Way in switch Gang in switch and SP DP Pole Difference in electrical switches

I'm looking for a 2 way double pole switch to replace the current one but there seem to only be single pole 2 way or 1 way double pole, any reason why someone would have used a 2 way double pole switch, when it is only 1 switch that controls the lights.
It's part of a 8 gang grid

hi ! i bought a 2 gang 2 way switch but instead of seeing "COM" or Common, i see only L12, L11, L21 and L22 (along with the normal L1 and L2. Please help!

The L is the same as a common on that switch it stands for load
