    For those that know and respect the mountains, your video is great to just enjoy. Felt for you that the mist and rain got in the way of both your aims and photography quite a bit. But still some great views at the end. But as you say, a long time, and Sarek is so remote. But 30kg, wow! I have ski toured around the Sweden and Norway areas just to the North (around the North part of Kungsleden), and love that. But I have looked at the Sarek map, and would love to tour there. But with ski touring , I can take a small pulk for a lot of the weight! Thanks for making such a nice video.

    • @MagnusLindbom
      @MagnusLindbom  3 роки тому

      Thank you Bill for the comment! Yes, ski touring can be somewhat easier but it depends on the snow conditions. I had to work pretty hard pulling the pulk in deep snow on my latest ski tour. ;)

    I really enjoyed this video. I am English but I love your part of the world and will be coming back next year ( if the dreaded Covid 19 rules allow me to) hopefully to Sarek and Padjelanta. This video also did something for me on a profound level though. I've been hiking and trekking for a long time (I am 63 next Spring) both with a partner and on my own. When I've trekked alone I have felt lonely sometimes but I've never been able to admit to myself never mind to anyone else. Your honesty in this instance has made it possible for me to do this and so I thank you for this. Happy hiking and if I ever see you out in the mountains I'll offer you something I always bring with me from Scotland and which I carry in a flask!

    Hi Magnus. Deep respect for the huge effort you put into your filming and photography. The views on the lighted clouds from the peak were very dramatic. I guess, that is the reward for your patience out there. (By the way: 17 days alone in nature were a fantastic plan for this pandemie summer. I envy you.) In all I like the calm mood of your film very much, even the music - which often spoils other outdoor videos - is chosen sensitively. Good job.

    Härligt att du gjort en lite längre film. Riktigt snyggt. Bra filmat, bra klippt, grymma bilder och skönt tempo.

      Hej Matti! Tack för kommentaren. Superkul att du gillade filmen och upplägget. Det var helt klart en utmaning att göra något lite längre.
      Jag har kollat på Patreon men valde att sätta upp en egen Supporter-sida på min hemsida. Det ger lite mer möjligheter i vad jag kan lägga upp och hur jag kan utforma det hela. Men tack för tipset, det uppskattas! 👍🙏

    Greetings from Czechia. Wonderful video. In 2021 I was hiking in Sarek with my daugter and my cousin, in Sarvesvagge we met a man named Magnus. We were all wet after crossing Gaskavagge in heavy rain. Is it a pure coincidence?

      Tack Alexander! Kul att du tycker det! När jag lämnade Padjelanta gick jag in i Sarek via Sarvesvagge och Jiegnavagge. Jag tillbringade mycket tid i trakterna kring Luohtolahko som du kan se i filmen.

      @@scribandi Härligt! Visst är det fina områden - platån är magisk! Jag tror att du nog hade det lite grönare än vad jag hade. Men det finns ju en skönhet i de mer sterila och snötäckta landskapen också! ;)

    Technology-supported loneliness. The movie seems ot me a little artificial, but nice. I mean - for the sake of getting the picture of nature that meets some contemporary advertisement esthethics the nature itself gets over-interpreted. Note, that the raw wind sounds better than the characterless music and foggy, mysterious skies look better than just another crystal clean and candy landscape.

    carrying 30kG is on mountain vs on flat land is totally different. Its like carrying 40kg on flat land even tho there is less gravitational pull. I remember hiking to my village back in nepal which stands around 2000M from the sea level. I have hiked to around 400 metre high mountain pass while searching for Cordycep seinesis and it was one of my best experiences ever.

      Hi Palden! Thank you for the comment. As you say terrain and altitude makes a huge difference. There’s something about making your way up a mountain carrying heavy equipment. Your leg hurts but your soul is thirving right?!

      @@MagnusLindbom so we had to carry over 30kg approx with the likes of foods, tents, weapon, blankets, cooking 🍳 etc so to climb upward its exhausting as hell, you are breathing in air 2 or 3 times in matter of a second. It feels kinda torturing carrying all those maybe its because I was only 16-17 years old.. but to be up there and set up camp and next day just to hike up higher towards 4500m again everyday is like death of motivation and hope when you get back to your rent after 8+ hours of hiking and collecting cordyceps...

      @@Paldentseringsherpa I haven't been hiking higher than just above 2000 meters (highest mountains here in Sweden) so I can't really imagine how you feel at 4000 m+. Sounds like you experienced some hardships there but also a lot of good memories. Not uncommon that those two are linked together! ;)

      Yeah, the first videos are pretty bad though. You know I’m a photographer dipping my feet into the film world. 😉
      The UltaMid is a great tent but when camping on mountains in very exposed terrain I choose the Soulo. It is much easier to make a good pitch in that terrain and also the inner adds warmth and protection from sharp rocks.

    Thank you for your film! Very good video directing and excellent views! I am from Russia and also hike solo in wilderness. I would recommend you to have a look on a serie of films made by Marina Galkina - she is a world champion in rogaine. In 2018 she crossed alone Chukotka, this is a very far and wild region in north-east Russia, solo and without any technical help. It took her about 2.5 months for that. Her films are in Russian language, however they have English subtitiles. This film has 22 series.
