We just planted ours. We're over in Escondido. I bought a little seedling tree from ebay last year. It grew to about ten feet tall this year, but we cut it in half and planted it.
This is so awesome! We went ot Exotica yesterday (for my birthday), I was looking for another fig to add to my collection. I had seen a few videos about the place and everyone says "get yourself an ice cream bean tree!" LOL! So, I left there without any fig trees (that area was a bit of a mess), but brought home an ice cream bean seedling. There were four in the pot...I repotted it this morning but left all 4 seedlings. Maybe I should only leave one? I'm happy to see that they do grow just fine, and fruit in about three years (that's what I had heard about this type of tree). Que linda tu niña! The tree is almost as old as her. (:
@@socalbackyardorchard3768 Hey I planted my 9ft tall Ice cream bean tree like 7ft away from my house. I don't have much more space. I'm worried about it lifting my pavers or messing up my foundation. Should I move it further away from the house or not? Thanks bro.
@@socalbackyardorchard3768 Hi, I live in oceanside & was wondering what this food forest is! Is this your backyard or somewhere else where ppl can visit in Vista?
How does it do with high winds and winter where you are? Have you had to use posts for supporting/stabilizing its branches because of high winds? Is it deciduous in winter? How big is the tree now 5 years in? Have you had to prune it down?
Hey man by any chance do you sell the fruit I been looking for this fruit it’s a childhood fruit I have not ate in over a decade and I would gladly buy some of you
Damm dude whats up with you having little tours and selling some of the fruits right out of your house i would soo buy some and you can even grow your trees from the seeds and stuff and sale those
Eating Ice Cream Bean I find is devitalizing in my body, so, I learned not to eat them. I like being vital. Ice Cream is in the fabaceaea/bean-family, and you gotta more careful with that group, especially avoiding eating raw or non-fermented. For example, tempeh is healthier for ones body than tofu, at least I find.
