About the film:
In July I spent nearly two weeks exploring the more remote parts of Padjelanta National Park with my camera. I used a packraft to be able to travel more freely on the lakes and cross some rivers that would be impossible on foot.
I hope this film can convey the feeling of being alone out there in this beautiful part of the Swedish mountains. I want to say a special thanks to those of you who are supporting my work over at my website. You make this possible!

Fantastik fim, som alltid. Nyfiken på vad du vandrar i för skor. Har du något vattentätt eller du bara accepterar att du har blöta skor/fötter? =) Mitt största bekymmer när jag är ute är att hantera vattendragen.
The land Magnus highlights is impressive in its austere simplicity. I love the "simple" scenes, the plant (8:11), the flowers (11:20), the stream close-up (11:32), etc. Magnus has a wonderful eye for these locations. I've been meaning to ask if a hiker in Sweden needs to be aware of animals with sharp teeth. Here in Canada, we carry bear spray just in case. It looks like mosquitos are the worst you can encounter?
Must have been a great feeling when the mist lifted! Padjelanta region is beautiful, maybe not quite so dramatic as the sharp mountains to the east but still very impressive. Your video is almost like being there.. thanks!
Thanks a lot! It is. I love the vastness of it but it can be hard to capture it with the camera and it requires some special light to really shine IMO. But when it does, it's truly beautiful. Not to mention the feeling of traveling through it with a packraft!
@@MagnusLindbom I know what you mean...looking at staggering landscape, and just not being able to capture it in photos because it is just so big :) And without nice light and some contrasts, all photos just turn out flat. I was there in ... 2016 I think, perhaps it would be time for a second visit.
@@exposedpaths Yeah, I think that is a problem no matter if a vast landscape or a mountainous one. Beautiful landscapes doesn't always translate into good photographs. But I love the challenge of going places that you don't really know what you will get. Padjelanta is one of those. You definitely should do a revisit!
another superb video, Magnus, Seems you have mastered the fuji video. That packraft seems handy. Do you use the same tent in Winter?
Thank you! I have started recording in F-Log and that has given better dynamic range and colors. And a bit more life-like feel. I don’t use this tent in winter except for occasional shorter trips around treeline.
Great films. Have been making solo trips to Padjelanta for the last few years- usually end of August to avoid mosquitoes. Have thought about taking a boat. How was it for weight and on the rougher days? Which model?
Hi Peter! Thank you. The packraft is made by Alpacka Rafts and the model is called Yukon Yak, now renamed as Classic. It works good and while it's not super fast to paddle it does the job. Always a problem with the wind though.

Tack Jeppe! Ja, det jag fick ligger i mitten av filmen runt 9 minuter. Det var lite skralt med bildfångst denna gång så det fick handla lite mer om resan än "målet".
Det er da en del af historien/filmen ! Nogen gange får man ikke noget med hjem, hvilket er helt fint….part of the game
