One of our Fallow deer opened our yard hydrant and drained our water tanks. Digging out of a three day blizzard. Bumpside diesel core support.

Make sure you check out Harry’s next time you’re at your local Costco and let me know what you pick up! Thanks Harry's
You should shave that awful moustache 😳 you look like a serial killer
What about moving the hay to where the old fuel tank was, behind the shop?
Harry's pushes the woke agenda...no thanks!!
Somehow, I'd be willing to bet you've never bought a copy of GQ Magazine...
@@nickdanger7537 I just made the effort to Google GQ magazine and check covers for moustache men …. I don’t think Burt Reynolds ever made it to the cover of GQ… even if he had a moustache and a hair piece - he’s NOT a current trend 😂
The snow that you get where you live I lived through that back in the 40's and 50's as a young lad in Southern Ontario Canada.
It was waking up in the morning to see how deep the snow came down over night so I know what you are seeing and bless you for taking it as it comes.
Making the best of what you have to work with. Been following you for years and still enjoy what ever you post for us to watch.
I enjoyed this video. Just a "week in the life" of homesteaders. It was fun to see your big kids home to get some of Mom's cooking. That snow blower is doing a great job for you this year. Looking forward to seeing each week's update.
I love that you have a “Costco” for your loved ones to stock up from. You two do a great job of taking care of your family and that’s something that the world needs to see, now more than ever. Stay healthy, safe and warm. ✌🏼🙏🏼
Those yard hydrants are about the same size as the trees whitetail deer use to “spar” with during the rut. Not sure about axis deer, but I bet you they may get more rough next year during the peak of rut.
If I were you…I’d drop a 10’ post in the ground with the height of the hydrant above grade and strap that thing down.
Been watching for 6 years now. Never miss an episode.
Love the channel. Keep it up!
I really love seeing the family. Blessings to you all.
Couple of highboy containers with a roof between would be a great summer workshop and covered winter storage
So grateful to be able to visit Red Poppy Ranch this evening! Speaking of Spiritual Uplifting, my church had Ward Conference today, and I got a good dose of being surrounded by kind, loving, and considerate people. Positively charged up to face the week!
Blessings on all of you and spead the joy!💡🖖🐈⬛🫖📚🕊💕🐑🦌
That garage roof is a great candidate for another 3 solar arrays. It would really help your winter energy production.
The deer looked far healthier than when you first got them they're looking really good
That's probably their winter fur
Curious deer playing with water spickets!
Thank you for the great videos. Makes my Sunday afternoons not so boring.
They make screw in spikes for rubber tracks. Seem to work great on snow & ice.
Good grief! No water is a big issue! I’m glad the culprits have been found and severely restricted from their ability to stop your showers!
You certainly put in a lot of hard work. God Bless You and Your Family.
I and I went back in a few minutes ago and double checked and look back on the video of where they put the studs in. They used a socket and an impact driver. So they're really easy to put in on those studs for the escalator and he put them in his skitster. Is the main thing you put them in. Anyway catch you later like
Heath compliments to u and your before with ur beard you looked older and now you both look so young ❤️❤️❤️
the snow blower is the most useful addition to your collection of implements
Thanks again for your time making the video watching from Reno NV
Red Poppy Ranch My all time Favorite UA-cam channel!!
Awesome put together video ! You guys sure get a ton of snow there, Bobcat & blower a must ! Nice deer & that is quite a rack very different than I ever seen , I like the old ford it will be nice to see it all done :)
Our kids too like coming to “Moms grocery store”. My 33 year old has started making kombucha too! Our local daughter get lunch from moms lunch counter when she drops off grandson on her way to work. Son in law loves it when I have leftovers for his dinner. 😂😂😂
It's warmer there than it is in Mississippi.
Seems like we're getting the winter weather for you
HEY! Hello Red Poppy and thumbs UP!!
Over here in Emmett, we only got about 8-10 inches of dry powdery snow from the last couple storms....not all that bad, but they closed schools for 2 days because the road crews weren't doing their job.
We've had a few snow showers off and on but nothing really that bad, and a couple weeks of cold temps down in the teens and single digits mainly from the arctic air blast that hit us on top of the inversion we already had.
Its around 42 degrees this afternoon, quickly melting the snow...and looks like it isn't going to get too cold the next week or so, then drop back into the 20's again, but probably not much in the way of snow.
Since I'm the only one at the house now, the furnace is getting a work out throughout the week with nobody here to keep the wood stove going through the day. Going to hate the propane bill.
I live in central France and have a regular supply of Harrys - This from seeing them supporting your site - They are very good and efficient - Thanks for the recomendation
Ruby's coat is short, have you thought about getting her a coat for winter? It might make it more comfortable for her when she is outside.
Oh, you do the video's like you're writing in a diary- nice :)
yo heath you sure are "get it done type of individual "thats awesome.. look forward to that truck on the road... be safe
Most people use a wee fan on a stove like you have, something you could look into.👍
Hello friends hope all is well From South Carolina
great video, That Truck is looking Good.
its really enjoyable watching your videos cant wait for the next one . thank you very much.
Keep in mind those old tracks laid on their sides make good raised beds
Well, my stars! I wouldn't have come up with that idea. Thanks!
The obvious thing about weather Heath is that it’s always changing either for better or worse. As it is still January and the forecast says it’s going to get unseasonably warmer doesn’t mean it’s going to last till spring either. One day about ten or fifteen years ago the local weather department said that the airport was reporting partly sunny skies but where we lived I had about six to seven inches of partly sunny white stuff on my back patio. The truck will be a welcome addition to your vehicle collection too if you don’t loose track of your goal. Nice to see the kids come over to Mom and Dad’s to see what’s in the pantry and it won’t be long till it’s the grandkids helping themselves to. So far this year we’ve only received about two maybe three inches of snow and that’s to much for this old man anymore. Be careful and stay safe my friend God love ❤️ both Cedar and you.
Looking good with the mustache ,
So does your wife with that beautiful smile 😊
Rockin that Johnny Ringo look (Tombstone Michael Biehn)
Seems that your best investment this year was the snow blower
Critters are full of surprises!
Heath with that new shaver, you look like a sheriff from a Clint Eastwood Western lol
Love your stash Heath.
got my coffee, been waiting for ya...
Thanks and GOD BLESS 😀
Pair of long johns go a long way
With all that snow The deer will be able to skip the fence soon…🫣
Heath, your beardless look is a big improvement.
On next week's episode, the deer remove the lock and write HA HA in the snow.
You're dedication to capture your everyday life moments and share it with us see no boundaries! Keep smiling at life, you're everyone's envy!
Heath, I am so thankful that you and your family are safe and warm. You still manage to get things acconplished in spite of the weather. I was wondering what has happened to your goats? I have not seen them in your videos for some time. Thank you for the great videos, and for taking us along on your adventure.
They have gone on to a new home. The guy takes them around to various places where they can eat all the brush they want. Things like state and national parks. Overgrown pastures comes to mind.
@@damogranheart5521 Thank you for the reply. This sounds like a very needed service and a good use of the goats. They do like to eat all different kinds of plant material. Thank you again for the information.
We're in the Black hills. 8 days ago we hit -31. Today it was 51
Nice!
First of all, thanks so much for your channel. Ive enjoyed it for several years. Something you said in today's episode made me wonder something. You stated that you liked to resolve problems while the wife and family are still sleeping. I used to agree with that but now that I'm in my later years (I'm 68) I find that when something comes up that might arise again sometime down the road, I like to bring my wife into the equation so she'll know how to handle situations when Im no longer on this earth (she is a decade younger than I am). With your situation where you are so independent, does this ever cross your mind? Or maybe Im just not following your actions well enough... Again, thanks for the great channel. Wish I was 20 yrs younger so I could experience lots of what Im learning on you tube!
I for one am a fan of the mustache
If you leave the snow on the truck bed during plowing it provides weight for traction.
👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏼 stay safe and warm.
We used to chop up alfalfa stems up with a straw chopper to get the cows to eat them
Heath you could be a stand in actor for magnum pi if they bring out a new series , cracking moustache. 😂
wyatt earp or doc holiday vibes or any 70s porn actor!!
I think it looks very dashing. He sure cleans up nice for church.
You're a BEAST Bro!
This weekend we're going to build our second firewood shelter. With this new and the current one we can have enough firewood by the house to last us 2 winters. Prices of firewood are as unstable as can be where i life.
Def time to build some carports
have you thought about those screw in tire snow studs ?
MY FAVORITE IDAHO OFF GRID UA-cam FAMILY!
God Bless y’all in the storms , praying for ya ! 🙏🏼
Evening, CC! Have a lovely week!
We have called this the January thaw but it will change! That is if things go as usual. We sure need the snow but this cold that just went through I can do without!
My husband uses Harry’s blades and handles and loves them!
I can imagine trying to pull parts at a junkyard in 7 degree weather is brutal, but perhaps if you tried wearing something appropriate for cold weather besides blue jeans and a hoodie. Put on some coveralls or ski pants, a winter jacket and a winter hat instead of that ball cap. Adapt my man.
If you want ambition strikes last winter they had some. They bought some deals if they took their impact. And they just screwed me in their spikes. They go in the the tracks. You screw a man and you can check them back out and they put them in during the they took him back out and they didn't ruin their tracks at all with them.
It would be nice if you could keep the skid steer in the shop with a fire in the wood stove so it will be warm.
Maybe I missed it. Why chains attached to the tracks? Agree to having a summer set and a winter set but why not get lag bolts or screws and screw into the tracks vs chain? Likely cheaper and less work to mount I’d think.
My daughter and her husband just moved to Kuna Idaho a month ago she says it's colder there than North Carolina
Rhett looks so "grown up".
Why not use something more like studs on the mini excavator tracks similar to snowmobiles could be something as simple as bolts through the track
On this weeks episode Red Poppy Ranch - Magnum P.I. ......Heath Skinner investigates the missing water from the Hillside Tanks.... If you don't know about 'Magnum P,I. ' ...... you missed out on a great childhood. 😂
Been following for a long time since original build. I might have missed something-goats?
That old power steering pump sounds thirsty.
Sorting the Wyatt Earp look and pulling it off.
I was hoping that now that you have a trencher, you would run a line to the well pump, and put that backup Jenny behind you.
thanks for another great video!
(btw, is the mustache in solidarity?)
The 70s called, they want their mustache back lol
Time to make toys for those bored deer lol!!😅
What do we want?? We want to see more of the stash!!!
When do we want it??? We want it now!!
More videos than once a week please!!!
sounds like it's time to explore some enrichment activities for deer... 😂
I dought all these comments gets read but snowmobile studs would work great on your excavator.
Maybe it's time for you to look into a pair of Car hart Overalls. Thinking it will keep you a lot warmer.
Now, all that is needed for the Winston shaveset .. is for it be used! That Magnum PI look is growing out of control LOL. 1980s p0rnstar m0ustache 😀
For the excavator- why not just add carbide screw in studs? Allegedly more effective than the chains
Could you use screw in studs on those tracks? Question from a guy who lives in Florida!😂
Put a saddle clamp and a padlock on the hydrants
I just cant fathom how humans can live in those terrible conditions
It is honestly whatever you are used too 🤷♀️ Now that I am retired I thought about moving to a warmer climate but I do enjoy the change of seasons. 🙏💞
I was born in rough, cold weather in Northern Minnesota. I enjoy it all!
Just a question. Did I miss it? Did you get rid of the goats? I don't recall seeing them since before you got the Fallow deer.
Yes. They did.
I'm a bit concerned you still could lose water if the deer happen to pop that handle up on the hydrant any bit at all. My dad replaced all the outside water spiggets with these kind of hydrant on our farm many years ago. A unique feature about these is when you shut them off, water drains back in the hydrant thru a hole at the bottom by the supply pipe so it won't freeze. I was always told not to leave the handle up at all even if water isn't coming out because if you do, water could just pour out through the drain hole at the bottom.
Where are the goats?? Stay warm and safe. God bless.
on this episode of "This Ole Truck"...
And the world famous words of Troy Landry, "Choot em 'Lizabeth, choot em"... Exactly what I was thinking when the deer opened the hydrant and drained all of my family's water down the driveway...😅 The truck project is coming along nicely, and chains on n excavator, why not.
Love ya'll ❤️
Just so you know, welding something, then quenching it in the snow or water will make it prone to cracking. You’re better off letting it cool in the ambient air.
I was kind of wondering some on your awning on the side of your shop. Is there any way you can dig between those posts enough that you could drag your skin steer under there. And maybe under a couple of them that you could drive in your escalator under there. Keep on weighing in and weather so much. It was just a thought. I don't know if you can do that. I don't know how far you went down with your post or any of that. Anyway I thought it might be a suggestion get you later bye
Why when I see Heath with just the Thick mustache and no beard, why do I think 🤔 of Wyatt Earp on the Movie 🎥 Tombstone? 😂👍🏼
Man I wish Wisconsin would see that kind of snow sometimes! Do you guys no longer have the goats? 🐐
Love the mustache 😅
You know, on the side of the haunting. That is on the one side of your building of your shop that you park goes this with the little 4 wheel drives on her if you wish to take and seal up the side of that to where you put high in, it won't get snow on it, then you will be able to store it under there. And be able to just get it. Walk over to the pen
Like the mustache
The old ford is looking good. A buddy of mine and myself was wondering when you are getting different rims and tires on the Dodge truck? It looked bad ass with the black rims on it.
