Vibration will throw off your shot and I suppose when you’re mainly playing destiny it doesn’t matter but in any other First Person Shooter games you will get destroyed in competitive playlists such as ranked play, I DO SEE THAT YOU SAID YOU SWITCHED INPUTS and I’m sure you’re good at the games now on an input with no vibration
I had Vsync on for so damn long I thought my fucking PC was broken and I couldn't play Final Shape. But now I'm going to play until my computer catches fire. Thanks Shadow, you are my Hero.
Bungie does a lower reticle for a design reason. It makes you look up at their glorious sandboxes more, games where it’s in the middle like 40% of your view is the ground… It’s genius. Don’t ever change that.
Hot tip about Vsync, please read. Vsync does delay render timings therefore creating an input lag. But it is important to note that unless you are in native Fullscreen mode, you will be getting this delay regardless. (This means that borderless fullscreen, windowed, windowed fullscreen, all have the same delay as Vsync.) This is because fullscreen display API's that are in most rendering engines will render horizontally onto your screen, which is currently (Wayland renderer is working on it but doesn't support Windows systems) only possible by swapping out the render method of your systems graphical output. Windows desktops are displayed with both a horizontal & vertical rendering which is Vsync ("Vertical Synchronisation), thus, any options that render your desktop to your display whilst also displaying the game, including borderless mode, will inherently perform a vertical rendering process before displaying the image.
@ShiggyCompPt2 From what I remember, it doesn't. DX11 didn't support flip natively, and it's pretty clear the game doesn't use DX12 (from when I last played). It's possible they built their own rendition of the feature for xorg display servers but I highly doubt it. Honestly, if the game ran DX12, I would recommend every PC player to circumvent it for every game you have. What a shocker of a driver it is.. I have passionate hate for DX12 lol edit addition: I want to note, vsync won't do much, if at all, to impact performance. It's just that by definition, enabling it doubles the time it takes to display the image, creating the sense of input lag. secondary edit: I read how dxgi works with its fullscreen mode switching. It does indeed have the equivalent of flip-fullscreen but it wasn't made to be represented on screen as a toggle, it was a debug-mode for engine engineers to run a fullscreen client whilst editing their work on a secondary display. I think it's important to share how to tell the difference of the debug/flip mode and traditional fullscreen; if you set the client to "true" fullscreen, then alt+tab, if the game window minimizes/hides, that means it's fullscreen. If the game image remains visible, then it's flip/debug mode.
@@comfyzenny I’m aware that dx11 doesn’t use it but the devs implemented it into destiny 2. Again, from what I’ve read online, not 100% sure. In true fullscreen mode, the game takes priority over everything else running on your system. This doesn’t apply to other display modes. Vsync wasn’t the only way it bogged down performance. With the flip model, borderless fullscreen now gives you the same performance as true fullscreen. Some newer versions of ue4 use flip model. There’s also a setting within windows 11 that uses flip model whenever possible too.
@@ShiggyCompPt2 I'm assuming at this point, you mean render time when you say performance. This statement claim of identical render time was shortly later proven to be a dubious claim using anecdotal bias evidence. Xorg desktop environment gets identical render time to flip-fullscreen because it is a fullscreen render that relies on the xorg servers output. Traditional fullscreen without vsync switches out from the xorg display server to host it's own application. This is why when you alt+tab or close a client using this method, the screen appears black momentarily. DirectX is fully tuned for xorg compatability and traditional fullscreen without Vsync that most games use is a work-around method of rendering what was most common with GLES based systems on now non-compatable display server softwares because MS own the entire industry and xorg is pleasant when interacting with the most common and user adapted desktop environment (Windows). In my first post, I mentioned Wayland. Wayland is a display server software that has the ability to host xorg based applications within it's server, but currently, it does so with a vertical synchronisation on the server output so that any application can use any output method and be compatable. The main topic on everyone's mind is figuring out how to allow a user to choose not to use a vsync'ed render whilst keeping mass compatability. You're right that newer UE4 games and Windows 11 have flip-fullscreen adopted options, but this is just applying the built-in DX12 flip option to whatever xorg rendering application is being hosted.
Adding ADS sensitivity modifier is what got me in to Destiny. Having to set my sensitivity to 4 just to be able to ADS was awful. The modifier itself represents the percentage of your look sensitivity your ADS is set to. For example, if your look sens is 10, and your ADS modifier is at 0.7, that means your ADS sensitivity would be as if your look sensitivity was set to 7.
WHEN DID THEY ADD RADAR OPACITY?!?!?! I already knew some of these, but WHAT?? Not being able to see it well is why I use a color blind mode. Oh my fudge cakes. I just got on to change this rn, tysm! 😂❤
Is that why Wish-Keeper always hip fires as I'm trying to de-nock the arrow? It's terrible to waste a Snareweaver because I was specifically trying to save it
Full-auto is just garbage in general. There's a lot of guns that become borderline unusable or shitty to use with full auto like most Hand Cannons/Shotguns/Pulses.
@@KyhronLuna I think you're just not used to the setting. takes a little while to get used to, but works great on primaries you're tap firing at the same speed anyway.
Hard disagree on the reticle location. It keeps your FoV more upward so you can see enemies above you and also allow you to take in your surroundings better while keeping your sights forward. Theres a reason big fps games with a very distinct vertical axis of movement and large structures keep the reticle 1/3-3/8s the way up
Hard disagree on the lowered crosshair. Looks like ass feels like ass and hasn’t been a thing for a decade when halo 3 was done. Games use centered now for a reason
Only reason why I use it is to 1: see hunters in the crucible, and 2: see more of my screen unobscured by my gun (I’d probably turn it off if I could change fov on console)
The aim smoothing one is wild I didn’t notice any changes when turning it off and just thought it was a coincidence. Thanks for the heads up! I’ll have to manually disable it in the files.
SAME! will check on that one for sure. Had no idea, obviously turn it off in EVERY game I play. But if the game hardblocks it regardless of setting....
He actually has it wrong in the video.... The value is completely ignored if you turn off smoothing in-game. If smoothing is on in-game, then: 0 - No smoothing 1 - No smoothing 2 - Some smoothing 3 - More smoothing Higher values seem to revert to either 1 or 2.
You can set your trigger sensitivity, and i recommend doing so, for advanced timing for shots, especially with sidearms and pistols to keep from wasting dmg bullet rounds or keeping enough in the mag to kill 2 with one clip before reloading. You still need to be mindful if full auto is on for these. Ace, hawkmoon, sturm, bottom half mag dmg, rampage, etc.
fun fact: the enhanced pointer precision in mouse settings doesnt actually do anything in destiny 2 cause it uses raw input which isnt affected by any windows settings :)
there is a reason to not have full-auto turned on, it does often cause you to fire extra bullets when using hand cannons or other precision weapons, when you're not intending to. This can cause issues when in PvP f.ex.
Super hard to fire one shot on faster rpm guns. Like a 300 or 450 side arm. F that. But I turned it off and was way harder to try to press the trigger that fast… would be cool to have a fine tune setting for auto fire. Like the delay for double click…
@@LaneBatman-c2vits pretty trivial to hit the correct rate if youre on a mouse, but on controller full auto makes much more sense, because you dont have to spend time releasing and pressing the trigger again. I remember back in D1 there was a lot of talk about hair trigger mods so you couldn't press the trigger further than its activation point.
chromatic aberration is something you can notice while wearing glasses (irl). It pretty much only happens when looking out the edges of your glasses, and as you turn your head towards the object you can see the reds and blues align with the object you are looking at.
I kept controller vibration on for about 1-2 years before finally turning it off. It took a good while to get used to but I think I like having it off more now than before.
Thanks again for the tips. As a colour blind player, changing the reticle from red to yellow (even though I had the CB settings on), made an enormous difference to my game. As a CB player, who is RG colour blind, I really couldn't see the reticle easily. I can't see items as yellow when the CB mode is on, yet changing the reticle colour to yellow was an enormous change. It was why I stayed away from PVP.
i dumped in around 2000 hours from launch to beyond light....stopped playing shortly before witch Queen and haven't touched it since...been seeing alot of the cool new stuff and decided to try and jump back in.....I'm so lost and overwhelmed...everything i grinded for seems obsolete and my entire build got dismantled over time...I don't even know where to begin or even if I should
I love this type of videos 1) Chromatic Aberration, Film Grain, Depth of Field and Motion Blur are subjective settings witch should be used as a personal preference, especially its always cracks me up showing off MOTION blur in a form of a screenshots or edited effect (motion blur in destiny 2 is not THAT aggressive on foot) 2) Reticle location should be kept below center for console players for much easier aiming and for anyone who has a feeling what guns in destiny 2 take too much of a screen estate since centered option moves weapon models higher in a player pov 3) Full Auto Mode is accessibility option turned off by default for a reason which should be obvious for anyone who played this game 4) Destiny 2 on PC has notoriously bad Freesyng\G-Sync support which makes lighting effects strobe and flicker if framerate goes to 30 which is EVERY cutscene, and it can stay that after cutscene ends (most notoriously this issue occurs after any Lightfall cutscene\cinematic or at a later half of Witch Queen), turning VRR off is not an option either, game will become very choppy since a lot of elements dont actually update at framerates above 60 or 90, so its best option to keep vsync active at desired framerate target and use NVIDIA Reflex to negotiate small visual latency Vsync in this game introduces (which is actually fine since D2 engine uses triple buffer vsync option) 5) Setting screen bounds closer to center will make elements of character menu notably banner above bigger, obstructing some other elements of the screen, notably weapon description window
So I came back again with another comment here and I just had to say the tip about setting your aim to the center of the screen has been an absolute lifesaver. It’s so crazy to think all of these years just that tiny little difference made things feel just the slightest little bit off that I didn’t even realize until now … it’s been most noticeable with sniping. I legitimately always wondered why I could never seem to hit my marks and it all makes sense now! This video alone was super helpful and that tip by itself has completely changed the way the shooting aspect of the game feels to me. Kudos for putting this out there 🎉
4:05 Just FYI, muscle memory in aiming isn't a real thing; I know that from my own experience in aim training. This setting mostly affects flick shots, where speed is really important. Personally, I keep this setting off, but I highly advise people to test it themselves. Overall, I would say mouse control and sensitivity are more important than this setting.
I know this is updated 2024 version. And I don't know if you will see this. But I'm playing on Xbox and don't see the depth of field option or the wind impulse option
How the hell you get your motion blur that blurry though. I always had it on and the only thing that ever got blurry the two lines next to the handcannons red dot.
I’ve been used to below center reticle for 10 years playing Destiny. All my muscle memory is based on it. Can you explain more why you think it’s worth switching to centered. I’d expect a meaningful learning curve to regain the same muscle memory.
10:31 weirdly enough, FPS cap can dictate how much damage received. People have done tests of high vs. low where low cap fps register less damage than high cap fps. Weird fact but true
@@thonorderud yes that's technically a thing still, tho it's pretty unnoticeable nowadays, but just for thundercrash vs thundercrash that same mechanic is actually going to do more damage to the enemy than the lower fps.
You have the part about smoothing wrong in the video. Tested it now, and from what I can gather: The value is completely ignored if you turn off smoothing in-game. If smoothing is on in-game, then: 0 - No smoothing 1 - No smoothing 2 - Some smoothing 3 - More smoothing Higher values seem to revert to either 1 or 2. Lower framerates equal more smoothing, so most likely these values are how many frames the movement is smoothed over.
Motion blur made sense when D2 came out as it reduced the amount of work your GPU has to perform. That was seven years ago when people had less powerful GPUs.
One correction to make. This was true in the beginning months of Lightfall and will probably never be fixed because it's Bungie. Set your framerate cap to 60 because you will take more damage at higher framerates due to a physics bug or something. If Bungie ever fixed that then great, because higher framerates are preferable but this has not been fixed to my knowledge.
That actually explains why i die by mobs more often on pc than on consoles. My pc is capable of running the game at stable 120 (average) fps/ 1440p resolution on ultra settings. However, it seems like my cpu Ryzen 5600x is not powerful enough to push my gpu rx7800xt to its limits. My gpu always stays around 60% utilisation when playing destiny 2. So, it is time to buy ryzen 7 5800x3d.
😅d rather die irl than play at 60 fps… rip. Just makes up better. I notice timers go too fast too. Like on the battlegrounds when the lasers track you. The seconds be going faster than a second haha…
Thank you for making this video. I didn't think to mess with the majority of these settings on console and have been playing off and on for years. Better late than never I guess. 😆
I HATE full auto firing as a setting. I despise my pistols having unmanageable recoil and popping off 2 shots when I only meant for one. I will also say for any New Lights reading this, bind your powered melee and basic melee to separate keys, it’s vitally important. I personally like powered melee on Q and unpowered on E and finishers on 2 and 3. I utilize a mouse button to act as the press to swap, hold for heavy, and I also have that function on my 1 button and swap yo heavy on my 4 button. easy to access and easy to remember in a pinch. This and making sure your sensitivity suits your playstyle. I play 800DPI at 8 sens and a .8 ADS modifier.
The aim smoothing tip changed my life. I took a good break from the game, when I came back, I thought i was just rusty. As soon as I fixed that bug my aim was back to normal
my god i happen to see this video and i decided to check this out and it did not waste my time, the most notable of all is the full auto firing option, as a returning player i never knew there was one in the setting, i always wanted to use some exotics pulse but no full auto, as it might cost me to change mouse if click a lot, but thanks to u for making this video, it helped me a lot, thank u for sharing these tips man
I leave vibration on, having it off messes with my aim because I'm not getting feedback I'm expecting, and I use it as an indicator of being shot allowing Mr to devote more visual attention to other aspects. While I could probably train myself out of this I don't feel the need to, and feel this is an very individual decision
For anyone using a 60hz monitor, don't turn off vsync, trust me, it doesn't add input lag, or the little it does isn't noticeable on anything that can run destiny at a stable 60fps, it's meant for that frame rate in the first place and is perfectly fine with it
@@ritzkit1244 120hz monitor these days is like an extra $35aud . If you can afford a PC you can afford an extra few dollars to buy a below average 120hz monitor bro
This just isn't true. Vsync, no matter what, creates more input lag than anything. There is a VERY good reason freesync/variable refresh came around. All the benefits of vsync without the negatives. Vsync has NO benefit but screen tearing, and unless your monitor is from the late 2000s to early 2010s, you won't even notice a difference as 99.9% of monitors nowadays don't even experience screen tearing unless the game is running at like 20fps, and at that point vysnc wouldn't fix anything
Duuuuude the depth of view setting is the one that was messing me up so much, the adaptability of my eyes has been decaying over the years and I might not be able to focus fast enough to see an enemy (this is also the reason I use tiicus divination a lot, so when they're on sight I can focus quicker but it was a temporal solution only) and with that turned off I can refocus faster idk why that is but really thanks for the help with that
About the aiming sensitivity modifier you spoke about at 9:53. . I have measured out a full 360 degree turn on my mousepad and I can confirm that having it at 1.0 does not translate to the same value as "not ads-ing". Unfortunately, 1.5 doesn't even make it 1 to 1, and that's as high as it goes. I wish Bungie would either fix the description of the setting or fix the setting itself to work as it is described in game. Maybe we could shed some "light" on that, hehe.
No game ever has it like you want it. You never want your aim sens to equal hipfire sens in regards to 360° distance. That would be bad for a fast paced game. Also, each zoom from adsing with the Traveler's Chosen (12 zoom), to Ace of Spades (14 zoom), to No Time to Explain (17 zoom), all the way to Beloved (40 zoom). All have entirely different scales, ie 0.8 Beloved would "feel faster" than 0.8 Ace of Spades. The real crime from bungie is either not having a better scaling for each zoom level or not have separate ads/zoom sens settings for like low zoom and high zoom. For example, when I use Ace of Spades or No Tine to Explain, 0.8 matches up with my hip fire of 5, pixel by pixel pretty well. However, if I use travelers chosen, 0.8 is too slow, 0.9 matches up with it pretty well. But then Beloved is too fast, but 0.7 is perfect. If I could have a low zoom of 0.8 and a high zoom of 0.7, we'd be set. Alas, 0.8 for all works well for me😊
Bungie must be watching your stuff because Reticle Location is now Centered by Default (at least from my experience as a returning player, who tried to change that setting). Kuddos to you for all the awesome content!
the reticle location is set to bellow center so that half of your screen isnt literally the ground. it subtly (or not so subtly) gets you to look up and around at the crazy ass environments in the game.
Idk if it’s been like this for a while but if you are looking at directions and wait a bit the same lines from when the traveler pushed back the black fleet and titan whent missing are there
Addition to the screen bounds, very helpful for ultrawide aspect ratios, the default uses the 16:9 hud setup. Scootch your hud to the sides and see more of that delicious ultrawide
On PC and just checked that mouse smoothing file you spoke of. Holy crap....it was set to on, even though the in-game setting has been off since day 1. Great catch and thank you for mentioning that here....I think I may have known about it at some point, but....I'm old... THANK YOU
Almost moved in to my new house bois. Thanks to Shadow for keeping me entertained and updated. The grind for Perfect stat rolled Synthoceps will continue soon!
Wow this video is a gem! I gotta say though I’m vibration for life. There are vibration queues for so many things it definitely makes me more aware of everything that’s going on.
Just an update on the shadow setting, the 4th encounter in the salvation edge raid needs you to have the shadow on. It allows you to see the symbols on the projector. To remove the shadow settings, you cant change it from the same place or setting the settings of the shadow higher, you have to reset the settings to default to undo removing the shadows from the text files.
Dude!!! I have a potato laptop that barely has consistent fps on PvE activities. PvP was almost unplayable. Turned off Vsync and now the game is more consistent and enjoyable! Massive thanks! ❤
You make controller vibration sound like an earthquake in your hands when it’s really the most helpful setting in destiny. It gives so much information that you don’t have to listen or see just feel in your hands.
Shadow I hope you see this but I have a myth for your myth busters the myth is that if you open the icon for necrochasm in the distance you can actually hear the screams of wizards
the recital setting helps me keep my recital off the floor and with hunters in pvp. though I could just get used to centered, I just prefer below forces me to look up
Oh btw your chromatic aberration note about the radar is wrong. Did you not notice the red line is divided around the edge just like the cone is in the radar? It’s a light red line that becomes darker red and finally turns to the red triangle when within range of the radar map. So the pale line becoming darker literally before it changes to the cone is the radar giving you early warning there is someone way out in that direction.
The auto centering function on controller isnt that bad for me somehow, especially for pvp. I tend to to aim to low with my crosshair when sprinting forward for some overview. the centering always gets the crosshair right near head position without micro adjusting all the time.
Thanks so much for the advice. I have just made the changes such as motion blur, 120 Hertz and reticle location. I usually turn off motion blur on all my video games, but I can’t believe I forgot Destiny😂 because that’s what messed me up in Crucible.
The best setting I have is setting manual fire to automatic, turning pulse rifles, hsndcannons, all semi auto guns to almost full auto. Alot of games have that setting, but it's usually slower than manually pulling the trigger each time, but not the case w Destiny.
didn't know you could move the reticle... since changing it, I've been able to snipe things... and hit them 😂 (even shanks) ...thanks for bringing the 'fun' back!
Its good to note that something like rockets or grenades launchers can be shot faster if you hit the reload button right after you fire the rocket. Waiting for the game is much longer and hurts your dps.
you'll never catch me with the motion blur on in any game, looking for that shit and making sure its off is the first thing i do booting up any game, but thank you for the rest of the tips i have been off destiny since Destiny 1
@@ShadowDestiny Not at all. I really can't get over the difference, even the colours look better somehow! I don't know if it's the changed settings or what but I just finished a nearly flawless Excision replay 😀
You have saved my PvP experience. Most matches I’d be coming out negative kd or on the borderline but my first game since opting these settings im top of the leaderboard 3.37 and even on a good day I don’t pull numbers like this
I prefer the lowered crosshair. Makes it so if im aiming parallel to the ground im looking at less ground texture and with how pretty the environments are its so much better
Centered reticle position is almost exclusively a disadvantage in this game outside of you simply being used to it. Visually worse recoil, gun model raised to obscure your view, less vertical focus in a game that generally wants you to look upwards.
hey shadow just fyi if you turn shadows to 0 on cvars the encounter of verity (salvation's edge) gets bugged where the figures on the wall don't appear

You dont need dx12 to implement independent flip. It seems like most modern games do it now, including Destiny from the tests I've seen.
Number 16 is a life saver for those of us with ultrawide monitors man. I HATE having to physically turn my head left to see radar.
My same exact thoughts and reaction!
Like 2 seasons ago
Maybe longer than two
Yeah but what about war thunder 😂
Did Destiny 2 not have Radar Opacity? O.o
Destiny 1 to my knowledge always had it as an option!
Full-auto firing can mess with bows, making it harder to de-nock an arrow without accidentally shooting it.
Sounds like a skill issue, never ever experienced this issue and I use the bow a lot.
@@KyhronLuna I think you're just not used to the setting. takes a little while to get used to, but works great on primaries you're tap firing at the same speed anyway.
@@KyhronLunaunusable? 😂 casuals are wild.
Hard disagree on the reticle location. It keeps your FoV more upward so you can see enemies above you and also allow you to take in your surroundings better while keeping your sights forward. Theres a reason big fps games with a very distinct vertical axis of movement and large structures keep the reticle 1/3-3/8s the way up
Plus moving the reticle up just moves the gun models up, obscuring your view and making recoil visually worse
Hard disagree on the lowered crosshair. Looks like ass feels like ass and hasn’t been a thing for a decade when halo 3 was done. Games use centered now for a reason
@@burningblaiseI sense much death from above in your future
It gives me horrible eye strain and nausea
If smoothing is on in-game, then:
0 - No smoothing
1 - No smoothing
2 - Some smoothing
3 - More smoothing
Higher values seem to revert to either 1 or 2.

I know for a fact im not the only person who was watching this & went feral the moment you implied blacklisting PVP maps
You are not alone.
0:12 you didn’t have to do soup like that 😂😢
The final shape update did something on ps5. My right thumbstick deadline feels different. Might have to check things out.
there is a reason to not have full-auto turned on, it does often cause you to fire extra bullets when using hand cannons or other precision weapons, when you're not intending to.
8:37 Holy crap! I wear glasses and I see blue and red outlines on high contrast surfaces! I never knew this was because of my lenses
It's not from glasses. He literally says CAMERA lenses.
@@HajileMalach which glasses are just lenses?
chromatic aberration is something you can notice while wearing glasses (irl). It pretty much only happens when looking out the edges of your glasses, and as you turn your head towards the object you can see the reds and blues align with the object you are looking at.
@@andrewb5123 well crap that's not the case for me on bright days
I kept controller vibration on for about 1-2 years before finally turning it off. It took a good while to get used to but I think I like having it off more now than before.
Thanks again for the tips. As a colour blind player, changing the reticle from red to yellow (even though I had the CB settings on), made an enormous difference to my game. As a CB player, who is RG colour blind, I really couldn't see the reticle easily. I can't see items as yellow when the CB mode is on, yet changing the reticle colour to yellow was an enormous change. It was why I stayed away from PVP.
i dumped in around 2000 hours from launch to beyond light....stopped playing shortly before witch Queen and haven't touched it since...been seeing alot of the cool new stuff and decided to try and jump back in.....I'm so lost and overwhelmed...everything i grinded for seems obsolete and my entire build got dismantled over time...I don't even know where to begin or even if I should
I love this type of videos
1) Chromatic Aberration, Film Grain, Depth of Field and Motion Blur are subjective settings witch should be used as a personal preference, especially its always cracks me up showing off MOTION blur in a form of a screenshots or edited effect (motion blur in destiny 2 is not THAT aggressive on foot)
2) Reticle location should be kept below center for console players for much easier aiming and for anyone who has a feeling what guns in destiny 2 take too much of a screen estate since centered option moves weapon models higher in a player pov
3) Full Auto Mode is accessibility option turned off by default for a reason which should be obvious for anyone who played this game
4) Destiny 2 on PC has notoriously bad Freesyng\G-Sync support which makes lighting effects strobe and flicker if framerate goes to 30 which is EVERY cutscene, and it can stay that after cutscene ends (most notoriously this issue occurs after any Lightfall cutscene\cinematic or at a later half of Witch Queen), turning VRR off is not an option either, game will become very choppy since a lot of elements dont actually update at framerates above 60 or 90, so its best option to keep vsync active at desired framerate target and use NVIDIA Reflex to negotiate small visual latency Vsync in this game introduces (which is actually fine since D2 engine uses triple buffer vsync option)
5) Setting screen bounds closer to center will make elements of character menu notably banner above bigger, obstructing some other elements of the screen, notably weapon description window
Kudos for putting this out there 🎉
Hey, nice shout out on that aim smoothing fix. Still warms my heart to see modifying config files yourself to change settings never really dies.
I have been playing since D1 and nobody ever helped with settings as much as this video has!
Excellent job and thank you. I have been sharing it alot.

Just FYI, muscle memory in aiming isn't a real thing; I know that from my own experience in aim training.
I’d expect a meaningful learning curve to regain the same muscle memory.
not worth...the game is designed to be below center....it's arguably better in pvp (but only if you're a sweaty queef)
10:31 weirdly enough, FPS cap can dictate how much damage received. People have done tests of high vs. low where low cap fps register less damage than high cap fps. Weird fact but true
Pretty sure enhanced pointer precision only affects the cursor, as the game uses raw mouse input
Just as an FYI, the higher ypur fps, the more likely youll survive an equal dps encounter, especially in pvp
Don't you take more damage(pve) the higher your fps is this game? Remember we turned down the frames during contest mode for Vow.
@@thonorderud yes that's technically a thing still, tho it's pretty unnoticeable nowadays, but just for thundercrash vs thundercrash that same mechanic is actually going to do more damage to the enemy than the lower fps.
You have the part about smoothing wrong in the video.
Tested it now, and from what I can gather:
The value is completely ignored if you turn off smoothing in-game.
If smoothing is on in-game, then:
0 - No smoothing
1 - No smoothing
2 - Some smoothing
3 - More smoothing
Higher values seem to revert to either 1 or 2.
Lower framerates equal more smoothing, so most likely these values are how many frames the movement is smoothed over.
The motion blur made way more of an impact than I would have expected it to. I have been playing it with that for years...
I keep vibration on, but turned the about of vibration way down in the Xbox settings. It helps me know when I’ve used one of my double jumps.
How do you do that? I only see an option to turn on or off on Xbox settings
Liked and subbed - great content man! I had most of these set, but HUD Opacity and Pointer Precision BLEW MY MIND!!!
my god i happen to see this video and i decided to check this out and it did not waste my time, the most notable of all is the full auto firing option, as a returning player i never knew there was one in the setting, i always wanted to use some exotics pulse but no full auto, as it might cost me to change mouse if click a lot, but thanks to u for making this video, it helped me a lot, thank u for sharing these tips man
You're the best, Shadow. Thanks so much for this.
np bro
I leave vibration on, having it off messes with my aim because I'm not getting feedback I'm expecting, and I use it as an indicator of being shot allowing Mr to devote more visual attention to other aspects. While I could probably train myself out of this I don't feel the need to, and feel this is an very individual decision
One more thing you should add is the HUD-Opacity setting!
Been playing d2 since launch and never knew about mini map opacity settings. Wow. Thank you so very much!
Because it's in the game for a couple months now
I don’t care about war thunder but I watch the ad because I love you content 6:21
For anyone using a 60hz monitor, don't turn off vsync, trust me, it doesn't add input lag, or the little it does isn't noticeable on anything that can run destiny at a stable 60fps, it's meant for that frame rate in the first place and is perfectly fine with it
If someone is using a 60hz monitor in 2024...... Well that's just sad
@@P1DZz”eww people can’t afford to get a higher level monitor” like what are you on about 😭
@@ritzkit1244 120hz monitor these days is like an extra $35aud . If you can afford a PC you can afford an extra few dollars to buy a below average 120hz monitor bro
but if i have a 75 its ok? im really asking cause idk much about this
This just isn't true.
My #1 favorite setting is full auto firing. I’ve been obsessed with it on the Malfeasance for the past 6 years.
Duuuuude the depth of view setting is the one that was messing me up so much, the adaptability of my eyes has been decaying over the years and I might not be able to focus fast enough to see an enemy (this is also the reason I use tiicus divination a lot, so when they're on sight I can focus quicker but it was a temporal solution only) and with that turned off I can refocus faster idk why that is but really thanks for the help with that
How do you turn off wind impulse?
Are there anymore custom file settings that pros use, similar to the shadow setting you mentioned at the end.
Alas, 0.8 for all works well for me😊
@coltoncummins10 Wow, that's way more than I was expecting!
I appreciate your comment on it, now I know how to go about this.
Bungie must be watching your stuff because Reticle Location is now Centered by Default (at least from my experience as a returning player, who tried to change that setting). Kuddos to you for all the awesome content!
Love your content man
I don’t have “120 hertz mode” how do you get that settings?
Make sure you have a 120hz display, and enable it in system settings
the reticle location is set to bellow center so that half of your screen isnt literally the ground. it subtly (or not so subtly) gets you to look up and around at the crazy ass environments in the game.
Idk if it’s been like this for a while but if you are looking at directions and wait a bit the same lines from when the traveler pushed back the black fleet and titan whent missing are there
I've been playing with default settings since day 1, and I'm doing fine, bro. 😊
This just helped me out ALOT.

I just started playing 3 weeks ago and forgot this game even had setting thank you 😂
Np
Shadow I hope you see this but I have a myth for your myth busters the myth is that if you open the icon for necrochasm in the distance you can actually hear the screams of wizards
the recital setting helps me keep my recital off the floor and with hunters in pvp. though I could just get used to centered, I just prefer below forces me to look up
Can someone please tell me what the shader is called at 0:12?
Its no shader
isn't chromatic abberration used for these blue and red 3d glasses in cinemas a while back? i always thought it was there for a 3d effect
Do we know if when using full auto with Linear fusion don’t auto reload when the clip is empty still?
Great video! Vet here and had didn’t know about alot of these
I was going crazy trying to figure out why I had so much stick drift. Thank you.
Thanks so much for the advice. I have just made the changes such as motion blur, 120 Hertz and reticle location. I usually turn off motion blur on all my video games, but I can’t believe I forgot Destiny😂 because that’s what messed me up in Crucible.
Definitely useful and just applied most of the settings! Thx Shadow D
The best setting I have is setting manual fire to automatic, turning pulse rifles, hsndcannons, all semi auto guns to almost full auto. Alot of games have that setting, but it's usually slower than manually pulling the trigger each time, but not the case w Destiny.
Newbie here thanks for the help. I've played with some long time players and they have helped somewhat but nothing like this really appreciate it. 😊
didn't know you could move the reticle...
since changing it, I've been able to snipe things... and hit them 😂 (even shanks)
...thanks for bringing the 'fun' back!
Thanks for the video man
Its good to note that something like rockets or grenades launchers can be shot faster if you hit the reload button right after you fire the rocket. Waiting for the game is much longer and hurts your dps.
Been playing this game since launch and never realised i could change the transparency on the radar!!!🙄 Thanks very much!!!

Thanks, helped me very well
love you, I returned to the game like today so i made all changes I didn't even know that come available :D
Centered reticle position is almost exclusively a disadvantage in this game outside of you simply being used to it. Visually worse recoil, gun model raised to obscure your view, less vertical focus in a game that generally wants you to look upwards.
Thanks man, this really helped me!
As someone with visual snow, I’ve never cared about the film grain setting. Looks to same to me either way lol
hey shadow just fyi if you turn shadows to 0 on cvars the encounter of verity (salvation's edge) gets bugged where the figures on the wall don't appear
