WOWZERS!!! That ship is massive! We went in a cruise on the Enchantment of the seas in 2019. She was a beauty and the first cruise we had ever been on. We had the best time of our lives. Since of covid we were going to go on the Independence then, that got cancelled. We then booked another cruise on the Symphony and that got cancelled too. We just booked a cruise on the Wonder of the seas for next year of July. We are so excited! Thanks for sharing!!!
The first of the class (oasis) take about two years for built. And 8 of design stage! (Formally 5 years of design stage, but they have 3 years before this in making the concept of design and research of materials, process, spaces and ideas for this class) But the others including the wonder take around one year and a half. This is possible because so much of the proceses involved is automaticed, and they reuse process and experience and equipment from the others ships smaller but simmilar builds before the oasis class (like the freedom class).
From the video, it looks like you were our neighbor. We were on the same cruise on Brilliance of the Seas. Maybe you heard about the old guy who tripped over something on the dock and fell flat on his face. That old dude be me! I was taking a photo of Wonder and then...on my face!
Thanks for posting this particular footage. For as much as I have taken about 17 cruises in the past, it's the first time I have seen what the ground crew does when a ship is docking in port. Usually, I am either sleeping during that time or just getting up for breakfast, and so am never on my balcony to see this aspect.
Been on Oasis, Majesty, Harmony, Mariners, Anthem after the shut down, Enchantment 2 times(love the small ships to) and getting ready to go on Visions May 25th 2023.
It's amazing how people can crowd onto these contraptions for fun. I am a U.S. Navy veteran, and I don't ever remember being afraid on those ships because everyone aboard had a job to perform to keep the ship afloat at all times, but these things (as proven by the wreck of the Concordia cruise ship in 2012) when all the crew were trying to get off the ship and left the guest to defend for themselves. These things are just too large .
@@rhodetrip6898 never said anything about the ship in any kind of seas, I was saying that in an emergency (and they do happen), the crew is not trained in safety for the passengers and that is understandable since they come aboard to serve and entertain. The Concordia was the captains fault but the crew didn't help anyone but themselves. These things are to large period.
Was this done with a vlog capable camera. Excellent clarity. We embark on Wonder of the Seas April 1st. Cruise #16. PUMPED about this one. Texas out! 👊🏻🤙🏻
Great video. Was this a trial run and test to see how she would tie up at Coco Cay? Wonder is a bit longer than Oasis and Allure. Great video again, thanks.
Yes I know. The recording wasn't originally intended for public consumption and I was recording footage for personal use. But after reviewing it, and despite it's less than Oscar-quality I'd share it. Surprisingly it's been very popular. I guess there's a lot of people, like myself, who are fascinated by the mundane going's-on of cruise ships. Thank you for your input and safe travels!
You see these massive ships in review videos but seeing it here on the pier is another level entirely. Thanks for sharing!
You’re quite welcome!

Aloha. We just got off the Freedom . Pls check out our channel and thanks for watching and subscribing 🛳🏝❤️
Our pleasure!
Wife and I were just on the Wonder last week! She's a massive ship! I can see why it takes 3 years to build a ship of this magnitude!
Pretty amazing! I've sailed on Oasis a couple of times and really am amazed by how efficient these massive ships are.
It actually only really takes one year steel cutting might be 3 but from coin ceremony probably only a 1 1/2 years

I thought I had replied to this…but apparently not. It was recorded with my iPhone 13. Amazing quality from those things.

Don’t move your camera too much when shooting video. Very disturbing.
