Have had the greatest pleasure of meeting Louis and staying at his comfortable, casual eco-hotel. What he has accomplished in terms of conservation for Playa Grande and surrounding area is wonderful. Hats' off to you Louis! Share this!

      Bendiciones Pura Vida amiga ✌️😊👍

So incredibly amazing. My kids and I stayed at your beautiful place. It made our experience in Costa an unforgettable. We loved the monkeys swinging by the pool in the morning.

Truly an ex-pat pioneer from the "early days".. Many moons ago, I along with several others were partners in Casa Azul (the tiles on the roof are blue)..a beach house within walking distance from the main town of Tamarindo..when dirt roads were the commonplace.
Returned last year November/2013..and was really surprised at the Americanization of Tamarindo by Norte Americanos..too many folks from the States which have changed the environment (both social and physical) to the negative.
Guys like the fellow and his wife who are opposed to blank construction and the desecration of the natural environment are perhaps only a few who stand behind the ideology of preservation of this really unique place.
I supposed it is hard to stop "progress"..but, those in power should know that once "it is gone"..it is gone forever. Enjoy it now.

i don't want to sound rude but as a costarican is so funny how this guy is taking all the credit for protecting the nature on that side of my country and we were the ones destroying it, not the tourism with their big hotels and stuff 🙄
come on this is Costa Rica number one country in the world in protecting the nature but i really really appreciate from my heart that this guy is helping us i really really appreciate it i wish all the tourism comes with same attitude god bless this guy just don't take all the credit for yourself 😆
    love from Costa Rica 🇨🇷

Costa Rica is a great place to live - if you stay out of the main cities. The natural environment is gorgeous, and for the main part unspoiled. Advice to would-be expats: (1) LEARN SPANISH ! If not, you will never be accepted. (2) RESPECT your hosts - you are a GUEST in THEIR country. (3) ADAPT - CR is NOT the USA. If you just can't do without US trappings, then do NOT move !

I have no idea why Louis Wilson would plant an African Almond tree (Terminalia catalpa) in his park. Introduced species are a huge problem in so many regions. But that aside he is well intentioned and seems to have made a difference in Tamarindo.

I thought that too. It's important to leave plants and wildlife in their natural setting.

I seem to have a problem watching these Reserve Channel episodes. Am I the only one? I love the settings, but am finding that Savannah Jane Buffett is the most amazing part of the show. She seems to make the whole experience somehow more alive. Maybe I'm just smitten. That seems most likely.
