You should supply the the circuit from the downstairs fuse by taking a twin and cpc from the downstairs light to the upstairs light ,a twin brown and cpc from the upstairs light to the upstairs 2 way switch and taking a 3 core and cpc from your upstairs swith to your downstairs switch,and a twin brown and cpc from your down stairs light to your downstairs switch ,that would be good electrical practice and I know it's rare but I have worked on very large properties where because of the amount of equipment on the property they had the incomer changed from single phase to 3 phase and in those circumstances with your method it would be possible to end up with 2 phases at the downstairs switch unless the electrician made sure both circuits where put on the same phase so I think the method I have shown is better electrical practice under both circumstances

Hi ya mate, so the situation with my house is that the ground floor switch (two gang for the light upstairs as shown in this video) has two cables of three cores with one gray, one black, and one brown for each switch... Is this normal?
Hi GSH. Thank you for your knowledge. It will make me a better sparky. Recently I changed a double socket to a chrome one. I turned off the mcb like I've always done and I got a nasty shock wiring up the new socket. Why is that? I called the council and the electrician didn't have a clue.
You sure you turned the right circuit off? Always check with a lamp or something that the socket is off. You might have two socket circuits and only turned one off. Or someone has made that socket a spur from another circuit, which is naughty.
Can you not feed the live from the CU into comms, then using twin and earth L1 into L2 and L2 into L1, comms on the second switch is then wired to the light? Saves using 3 core cable
Yes you can, but you still need a 3Core+E cable in order to 'loop thru' your Switched-Live. Otherwise how would you "spilt open" the 2Core+E cable to feed into two(2) different Switch Locations??🤔 Remember we are Not using PVC Singles cables (in conduits) here…
