- Is it possible to beat the entire Lightfall campaign in Destiny 2… and then get a refund? According to Steam’s refund policy, you can ask them for your money back if you’ve played for less than 2 hours, so today I tried to beat Lightfall in under 2 hours so I could request a refund.
This is one of the craziest things that I’ve ever attempted in Destiny 2. On average, it takes 8 hours to beat the campaign, so trying to beat it in under 2 hours was a pretty daunting challenge. I spent a while learning some strats and coming up with ideas on how to optimize my run, so I hope you find it interesting! Also this video is pretty different from my usual style, so please let me know what you think!

soo, to beat the elevator, just walk into it instead of jumping at all, seems to be consistent for me so far.
About that elevator. Cap your frames to 30 and it will work. The ishue with it is the same as the ones in the Root of Nightmare raid. If you have uncaped frames the elevators act wild
I wish i could play destiny 2 and new expansions, but it so much stuff to buy, I tried using companion app to find ppl to play with but everyone doing stuff on paid content

The massive amount of "hurry up and wait" moments in games is a perfect example of why the two hour refund window is not unilaterally reasonable.

Fun fact about Headlong: I didnt know there was a pattern and I just killed Harpies at random using process of elimination to figure out what the pattern was.
Double it and go to Vegas lol
It’s literally impossible to figure out the order without reading the thing or guessing and you’re saying you didn’t do either so you either guessed or didn’t do it but there was no process of elimination

@@jaylondidde5617 I said I didnt know the pattern as in I didnt realise there was this huge neon sign screaming it. I just used a shotgun to blast away and I did flawlessly for two of them til the last where I used process of elimination
You have a wonderful ability to tell a great story. Foreshadowing, explanation of major conflicts, motivations, and climaxes. Ability to build tension even when we suspect we know how it plays out.
The Lightfall writers could have used you.

Sadly a bit late, as well as how a Witness History Cutscene has been leaked that actually fills all of lightfalls gaps.
If you didn’t know already, if you look up while eager edging near enemies the sword won’t track nearly as much towards enemies as it would normally
Thanks I usually run on Ron and complain about it tracking from across the map I’m going to use this
To other people who read this I assure you that “nearly” is the keyword, sometimes the sword had a mind of its own and it craves blood always

This is still true but not as much because of the new nerf to well skating you'll lock onto enemies 2x the distance as before
I think its funny that Osiris makes it out to be that we need strand in order to beat Calus, but without giving us access to any buildcrafting with it until after the campaign your other loadouts are much stronger the entire campaign and picking strand feels more like a punishment than a reward. You don't even have to use strand for any of the final mission if you don't want to.
I'm really starting to love this speed run trend. Started with "uhTrance" for the Resident Evil series as far as I know of, but it's hilarious too see it done in other games.

When I ran the strike in the campaign, I literally spawned in the boss room with the boss at about half health. Had no idea what happened in the strike!
Probably a fireteam that ran the strike, then left on the boss, and you got logged on their session just when they left
Which is REALLY lucky

Reminds me of when I was doing the first strike in D2 after 2020 (I've forgotten the name), I was loading in, and got sent back to the tower, the session I was loading in, was complete, I even was able to continue the next step

Just for future reference, when in tower if you have light wieght weapons, you get the speed boost with them equipped.

This is the first video of yours I've seen and color me impressed. It was really touch and go there for a while but damn you did it!
Tip for the elevators: just do them backwards. I was dying constantly until I tried it and get through every single time now. I decided to try it because I knew in Dares you can hit the elevator backwards to get Starhorse favor easily and it worked.
Came to the comments to say this. I discovered it by accident though, by turning to shoot some enemies on a nearby bridge.
Riiight cause the game doesn't render the actual state of the obstacle unless it's in your view or something.
There's so many strange fps/fov bugs/cheeses in this game.
I read the elevator is a high frame rate thing so if you go on the elevator, literally just tab out till you get to the top. I was stuck dying over and over like an idiot too. Wild. Great vid!

the, I guess, amusing thing about that first elevator lift in Calus' ship is it's pretty much only hunters that it drops, ran it with my two friends on launch and only our hunter was getting dropped
What I love about the Calus fight is that people complain about the tormentors.
But you can very easily bait them into jumping to their deaths when they jump to chase you onto the catwalks.
lol yeah I've seen some clips of that. You can also just ignore them like I did
I was more worried about the Incens instead of the tormentor, that when looking where it was… I watched it fail a jump onto the catwalk

A quick tip for the elevators killing you, just Win+Tab right after jumping into it, and your FPS will be capped at 30 and it won't kill you. Click back into the game window when you land. Alt+Tab works too but you wouldn't be able to see the game window.
Or, if you have a second monitor, click on any window you have open on that monitor, and the game's FPS goes to 30 and locked.

4:56 if you are grounded; the lifts work 100% of the time… the few times I’ve jumped into them I’ve died too; it’s really annoying, but you have to walk or slide into them
I have a couple myths/questions:
Le Monarque's Recoil can be cancelled by releasing aim and shooting at the same time.
Previewing a shader with a kinetic exotic shows the exotic in that shader despite exotics not using shaders.
There are no strikes where you can ride a sparrow from start to finish (even with glitches)
It is possible to complete a public event during a strike (I had warsat pop up during a strike once)
These are just a few myths that I could think of
devil's lair and disgraced you can ride a sparrow all the way through but that's it I'm pretty sure
You can get fall damage resistance if you block with a sword in destiny two
19:00 - "Cue the sparrow racing music!" plays temple of crota from the og destiny ost.
The annoying thing is I did this with stasis and beyond light and it doesn't let you use the element as you no longer have the dlc
You can prevent the elevator from dropping you by locking your frame rate to 60 or less. Or tabbing out while it's moving you so it's locked to 30.

Btw with the interact keybind I really like using crouch. Same idea as what you have going but I can have my full sensitivity and my radar while reviving. Also you can slide into the revive to reduce the amount of time you have to stand in one spot to rez
i feel that ill accidentally slide while trying to res too much tho. but if you are smart about it this sounds really useful.
From last myth busting stuff, about the 16 motes stuff, you need to pick them both up at the same time or go 30 fps so the 1 mote collect counting goes a little late
We need more pvp tip vids please. Those have helped me so much!
You can shatter skate twice in the Strike before and upon entering the conflux.
1.) After spawning in you can aim for the end of the bridge.
2.) After entering the conflux, skip to the floating platform just before the blight room.

You CAN do something about the elevators... I had the same issue with the elevators multiple times. Then I remembered reading something about wonky stuff /interactions in Destiny with the framerate because of how the engine works. So I enabled vsync so the framerate was capped at 60 because that's what my monitor supports. And that fixed the elevators for me!
I don't know if it has to be 60 Hz or if it has to be vsynced to what your monitor can do...
The elevator physics can be "fixed" if you alt-tab after you get in so that your background frame rate is capped to 30fps for the duration of the ride.

For the lifts that sometimes kill you, if you dont wanna cap your frames, I have had a lot of success alt tabbing while on them

Hey Shadow always nice vids 👌 .. just a little FYI from what I heard from clan mates on PC about that elevator or Tunnel lift part they've said they have to lower their frame rate to 60 fps you will always make it . Not sure if it has to be 60 exactly or maybe a bit higher but maybe try it and see . 👍👍

I would try doing the immortality glitch in breakneck if your trying to speed through. It takes about a minute but saves ungodly amounts of time cause you can’t die lol
did you know that during the strand "on the verge" mission you can skip it by grapple melea pushing the enemies off the map
you can apparantly use sparow before walking to the point where you alctually get the sparow in the raid

@@abhinandhari7812 upgrade modules yes but he didn't do legend campain so he didn't even claim any exotics so pretty much worthless since the subclass gets locked if the UI notices you do t own the expansion despite ready completing the quest

ALT + TAB for the lelevators on calus's ship caps your game at 30 fps meaning it gets you to the top no problem.
Dude. When my roommate and I were doing our Legend playthrough of Lightfall, I spent a solid 2 hours just dying to that damn first elevator while my roommate went and made dinner... we were deadass about 5 more attempts from just having them yank me forward when I FINALLY made it to the end

Superb video, I've got 50000 on my explosive dragonfly arsenic bite(therefore love it)but trinity ghoul is something that is so obviously better I should use it more
50k?! 😮 that’s awesome. I was never able to land that roll on the bite, so I’m glad we were later introduced to the seraph bow that can get not only that roll, but the enhanced one. It’s so fun!

Strand is really fun IMO. I have really enjoyed it the gameplay. Get it on sale, I'd say. If you have other things to enjoy in D2, keep an eye on it for when it goes on sale, because it definitely will.
Now the real challenge, unlock all of strand in under 2 hours.

For the elevator section of you look back at the enemies you pass, it will kick out out less often.
28:07 the thing is, it’s also the coolest strand dive, especially when you do the backflip
while youre on the elevator, alt tab and wait for your character to make make it onto the platform, its a bug with fps so alt tabbing reduces it and fixes it

5:00 i found that the elavator is tied to fps so changing your fps to 3- before geting in saves you
@shadowdestiny on the sparrow part of hypernet current strike around the 4th-6th platform you can skip the rest of that sparrow section by jumping on the edge of the platform and jump onto the side of the overlapping platform above. could have saved you a few seconds.

the true greatest Shader dive is in the corrupted strike and landing it in the portal
I have had no problems with the elevators my self and the ride really smooth so its odd seeing them glitch out

campaigns are mostly story, but you do also get some okay loot along the way. Expansions however offer much more than just the campaigns. They also get you access to really great weapons. So overall I'd say expansions are worth buying if you plan to continue playing the game :) hope that helps and thanks so much for watching

In Downfall, the elevator parts got so annoying that I've just started locking my framerate at 30 before going on them, since it honestly takes less time to do that than to deal with its janky movements and pointless deaths that waste time during replays of the campaign/weekly missions.
