In the HGSS version, they gave the Rocket Executives names (Proton, Petrel, Arianna, and Archer). Also in the remake, Lance assisted in a double battle... With a lvl 40 Dragonite! Bigger proof that he is a cheater.
Now we need to figure out how Red's Pikachu somehow lost 7 levels in SM
Not really for all we know he may have caught it in the wild just like the level 9 pidgeotto, or the level 10 Gyrados's in the lake of rage. Its a different Red all together as S/M don't take place in the same Universe as Gen 1-5 so thats why his Pikachu Is weaker its not the same variation of the character.

Lance is just a straight up murderer, I've seen Hyper Beam in the anime I've seen what it can do and Dragonite shot it point blank. Then again after seeing what he did to Vermilion City in the Manga i shouldn't have been surprised

I mean, the animation is just Dragonite tackling the guy for some reason, even in the remakes. So clearly Lance's definition of "Hyper Beam" is different from ours.
Smug Sneasel the Elite Four controlled multiple Pokémon armies (Lorelei had a Water/Ice Pokémon army, Bruno had a Fighting/Rock Pokémon army and Agatha had a Poison/Ghost Pokémon army), which they used to raid cities as they searched for the gym badges they needed.
Imposter is a Hidden Ability that's unique to Ditto.
And a Imposter Ditto as Johnny and Matt said, transforms at the start of battle, removing the need to waste a turn using the move transforme.
Thanks to this ability, Ditto gained more use since if your opponent has a strong pokemon with a bunch of stats buffs, Ditto WILL transform into the pokemon in question with the stats buffs.
This makes Ditto a fun pokemon to use just to see if you can beat your opponent at his game.
Fun fact: Ditto is the easiest pokemon to EV grind since the only EV that matters to Ditto is the HP EV. All the others EV don't matter since Ditto will just copy the opponent's stats except the HP stat.
People act surprised when the dude survives Lance's Dragonite's Hyper Beam, but honestly I'm not surprised or impressed.
You ever watch the anime? Ash has survived Thunderbolt and Flamethrower dozens of time, James has been eaten/hugged by a few of his pokemon over the years. Hell team Rocket has survived explosions countless times before.
Maybe they aren't supposed to be immortal in the Pokemon games...

Def of the target when it is *used,* not when it *hits* (it lands on the third turn after use). It also can't land a crit and its damage isn't increased by Life Orb, it's also not affected by Protect, Detect or Endure. However, a Pokémon holding a Focus Band or Focus Sash can survive Future Sight.
it was also during the generations of 2,3, and 4, future sight was able to hit dark pokemon regardless of immunity, example in gen 4 azelf with nasty plot + future sight a combination to battle against that it nearly one shot spiritombs to death. the hardest to catch ever.
Remember in Heartgold/SoulSilver where you had a Rocket disguise but jackass took it off you? Good times...
15:31 The Rocket Executive who appears here is replaced by Executive Petrel in the remakes. Petrel is regarded as Team Rocket’s master of disguise, and he even disguises himself as Giovanni when you first meet him here. His team is the exact same as it was here: a Zubat, Koffing, and Raticate.

Instead of just learning the password from the bird, HGSS actually have the Murkrow fly off after Petrel escapes, mimicking his voice. You chase it down to the next floor, and it actually opens the door for you.
So, apparently Elliot comes up with those memes whenever the protagonist is raiding the Yakuza hideout... that means he's going to come up with TWO memes in Emerald, because there are two evil organizations, each one with its own base. :D
According to Bulbapedia, Future Sight from Gen 2 up to Gen 4 calculates damage against the target's Sp. Def on the turn it's selected, not when it hits. Meaning that if it's initially selected against something that has piss poor Sp. Def like a Golem, and then the opponent switches to a special tank like Blissey or Snorlax, that Blissey or Snorlax is taking a ton of damage. Future Sight up until Gen 5 also deals typeless damage, so even though it's described as a Psychic move, it can hit Dark types. The downside, however, is that it doesn't get STAB. And it's weaker than Psychic and can't crit on top of that, so it's no wonder nobody uses the move. The only remotely useful thing about it is that it can hit through Wonder Guard, something all forms of indirect damage like Sandstorm or Toxic can do anyway, so it's still not really useful.
By the way, see those three red pixels around Machoke's mouth in its back sprite? That's blood. And now you can never unsee it.

I always took it that the move explode isn't the Pokemon literally blowing up, but the Pokemon releasing explosive energy from within them. It hurts, but is not lethal. It most likely sounds like a stupid explanation, but that's what I understood it as.

I remember when I was just about to reach level 100 for the first time. It was my Charizard in Fire Red. Didn't come to be though.
I had a friend over and we were battling and he just lost for the 3rd time. I went to bathroom and when I got back he had deleted and saved over my game. Needless to say, we're not friends anymore. Real sore loser that one.

To elaborate on the alarms, each alarm statue can only be triggered once, and they chain together exactly 2 trainers. They're the same Rockets every single time, though, so when you face one set, you've faced all 5 sets.

The item is called Metal Powder and you get it from trading ditto from gen1 to gen2. In gen4 they also introduce Quick Powder. In gen4 and probably onward it's 50% for Quick Powder and 5% for Metal Powder. Metal Powder increases Ditto's def and sp def by 50% and Quick Powder increases it's speed is doubled.
It was Stadium II that gave Surge's Raichu Surf... and I hated it too. He also had a Lanturn with Ice Beam to counter Dragonite.
It was in Stadium 1. I know this for a fact, because I used Dugtrio against his Raichu. My Dugtrio used dig, and then I saw the most glorious animation of all time.... Raichu surfing on its tail.... and missing.
Matt, I think Future Sight can attack the opposing Pokemon even if the Pokemon who used the move has fainted (so long as it is 3rd turn). That's probably why Will of the Elite Four can catch you off guard with that move. I don't know, however, if Future Sight was nerfed in later Gens. I do know that it ignores Wonder Guard.

its a steel type move and the only pokemon that learns it is Jirachi (steel/psychic) which also can learn future sight as well, aside from smeargle being able to sketch the move.
Imposter is Ditto's hidden ability in later gens, with the normal ability being limber, that basically let ditto transform into its foe as soon as it was sent out, thus eliminating the need to use transform and waste a turn.
Better question about Selfdestruct and Explosion is "How do they channel the explosion to be external?"
That said, putting some thought into it, I imagine what happens in battle is akin to Unit 00 in "Evangelion" running up to the Angel Zeruel and detonating the nuke she was carrying point-blank. Imagining any Pokemon doing that is kind of horrifying.
Ditto's ability which causes it to transform the moment the battle begins is Gen V and onward. Imposter (its signature ability) is also its hidden ability.

Imposter is dittio's hidden ability. It lets it transform immediately without needing to use transform. Give it a nice hold item and you can make it work in competitive. Ditto's HP are the only thing do not change but it copies all of the stats and stat changes on its opponent.
Imposter: the pokémon impersonates the last Pokémon in your lineup.

Thief is best used in conjunction with the compound eyes ability which has a hidden effect of jacking up the chance a wild Pokemon has a held item . A ROM hack by Pokemon Reborn takes advantage of that as your only means to get heart scales is to either steal them off Luvdisc (60%) or hope you get lucky with pickup. Pokemon with items help in general especially with the trade ones, they usually come with the exact item they need to evolve. Also they made Ariana, the female rocket exec, more chubby in later depictions to set her apart her from the standard femme fatales, that really help as she looks just like Mars from the Sinnoh games before they made her fat

Imposter Ditto is basically a Ditto that transforms the second it comes out without wasting a move.
Taking on the Team Rocket base in Mahogany Town, yeah! Plus Dragonite using Hyper beam on a person and they're just fine

Grimer and Muk have good Special Defense and Attack. Basically, as much as I hate to admit, if you can kill them in one hit you've got nothing to worry about. If you don't, well... heh. It learns Minimize early for a reason. It also can learn Acid Armor and Screech. And then it could cause misery with Sludge Bomb prior to Gen 4.
And then Gen 4 happened and Muk lost its ability to actually have physical attacks with STAB, barring using the Poison Jab TM on it or Praying that Gunk Shot would actually hit for once. And then they make the Alolan form, a goddamn rainbow abomination that Has everything normal-version Muk should've gotten; A Dark secondary type to counteract the Psychics and naturally having normal Muk's HIDDEN Ability, Poison Touch, to let all physical moves it can use have a chance of inflicting Poison.
No, I don't like the Alolan form. It looks horrible and it has the audacity to be better than the original in every damn way. WHY THE FUCK DOES IT HAVE TEETH.

I remember playing through this dungeon in HeartGold. The first pokemon I encountered in the colored floors was a shiny Geodude. And do you know what happened next? It self-destructed!
I always thought of Selfdestruct and Explosion like Vegeta's "suicide" attack: the Pokémon just converts all of its remaining stamina into energy and unleashes it in the form of an explosion.
I miss how good Selfdestruct and Explosion were before Gen V, where even special attackers like Gengar and Heatran could pack it and take Blissey with them when she came in to wall them. :/
The ability to Transform instantly with Imposter was a life changer for Ditto, since it no longer had to worry as much about its poor defenses and Speed before Transformation.
Just look out for Substitutes, though, since you can't Transform on a Pokémon that's behind one, even with Imposter.
That’s gotta be some sturdy material if it can withstand a Hyper Beam.

Self destruct does instant kill to the user but damage the oppent a lot. (Unless ghost which has not been hit by foresight) also do you get exp off Pokemon who use self destruct.
