You are very worthy of having this the Sawstop tablesaw. No need to feel guilty, you are giving us all a lot with your channel and your work. You are a stand-up human being and a great person.
The blessing is that YOU empower guys like myself, a 50yo with a career in something else, to reach for that dream of being able to provide for my family outside of what I’ve done for decades. Keep it up, Matt. You & Amy are a beacon of hope. God bless.
I honestly got into woodworking last year because of your channel, your message and your love of sharing your knowledge. My first table saw I just bought is the Skil you reviewed... it ain't perfect, but price wise and options, it does good. I am a little scared when using because it's like you said, gotta respect the machine. But one day, I really hope I can upgrade to a sawstop Jobsite Pro Table Saw... since I don't have a lot of space, that would be awesome. Putting it in the hands of the Lord. If he sees' fit that I can one day afford one, then it will happen.
Such a wonderful blessing. The safety feature of these saw has them high on the list of products we will be getting for the nonprofit as well! Congratulations!!
Hey Matt, I have the 1.75 version for several years now and used the safety feature once. Oops, making trim molding out of Trex decking and my feather board would not hold the soft material to the fence so I was holding it tight with my hand. Long story short, I was only humbled, God is good even when I do dumb stuff. It's worth every cent!! Praise be to God!!
As a wife AND a woodworker, I’m VERY happy to see this saw in your shop simply for your safety. I’m certain that Amy also breathes a sigh of relief knowing how much safer you are. God bless the donor. I’m sure you will forever be indebted to his kindness and generosity. 😊
Oh my goodness!!! I just got a saw stop and I kept wondering why my blade was just a little bit out of alignment!! Thank you for explaining that I need to adjust the table! I must have missed that part of the manual. For real, that saved me from a lot of headache!
I really LOVE how you pay everything forward. I have always given away something that works, that I replaced with new. I only asked that they do the same in return, to bless someone else. I truly enjoy your videos.
Congratulations on the Sawstop. Saw the handcuffs hanging in a background shot in a previous video, now I know why. Retired NYSP here. God Bless you and your family. Keep making informative and worthwhile content. Thanks for what you do.
Awesome! I really appreciate the point you made about spending the extra money for safety. This is something I always try to emphasize when talking about motorcycle gear.
That’s very nice of your brother in Christ. And indeed for alot of people this saw is way out of there price range , but it’s a very nice saw. Greetings from a Dutch viewer
WOW! How blessed are you? That is awesome!!! Congrats. I am saving to get one as I write this. My wife helping me cut some door molding and she asked me a question while I was making a cut. Fortunately I was using a push block and I that split second of distraction I nicked the block. WHEW! It wasn’t my hand or fingers. Upon showing her the Saw Stop videos her only comment was “you are getting one!”.
First let me say thank you for your service in what ever department you served. Secondly, WOW what a blessing! God is so good! I am excited to see what comes from your blessing. Thanks for all the great video content. I have learned so much from them. I can’t wait to clear the cars out of the carport and try my hand at some of the projects you have shown. Bless you!
Congrats. I'm glad u didn't back out of getting qhat u really wanted. Way to often people overlook the what if but seems like God blessed you and he guided u on the right path as well
Congrats on the Saw Stop, very much blessed and hope you continue to be blessed and bless others. This video helped change my mind on getting one of these, been looking and thought of a grizzly but the safety with the SawStop and this video helped make the decision easier.
Glory be to God ..I have been waiting years for this saw and cant afford it. I make my living with woodworking and feel you have been blessed so much..I am happy for you.
God bless you and the person that blessed you . I just about lost my thumb about 2 weeks ago, still recovering and getting better everyday it happens very quick.
I have the Delta T2 and it has served me well thanks to your and other videos on squaring everything. congrats on the Saw Stop cant wait to see what you can make with it.
Congrats on the saw, and that brother of ours is all sorts of awesome! I didn't know you're prior LEO, I'm about to retire from law enforcement after 21 1/2 yrs. So, thanks for the service you gave for 13 yrs, now God bless you in what you're doing now!!
I was getting ready to buy a table saw…and when I seen this UA-cam video. I said to myself, “ That’s the One”. I’m very”HUGE” fan of safety. You have the heart of the machine that’s what’s important. I’d pay double for that.
I think you did a tremendous job on your video, it’s obviously from the heart. I wanted to commend you on your choice for a table saw, I believe your reasoning was very sound and I hope you get a lifetime of enjoyment from your SAWSTOP. I’m and old time worker who incidentally only has 7 fingers remaining. I fell victim to a table saw exactly in the manner you mentioned --I got complacent and I paid the price. I’ll be paying the price for my arrogance for the remainder of my life. Good choice my friend. Stay safe, Cheers from Toronto 🙏🏼
Amazing review Matt. I'm super stoked for you. Congratulations. That looks like an awesome saw. It's on my list. Lol. The safety of this tool is second to none.
You are absolutely right about ,everything should be premium . Love your videos I been watching from your beginning , interesting to see you progress to where you are .
That’s amazing brother. So glad you have been blessed in this way. I am a new Ag teacher, and I am planning to get. A Saw Stop. We don’t currently have a table saw for the shop, but when we get one it will be a Saw Stop. As the teacher, I couldn’t justify having a table saw that isn’t a Saw Stop. I know we are probably going to have some shop accidents, but I I can save just one students fingers, the investment will be work that it. By the way, I showed my one of my classes your five projects that sell video. They really enjoyed it.
I must say I am jealous that you get all these wonderful gifts. At the same time I'm so happy watching you pay it forward. Just like the live stream when you gave away your other saw. May God continue to bless you brother.
As some other commenters have said, great faith can be rewarded in great ways. You are unashamed of your walk with the Lord, and He is blessing you for that. I smiled a knowing grin when you said you built your work bench to match the height of a Saw Stop, hoping to get the saw soon. It's awesome to see God's people doing His work. You are a blessing and an inspiration to many, most likely to a much greater degree than you realize.
I'm in low informant myself as well as a carpenter as another full time job. I would love to have a lot nicer table saw (SawStop). Thank God for you budy and the message your sending. Worthy of a Change Home Improvement
I have been a woodworker since my teens, i am 62 now and have been in a wheelchair since i was hurt in a car accident at 23 years old. i have had plenty of of industrial saws...three Uni-Saws and a powermatic 66 and loved all of them. when i moved a couple of years ago, i decided to sell my last beloved Uni-Saw and purchase a 3 hp sawstop. if it wasn't a quality built saw, i wouldn't have purchased it, but it is very well built and works great. not only does it have the safety features, the dust collection works great. cutting wood from a sitting position is an adventure at times and i have had my share of close calls, but i am happy with it so far....good luck and have fun!
Congrats! What a great blessing! Just wanted to point out one thing, the blade in your video has anti-kickback shoulders on it, this is not recommended by SawStop as it can slow the ability of the break to stop the blade. It will still stop it, but should you have an accident it can increase the severity of an injury. I've had my SawStop for about 6 months now, and it is a true joy to use! Enjoy it!
Another honest review. Love that! Congratulations on the saw Matt! That safety feature is priceless. Thank you for the content! Have a great week Outlaws!
I have had my 3 hp SawStop for about 7 yrs. now. The laminate surface on the right side has held up just fine. The blade that came with the saw is a pretty good one. However, I chose to use an inexpensive blade for a little while at first, because I knew I would do something to trip the breaker. And I did (hit a piece of metal). Now I have the blade with the tripped breaker attached hanging on the wall by my saw as a reminder. Using better blades ever since and no more trips. I love the saw.
Congratulations on your Sawstop. I loved you sitting in the chair at the end of your driveway!! I recently got the Contractor model with the 36" fence and cast iron wings and LOVE it!. I live near a WoodCraft and had them deliver and set it up for me.
That is so crazy, my brother in law just lost three fingers using a table saw and I was telling him about it. I guess is time to get one. blessings brother
So happy for you Matt GOD is good all time your a great inspiration for us is never made UA-cam channel without you soon as I find mic I can afford I’ll be making more
Love it! Once the shop is up I want to try and follow in your footsteps and get a CNC to work while I'm working with the aim of earning the money for a SawStop. One day!
That’s awesome. Great story. I really liked how you gave away your miter saw to someone in need. Very cool! I love the channel and your videos. My dad was also a police officer. Thank you
For a long time, I’ve said “I won’t get a table saw until I have the confidence to get a SawStop.” The safety features behind it made me feel comfortable in using a table saw while still following all the safety practices that come with such a powerful tool of course. But for a long time I’ve been putting it off. Often times while working on a project I would tell myself, “a table saw would really help me out here.” After seeing your video from a while ago where you first revealed your SawStop and saw how happy and excited you were, I took it as a sign! I got mine assembled a few days ago and can’t wait to use it on my next project. Thank you for inspiring me and many others! I remember finding your channel a while back and immediately got inspired to start woodworking. It was like your channel was put in front of me to hear your wisdom and start creating. You keep inspiring me to become better at my craft! Congratulations on the new saw! You definitely deserve it! May god bless you, your family and all of your loved ones!
This is definitely a blessing. One day I'll have a saw stop of my own as well. I have a job site rigid right now, it has been good, but I find myself needing a bigger one from time to time.
So happy for you. Don't feel ashamed or embarrassed for having it given to you. He, and we think you deserve it. And take it from an old guy with half a left thumb. I would gladly have my thumb intact for $800.
We’ll said Matt. I couldn’t believe how much these table saws go for and to know how safe the machine is. I’ve been looking for a job site table saw for my garage. So I think I’m going to save and save but I think I know I would feel comfortable knowing how safe the saw is. The wife might think I’m crazy for spending this much on a saw but at the end of the day we all need to go out there and work. Thanks for the video. Have a great day
I've been watching you since before you left your job to do this full time. I can't believe I'm just seeing this now. God is good, man. I'm glad there are good Christians out there blessing other good Christians..keep doing God's work, Matt.
My buddy just got this saw, and gave me his old Rigid with the Incra fence system. That was a huge upgrade from my regular Rigid saw with the standard fence system. He also bought me Jet bandsaw for the business. Its humbling indeed. Keep it up mate! Blessings.
@@731Woodworks the fence on it is great! Once it's dialed in you can do near perfect resaw and rip cuts. Like the sawstop, it's a bit of a pain to get adjusted though.
Congrats on the new saw. This is my dream saw as well. I currently have a 1952 Delta Unisaw. It is a good saw but doesn't have a lot of safety features. I also would like a left tilt. Congrats again Matt.
Matt, I’m a Flag Maker and had the same Delta saw as you did. Back in February, while cutting up boards, I pushed my left pointer into the blade. I was very lucky in that it really just cut into the flesh and didn’t hit the bone. I had been telling myself that I was going to get a SawStop in the future. Well, the next day, I ordered mine. To me, after my experience, there is no price you can put on the safety feature of the SawStop. Plus, it really is a great saw.
You earned the blessings by being a proud Christian in a crazy world. Your channel is my favourite because of that. Special blessings on the person that gifted you that machine! “As Ye Sew, So Shall You Reap” (not biblical, but if I wrote a book it would be :) ) Cheers from Ontario!
Great review! I got a saw stop over the Delta, because of the safety feature for my fingers. I have the contractor saw. At the end of the day it’s a hobby for me and I need my fingers. I’m fortunate enough to have a budget that allowed to pay way more. Definitely gives peace of mind around the shop especially with young kids that like to hang out with dad when he is building.
Good for you! I had a Home Depot Rigid table saw and was very pleased with it...until I cut my thumb. I had a kickback and my thumb came over the blade and I headed to the ER. Thank the good Lord I still have my thumb but it doesn't work as well as it use to, I sold that saw and bought a 3hp Saw Stop and just love it. I am still cautious about the blade but for a different reason... touch that blade and the blade drops down so fast it scares you... and it cost $79 dollars to replace that blade brake and usually you have to buy a new blade! Also, I'm subscribed and like to watch your videos. Keep up the good work! .
Well, when you're faithful to the Lord there's always huge blessings. I'd love to be able to add one to my small tool arsenal one day. Thanks for all of your informative and honest content and God bless.
I had to look it up but I've had mine for 9 years now. Never once regretted it. Fantastic saw....and it will at least try not to remove my finger. Which is more than I can say for any other power tool in my shop. I've only set it off 3 times. Two were unexpectedly wet wood. One was grazing the side of the blade with my finger when a piece kicked out before I expected. It's so insanely fast. Having seen it go a couple times I feel reassured that this technology works. Getting ready to put a slider on it but beyond that I can't imagine ever needing to replace it.
That is a beautiful piece of equipment Matt. That's one of the long term goals for my woodworking. I have the Delta T2 and it's a great saw, but I never feel comfortable using, plus my 10 year old son is interested in what I do and wants to learn, so something with the safety of a Sawstop is a must have future investment. I also 100% agree with your feelings about that wood table and especially the miter gauge. That looks exactly like the one on the Delta T2, and at the Sawstop price, that thing should come with an Incra level piece. Thanks for all the amazing content Matt!
Appreciate the honest review, it would be easy to just gush over it but you’re exactly right those are things I would be disappointed in too if I bought one. Looks like the miter gauge on my kobalt saw! I really like the tool review videos lately!
@@Shrubhumper yep, I only have a dewalt table saw, but yeah that miter gage has only come out of its holder once or twice...just to see if I knew how to remove it from the on board storage slot and put it back....it needs a tricky bit of alignment to go back in.
I use to work for a bullet proof company we had this saw in our shop. Since the first time I made a cut on it I've wanted one in my home shop. One day I'll get one.
Funny, the comments on here. I like to watch your channel because you don't talk about your beliefs all that much. Any more and I would have to tune out. Thanks. You deserve the Sawstop. Good for you. I wish I could of given you one.
Wow what a blessing! I actually was considering looking for a delta when the budget allows, but the more I think about the safety aspect, the more I want the SawStop contractor saw when I upgrade from my job site saw. Love the fact that you passed your delta on to someone that needs it. Blessings are best when we can turn around and bless others! Subbed and can’t wait to see what you create with this beautiful gift!
Congrats on the new Saw Stop; I'm very happy for you!!! Solid review and I completely agree on wood table insert; it should be cast iron. I've tried to find an insert for mine with no luck. Overall, a great saw with a fantastic safety feature. Enjoy.
Superb story and it warms my heart to hear that pure generosity still exists. Now, back on the saw. Or more exactly on your first reason, Safety. I can understand one chooses to pay for the SawStop save-fingers stuff something like 30 to 70% more on other comparable table saws. What is more difficult to grasp for me is that someone would be focused on safety AND avoid using a blade guard especially while ripping 2.5 to 3" material. To each his own, I guess. Just saying'.
i stumbled on this by accident. i was looking for table saw reviews or delta table saw repairs. i remember seeing one of your videos with a delta. Anyway, long story short im a grown man tearing up looking at the grace God has over your life. Your a true inspiration to me. ty i hope one i can shake your hand. Oh..... dude you should hold zoom classes for woodworking, Christian men fellow ship, marriage ministry fellow ship..... im pretty sure you have a lot of knowledge. anyway God bless
Hello, I am new to your channel and I want to say that I appreciate you speaking about the goodness of god. I started watching because I am in the market for a sawstop. 3 weeks ago I had a severe injury on my tablesaw that caused damage to my left hand. I have had 4 surgeries to date. I am wishing I would have one before now, but that’s okay. I enjoyed your video and look forward to watching more of your content. I have a go fund me setup to help me get one and to help pay bills since I am a full time woodworker and not able to work for a while.
Great job on all the content. I always enjoy watching your videos. A SawStop is my dream saw as well. I can tell you from experience that you could buy that saw two times over for that split second of loosing focus. The emergency room alone was $5,000+. I still have my thumb and it works at 98% but missing some feeling on the last half inch or so. Keep God first and enjoy that saw, you deserve it.
Similar situation. I have full feeling, but the thumb bends about 90% of normal. Plus the nail is a little funky where the two sides meet along the cutline.
A blessing in deed. Once I heard it had a flesh sensing stop i was sold on it and starting researching. I saw this video and just confirmed that I need to save up. This and the festool miter saw. It’s going to take anwhile😂
I had a very good friend buy me an A/C unit because I have cancer and the chemo is wreaking havoc with my body. We don't usually have extreme heat in the PNW but we have this summer and it was killing me. So my friend stepped and I am so grateful to him. Some how I will pay him back for his kindness. We may be meeting next month and I have not actually seen him since we were kids. (I think about 1976). As far as saws I would love to own a Saw Stop some day. For now I am happy with my Delta. Still learning a beginner but making cutting boards. PS I enjoy your channel.
I am sure that you got this saw thru the generosity of another that God touched because there are great things He wants you to do with it. And you will! Bless you and yours.
congrats on the saw! God blesses in many ways, don't let Satan steal your joy!! you have nothing to feel guilty about! Love your channel and what you stand for. God bless!!
Congrats, Matt. That is a fantastic saw. I had mine for fifteen years in a professional furniture shop. It is a work horse and a very well built machine. Something rarely mentioned is the service Sawstop offers. FAR better than anything under the Powermatic umbrella, Laguna, Grizz or others. It is expensive, but comparable to aan Oliver or a Powermatic, and the build quality and service are FAR better. Outside of a Northfield, there really isn’t a better cabinet saw, so the price is certainly reasonable. 3h- is plenty (though my new saw is 9 and I LOVE that extra power, though it’s pushing a 16’ blade, not 10’). I don’t know how many kitchens and furniture I built with that same saw you got. That extension wing, like most others are wood because that far out, the materiel is not a big deal. Replace those legs with a cabinet to store your table saw gods. In fifteen years I never once used the mitre gauge. I don’t even know why they are included. Make a sled and get an Incra for precise mitres. Or spend the money and get the sliding extension. Put a quality blades on there; Ridge Carbide, Forrest, or FS. Have a rip, crosscut, and combo, and be diligent about changing them out . Oh, and keep an extra brake handy for both standard and dato. Rad saw! Enjoy.
Beautiful saw! Still using my 25 year old Hitachi hope to upgrade to a better saw soon. Did just get the dewalt 734 planer been wanting for 2 years lol awesome planer bought at home depot for 370 out the door! Keep the go content come god bless!
I could be wrong but I thing the table extension is made of wood and melamine so you can easily put a router lift in and use it as a router table as well. I've seen some people add it to saws and maybe sawstop was thinking ahead, that would be cool if they were. I plan on getting a sawstop when I move here Ina few months. I love your videos so much. Your one of the first channels that I started watching to give me inspiration to get into wood working. Thank you and God bless
I understand what you are saying, but I think you are paying it forward. Your videos are helping myself and others. Thank you!

I've been thinking of buying a cheap table saw. This video changed my mind. Thanks. Someday I might be able to get a sawstop.
That is so crazy, my brother in law just lost three fingers using a table saw and I was telling him about it. I guess is time to get one. blessings brother
Congratulations on the Saw brother you deserve it God bless from the UK
So happy for you Matt GOD is good all time your a great inspiration for us is never made UA-cam channel without you soon as I find mic I can afford I’ll be making more
I started with a $20 lapel mic from Amazon that hooked to my phone. Worked fairly well
I definitely want one of these! I almost lost 2 fingers yesterday on my table saw! 11 stitches later, I am very blessed! Eventually….
I understand why... you're a man of God... you can't out give God... Be blessed and carry on...
Amen
Love it! Once the shop is up I want to try and follow in your footsteps and get a CNC to work while I'm working with the aim of earning the money for a SawStop. One day!
👊
As a newbie woodworker and still learning this feature has saved me from injuring my fingers. Worth the extra cost for the safety
That’s awesome. Great story. I really liked how you gave away your miter saw to someone in need. Very cool! I love the channel and your videos. My dad was also a police officer. Thank you
That’s an amazing gift. Thank you brother for what you do.
Thank you
Been waiting on this video congratulations and we’ll deserved! Excited to see future projects.
thank you
This is definitely a blessing.
Blessings.
Nice! How do you like the Jet bandsaw?
@@731Woodworks the fence on it is great! Once it's dialed in you can do near perfect resaw and rip cuts. Like the sawstop, it's a bit of a pain to get adjusted though.
Congrats on the new saw. This is my dream saw as well. I currently have a 1952 Delta Unisaw. It is a good saw but doesn't have a lot of safety features. I also would like a left tilt. Congrats again Matt.
Great video! You have convinced me, getting a 3 hp Sawstop, but with the 52” extension.
Wow, so glad you weren't hurt worse!
It's very obvious how humbled you were by this man buying you the sawstop
Good for you! I had a Home Depot Rigid table saw and was very pleased with it...until I cut my thumb. I had a kickback and my thumb came over the blade and I headed to the ER.
Thank the good Lord I still have my thumb but it doesn't work as well as it use to,
I sold that saw and bought a 3hp Saw Stop and just love it. I am still cautious about the blade but for a different reason... touch that blade and the blade drops down so fast it scares you... and it cost $79 dollars to replace that blade brake and usually you have to buy a new blade! Also, I'm subscribed and like to watch your videos. Keep up the good work!
.
Whoa! So glad you didn't lose it either!
Congratulations, getting jealous, yet God has blessed me also with tools…appreciate you Matt and Amy
Congratulations, I am almost as happy for you as you are!
Thank you
Well, when you're faithful to the Lord there's always huge blessings.
Just got the 1.75 and I agree completely with your assessments. Very excited to use it
Thank you
That is a beautiful piece of equipment Matt.
Thank you.
Appreciate the honest review, it would be easy to just gush over it but you’re exactly right those are things I would be disappointed in too if I bought one. Looks like the miter gauge on my kobalt saw! I really like the tool review videos lately!
Thank you
Let's be honest, yall are probably never going to use that miter gauge anyway 😜
@@Shrubhumper lol
@@Shrubhumper True!
@@Shrubhumper yep, I only have a dewalt table saw, but yeah that miter gage has only come out of its holder once or twice...just to see if I knew how to remove it from the on board storage slot and put it back....it needs a tricky bit of alignment to go back in.
Its also my dream saw as I have at the moment a terrible contractor bench ryobi beginner saw. Thanks for a honest and Godly review and God bless you
I use to work for a bullet proof company we had this saw in our shop. Since the first time I made a cut on it I've wanted one in my home shop. One day I'll get one.
Congrats on the new Saw! I was hoping you can make a video on making cabinet and dresser drawers. Your videos have really been great mentorship.
Bless that man! Great channel and great choice in Saw Stop!
You’ll be happy. The Sawstop is a much higher quality saw.
With this not being sponsored by the manufacture you are able to be completely honest about your observations. 👍🙏☝☝
i stumbled on this by accident. i was looking for table saw reviews or delta table saw repairs. i remember seeing one of your videos with a delta.
Thank you
Hello, I am new to your channel and I want to say that I appreciate you speaking about the goodness of god.
That’s a good looking saw and an incredible story of generosity. The Jobsite Pro is on my short list for next year.
Congratulations! God works in mysterious ways, and as a woodworker, this is a great one! Thank you for sharing the pros and cons. Enjoy.
Thank you very much!
God is faithful!!!! Awesome gift and great review points!
