I'm very relieved to learn that they have done a good job opening up the gameplay and world. I was really wondering what they could accomplish with a sequel.
shuriken being a core ability now instead of having a frankly insane cooldown, as well as being able to block shots instead of being parry only, really make this game feel much more badass than the first
it just make it easier for the casual audience, learning the timing and actuality pulling off the party on bullets in GR1 actually made you feel like a badass, not just hold a button
The designs of the other characters really do need better work to make em a lil more distant and better facial animation But its cool to actually see that the devs really went out of their ally to add that despite it needing a little more work
Loved the original, quietly pessimistic about this one since the demo raised quite a few concerns related to both gameplay and performance, thank you for the review I think I'll sit on the fence for a little bit at least.
this game is incredibly hard even on normal, i had an extremely hard time with the controller learning curve plus all abilities that you need to master, i feel as it the have thrown a lot of concepts at the player to learn
The 1-hit deaths really keep me from getting into this series. I don't have pitch perfect timing anymore. I'm in my 40's lol, I can't redo the same section over and over until I get it just right. No time for that anymore.

I love this review concept: 3 minute reviews. Who doesn't have three minutes?
Yup, we specifically made them for people who don't have the attention span for 8+ minute reviews! Like me.
thats the same thing the youtube scumbags putting constant ad spots say xD
Me. That's why I watch it at 2x speed
There's not as much time for nuanced analysis, which I kinda miss, but that's not typically the escapist's bag so 🤷♂️.
Good enough!
When I eat dairy, I honestly don't

Thanks for playing KC 😁 Sounds like you had a pretty good time with this one. Hope you and yours are as well as can be man 🙏 Cheers 🍻
It's astounding how much influence Mirror's Edge had on the industry
I want more Mirror's Edge. The focus on free running, and incentive to avoid combat was so fun and well done.
If only it had an influence on EA
It did have some well known devs and cutting edge tech.
@@The_Jovian perfectly encapsulates my feelings, damn you ea
If seen the exact same comment under the IGN review
Are you human?

@apexiw unironically, at times it felt more stressful than the first game (especially with the dismantler fight)
@@apexiw you can still perfect time a parry to deflect bullets

KC is such a good vibes positivity gem - really helps counteract the snark The Escapist is more known for
Absolutely loved the 1st one! Happy too hear this one is good too, especially since im holding off on 2077 til next year.
I love when developers add a plot summary of the first game into the second. (maybe I'll replay the first one?)
I'm halfway through, and I'm having a blast. It's way bigger than the first game an much more fun.
Do you guys think that the Brutal edition is worth it or just the base edition?
Base game always, the dlc can be bought later always
So Mirror's Edge meets Genji from Overwatch. I could get down with that.
Soo excited for this! I loved the first one, and everyone seems to be saying this ones even better.
I couldn't finish THE TUTORIAL in ghostrunner 1.
Did you play with mouse and keyboard or controller? I tried controller and it was awful. Beat the game with mouse and keyboard
Well, then welcome to Kotaku!
get the super secret game journalist mode unlock then
I feel I missed out on the first game. Glad the second seems like a worthy sequel. Great video!
How playable are the controls on console controllers?
KC reviews a lot of skill heavy games, bloody hell!
Played the first one and can't wait for this.
This sounds like a lot of fun !
Looks cyber interesting!

Yea I'm not sure how I feel about stamina for deflects or anything really in such a fast-paced game.
Imagine if Sekiro had a stamina bar.
GOTY for me, simply a masterpiece
I still havent beaten the first one because im terrible at it, but i will defiantly buy the 2nd to encourage more games by them
it still has easy/story mode wuh
I was terrible at first game, but in it good balance. Only bosses difficult, but still not very
@@orgaxthe only difficult boss was TOM, the game was hard in general but Mara and Hel were easy

Wait this game only costs $40? That’s crazy
Loved the first game.
Mario has some odd but great grandkids heheh
Love me some Titanfall Miami.
We have Ghostrunner 1 at home:
I hope I won't get motion sickness on this one. The first game makes me dizzy despite everything I've tried.
So what's your rating for the game then.....??/10
Nice

its not about the age, memorize the pattern to dodge each enemy and it doesn't become a game of reaction
@@OCON. I don't have time for games that require a huge time dump to learn and memorize stuff like that.
This looked incredible until you mentioned death in one hit, I do not have the patience for a game where you die so easily…
You respawn instantly and the checkpoints are generous.
Just use a trainer to get a chill ott bad ass experience without the irritation of constant death and respawn.
nice
It's definitely one of the games of this year.
The Ghostrunner games are so insanely lame, does the tool with the sword have to run around with it hanging out, or is it a sexual thing?
