being waterproof before I try to sell it? If I have integrity and want to sell a quality product then, of course, I need to test it.
      God wants to offer eternal life to those who have passed the test. Is that somehow wrong to only want what is good and throw away what is bad?
      Satan always speaks some truth and mixes lies into it, otherwise it would be too obvious and not as tricky or clever.
      So the truth Satan spoke to Eve was that they would know good and evil if they ate of the tree.
      The lies are:
      He said they wouldn't die.
      Not in the very same moment or day, but death "entered" in. It became part of the "DNA" from that moment on, and passed to all offspring.
      The doubt of God and saying God was a liar, was another lie. God is truth, He doesn't lie. So Adam and Eve chose to doubt God's character and believe Satan. Thereby, giving Satan legal "reign "over them and death.
      Satan lied when he said they would be "like God ". No matter how much knowledge we have, we will never be like God. We are creations, God is our creator.
      Jesus's ransom also won victory over death and now He has the keys, which Satan used to have, so to speak. Captive to sin and death no more if we believe in Jesus. Jesus will "unlock" our prison and the "truth" will set us free.
      Yes Jesus was arrested and crucified by the Roman government. Jesus couldn't climb up a cross and commit suicide, suicide is a sin. Also, the Jews rejected His claim to be equal with God and said it was a lie. That's what they had Him killed for. Only it was the truth, and they killed someone innocent. Pontious pilate said he found no fault in Jesus. Pilate fulfilled his duty in government and proceeded with the execution.
      Jesus did not try to talk His way out of the judgment. He stayed silent when pilate asked Him to defend Himself. He was willing to die for our sins. He made a new covenant, in His blood, in which mankind can have hope to regain what was lost in the garden of eden. It's a free gift of eternal life to those who believe in Jesus and want to be with Him forever.

    What is the wages of sin death, or hell? Where is hell in the bible?
    Romans 6:23
    .For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.
    Have you read the New KJV yet?
