I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY to see Björn again! In ca. 2001 I went to Sarek and Padjelanta (not on the Kungsleden) with my girlfriend for 3 weeks and he was our ferryman back then, showing us some great spots in the delta along our way. So cool! Thank you so much for sharing.
It reminds me of my hikes through Kungsleden. 2005 July from Japan I started Kungsleden hiking from Abisko to Nikkaluikta, 2006 July from Amnarnäs to Hemavan, also I enjoyed Nordic ski in Tänndalen in 2006 February. They were my first long distance hiking alone in my early fifties. Now maybe I am too old to hike through Kungsleden again but I would like to fly to Sweden in the near future.
Wow, this is not only the best guide of the Kungsleden on UA-cam, but also the best hiking video I've ever watched. Perfect combination of practical info and advice, with personal feelings and experience. Of course with beautiful scenery of swedish mountains! I hiked Kungsleden in 2022 and wish I had seen this before, then maybe I would not have missed kayaking in Stora Sjöfallet! And for other people watching, don't miss the side trip up to Skierfe! It was one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen. Thanks for this perfect video!
Your guide advice is excellent, your video is spectacular, and your thoughts about the trail are heartfelt and honest. You capture the feeling of walking the trail so perfectly. A great training video for any long distance walk, but especially the experience of Kungsleden. Outstanding.
Absolutely compelling guide, beautifully filmed and edited. While specifically about the magic of Kungsleden, it's also a hymn to the wilderness, and the challenge and rewards of getting out and surrendering to it all. It deserves many more views. Bravo, and thank you!
Great job! I really appreciated this video. Lots of useful information and an exciting tour of the Kungsleden. Thank you. I will definitely do it next year.
Riktigt bra film! Informativ och mycket bra tips och vackert filmat 👏🏻 vill helt klart gå Kungsleden och se all vacker natur och ta mig an utmaningarna på leden. Grymt jobbat 👏🏻
WOW!! What a beautifully scripted, narrated and produced movie. Furthermore what a wonderful, humble and beautiful person at the heart of it all. This is an outstanding piece of work. Thank you so much. 5 Star +++ 👌
What a wonderful movie you've made, Linda. I've hiked 2 sections of Kungsleden before and plan to hike the entire stretch from Hemavan to Abisko this summer. Your movie has helped me prepare and made me excited for this grand adventure. Thank you!
Hej Linda, best advertising to hike the kungsleden I have seen. Great impressions of the nature of the north of europe. Really well done. Congratulation
Thanks for this. It affirms our group's aim to hike part of the Kungsleden and some more remote nearby trails early this September. Appreciate the insightful content in your video!
What a beautiful movie and what a high quality. We looking forward to the hike in the summer and the movie we will make on our own. Thanks again for this movie👍
Thank you so much for this video. It is by far the most comprehensive one I've come across. Also, great is listening to the pronunciation of the places. I plan to do this in 2025
I am watching your video right now. And the advices help me a lot! I am going to hike the Kungsleden in August/September. I am really excited about that! Thanks for making this video!
This is a very good guide, really happy you made it! I like the honesty and insights it shows. Explaining the trip and what it's like but also leaving out some things to discover. I have only experience from the part between Vakkotavare and Abisko but i have done it 3 years in a row, both alone and with diferent friends. The experience is different each time but still amazing. I am now motivated to do the rest of the trail!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it! Vakkotavare - Abisko is a really nice stretch. If you ask me, better than Nikkakuokta - a Abisko 😊 Hope you will enjoy the rest of the trail! 😉
Thanks a lot for putting in so much of time and effort, it's a great service. Content is very well thought, planned, edited and overall it's a great job. What more i can say ❤
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and thoughts of Kungsleden. Beautiful images and story telling. I'm really looking forward to hiking the Kungsleden together with my wife next year, also from south to north. Your video just makes me wanna start right away 🙂
Thanks for this beautiful and informative video, the best i have seen out there in many categories. Well produced and very inspiring! That beer... I could imagine, since i had a great feeling sipping on a 50Kr 3,5% in the sun at Kebnekaise Fjällstation after only hiking from Nikka, skål! 😂🍺🙌
Hej vad vacker video!!!
Really nice video this. I'll be doing only the classic northern bit (100km) of this hike in a couple of weeks but really glad I stumbled up on this video, super nice advices, very helpful too! Maybe I'll comment again if and when I do it!
I‘ve Never Seen a guiding Video about kungsleden before. But if i would be planing the Trip, this would be „the Video“ to Watch. Absolut Great Job with all the Informations. What a awesome scenery out there, especially around Sarek. One day i have to go there. Ok, thank you very much for Sharing, and by the way….your eyes are wooow ✌️
You are the best video blogger.. 👍👌Appreciate your efforts and Well Done 👏 I always wanted to hike in Kungsleden, this video inspired me again and gave me high motivation boost 🙌
Like you did I think it is better to start in Hemavan. The end in Abisko is sooo great. PS: for Kebnekaise, there's of cours a not official trail West direct from the Kungsleden. It's a full long day to go and return. Must be fit and experienced. Carrying a distress beacon recommended. And indeed the Kebnekaise North is only to be done in good conditions with crampons. I did it with micro spikes buthad superb conditions of ice.
Exactly. Both the "western route" and the "eastern route" starts from Kebnekaise mountain station, as stated in the film 👍 If interested in summiting, I would recommend to watch my film/guide about the climb here at UA-cam.
I have walked the Kungsleden when the water was high as stated in teh video around 8:45 - 09:00. The dtips I have gotten from people from the huts all around was: "Do NOT take off your shoes. The rocks can be very sharp and can ruin your hike." When I was there, crossed the water with our hiking boots (High Gore-Tex boots) by standing on the high pitched rocks and kept our balance with our hiking sticks. I was the only one (group of 4) who got 1 foot wet. It was miserable, but doable. I wouldn't want to take the risk on hurting my foot (or losing my slipper) by crossing the water. Please keep this in mind for your 2nd ord 3rd day or on the last days when you are finishing the trail. Also, 0,5L water is mostly enough for a normal person. I a 189cm, 98kg male I took a 1,0L Nalgene bottle. That was in most cases enough water for me. A water bladder would have been nice, but was not necessary.
I think the best way to tell the length is to tell the full length like I did, as no use of motors, only human power. Then subtract the distances that are not walked, like the rowing/ferry.bus. Full length = 470 km / optional bus taken on the road = 30 km / Sum of the rowing (I paddled all 7 lakes by packraft) = 18.2km / So the walking and taking the bus = 421.8 km,of course there at least 1 boat crossing anyone must do (300m) so we have 422 km and this is near the 425 km you mention. All the detailed GPX available even the Skierfe or Kebnekaise sidetrip.
Still watching this in sections. Such a good video with great information and tips. Including the lovely Swedish pronunciation of the names! I’ve trekked and skied a lot around the northern section including the Norway huts just across the border. One small point. You diid mention charging batteries at one nice hut. But I find even the northern manned huts have no charging. Do you carry several spare batteries? This mainly a problem skiing, as the cold drains batteries so quickly! Thank for your efforts with this incredibly useful and beautiful video.
Wow, I can only imagine how much effort went into this! And we can watch it for free!!! Not sure everyone on here who watches but doesnt give a thumbs up realizes it!! Thank you so much! I´m thinking of doing the Kungsleden South to North next year solo as a woman and Im a bit apprehensive about not having phone coverage in case of emergency. At the same time, thats obviously normal in remote areas....Is there coverage in the southern sections? I also wonder how do you call to get a boat if there is no reception.... Thanks in advance for your answer in case you have time :)
Thanks a lot for the video! I walked from Abisko to Vakkotavare in August 2022 in a group and i would like to continue on my own. I would like to know which tent you had with you. Sadly i do not hear you mentioning the name and i can not get it from zooming in ;). I am still searching for a tent for Kungsleden as my current one will not stand the wind. Thanks for a short answer! ps. With your words on how a tour has its ups and downs you SO MUCH hit the thoughts in my mind from all the treks i did. it is soo nice to watch the video and also sent it to friends to make them get a glympse into the atmosphere :).
Thank you! As Diadras mention it is the Big Agnes: Copper Spur HV UL2. It is the best tent I have ever had! (And I have tried a lot) For rain it is outstanding, but I haven't test it in winds harder than 10-15 m/s. But I heard that people has good experience with that as well. The tent poles are very "bendy" so instead of breaking they are designed to "fold" in the wind and then stand up again.
What an inspiring movie! I am planning to set off in a few weeks time as well and gathering a lot of information from your story :) Thank you so much! May I ask why you chose to go South to North?
Hej Linda! Igen, stort tack! / Claes
Åh men vad fint, tack!
Thank you! It’s a pair of Lo from Lundhags. I also have the Laka model from Lundhags if I know the weather will be really bad but they are a bit heavier so on longer hikes I prefer the Lo model.

Great video and footage and great inspiration. I'm considering to do the full trail in 2026, but doubting to do this on my own. Any suggestion on guided tours or forums where other people looking for somebody to do the hike together?
Hi greeting from Malaysia. This is fantastic video. Really appreciate you put in so much effort of making this sharing. I just have one question, do we need to worry about bear or other predator animal risk?
This is why UA-cam had to be invented! So beautifully filmed and commented.
Hands down the best video guide on the Kungsleden! Well done, Linda!

A great video. I did the north half a few years ago.
Beautiful movie and respect for finnishing the trail! I only believe it could have been much less torment by choosing less and lighter gear!
Hej vad vacker video!!!

You are the best video blogger.. 👍👌Appreciate your efforts and Well Done 👏
I always wanted to hike in Kungsleden, this video inspired me again and gave me high motivation boost 🙌
Very interesting .
One of the best films describing the beuty of Lappland…
Underbar film!!😊
Tack!
Exactly. Both the "western route" and the "eastern route" starts from Kebnekaise mountain station, as stated in the film 👍
If interested in summiting, I would recommend to watch my film/guide about the climb here at UA-cam.
Bravo! Beautiful! Homages! 🧚🏻♂️🧚🏻♂️🧚🏻♂️ JAR
Thank you!
I have walked the Kungsleden when the water was high as stated in teh video around 8:45 - 09:00. The dtips I have gotten from people from the huts all around was: "Do NOT take off your shoes. The rocks can be very sharp and can ruin your hike."
When I was there, crossed the water with our hiking boots (High Gore-Tex boots) by standing on the high pitched rocks and kept our balance with our hiking sticks.
Riktigt bra!!!
Tack!!
Great job and well explained!
Snyggt!!✨✨
Tack! :D
soo inspiring
Found it for you; Big Agnes: Copper Spur HV UL2
Good luck on your hike :)
Its 600 euros, which is too expensive for me at the moment :P
/
Claes
Åh men vad fint, tack!
Hei! Beautiful video, thank you! I wanted to ask you what is the brand/name of the rain pants you had? They look so good and pracitcal! Thanks!
Thank you! It’s a pair of Lo from Lundhags. I also have the Laka model from Lundhags if I know the weather will be really bad but they are a bit heavier so on longer hikes I prefer the Lo model.
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤Thank you ❤️ Subscribed! New friend ❤️ 🧡

very very nice video
Wow what an amazing movie. Which sleeping bag did you use during this hike?
Hi! I use a Raphsody 15°F (-9C) from NEMO equipment. The model is old, but they have similar updates.
51:13 So true !
Indeed :)
Can you please tell me roughly when did you start / end ? Thank you so much, the video was exceptional!
Hej, vilken suverän film, väldigt informativ!! Vilka boots använder du här i filmen?
