      Don’t sweat it. Buy a kit with extra springs. You should have a fix-it kit for your rifle anyway. Toolcraft is usually very good. You’ll be fine.

    This video makes me feel like such an uncle cleetus for thinking that all "mil-spec" bolts are the same.

    • @SkinnySkinch
      @SkinnySkinch 4 роки тому +18

      When you say the same, as in they will all accomplish the task at hand, they kinda are.. A lot of these tests he's showing us for example if something "fails" a certain test it doesn't always necessarily mean the BCG isn't going to function. Having a tight or loose tolerance doesn't always mean inoperable. Keep that in mind.

    • @YerGoodBuddyKeith

      As my buddy always says "mil-spec? Don't insult my rifle like " always cracks me up knowing damn well he carried a piece of shit m4 that rattled damn near in half for half a decade and it saved his life. Fuckin marines, man. They crack me up.

    • @MrT13
      @MrT13 4 роки тому +5

      Within mil spec is a relatively wide range, of standardized parameters... “mil spec” ones. That’s all. Tighter is definitely not always better either. Especially with a little lint left in or crud after a few rounds. In the grand scheme of things technically we can only measure to the capability of the device. Say within .0001 but factually no two pieces of anything ever made are exactly the same down to the atom. Even atoms.

Is there a company that really stands out as far as consistently producing BCG that are of high quality and gas efficient?

    Hello sir. I just recently purchase a “lux” modified bcg from WCArmory. It is a Microbest chrome bcg with chrome bolt and phosphated extractor. From what I could ascertain, he gets the bcg’s complete from microbest in bulk, then will modify it for you and ship it. Mine in particular was modified with OCKS retainers (look properly staked), sprinco 5 coil extractor spring, sprinco extractor insert, sprinco ejector spring (chrome sili, cryo treated), and uses an s7 ejector pin.
    I’d really like to send it to you for a “physical”. I’ve put it in my upper and ran some rounds through it just cycling it with charging handle. I’ve noticed some scars on the bullet but I believe that’s from sharp feed ramp edges and have been told that’s typical. Seems smooth I need to shoot it…but I feel like I got a deal at $124 shipped for this custom bcg.

    After watching a lot of these BCG physicals, it occured to me that these gas efficiency profiles could be separated into two groups. Is it possible a slightly inefficient bolt tail and front shoulder might be better for a combat weapon seeing a high round count and high heat situation with a lot of carbon or other debris whereas a highly efficient bolt might be better for a match gun but would be prone to higher rate of failure in adverse conditions?
