I had the same problem, but finally chose the trimui, because of the screen. On the anbernic 3,5" there is no way to play psp comfortable for longer than 20 minutes, also DS's both screens fit on the trimui so it's easier to play

I would say Liberty City Stories looks playable but Vice City Stories looks laggy. It's a shame, if this device was a little bit more capable and could play the entire PSP library that would be very impressive.
@@bigretrostudio I heard with Vulkan and also with 1 buffered frame Vice City Stories is a fair bit more playable. I'm really tempted to get the TSP lol edit: I think I'm going to get the Retroid Pocket 2S instead - it's the same price and it's more pocketable and can play more PSP games and even some GameCube games.
@bree5881 rg35xx h for a more compact and pocketable device, Trimui if you want a bigger screen and it's performance is getting better by crossmix os now

Do you think performance can still be improved via software updates on those few laggy games or we are hitting hardware limits here?
I think it did improve after the firmware update, but I don't think it can improve way more than this.
Only the graphic issue games are likely to improve further

Both you can expect similar performance, it only depends on which form factor you prefer.

How did GTA:LCS run at 30 fps? I've tried everything.
Its hard to get consistent fps for GTA:LCS, not the best game to play on this.

How was battery life during the test?
@123ray6 it gets very hot. You can feel it while playing psp games. That's more concerning than how long it lasts.

If you want to back up the roms do it first, then format it, then flash it with the latest firmware. That's it.
