WTF is a bumpside, why do Americans feel the need to call something by a diffrent name for something instead of calling it by it's name like the rest of the world? Probably the same reason they have trouble with metric. It's a UTE FFS! Just can't fix dumb!
My grandparents immigrated from the Netherlands around 1900. They built a House after settling in Eastern South Dakota. My father was born in that house in 1920. After my grandparents passed in 50 and 60, the farm went to my Aunt and her husband. Their oldest then took over as they passed. He then passed it on to his son who now farms it. I was saddened a few years ago when he burned down the beautiful 4 Square that dad was born in in order to build a modern house. My dad was the first son, 6th child, but he went into the CCC's and then the army and never had an interest in going back to the farm though he spoke lovingly of Bess and Mary, the horses he learned to farm with.
Nice to meet you Mr Skinner,,,it was a tradition when ever I dropped the kids to school my wife to work...I would give em words of encouragement..."go show em what Clarks can do". The other day I went with my daughter when she dropped her kids to school,,,she told em all: "go show em what Lockers can do (her married name). My youngest granddaughter who is in first grade said "mom I like it when u say that." Be proud Mr Skinner, your legacy is still being made.
Hey my hubby and I were so excited to see our old high school in Montpelier! We both spent three years there and I spent alot of time on those gym benches during Pep band 🪈🎼 My grandma and grandpa Bartschi also originally settled in Nounan Valley, then moved over to Sharon ID. Small world!
Love all the Skinner Family! Thank You for wanting to get on UA-cam. I have enjoyed all your doings ! Congratulations to Reed and his teammates on the WIN !! WHOO HOO !!!
Actually, Heath, a few years ago there was a heartfelt video about Rhett's friend who had cancer and they were at a gathering and someone introduced Rhett as Rhett Skinner. The cat was out of the bag then, but thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see the reconstruction of the old pioneer cabin. Love your videos from the very beginning. Cheers.
Congratulations Reed and fellow teammates. Well done! My Kindergarten teacher's name was Mrs. Skinner. A sweeter, kinder soul I have never known. She would have been of your great-grandparent's generation. Wishing you and yours a very Happy and Blessed Easter.
If I get to vote, keep the bed, it’s a classic. And thanks for the story about the old woman; we are all family in a way, even if not by genetics, law or intent. Americans. Us.
Congrats to Reed and his team!! Side note, those vintage Corning bowls that you put your nuts in were made 6 miles from my house and I used to work next door to the factory.
Im so glad i watched the video BEFORE reading your comment because if someone reads that without having any idea what you are talking about, they will have questions about what he was doing with a bowl and his nuts!! LOL
Key to keeping an IDI starting; 1.Good battery cables and batteries 2.Electric fuel pump.3.all 8 glow plugs working.4.return line hose and caps sealed good. Thanks Heath, ah Mr. Skinner, for all the IDI entertainment, I love it!
My Grandmother grew up on a farm in Cubriver Id. Married My Grandfather he grew up in Preston, and they raised their family (my father being their only son) in Preston. Its crazy when i hear you speak of places i visited when i was a young, ive heard so many stories from my grandparents and father, they are all passed on now. So it brings a smile to my heart.
I'm excited for you to get the roads (switchbacks) done for the cabin. My favorite video is when the cabin was first built, you're family sitting around the fire and you were singing. Who knew??? Such great memories for yenz... Your friend from PA. Pebs
I really appreciate your knowledge of your genealogy, Heath. Most folks these days are lost beyond their grandparents. I was fortunate enough to know my great grandparents. I was 12 in 1961 when my great grandfather died and my great grandmother died in 1970. That was my mother’s side. To shorten the story, they were homesteaders also. The farm worked its way down to me and my great grandparents original cabin (pre civil war) had been preserved down through the years. When I built our new home in 1977, I incorporated the cabin into the new construction. My office and a breakfast nook is the original cabin. I say breakfast nook because it was the original kitchen area with the fireplace and hearth. The iorns are still there that was used for cooking in the fireplace. There’s also the first cook stove my great grandmother had. Of course it’s a wood burner, porcelain over cast iron. Cost me a fortune to have it whipped into shape and once in a while my mom (100 years old) and my wife enjoy using it. Mostly in the winter because it heats up the place pretty good. This place will never be sold nor will it leave our family. In 1963 it was designated a Century Farm and the deed is stamped “Registered Homestead “. Apologize for being long winded. It’s a senior citizen curse.
Thanks for sharing some of your family history . I come along each week to just see what you’ve been up to . Nice to see the Deer are well settled in now too . Really looking forward to seeing the new/old truck finished . Regards Martin from the UK .
Amazing to see this truck come together and the rooms getting finished! I look forward to a time to make a road trip out that way to camp and help chip away on a couple of items in that to do list of yours! Keep being you Heath and Cedar!
Nice to meet you after all those years. 😊 Great to hear the story about your family. I put some effort in our family trees too and made it back to 1635. It is a great hobby and gives peace to know where we came from, which jobs the people had, where they lived and what their names were.
Heath I graduated Mesa High in 1976 while your dad taught there(I remember him as Coach Skinner). I don't recall if he was my science teacher, it was soooo long ago. Small world isn't it? BTW I still keep in touch with my jewelry teacher "Scotty" to this day. Truck's looking good, keep the original bed.
Heath, I've been with you from almost the beginning and have watched all of your videos at least once. I tracked you down with google and located Red Poppy Ranch early on. It wasn't really that hard after I heard you wife call you Heath. It is been a joy to see the homestead and your family grow. It was especially heartwarming to hear you talk about your family and how they are important. Blessings to all of you this Easter... from Mississippi!
Hi Reed, I’ve seen all your videos and been with you all since you went there the first time. It’s amazing what you all have done. We lived in Star Valley for 9 years, Fairview just outside of Afton. We sure miss that country, 2008 killed our retirement savings, no jobs really there as my work was piloting, Army, American Airlines, back to Army as a contractor, then retiring again after Medivac flying a helicopter for AirEvac Lifeteam. Retired again an living in White Mills, KY. Been to Montpelier a few times, Bear Lake, etc. been trying to figure out where your Ranch is have a fair idea since you all go to the hot springs every now and then. Such beautiful country. God bless you all. Bob
Trivia - 8:31 - Panhard was a French car company that got absorbed into Renault. Of course Panhard was the first to design a lateral stability rod, today known as the Panhard rod or bar; which is an absolute must on 2 link suspensions, but is an added benefit on leaf and 4 link suspensions.
Reed is such a good b-ball player. Some nice moves he made. Such a small world we love in. Don't you wish you could go back in time and visit with your great great grandparents in the 1800's? If you decide to make a flatbed for the truck, I hope you keep the original bed as the person who buys it from you may want to have that bed. Happy Easter to the Skinner family. He is Risen!
I think it is awesome that you know about your ancestors. My great, great, great grandfather was Isaac Singer, the sewing machine man. My grandmother talked to me about him. But I'm pretty much in the dark about any of my other ancestors.
Congratulations to your boy and his team on their victory! That is sure going to be one sweet truck, I’ll tell ya it’s almost worth the drive out there and rent a camping spot just to see that truck😊
That is what makes life --a connection to places and people. I hope we reestablish something similar to the CCC for the young people not ending with a HS degree. A skill learned when young lasts forever.
Wow! My Brother-in-Law is from England and has been living here in Missouri for the last 20 years! 🤔 His last name is also Skinner! 👍 Your name is Heathcliff Skinner, Nice to meet Ya! I am Steven De Gonia And my online presence is MasterCrafter!🖐 Happy Easter Red Poppy Ranch Family and friends!🐥🐣🐰
Hey there, Heath and Cedar. Happy Easter from your number one fan in South Africa. Great to see the progress each week, I love the huge improvements you've made to the homestead so far... keep it going! ❤❤
Someone get him a respirator or facemask for sanding and stuff 😅 Love this channel! One if the most entertaining on UA-cam! Have been watching since they started planing the foundation for the house
Howdy, Heath Skinner:-). You know I love your videos, never miss 'em. I follow 4 UA-cam channels, I watch yours first, always. Reed sure can play. Such a confident kid. Well done, and God bless you.
Happy Easter to all of you at RPR Heath. Can't wait to see the truck fire up. Good call on painting the frame. I'm about to do the same on my little pickup. The homestead has really come a long way. Be safe everyone.
Some of your other long term watchers may have seen a comment a few years back addressed to the Skinners. So like any self respecting UA-cam follower I searched both of your first names with that last name and sure enough there you were. But not to be confused with a crazy stalker, I left it at that and never passed on the info. 😉 But that was a fun story about you family. And congrats to Reed and his team! I've never learned a whole lot of my personal family history other than knowing that I had Kauffman ancestors on my mom's side. Around the time that my family was moving to MO, I learned from my bio-dad that his mom was born in MO. I recently learned from my mom that my Kauffman ancestor was also born in MO. Holy crap! Maybe that's why I've felt the pull to move here for MANY years... 🤔🤷🏻♀️ And it's fun to see the Kauffman name around here.
I went out to a couple that had broken down in Stratford upon Avon UK. They were visiting us from Idaho. I said to the gent "The only thing i know in Idaho is Red Poppy Ranch". He said his dad watches it. I then said "Well thats two of us then" 🤣🤣🤣
You should look into a Fass or Airdog fuel system for your truck. They both have a system to eliminate air and also have in line fuel heating for the winter months. I've owned 4 systems on 4 different trucks and they work so well. I would never own a diesel truck with out one of them. Great channel, have followed you guys for a while now.

Hi there. First time commenter, but long time viewer. The first video I saw was the one in which you and Cedar installed the first propane tank behind the shop. Since then I went back and watched all your videos (except some Q&A videos, there to long and with no action). I've known your last name since about 4-5 years ago (or even more) and your ranch location since about same time (in the recently updated Google Maps aerial view, you have what seems to be a red truck with a trailer attached in front of the shop and the pool is half shaded by the wood shelter roof). Yeah, it's a bit of a weird hobby, but I like to find stuff online. I'm not a stalker or anything like that, though (it would be hard to stalk from Eastern Europe). I just wanted to point out (and make your aware) that, despite your efforts, privacy is not something you can control anymore, unfortunately. In current day and age, anyone with an internet connection, some basic (detective?) skills and some persistence, can find a lot of stuff, especially on public persons like you. Keep up the good work, I'll certainly keep watching. Cheers.

You’re really doing a heckuva job on that plaster, starting to do skim coats! You may not love it, but it’s looking good
NICE JOB!
Can’t see any fire extinguishers in your shop, Heath.
Happy Easter and thanks for the video.
Go Reed and Happy Easter y’all. Thanks for sharing Heath and Cedar! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
I’m from illinois. Yorkville. I had skinners in my school, and a boss skinner
Lots of Skinners here in Nova Scotia !!!!
I vote you keep the 1969 bed on the old truck. Keep the classic lines from the old truck. You have enough flatbeds
I went out to a couple that had broken down in Stratford upon Avon UK. They were visiting us from Idaho. I said to the gent "The only thing i know in Idaho is Red Poppy Ranch". He said his dad watches it. I then said "Well thats two of us then" 🤣🤣🤣
We bought nuts! Happy Easter guys!
Us real subscribers know your name 😉 been watching you guys since the beginning. Love watching this farm life since I live in las vegas
Thank you sir it’s a pleasure
Good evening Red Poppy 😊
You should look into a Fass or Airdog fuel system for your truck. They both have a system to eliminate air and also have in line fuel heating for the winter months. I've owned 4 systems on 4 different trucks and they work so well. I would never own a diesel truck with out one of them. Great channel, have followed you guys for a while now.
HEY! Hello Red Poppy! Happy Easter to everybody!
My vote is to keep the original bed this time.
Happy Easter ❤
Happy Easter 🐰

Thanks and GOD BLESS 😀
Reedy sure is a good shooter at goals
Hi rpr. Love watching ur progress ❤❤❤ happy Easter
I have been working on my family tree for about 13 years. and it sure is an eye opener on who we are related to
some went to USA and 1 family settled in Preston Idaho.
mine came to Australia from Suffolk. Sheep Herders in the census
Wright:Brown:Pitcher: Ladle
@Bernie5172, If you get a DNA test done it will give you lots of answers & may save you time. My brother then went to Scotland after he got out of the Navy & finished the family history.

👍 cut truck bed in half, make a couches for the pool table room.
I have herd the name skinner over here in the uk i went to school with boy with that name well done reed and team for your win happy easter to you all 🐣🌞
Great video!
Keep the truck bed, of course that's my thoughts.
MY FAVORITE IDAHO OFF GRID UA-cam FAMILY ! 😁👍🏼
Do you remember the story of
Ephraim the Big Bear that killed a lot of cattle and livestock back in the '50s? I love the family stories. Also, my mother had the green Corning bowls
that you were with eating your nuts.
I must have been following a long time I knew your name😂
WOW 😮 small world... After all those years finding a 🔥 flame😂
No more belly aching about drywalling when you can finish the ceiling without a ladder.😂
I’m in! Book me an August or September camping spot. Can I get a canning lesson with Cedar while I’m there? ❤❤❤❤
I'm late but watching now
I recently had a dream about your deer. I was talking like i was a deer pro or something. When in reality I don’t know one iota about deer 😅 I still remember and laugh about that.
Thank you for sharing your heritage...great story...an American story. Now you and I know that you are going to build a "wicked awful" flat bed for that truck...I can see it in your eyes! Great video.
I would have used nylon air line for fuel lines in place of rubber that get hard and brittle
Sounds like Heath is starting an Air B&B
4.32 can really appreciate how steep your land is in this shot!
Thanks for the heads up about being finished with the drywall. Now I can stop hitting the fast forward and possibly missing parts of your commentary. The only thing that I hate worse than hanging/finishing dry wall myself, is watching others do it.
Truck is awesome. You have to top coat POR 15 if its exposed to UV. Even though this is under the truck, it'll get UV reflected from the ground. It's going to crack and peel after a while. Ask me how I know. :(
Please paint the leaves and axles! 👍🏼
I’ve known your name and where you live for years now. I just figured you like your anonymity and respected that. If you feel comfortable sharing your last name that’s not an issue. Take care
I'd love to come camp on your land some day. Go get away from it all, and just do some farm work.
related to Cecil in Canada? Off Grid Homesteading With The Skinners?
Always assumed you name was poppy 😂
What about using Raptor Liner for the rest? I have heard great reviews about that product
Been two bear lake a few times
Do the Deer ever use the shelter that you built ?
Hi there.
